The Hottest Coffee Shops to Check Out, November 2021

"Armistice Coffee Roaster has locations in Eastlake and Roosevelt neighborhoods, and opened a third near Pike Place Market. Owner and head roaster Rebecca Smith cultivates an approachable vibe at her cafes, a space for people to call a “truce” on their stressful day. There are usually seasonal rotations of two or three single-origins, a selection of Smith teas, and breakfast sandwiches, quiches, and pastries from Italian restaurant Limoncello Belltown." - Mark Van Streefkerk, Gabe Guarente

Julia is the best! Coffee/espresso drinks are fantastic, the tea’s are delicious. I am hooked on this coffee shop, super glad I came across it! I always have a pleasant experience, with quick and super friendly service, and great atmosphere! A gem of a coffee shop :) I usually get the white chocolate mocha (sometimes with a little hint of lavender syrup added, sometimes iced sometimes hot depending on the day, and each time it’s so delicious!) I also typically get the London Fog with oat milk and add a bit of flavor with of course, a little bit of their delicious lavender syrup! Tastes fantastic! Also, this place is in the process of switching from Armistice Coffee to Social Grounds Coffee—in case that is causing any confusion :)

Google
Fantastic coffee just steps from Pike Place Market. Great vibe inside, amazing barista - very friendly and knowledgeable. Our coffees were excellent and prepared with care. A nice relaxing stop away from the busy crowds. Recommend!!

Google
I've gotten the drip here a couple of times and although good it doesn't have depth of flavor. I like the taste of coffee and it either is a very light roast or very watered down. But I will keep coming back for the syrup they have which is a rose-vanilla. It tastes pretty amazing.

Google
I recently visited Armistice Coffee Pike Place and was impressed with the cleanliness of the coffee shop. The service was also friendly and welcoming, and I enjoyed the cozy decor and furniture layout. However, I have to say that the coffee was remarkably average. While it wasn't bad by any means, it just didn't stand out as anything special. Overall, if you're looking for a clean and cozy coffee shop with friendly service, Armistice Coffee Pike Place is worth checking out. Just don't expect the coffee to be outstanding.

Google
I got coffee latte and paid 5.50 USD. Coffee shop is architecturally beatiful but there is not much seating. It is not good place for work or study. Coffee quality is ok, not the great one in Seattle.

Google
Not my favorite place I've been to in Seattle. The aesthetic is definitely beautiful. It's minimal, clean, and just blends so well together. The barista was also very kind and answered the questions I had. However, the cappuccino was not good. The shot tasted over extracted and it was the first time ever I've been given a cappuccino with no art on top. The art on top doesn't really matter much, but the fact that it's just white milk foam and I have to drink my way down to the main part of the drink. The art instead of a gateway and mixture to the drink overall and this did not have that. I'll personally not be coming back and not recommending it to friends who visit Seattle, but if you want to try it that's up to you.

Wanted to grab coffee around 1st Ave and found this. Coffee was good, place is well maintained too. I got the Honey Latte and it was good.

Google
It was a fun place to stay for a while before the Kurtis Conner show; the house made pumpkin spice drink was good! That's what's in the pics, but I do believe it was a seasonal drink. The vibes were good, the lights were low but the windows allowed for good drawing light still :) I didn't have the food, only a drink, but the service was also good and the drink was made pretty fast for just having one person working there!

Yelp
I've been to their location near Green Lake several times, which I always loved, and the quality is also consistent at this location. I think they have one of the best matchas in the city, consistently, and I have loved everything I get here every time. This location is a bit cozier due to being downtown, but is still the same vibes and comfy space to sit and chat or do some work. The baristas are all top class folks. They are friendly and personable in a really authentic way. They also keep dog treats on hand, and offered to share them with me so I could meet this cute (but slightly suspicious of me) Shiba Inu in front of me in line. I'd come back here any time and definitely recommend it. My partner also really liked his latte too!

