Armstrong Jazz House - Review - Coral Gables - Miami - The Infatuation

"There are plenty of jazz nights in Miami, but Armstrong is the only place that hosts live jazz every night of the week. Musicians go on stage twice—6pm and 8pm—and play from a small stage carved into a display window. We’re pretty sure the space used to be a bridal shop, and from the outside, the band looks like funky mannequins come to life. If it’s a weekday, you can safely walk in without a reservation, but make one on weekends when it gets busy. There’s food here and wine-based cocktails, but we like it best for a pre- or post-dinner show with a bottle of wine." - Virginia Otazo

I had such a wonderful experience here! Our waiter, Rubin, was absolutely amazing—attentive, friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. He really made the evening feel special. On top of that, the live jazz band was phenomenal. The music created such a warm, vibrant atmosphere and truly elevated the whole dining experience. Between Rubin’s outstanding service and the incredible live music, this place is an absolute gem. Highly recommend!

Absolutely amazing experience! Such a special night for my sister’s birthday! They really took care of of us. The food, music, and atmosphere was phenomenal. Some of the best food we’ve ever had.

Great food, service and ambiance. My wife and I came for a light supper and music. Thoroughly enjoyed it. The Pavlova was superb, staff brought a complimentary tea service tray, the music was fantastic, there even two people that sang to their heart’s content. It’s the kind of place Miami should have more of. We engaged in easy conversation with patrons in other tables, altogether a very congenial atmosphere. We hope their business model succeeds in the long run, we need them to stay firm as a great neighborhood place to enjoy good food and music. We will definitely return, and often.

An absolute gem in Miami! The ambiance at Armstrong Jazz House is simply spectacular, intimate, romantic, and full of charm. The live jazz performance creates a magical atmosphere that makes the entire night unforgettable. The food is great, the menu is small, but thoughtfully curated, with just the right options to enjoy while soaking in the show. Also, they surprise you with some delicious details. Perfect spot for a romantic evening or a unique discovery in the city. Highly recommended!

If you're seeking an unforgettable dining experience, this intimate gem is a must-visit! From the moment you step inside, you're enveloped by the owner's personal touch—each corner adorned with unique decor pieces that tell a story and create a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The happy hour offerings were exceptional, featuring a curated selection of drinks that perfectly complemented the evening's vibe. But what truly set this place apart was the live music—energetic, soulful, and absolutely off the charts! It transformed the night into a lively celebration, making it impossible not to tap your feet or sing along. The staff was attentive and friendly, ensuring every guest felt special. Whether you're planning a romantic evening, a night out with friends, or a solo retreat, this restaurant offers an experience that's both unique and memorable. I can't wait to return and relive the magic. Highly recommend!

The atmosphere at this place is super chill. The crowd is late 40s-70s ish. You do need a reservation, and on Thursday night that was definitely the case. The band was decent. Mellow. The space was super tight. Most the tables are alongside the wall, and it feels like you are on top of your neighbors. The one lady I basically shared an armrest with kept moving so much and bumping me every time she did, I felt like I was stuck on a flight with a toddler I couldn't escape from. The food was not what I expected, especially considering the prices, a bit underwhelming. The steak was well-prepared. But nothing spectacular. The salmon was well prepared too, but again, for the price it wasn't phenomenal. We also split the calamari and shrimp appetizer. Again, we have all had better, was the consensus. (My friend felt the sauce was very watery, I felt like it had a lot of condiments- salty.) I also ordered the French onion soup. That looked like it would be good, but I found it very over condimented, a lot of what tasted like cumin.) I think the best thing about this place is the service. Our waiter Laz did his best to make sure we were happy.

Google
I had such a great experience at Armstrong Jazz House! We started with two appetizers, the calamari and shrimp platter, and the chicken tostones. That were both delicious, followed by the skirt steak with mashed potatoes and the burger with potato wedges. Everything was cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. Our drinks were amazing as well, super well-made and balanced. The peach bellini and the mango mojito were my favorites. The service was truly on point. The staff made sure we were taken care of throughout the night and didn’t hesitate to check in and make sure everything was to our liking. And the live music? The absolute cherry on top. The band created such a fun, intimate vibe that made the whole place feel small, cozy, and lively all at once. I’ll definitely be coming back. Such a great spot for good food, drinks, and music!

Google
A Whole Vibe — Like Stepping Into the 20s (or Your Cool Uncle’s House) When it comes to vibes, this place nails it. It feels like stepping back into the 1920s — or maybe just hanging out at your cool uncle’s house who happens to have impeccable taste in music. I actually enjoyed the live jazz here more than I did in the French Quarter, which says a lot. I’ll definitely be coming back. That said, if you’re planning to drink, stick to the wine. The cocktails? As bad as they can possibly be — trust me.

