We recently visited Armani Ristorante in Dubai with friends and left genuinely disappointed, which is not something one expects from a restaurant operating at this price point and reputation level.
The most striking issue was the lack of discipline and order in the overall service. For a restaurant positioned as a fine dining destination, the experience felt oddly unstructured and inattentive, falling short of the precision and polish one would reasonably expect.
The food itself was another letdown. Portion sizes from the à la carte menu were nearly identical to those served as part of the tasting menu. While smaller portions are entirely understandable and expected in a 12-course tasting format, the same logic should not apply when ordering à la carte. At this level, à la carte dishes should feel complete and satisfying, not like a repackaged tasting portion.
The presentation and serving of the food were also underwhelming, especially for a restaurant that has held Michelin recognition in the past. Whether or not that status still applies, the execution did not reflect Michelin-level standards in either confidence or consistency.
Overall, the experience did not align with the brand, the pricing, or the expectations set by the venue. Unfortunately, it felt more like a missed opportunity than a memorable evening.