Yelp
Such a cute coffee shop near Pike Market. I wish they had their own specialty drinks - but that's just me liking to try out custom drinks. I ordered a Lavender Latte and a raspberry croissant; both very good!! Service was also good, the girl was sweet and welcoming. The place itself has a nice modern feel to it with some seating. Wheelchair accessible with a lift to the left of the entrance since they have steps right in front. They also sell cute little local designed cards, pins and stickers with their own merch too.

Yelp
Cozy little cafe in the hustle and bustle of Seattle. Tasty coffee with standard menu, holiday menu right now, and Turkish Coffee, which I love! Limited but spacious indoor seating. Street parking only.

Yelp
Lovely little cafe for a bright and early Saturday morning cup of coffee. The coffee and street watching were good, and i'de stop in again if in the area. The music was a little loud for a Saturday morning but that might just be personal preference, as I didn't have anyone with me to test how well I could hear them the music.

Yelp
Very first coffee stop on our trip to Seattle. Liked the flow or options they have which we don't see too often back east. Tried a cortado with lavender syrup and it was very smooth and tasty. My husband had a cold brew which he enjoyed. We took our drinks to go but the sitting area inside looked quite comfy. There are also two tables and chairs outside which is also nice. Our server was very sweet. She explained to me what a cortado was as well as several of the other offerings.

Yelp
Hmm... this place wasn't my favorite. I've been excited to try this place because of the great reviews and the inside is pretty cute and vibey. Honestly felt pretty let down. The decor is great, a good place to hang out-- but the mediocre rating comes down to the mediocre coffee for me. I always like the try and americano or coffee because it's the basic for a coffee shop to do write and let the flavor shine so to speak-- and it just missed the mark for me. I also tried the special latte.... And it was fine. But honestly just not something I would crave or go back for with all of the other great coffee shops in seattle in the same location.

Yelp
The Raspberry Croissant was very gooood! I loved the taste of the coffee. I got an iced honey lavender latte with oat milk and an extra shot. If you enjoy the taste of coffee in addition to the flavoring you add this is the place to go! Service was great! I got to talk books and the overall environment was very clean with lots of place to sit, work, and enjoy the morning.

Yelp
Drinks are always amazing, each employee has been incredibly sweet and friendly. I love the atmosphere here, between the music and the view outdoors.

Yelp
Ran into this place in that weird time of the afternoon where you either need a cocktail or cup of coffee to wake up. Only one barista working; she was efficient but I hope someone was on their break. Not an exceptionally safe area to warrant a singular person working. Ordered our standard dirty chai. Not the best, not the worst. Wasnt really sure of the vibe of this place either - lots of succulents and IKEA bookshelves. I dont think this brand was here thr least time I was in the area and I highly doubt it will be here when I return.

Yelp
Super cute coffee shop just a few steps away from Pike Place market. The interior is absolutely gorgeous, which lots of comfy and beautiful seating options. The coffee we got (maple vanilla latte and iced turmeric latte) were both tasty - I'll have to come back to try their unflavored coffee. Fast service and bathrooms available inside

Yelp
// Summary Everything was just okay - and if you're okay with that, then this is the shop for you. // Experience I ordered a latte, and it was just an average tasting cup. A little disappointing for Seattle standards, but passable enough to get you through the day. // Service Service was okay, nothing particularly notable. There was only one person working the shop, so it moved a little slowly. // Ambiance Small little coffee shop with a couple of seats available, some bar and lounge seating. // Convenience It's just outside of Pike Place Market, so there's that situation - take it or leave it, but it might be a better bet than your other coffee shop options around the area within a stone's throw of the Market.