Yelp
This place is a gem. Surrounded by live jazz and great service, we started with cocktails and the chicken tostones appetizers followed by the French onion soup, blue note shrimp salad and skirt steak. Wrapped with the tres leches dessert. Chef's kiss!! Oh, and the Bordeaux was Devine. If you visit, you must experience this place!

Yelp
Great tunes when I entered, but the bar staff were not the friendliest and did not seem that interested in serving my group of 3 (as we were not sitting at a table and instead choose the bar for a drink). The barman was decent (2 wines and an Old Fashioned, so not that difficult of an order). We were asked to shift down 1 seat at the bar about 10 minutes after we sat down, to free up 2 seats together. I don't have an issue with that, but no one ever sat in those seats. Shifting down put us closer to the staff area (kitchen), so we were then constantly bumped into as the staff moved around. We couldn't get any closer to the bar, due to the size of the seats. All in all, a cozy spot to listen to some good local jazz musicians, but the staff that night left my experience lacking.

Yelp
Love this intimate little spot! It's Tupi ally packed because "smart people" Make their reservations ahead of time; I wound up at the bar. Don't ask me what I had, don't recall; I was overwhelmed with the service and conversation by the owner. He was so accommodating. I am Happy to report: I will be happy to return!

Yelp
Wow! We finally found our perfect go-to place for jazz, great food, and relaxing atmosphere. The place may be small but it's huge in personality and great personnel. The staff was friendly and, oh sooo efficient. Upon arrival they give you a complimentary shot of their passion fruit cocktail. It was delish We went as a big group to celebrate our friend's birthday. We thoroughly enjoyed our complete experience. The manager approached us and offered some of their specialty tea at table outside (on the house.) It was such an unexpected treat. He is definitely a gracious host. Can't wait to come back.

Yelp
Awesome service and great food. This place is full of ambience and music that reflects the style of Louisiana life. Next time we are in Coral Gables, we will most definitely be coming here for a nice dinner and great music. I do wish they would get bar chairs that actually swivel. The ones they have now are not and if you have a significant other with you, it's rather difficult to keep moving your head back and forth to talk and to watch the jazz band. Just my two cents. Other than that, this place is well worth the tome to stop by and visit.
google avatar

Yelp
I'd like to come back, sit inside, and try the food. I love Jazz and I like that Armstrong appears to be a popular place to watch live Jazz in Miami. I can't speak to the food, but the cocktails we had were decent and the service was pretty good. It was full inside, so we sat outside at a few tables on the sidewalk yet we could easily hear the band. The Jazz? On the particular evening I went, it was somewhat boring and even a bit uninspired - almost like background music. Maybe that's the point of Armstrong - it's a place where you can enjoy light, easy-going Jazz for good conversation (if you can find it), food, and drinks.

Yelp
The place is very small, but quaint. They have a live jazz band. The food was amazing and so was the digestive tea that is served at the end of dinner. They do charge five dollars per person for entry. But, at least they greet you with a small shot of Prosecco.

Yelp
This cafe has live jazz music every night! Just a note there is a cover charge and they finish playing earlier than the restaurant closes (around 11:15 the night I came). The have food and drinks (including mocktails). I got the lychee drink and the truffle Mac and cheese which was really rich and flavor and quite delicious.

Yelp
I search for jazz music everywhere I go. Not only do I find it completely enthralling but I discovered it truly awakens all my senses in the most profound manner. Not only do they offer live jazz every night but they're also located in my neighborhood which I'm quite grateful for. Reservations are suggested if you desire to be seated indoors quite most tend to prefer. The menu offers a variety of appetizers and entrees sufficient to satisfy a hungry crowd without overdoing it. I've visited this place several times and each visit has had delightful dining experience as I sip on the bottle of wine of my preference and hear the array the percussion amongst me. It's a premier upscale jazz venue so the prices are parallel to the experience offered. I found the restroom to be quite tidy which is always a plus. Whether you're linking up with friends, coworkers, or on a date; they can offer the vibe you're searching for. The service is top notch and the food is just as great as the live music they have. Where else can you get live jazz with this much panache? It's a solid YES for me.

Yelp
Omg BEAUTIFUL MUSIC/JAZZ , the food is incredible and the service impeccable! Thank you Arlene your smile and beautiful service throughout the night was great it appreciated. We will be back and you are one of the reasons we will and Alfred your joy and passion to give your guests good music, drink and food is beautiful. Your hospitality and beautiful friendliness made our experience one of the best ever.

