I tried the pan pepperoni pizza at the Armands location over on Western Ave a few weeks back, and it was absolutely fantastic. Just found out there was one in EP, too, so I ordered from them recently. I ordered a large specialty pizza called the Elmwood Park Special, which came with sausage, mushrooms, onions, and green peppers. Showed up at my door about an hour later and dug right into it. It was ok. Nothing to write home about. It's difficult to gauge how good it might have been as I received a lukewarm pie by the time it arrived. I'm gonna try their pan pepperoni next time just to have a solid metric with which to compare quality with their Western Ave location. If I am able, I'll probably end up just driving over to pick it up or dine-in next time just to avoid the delivery fee because it came out to like 45 bucks for a single 14" pizza. Edit: My usual pizza spot was closed for a holiday recently, so I ended up ordering delivery from this location again. After placing my order, I got my pizza after an hour and a half. Pizza was no longer warm when it arrived and was overly salty for whatever reason. The upside, at least, was that the toppings were ample. It's definitely still a huge disappointment given the prices, especially in today's economy. Waiting more than an hour and a half just to receive cold, salty, mediocre food is a huge bummer and a waste of money. I think I will just be ordering specifically from their Western Ave location from now on whenever I'm in North Center. Their quality is way better and actually consistent, as is their delivery time because their food is still piping hot when it arrives.

Google
Their online presence is horrible. They have specials (or do they?) but don't advertise them or they tell you they don't offer them any more. My Dad likes their pizza still (it was better 40 years ago) but it is not that great to me anymore and not knowing if they are going to honor their specials or what price they are going to charge you on a given day is not worth the hassle anymore.

Google
Armands is probably the best thin crust pizza in Chicago. I needed a potluck contribution and took advantage of the Tuesday BOGO special. People were thrilled to see me walk through the door with Armands pizza boxes!

Google
Good pizza overall but only mishap was I ordered a thin crust pepperoni and was given sausage instead, which my kids do not like. Also ordered their sausage pan pizza, it was a bit too doughy. I would go back and try some more thin crust since they have a great Monday deal.

Eric

Google
Their pan is the best. Thin crust is top 5. Tell them we'll done. The pan is mouthwatering delicious. EP and Elmhurst are the same. Don't go to Arlington Heights for their pizza, it's not the same.

Placed an order on Tues by phone for pick up. Paid by phone for my husband to pick up. My husband saw a massive sign that said buy one get one pizza Tuesday. My husband questioned the woman and she said point blank "oh I offered but the woman on the phone said she only wanted one pizza." Who says no to free anything? The person on the phone never offered or mentioned the offer. When my husband called me to check on this I noted i had no idea. When confronted with her lie, the woman got nervous and started making excuses. It was so awkward for my husband and maddening for me that he was in the middle of this. A 14in pizza for 30 without delivery is already alot but add insult by lieing about a customer about a offer they advertise is ridiculous. Never again. Lost another customer.

When I visit Chicago I must take a ride to my favorite pizza place! It was great in the 60’s & it’s the same today, just a different location.

Google
Probably a top 3 pizza in Oak Park, personally my favorite but has some unique elements I love that may not be for everyone ( semolina or cornmeal under crust, cross between NY and Chicago style thin) One very annoying thing though, their website is terrible A couple times the online site has combined old orders into new ones, and prices are wrong or misquoted, I had to pay more than owed and the answer on all occasions was a shrug. I’d prefer they don’t even offer online ordering vs current experience. They also don’t honor the 2 for Tuesday deal they offer, if you order online I paid for a pizza assuming once I arrived the cheaper pizza for 2 for 2 could be refunded and they wouldn’t/ couldn’t do that. I actually don’t mind if your website stinks as a small biz, don’t even mind if you can’t fix it. I suppose as someone in hospitality biz what I don’t love is the unwillingness to make any attempt other than “sorry we don’t do it online” to rectify the situation While I was waiting for my pizza I saw other people pickup up bigger orders for half what I paid online Worst part is they could have if I picked up for cash, but the online system didn’t allow cash pickups over $50 and forced me to put in a card they couldn’t refund Such is life, but probably some avoidable errors here.

Yelp
Consider this all you foodies: Arancini-little crunchy balls of goodness disguised as rice, meat and peas. The artichoke, roasted red pepper pizza and the Hawaiian pineapple pizza is just too good to be true. I will keep my Tuesdays open just to go there and then go home and take a nap. Don't judge me cause that's what happens when you go there. Just sayin!

Ana V.

Yelp
The pizza is so addictive. Always fresh out the oven and piping hot. It's just delicious. Can't get enough. Also, Tuesday is buy one get one free

Paul S.

Yelp
For more than a few orders now Armand's is a shell of its former self. For decades they were the best. They've done something to their crust which once was the best. Now it tastes like you're chewing on cardboard and paper. Totally ruined. Family still in EP and we don't order from Armand's anymore. Very sad

Tom V.

