The service was top notch. The cooking was perfect and I didn't see any faults with it. I just didn't love my meal. I think it's one of those times where you didn't order the best option off the menu for yourself lm

Fantastic. Visiting from London / South East UK, and pleased to say our palates were well looked after. Surprised to see someone describe it as horrendous, that feels harsh and unnecessary tbh ! We had one Fish Lover and one Meat Lover set, with a wine pairing for the meat. Sat outside. Lovely staff, and the live guitarist was perfect background to a thoughtful and genuinely tasty meal Had booked thru Google Maps, having experienced issues with Open Table. Only nudge is that the veg’s probably could be tidied up in prep, but the laminated menus, signage from the street and overall branding could do with a refresh to better reflect the quality of the experience !

This is a really lovely restaurant. It was quiet Sunday evening. Food was delicious, one meat fixed choice and one a la carte black scabbard fish. Excellent dessert mille feuille. Recommend and would definitely return

I visited this restaurant yesterday with my partner, and our experience well exceeded expectations. I opted for two courses from the à la carte menu: an incredible ceviche to start—simple but bursting with fresh flavors—and a spectacular red snapper served with black rice. Since I’m not a dessert person, two courses were both delicious and surprisingly filling. My partner went for the set menu, which essentially let him choose any course from the à la carte options. He started with an innovative appetizer, followed by the same amazing red snapper, and finished with a delightful pistachio dessert. He also tried the wine pairing; while it was decent, the dishes themselves were so exceptional that the wine seemed to lag just a bit behind. Service was top-notch—attentive yet never intrusive—and the ambience felt reminiscent of an old castle, very elegant yet comfortable. We both highly recommend this spot to any foodies visiting Funchal.

This is a difficult one. Overall the food was fine, service was very much split, and atmosphere was average. Although this is in the Michelin Guide currently, I can’t say it was in anyway stand out… FOOD The food is presented in a way which I understand what they are trying to do, but does feel rather dated by current standards. Food itself was cooked well, and wouldn’t say any of it was badly done but it wasn’t great or good. SERVICE There are clearly 2 tiers of service staff here. Our order was taken by a lady who clearly knew the menu, and knew how to run proper front of house staff. She was very good, attentive, and knowledgable - excellent. But the rest of the general staff were a bit clueless? they didn’t seem to really know much about the food, drinks, or what was going on. Real shame compared to the lady who took our order ATMOSPHERE We went on a Wednesday and there were a total of 6 other tables, it was not busy, and it felt slow. The decor was fine, but nothing amazing. Overall, average. Everything about this place is just average.

I got food poisoning from the parrot fish dish and was extremely sick to my stomach for a whole night and day. Since I had not eaten and drunk anything else that day that could have possibly caused it, I could only trace it back to the fish. I enjoyed the excellent food and service that night, however, disappointment started 1,5 hours after the dinner.

Google
A disappointing experience given its Michelin rating. We often dine at good restaurants home and abroad and this was the least enjoyable of our Madeira trip. The staff seemed inexperienced and we were given a table outside the main restaurant surrounded at times by up to 8 people waiting to go in. At one point I was asked 3 times if we had finished our meal whilst I was still eating. We did not feel welcomed or valued. We rarely give poor reviews but on this occasion we have little option.

Buy menu with 3 courses. If you do prices are reasonable, if not menue prices are to high. Avoid fois gras, not worth money. Duck and lamb was really good. Pistachio fondant was really good.

Yelp
Great service, nice location and easy atmosphere. The food was a bit disappointing, the Risotto to much liquid and overall overdone. The fish was great-

Yelp
We went a second time and we could convince ourselves that staff can be helpful and charming. Overall we are convinced that 5* are deserved. We have no reservation or hesitation to recommend the restaurant. Excellent meals are all created with Portuguese touch.

Yelp
Great food, nice terrace (no real view, but you're outside), service was good but not great: long waits for menus, not proactive with empty glasses, that sort of thing. Kid friendly!

Yelp
This has to be one of the best restaurants in Madeira. The cuisine is imaginative, inventive, creative and bursting with flavour. The service is professional and impeccable. Miguel, our sommelier, is knowledgable and well able to recommend the perfect accompaniments to each dish. Very highly recommended.
