Yelp
The 3 stars is strictly for the food and the service at the bar. They deserve all the praise and I mean that.
What I am not a fan of is the behavior of one of the clerks in the store area. Given that it is Pennsylvania, there is an arbitrary limit on how much alcohol can be purchased per transaction. I knew this going in, and while it is a thing, it makes buying alcohol in stores like this somewhat frustrating.
I asked the clerk behind the counter what the limit was, he told me, and I made one purchase of alcohol before getting my food, and I said to the other worker there "this is for a family member." So I made the purchase, took it out to my car, and then went to the bar area to order my food, I had one drink and an appetizer.
I went back into the store to make another purchase of alcohol for a second family member, which had to be a separate purchase, and then had to make a third purchase for myself.
Upon my third purchase, which is heavily annoying for everyone involved at this point, the clerk walks over attempting to intimidate me.
He says "Are you planning on getting drunk tonight?"
First of all, it's none of his business what customers do in their private time. Second, what if I was? Third, because of Pennsylvania's moronic liquor laws, I have to waste my time and the time of the clerk behind the counter.
I said to store clerk "This is for my family. I already presented my ID, do you want to see it?" And I showed the worker my ID and he backed away. He was out of line and condescending, which was all frankly unnecessary.
All of this is not a reflection on the food nor the service in the bar area. I mentioned that up top. But the clerk in the store area needs to mind his own business and respect the privacy of his customers.
