Armando's waiter made us feel like unwanted guests
My husband and I decided to give Armando's a second try, this being a few years after having a bad meal at their new location. The restaurant itself is beautiful, and very conducive to a couple's night out, or a party.
My lunch, the lasagna, was decent. It was a bit dry, but tasted good. What made our experience so poor was the waiter. First, my wine had something floating in it, which he should have seen, but did not. He reluctantly brought me a fresh glass.
Having taken our order about 15 minutes before, he stops by the table and asks if we wanted some "bread or anything," and I reminded him that we had already asked for bread. He gave us some lame excuse about being backed up. The room was only about a quarter full; not busy at all.
He finally came back with the bread and our food, so we had sat there for almost a half hour with nothing to eat. When he saw that we had finished our meal, he brought the check, never asking if we wanted coffee, dessert, etc.
My husband and I left wondering the restaurant wondering:
Were there any lunch specials? We were not alerted to any if there were.
Do they really only have 3 red house wines, or was it too much bother to offer us a wine list and/or advise us of all the wines available?
Do they not offer dessert to their guests, or again, was it too much bother to ask if we wanted anything?
I don't like being treated like an unwanted guest, and we left a tip that we hope got the message across. At this point I can't be bothered to go back.