Yelp
Used to love Armand's from when I was kid up until my last 4 visits there this past year with new owners. Twice they were rude to me on the phone. I order my pizzas well done, they did not like my request for well done as 3 times now I have a substantially undercooked pizza with a slop of toppings hanging half off the pizza. New owners raised all prices and turned the pizza into something unrecognizable from my younger years. 36 yrs I have been going, starting at the og spot on grand. I will no longer patronize greedy rude owners that care less about the history and its customers. Another one bites the dust.

Saenz E.

Yelp
Sorry it's going to be a No from me. Got a slice sausage, it was like a paper layer of dried out cheese. The dough was hard and chewy the kind that makes your jaw hurt from chewing so much. Also had a salad which was that kind that is pre shredded iceberg, and skimpy on the toppings. Nope not for me.

Ashley V.

Yelp
Love Armands especially this location My Family has been eating here for over 30 years, definitely a big part of my childhood the Stuffed artichoke and the pizza is probably my favorite. The cornmeal makes such a difference on the crust.

Chris L.

Yelp
WORST pizza EVER! Would rather have had Domino's or Little Ceasar's, evn a frozen pizza from the supermarket! The bottom of the crust had way too much cornmealon it. The crust was"crispiy" alright, almost ineatable. No seasonings in the sauce and very little sausage on the pizza. NEVER ordering from here again!

Rick M.

Yelp
Great pizza and I always take advantage of the 2 for Tuesdays pizza special. Pizza always delicious with that crispy cornmeal crust and their in house sausage is very good. I literally order from them weekly.

J A.

Yelp
New to the neighborhood and needed to find a quality pizza joint and boy did I ever! Ordered a Caesar salad and an Elmwood Park Combo Pizza. Plenty of fresh ingredients, good sauce and a great crust! Delivery person was pleasant as well. Definitely will be ordering from here again.

Lisa M.

Yelp
As a child my father would take us to the original one on Grand ave.. I ordered a pizza from here today, it was absolutely perfect!! Crispy crust, great blend of cheese, just the right amount of sauce and sausage. Better then I remember as a child. The staff was very friendly. Even though it isn't close to my house I would order from here and take the 30 minutes ride.

Derrik B.

Yelp
I liked this pizza the first time I had it roughly a year ago, and then I gave Armand's a second shot after seeing the Barstool review. After trying a lot of the pizzerias around the area, I have settled as Armand's being my favorite for a quick go-to during the week. The Monday and Tuesday specials are the best! The cornmeal crust and mildly sweet sauce make for a good tavern style Chicago pizza!

Kathleen C.

Yelp
We've ordered Armand's a number of times this year - especially on Tuesdays for their pizza deal. One tip is to definitely order early on Tuesdays - they get busy. We've tried the pan and thin crust and while both are good, we really like the thin crust best. The pan is very doughy and there's a ton of cheese but I like the crust/cheese/sauce ration on the thin. Really pleasant staff and usually relatively quick turn around for pizzas just adds to the draw of Armand's. The sauce isn't too sweet - nice and with a little zip and a good mix of cheese and seasoning. Very crisp but not burned crust. Nice bite to it. Overall delicious!

Eric S.

Yelp
CAL-ZONED OUT Deliciously hot baked products come out of this local pizza chain's oven. Though I've driven past Armand's close to a zillion times, I'd only eaten here twice -- once for lunch a while back and once for dinner last night. I picked up an XL 1-topping (pepperoni, naturally) for a reasonable price of $11.99, a special they only feature on Mondays. I also picked up a sausage calzone slice ($5) and pint of minestrone soup ($3.25). My order was ready in about 30-40 minutes and none of the items disappointed. We enjoyed the extra large 'za, though it had chunks of flour on the bottom (???) and didn't heat up very well the next day. It was nice and cheesy, if a bit short on the 'roni. Calzone was great, a terrific pocket of flavor....I'd definitely get it again. Soup was solid. It's tough for me to justify coming here a whole bunch in the future, especially considering I live 50ft from a Lou Malnati's carryout spot. I might stop in at some point, most likely for a lunch slice. Sure, I'll recommend Armand's.

Jaliyah R.

Yelp
I've ordered from Armands a few times now, and there is no type of consistency with their pizzas. Last night, I ordered a pan pizza, and it was definitely the worst. Whoever made the pizza skipped the cheese on pretty much the whole pizza.

Karen S.

Yelp
Arrived at the bar to prompt service. The bartender made us feel very welcomed and comfortable. As a kid we used to have pizza in Elmwood Park at Armand's so having Victory Tap so close brings back great memories. The Elmwood Park pizza is awesome! Definitely going back for a cocktail and/or dinner again.

Tony R.