Yelp
We finally came with the proper-prior-reservation and the experience went excellent. We sat promptly, the table was pretty good located right in front of the stage, I don't think there is a bad table here anyways, the drinks are not too good because they are made of winebase, my sister and husband ordered Oldfashiones and they were mediocre. The services was very friendly, the music top-notch, the sound very good, we enjoy the bonus performance of their bouncer (this lady won't last long there) and she is a super talent, and the food was very good, the churrasco was tasty and cooked to perfection, the French soup was good and the tostones as appetizer were a bit salty and why too small for the price. Overall a very good night out! We finished with a jar of tea on the house and it was another added bonus! We'll be back soon...

Yelp
I had been wanting to check out Armstrong Jazz House for a while. I finally got to go this weekend and I must say I will definitely be back. The managers Alfred and Ruben were both very attentive and accommodating. What great service. The ambiance is such a vibe, absolutely loved it and the food was delicious. My party ordered the New Orleans Chicken Tostones which were so good and Sinatra's Skirt Steak and the Paris Pavlova to name a few, which were all delicious. We also loved the jazz band! We all enjoyed it so much we can't wait to go back!! Highly recommend Armstrong Jazz House!!
google avatar

Cathy O.

Yelp
Six of us went for a birthday celebration. We were greeted with a shot of something yummy from New Orleans. Our table was near the band. Inside is small but very opulent and cozy. We started with 2 orders of calamari and shrimp. They took forever to come out from the kitchen and were "less than" warm, but had a nice flavor and we were hungry, so were gone in no time. I got the skirt steak with a side of mashed potatoes, and an additional side of the parmesan broccoli. It was super delicious. I'm looking at the menu now and wondering if they've made some changes, or if I just missed seeing the beignet conch fritters or the European plantain appetizers. Oh well...something to look forward to for next time. For dessert we got the Paris Pavlova, and it was as heavenly as it sounds: Dulce de leche, strawberries and meringue. So the jazz was outstanding and made for great entertainment and a special night. Armstrong's a definitely a score for a date night or special occasion. You absolutely need reservations, but if you are really lucky you might score a table outside without a Rez, but there's been a line every time I've been nearby.

Yelp
Great place to listen to live Jazz bands. Small indoor seating and bar with great ambiance. Unfortunately very disappointing with the food choices. Even the bar tender told me not to bother with the menu as there was nothing for vegans Cute place to go on a date, or if you love jazz, my only recommendation would be to get with the times and offer some plant based environmentally friendly food options.

Yelp
Honestly this place could be great. The music was perfect. Interior was nicely done. But after that this misses the mark across the board. 1) this is not a full liquor bar. Yet they have a cocktail section. So pretty much your paying $16 for fruit juice 2) even if you wanted to order a cocktail most of the items aren't even available on the menu. Also, various food items weren't available as well even though this is a limited menu. 3) what it says on the menu is not what you get. The tostones said you get 5 and the plate has 4. See my picture 4) the food service is wildly slow. We sat down and ordered two meals and after one hour of waiting nothing came out. We ended up cancelling our order and going somewhere else. 5) when we got our tab they have one hand held machine that they show your total but when you actually pay the waiter pulled out his iPhone to process payment. Very strange to see that. Also, the card machine apparently doesn't work with Visa cards which is insane. Really sad to see a great concept ran so poorly. I'd be shocked if this place stays open for long with so many other better options in the gables.

Yelp
Armstrong Jazz House is a beautiful place to spend an evening sipping wine, eating great food, attended by gracious staff and listening to some NOTEWORTHY live lazz, This is exactly what Coral Gables needed!

Raina K.

Yelp
We had a fantastic experience celebrating my dad's birthday here. He is a huge jazz fan and is usually seeing live jazz in NYC which can be hard to compete with. The band we saw here were incredible, the atmosphere was awesome, and the staff, service, and food were all top tier. We had Rubin as our waiter and he went above and beyond to make our experience perfect. We will 100% be returning and I highly recommend this business to anyone in the greater Miami area. We drove 40 mins here and it was SO worth it!
google avatar

Yelp
Fantastic date spot to bring a loved one or friend to listen to awesome jazz music. My wife and I had a great and will definitely be back. The only reason for 4 stars is that the space is small and tight and our reservation was late so some of the stuff on the menu we wanted were unavailable. Other than that, the ambiance was amazing, service was amazing, and the music was amazing. When you first sit down, they welcome you with a small glass of champagne and a hot wet towel, and broth to clean your palate. They have great options on the menu and fantastic selections of wines. If you're looking for whiskey/bourbon, they don't have. The old fashioned is wine based. Wasn't that good but still a good experience to try.