Yelp
Saw this place pop up when I was looking for coffee during the workday downtown. I hadn't heard of it (or their other locations) and decided to take a chance. It's easy to spot, just across the way from Biscuit Bitch on 1st which is a pretty scenic street. The interior is really snazzy. Sparse and comfy seating, with jazz playing at just the right volume. Definitely nothing too sensory overload in there, which I enjoy. First thing I noticed though: this place smells amazing, so I figured it was gonna be a pretty good coffee. I had an oat milk latte and it was just right. Not bitter, great temp, full of flavor, and I almost felt bad putting a lid over the pretty pour on top. Service was also great. Had a nice convo, and I love meeting someone working downtown who genuinely likes the city and knows it well. I'll be back! Thanks!

Yelp
The coffee was good, but the atmosphere of this place is just lovely! If you're looking for a study space with greenery, this is is a must check place. For anyone else that likes a well lit coffee shop, this is a great space to work and focus. They also serve baked treats which was a nice surprise and the location is perfect, as it's very close to Pike, but just far enough that you can skip the crowd. Honestly, skip the First Starbucks and grab your coffee here! The coffee tastes great, the ambiance will want you visiting again, and you'll spend less time waiting to order. I did visit right before closing and it was empty, so if you're looking for some place quiet and not as packed, visit a little before they close.

Yelp
Beautiful, peaceful coffee shop close to pike's place but without the chaotic long lines. Such a needed place for us to relax in the middle of the madness. SUPER comfy couch!!! Amazing service, very kind baristas. Great place for long conversations or focused working. Wonderful pastries!!! The coffee was good, and the ambiance and the kindness of the baristas is what really made the experience amazing.

Yelp
Very cool ambience, interesting music and good coffee drinks. They also serve some tasty ham and cheese and turkey and cheese croissants, quiche and other snacks. They even serve beer and wine. Currently opened 7 AM to 5 PM. Lots of vegan options - soy, almond, oat and coconut milk.
google avatar

Yelp
What a nice find! We wanted to go somewhere other than Starbucks and get a chai latte. The interior here is pretty and minimalist, which I love. Service was great and our drinks were delicious. They offer almond, oat, and coconut milk alternatives. The chai lattes were not too sweet and not too hot. Perfect!

Yelp
Great Turkish coffee. Friendly staff. Comfortable environment. Going back on Sunday (great hours for a coffee shop, too)

Yelp
Had an excellent fall harvest latte and a mocha here. Very creamy, not too sweet as requested and robust coffee. Delicious! Service was great too - quick and courteous. The interior is spacious and inviting - lots of beautiful plants around. Highly recommended! We'll be back

Yelp
Very quiet even in peak morning hours. Great location just off of pike market. Food was pretty good, but the ham & cheese croissant was not warmed up fully, although it still tasted pretty good.
google avatar

Wojciech K.

Yelp
The place is in a great location and interior design is very trendy. I ordered americano and my girlfriend ordered raspberry vanilla latte and the taste average. Coffee quality was average. The small wasn't engaging. The taste was mediocre. When it goes for Seattle coffee shop, this place has much more room for improvement.
google avatar

Marissa W.

Yelp
Was tough finding a place in this exact area for some unsweetened matcha. Luckily this place had some that was only sweetened with monk fruit. It was perfect - nice barista.
google avatar

Mari M.

Yelp
Ordered the peppermint mocha. Coffee had a nice flavor and beans didn't taste super over-roasted and burnt. The barista was nice and got our order out to us promptly. Will be back to try something else next time!
google avatar

Yelp
Wow the customer service is amazing, I am here at a Saturday April 9th @ 3:30 pm. The lady or barista is a one-woman army in a lobby full of people. Positive attitude and willing to go above and beyond. I would advise a pay raise for her, she deserves it.
google avatar

Jenny A.

Yelp
We were looking for a place to work from because we all had remote jobs and needed to take some meetings. This Cafe was really nice and had a great vibe l, had outlets, and had wifi. The wifi doesn't have a password. I got a day old almond croissant for half off and it was very tasty. The barista was funny and nice! I would recommend this place to come and hang out. Only con is the music is pretty loud, so hard to hear conversations.
google avatar

River P.