Yelp
Unfortunately they did not get my thin crust pizza topping correct. I ordered pepperoni and they gave me sausage, which I like but my kids do not. The thin crust had a good crunch and texture and good flavor overall. This is a great value on a Monday and good pizza overall. I also ordered a sausage pan pizza, which was very doughy and it overwhelmed the pizza and took away from the flavor. I understand pan pizza has more dough but it seemed like too much. Overall Armand's is good pizza and a great value.

James B.

Yelp
Order Placed: Tue, Dec 17 at 5:36 PM and order received at 6:51 PM. Ice cold and, well, i'll let the images speak for themselves. My wife called and they asked if we wanted another order (would take at least an hour). Yeah, never again.

Josh R.

Yelp
Recently saw the Dave Portnoy "one bite review" from 2018 and mental noted that I needed to try this place to see how I actually felt about it. Just happened to be on north ave. today for work, saw it and turned around to order some pizza and see. The building is clean and comfortable inside. There is a really nice area to sit outside and enjoy when the weather is nice. The staff was busy looking, but also super friendly. I was informed that today(Tuesday) was "buy one, get one". The pizzas were cooked a little differently than each other. The sausage pizza was a little more well done, and the pepperoni pizza was a little less well done. The crust is good, but when it's well done it is a little tough and looses some of its flavor. The pizzas had a great simple tomato sauce on them, the perfect amount of cheese, and the toppings were plentiful. Being born and raised on tavern style pizza, this is the kind of pizza that warms my heart and fills my belly. I enjoy the thinner crust and square cut. This is the real Chicago pizza. Glad I stopped in today!

Ranillo R.

Yelp
Armands pizza is a nice pizza shop located along North Ave. It is a Elmwood Park classic that makes fresh pizza daily. I think their pizza lunch special is a great deal. You get a large slice of pizza of your choice, (sausage, cheese, pepperoni, and vegetable/supreme) along with a drink for only $5. The pizza is big enough for 2 slices. Pizza is always fresh. Their pizza is of the thin crust variety. They also serve calzones and salads of different types. They also have soups and other appetitzers as well.

Chris C.

Yelp
I grew up on Armand's pizza and have always said it was the best pizza in Chicago. I am very proud to report it is still the best pizza in Chicago, the burbs, and anywhere else I travel too. They have moved off the original spot in Grand Ave just a few blocks away to North Ave. I am outside their delivery zone but I know I will be making the ride to pick it up because this is what great pizza tastes like!!! Keep up the great work guys, family run businesses like this are becoming harder and harder to find but you guys have stood the rest of time. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars!!

Carlos R.

Yelp
Stopped to have a slice and I tried the sausage onion mushrooms and green peppers, crunchy and delicious......if you in the area swing by one big slice cut in two and a pop or bottle water for $5 bucks.

Jeff L.

Yelp
My favorite pizza of all time. Being from Elmwood Park, I grew up on this and although Lou Malnati's is my favorite deep dish, there is nothing better than a cheese sausage Armand's thin with the nice crispy edge and slightly burnt cheese. Yum!!!

Nia P.

Yelp
Worst pizza in the neighborhood. I ordered a medium sausage and it had literally 8 sausages on it. As well, they're prices online do not reflect the price increase in store. My food was almost 10$ more than what it should've been based on the prices posted on their website. The cashier stated she was new so it wasn't her problem. I used to order here quite a bit for work and decided to try it again after at least a year of not going. I won't be back and would t suggest you waste your money on this overpriced, nasty pizza.

Yvonne O.

Yelp
Wow! This is a total turn around from our prior experience. I ordered through grub hub and actually thought I had ordered from another place with a similar name. We got a double dough pizza with house sausage and mushroom and both of us remarked on how this was the best pizza we've had in a long time! Crispy, sauce was not garlicky like our prior experience and perfect cheese ratio without even asking for light cheese. We have a new go-to place! Also got an order of tiramisu, but having gorged on the pizza, it will have to sit in the fridge for tomorrow!

Greg K.

Yelp
Best pizza in the area! Been around since the 1950s. It has a unique taste because when the roll the dough they use corn meal. Should be a five star pizza in my opinion. Being half Italian I know what good pizza should taste like. Now please leave the gun and take the cannolis.

Loreto L.

Yelp
I bought a slice of pizza(sausage) yesterday it was terrible grease and salty. It was the cheese I took the cheese off and it tasted better. I ordered pizza from here before (fiancé grew up eating it) and every time it as disappointed!! Never again.

C B.

Yelp
This pizza place has been in EP for many years and now they offer buy on red get one on Tues and Wed's. Soooo good!!!!. They have "the best pizza ever" if you like thin crust. I believe they make both thick and thin, but why change what you love?

