"In September 2019, Andrés announced that he was bringing Jaleo, his tapas restaurant, to River North inside the former Naha space. The release clarifies that the Chicago port of Jaleo — which has locations in Bethesda, Maryland; Arlington, Virginia; Las Vegas; and at Walt Disney World in Florida — should also open over the summer at 500 N. Clark Street." - Ashok Selvam

"The Arlington-based brand became an area staple over nearly two decades by cultivating a reputation as the workingman’s steakhouse. Owner Michael Landrum’s place was popular for 'butcher cuts' like a $22 hanger steak. Jumbo lump crab bisque full of sherry and a wedge salad with horseradish running amok in the blue cheese dressing were two other popular orders at the original Ray’s near Court House. Over the years Ray’s opened (and closed) other steakhouse locations and burger joints. The original shut down in June and was soon followed by the last Ray’s Hell Burger, marking the end of an era." - Tierney Plumb

Yelp
This review is for the Arlington County Manager's Office. I have been hearing really loud construction noises for a couple of weeks and have had difficulty getting information about the construction project timeline and also had concerns about weekend noise violations. I called several places trying to get answers and most people said "sorry about your luck" or told me it was outside of their control. I contacted the Arlington County Manager's Office the evening before Thanksgiving at 4:59 pm, which as you know is a horrible time to reach government employees. However, Wilfred Calderon answered the phone and took down my information. I figured that would be the end of it, but returned my phone call at 5:30 pm the same day with specific information about the project and also said the construction manager would be informed about the weekend noise ordinance. He also encouraged me to call him back if the ordinance was not followed Lately I have been fed up with county and government workers not effectively serving the public, and this is a prime example that proves me wrong. Thanks Wilfred!! I am happy that Arlington County is hiring some great employees! Update: The noise stopped for good after my phone call to Arlington County.

Yelp
I know folks detest the idea of giving hard earned $$$ to the county, but at least the good experience makes the experience better. The folks working in the county building are professional and friendly for the most part. Paying dues and getting building permits was a breeze - process is very streamlined and paperwork moves at a decent pace through all the different departments. Much better experience than what I have experienced at Fairfax county previously!