Yelp
been in here a few times and the coffee is great! oliva is very creative with drinks and always gives the best recommendations! she's the best in the west!
google avatar

Yelp
Cute shop right in the heart of downtown. I was so glad to see it open as it's in a very convenient location. I was very pleasantly surprised to learn they are dog friendly- bring Fido in and they'll reward your pup with a treat! They have a great chai and I love that they offer seasonal drinks. I'm a big fan of the caramel apple cider. It's cozy and offers wifi and some limited pastries/breakfast sandwiches.
google avatar

ella m.

Yelp
really nice location/ambiance. the service was decent, not super good but not bad or specifically rude. the coffee is pretty bad in my opinion, but to each their own.

Katherine L.

Yelp
My favorite coffee shop from my visit to Seattle. The vibes and the coffee were both amazing! I absolutely loved the raspberry vanilla latte with oatmilk both hot and cold. Although this might only be a seasonal special, I would recommend it if it's still available. Will definitely be coming back the next time I'm in Seattle!
google avatar

Christopher K.

Yelp
The worst Americano I've ever had in Seattle. Americano is almost like a plain hot water. Yes, plain water.
google avatar

Asim B.

Yelp
Cool coffee shop near the market. Decor was next level, latte / cappuccino were really great and the pastries were amazing. Whoever the local pastry shop is, BRAVO, these are excellent. Staff was really friendly too-- and thanks for being open and on time, on a snow day!
google avatar

Anna D.

Yelp
Loved it. The coffee was great, the baristas were so friendly and welcoming, the space is nice... literally, for me, the only downside was that they don't have pour overs. The cortado I got was so good though so I can't really complain. Looking forward to coming back soon!!!

Christy C.

Yelp
Have visited a number of coffee shops and wasn't impressed with this one. Convenient location but better options in my opinion in the area (I like my coffee darker and strong).

M B.

Yelp
The barista was cool as could be, sharing insights about the city and offering a handful of tips. The coffee drinks were spectacular, proving there's more than just one coffee co. in the Seattle area. Highly recommend.

Brian K.

Yelp
The locally roasted coffee was amazing. The service was fast and friendly. A great atmosphere to get some work done.

Hana P.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this gem while visiting from out of town, desperate for some caffeine. This is a super cute and trendy spot, perfect ambience for studying or letting your feet rest after walking around Pike Place market. I went for an oat milk latte to be on the safe side and it was absolutely delicious. Barista was friendly, the cafe had a cool vibe, and it didn't close at 1pm like most places nearby. Definitely recommend stopping by. I know I will for the remaining duration of my trip!

Marcus G.

Yelp
Great coffee and ambiance. The vibe is amazing! Try the turmeric tea latte it's very good!

Fk Y.

Yelp
Not great but also not the worst place for coffee. The baristas are chill and the create a relaxing ambiance. It's a good study spot for students or a casual meet up.

David G.

Yelp
Love this great little cafe on 1st! Great coffee and food, good selection of waters and super friendly staff! The ambience is fun and hip, great tunes in the background. Just a few steps from the Thompson and a block off Pikes Place Market.

Bridget D.

Yelp
Always a good vibe, great music, friendly & wonderful baristas. The maple cinnamon latte is to die for

David M.

Yelp
This place has the best baristas in Seattle. Extremely nice and understanding, quick and make a great cup of coffee. The drinks aren't too sweet which is nice considering over cafes in Seattle overdo it. The space is comfy and welcoming. I'll definitely be back

Mike P.

Yelp
The coffee is super sour, bad taste for sure. Ugh. Remember Sour coffee comes down to two things: (1) bad beans and (2) bad brewing. If the beans are under-roasted, they'll taste grassy and sour. ... But, chances are, you're beans are fine--which means you need to make a small adjustment or two to how you make your coffee. Sour coffee is usually under-extracted coffee.