Amelia M.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite pizza places!! I've only had one bad experience with a pickup where they barely put any ingredients on the pizza, so I do have to agree that their management is inconsistent. However, I called them about it and it hasn't happened ever since. Love their thin crust and delicious sauce! Yum!

Nick M.

Yelp
My family has been eating at Armand's for decades. Food is always fresh always delicious. The staff couldn't be more professional!

J S.

Yelp
The thin crust pizza, stuffed artichokes, and antipasto salad are second to none. My only "go to" place pizza place. It's a must stop!

Amirah D.

Yelp
Worst pizza I've ever had. The sauce and cheese is good but the dough they use is terrible, I didn't even finish my pizza. Gave it to a homeless person on the street. Little Ceasers was better than this.... I would give this play 0 stars if I could.

Ayesha A.

Yelp
Rare to find a place that does thin crust AND pan so well. Both are amazing. Delivery is fast too.

Rich M.

Yelp
This is a neighborhood staple. We order at least once a week. Pizza is always delicious and the staff is very friendly. Every time you walk in even the cooks smile and say hello to you. Don't sleep on the ribs or stuffed artichoke either. Better than my nanas!

Frank F.

Yelp
Picked up a pizza today at 440 it was ice cold called it in at 410pm must of been left over from lunch never again

Jenny D.

Yelp
I grew up in Elmwood Park but moved away in 1991. Since we are staying at Shriners Hospital I had to come back to my favorite pizza spot! I haven't tasted a better Pizza since Armands! Still an amazing pizza after all these years

Peter T.

Yelp
The best slice in town, Great pizza Great staff Five dollar slice with a pop what aGreat deal Great pizza for a great price, what's not to like about that thanks ARMAND"S you're the best around

D S.

Yelp
Been in 3 times. Service really slow. Sandwiches were not bad, meatball and Sausage were decent. Got the Pizza Nova pizzas, two of them. Ordered and was told what time they would be ready, got there 5 minutes early and picked up. The pizza was already cold, dry and not edible. So probably will not try again.

Dorotka K.

Yelp
I've had pizza from Armand's several times in the past couple of years and I'm unimpressed every time. It lacks flavor, is kind of greasy and toppings are skimpy.

Greg N.

Yelp
Pizza still tastes the same from the original owners now have tables and tiny tap next door. Parking can be hard to find.

Kinga I.

Yelp
Would give zero if I could. They mislead people on specials. We ordered a special on Saturday, and ordered a pizza. They called 50 minutes later and said they won't deliver it. The woman on the phone was rude, and did not want to refund the money. Crazy. Just don't. What a shame.

Frank P.

Yelp
Been eating ARMANDS for 30yrs! Michelle and her staff on north avenue are terrific . The pizza is great !

Mary R.

Yelp
Used to be better when it was at the Grand Ave location. My turn off is ordering a pizza online for a 6 o clock pickup and returning home with a pizza that is almost cold. Geez, I only live 5 minutes away. I know it's cold in winter but c'mon....pizza doesn't get cold that fast in such short time. I know New Year's Eve is very busy so I purposely ordered online ahead. I really don't feel like driving around on New Year's Eve night either.

Collin S.

Yelp
Fantastic pizza, I have ordered the Signature Pizza with artichokes, peppers, basil, and cheese. Great salads, and sausage as well. An excellent option for vegetarians. A great pizza place in Elmwood Park.

Chris D.

Yelp
Ordered the artichoke casserole appetizer along with 2 meatball sandwiches and a salad. The artichoke casserole was inedible. There was so much oregano you could not taste any other ingredients, especially artichoke. What is going on Armand's?

Lisa M.

Yelp
This is our new "go to" spot on Tuesdays! (Their week day specials are really appreciated by families on a budget!) Their crust is great and we love the cornmeal bottom - it's always crispy...never soggy. And they use quality ingredients for the toppings.

Daniel G.

Yelp
I used to go to the original Armands years ago and I must admit walking in her years later with new owners and a new location, it feels like the original one I used to go too and it brings back memories. The food is delicious and the employees are very nice and extremely helpful. I would recommend this to anyone, from anything like a slice a pizza to a full catered party. I will definitely be back with family and friends.

Kathy R.

Yelp
Love love the pizza, when you get it right. This place is so inconsistent. We have had the wrong pizza delivered. We have been charged for another order which was way more than our order and were not credited until 1 week later when a delivery driver came over repay us with cash. Pizza is good but not even close to the actual "Armand's" I think the Elmhurst location is the closest to the original.

Jacqueline S.

Yelp
Super greasy and salty and I hate that they raised their prices to $5 for a slice. And we had to wait 25 minutes for a couple slices of pizza? Not worth it!

Peter M.

Yelp
Unique. Not heavy cheese. Not heavy sauce. I truly admire this pizza. Not like I even have to leave a review, everybody already knows this place. Keep on doin what you're doin