Yelp
Amazing jazz bar! Wonderful service, ambiance, and food. Make reservations and go! You're given a complimentary shot when you go in, and they bring you a tiny cup of soup along with peanuts once you've sat down. For food, we ordered the Burger and Salmon. Both entrees were spectacular! Burger comes with truffle fries and for the salmon, I chose truffle mac and cheese. All very delicious. Tres Leches dessert was AMAZING! Our waiter, Alex, was friendly and attentive. I definitely would come back again!
google avatar

Emily M.

Yelp
Definitely would go back for wine and atmosphere with the live jazz but not to eat. Service 8/10. Ambiance 10/10. But the food 2/10. Definitely not a dinner spot just a lounge and drinks spot.

Yelp
I have been wanting to go to this jazz house for ages ! I usually go to Lagnaippe when I want to see some live jazz. But when I saw this on Miracle Mile I knew that I have to go. I recommend that you make a reservation the place was packed . We waited some time to be seated inside. This place is all about the classy vibes. The atmosphere takes you to another time. We got small plates. I really enjoyed the tres leches . Definitely coming back here again. Decent prices. A good spot for a date or a catch up and to enjoy some good jazz !

Yelp
The employee Elizabeth was the star of this place, it was my girlfriend's birthday and she made sure every request I made her excelled, thank you so much!
google avatar

Yelp
Update: The venue reached out to me a few days after the reservation, explaining that there had been an issue with the transformer in the area that took out their power. They offered a refund and a return visit, and while I won't be able to take advantage of the latter since I live in Boston, I appreciated them for their outreach and for not leaving me hanging.
google avatar

Yelp
great music, great service, great food, what else could you possibly need? i genuinely recommend if you come here for anything at all: the passion fruit cheesecake is one of the best desserts i've ever had in my entire life. Also recommend asking for MARY to serve you!very attentive and sweet, she definitely elevated the experience! The espresso martini is alado delicious and huge for a great pick me up :)

Yelp
Service was amazing, the food was good but pricey. The ambiance of course was why we were there. Lovely live jazz. They have jazz every night which is pretty cool. I recommend.

Yelp
After a nearby date night, my husband and I wanted to stop in here for a nightcap and it was an interesting experience. We did not try any food, so cannot speak to that. First the atmosphere is cozy, dark and exactly what you want in a jazz bar. When we went to order drinks, we learned they didn't have a full bar - which is fine - but then when my husband went to order a cocktail from their menu, they were out of it, and the bubbly I ordered was...simply not good. We did enjoy the live music - but when we tipped and tried to request something, the band didn't know three of the artists I listed off - one of which is arguably one of the most famous jazz/blues of the 2000s. Overall, this was still a fun experience and we'd go back, but would probably stick to more upscale wine.

Jillian M.

Yelp
Made reservations and had to still wait 30 mins. They ended up sitting us at the bar so we wouldn't have to keep waiting outside and once a tablet would open up they'd sit us at a table. After ordering drinks and an appetizer we were asked if we still wanted a table...it was a cool vibe and the food was good but not out of this world. Most likely won't visit again. I would give a 2.5
google avatar

Cynthia R.

Yelp
Whenever I travel I always make sure I find some jazz spot to sit and relax to some good music. I couldn't wait to visit this place during my time in Miami. I went solo on a Sunday evening, wasn't crowded but nice size crowd. But the place is very small and intimate so not many people can fit in anyways. They do take walk ins but I highly recommend a reservation since the place is so small. The food, service and best of all music were all on point. It was a whole vibe. Just very relaxing and enjoyable. And at the end of your meal you get complimentary tea in the cutest China. Made the experience all the more enjoyable.
google avatar

Genevive O.

Yelp
This place is nice with the live music but has a lot of potential of being better they need to better their hostess situation I was standing in the front for like what felt like 15 minutes with my husband beside that the ambiance was nice
google avatar

Tasneem D.

Yelp
We mainly came here because of the dark interiors, cozy seating, and great live jazz band. Just that alone justifies the trip. Bring cash to tip the band and support local arts foundations! There's also a dense food and drinks menu. The green detox tea is great and the teacup set is beautiful! You get some shot when you enter, plus a shot of warm chicken broth and some nuts to snack on. The astronaut chocolate cake is the only miss. It's a bit too cakey, maybe too much egg? The cake to icing ratio is off since it's not very moist. It's crowded and busy, so service is also busy at times understandably.

Yelp
It's all in the details This is an absolute gem. Jazz, Parisian flair, wine, and astronomy all blend seamless in this cozy little corner of the Gables. The space is tiny but the decor is a beautifully curated collection of art, vintage items and knickknacks all arranged decoratively, while crystal chandeliers and gilded details lend an elegant touch. The owner, a jazz musician, opened this place about 70 days ago, and the bar and seating will be full by patrons coming into enjoy French-inspired bites (chef is French) and good jazz music. In a Sunday night, it was packed but we were able to grab two seats at the bar--suitable to just have a glass of wine and listen to the music. The concept is great as was the service, and I hope they continue to grow and expand their space in the gables! Didn't try the food but tres leches was very good, and their cheese board had bits of Brie, a pepper jack (and possibly Gouda) served with a bit of fig jam, 2-3 small rosemary crackers, a couple of olives and a few nuts. No liquor license apparently because there was only wine and wine cocktails (such as a wine old fashioned - not to our taste, regular wine is better). Would definitely come back for the vibes and live music!

Yelp
This was a nice experience and place. Love the live music. Food was good and drinks as well. Highly recommend getting a reservation this place gets packed easily.

Yelp
Was on our way to grab wine in Miracle Mile and stumbled upon what now happens to be one of my favorite Jazz bars in Miami. There weren't any spots available but Alfred Santamaria escorted us to 2 seats at the bar and our night was extravagant. Let me start with the decor and the overall ambiance. I absolutely loved the way the shape of the jazz house was in accordance to a regular shop on Miracle Mile except the jazz band was the display. Definitely attracts customers and definitely attracted me. There are chandeliers over every table, beautiful lighting, there is an entire shelf wall filled with items that outline jazz culture and just pretty pieces of all sorts of things that adds to the decor. The music. Incredible. The entire band played so well together and got the crowd to sing and dance throughout the night. And mind you, this was a Wednesday night. I can't imagine a weekend. It may have been the wine but I can't recall the name of the saxophonist, but he was amazing. He took song recommendations from the crowd and played for different tables which made the experience more personal. The story of how he ended up playing at Armstrong Jazz House makes his talent even more admirable. Drinks and Dessert The champagne and wine were great. There was an off the menu Prosecco they were testing that I loved. Ended the night with a Tres Leches and were strongly advised by Alfred to have tea with the dessert to give an aromatic experience when combined with the dessert's sweetness. Turns out, I will be incorporating that into my daily dessert dosage now. The service Some of the best service I've experienced at a bar/jazz house. Nobody was too busy to help or check on you, despite the place being packed. Sitting at the bar is not my favorite but The bartender was very attentive and sweet and had an elegance to him that made me respect the bar and the overall place. The service and treatment was the same all throughout, whether you were sitting at a table, at the window seat, or at the bar. A truly respectable place. Definitely aligns with the true character of a Jazz House. I will definitely be coming back and recommending this place.

Yelp
Spectacular experience from start to finish! Every staff member was attentive, polite, and very well spoken. Our server gave us the lore of the establishment and was constantly checking in on my friend and I. They have live jazz 7 days a week (no cover), and the food is fire!!! I recommend for date nights or really, any night! I will be frequenting this establishment often and will spread the word, the vibes are vibing!!
google avatar

Samira B.

Yelp
I came here with one of my besties for a Ladies Night! We did not make reservations unfortunately and had to wait, but it was worth it! We decided to sit at the bar and our bartender made our night unforgettable! The waiters were so friendly too! Truly great service! We sampled a few wines, then ordered what we liked, even got free champagne at the end! Our bartender was very knowledgable, friendly and full of life! The energy at this establishment is amazing, the vibes, chandeliers and the decor, truly I loved the trinkets on the walls, and the design of the lights! It is perfect for an intimate night or even with a few friends. Live jazz every night! EVERYNIGHT! The music was to die for! We ended it with this amazing tea in a beautiful tea set, that from what I remember he told me it was a family recipe passed down! That truly was the cherry on top! It was the perfect end to the evening! We stayed until closing! I am so happy to have discovered this place! Thank you to the whole staff for making our evening unforgettable! Cheers! Until next time! Xoxo

Yelp
Ruben was the best , greatest service I've had in miracles mile and in a while , the wine was fantastic and the old fashion was top notch , Ruben really knows how to to set the mood . I recommend Armstrong jazz house to everyone and their companion . GOOOO RUBEN THATS MY GUY

Yelp
Stumbled across this small intimate jazz house on miracle mile. Such an awesome experience. They have jazz every night of the week, with open mic after the show. The ambiance is super romantic with Paris aesthetics everywhere. You definitely need a reservation since the resturant is not too big. We ordered a bottle of wine, the chicken and the conch fritters. Service was great and they definitely made you feel welcomed.
google avatar

Tanya M B.

Yelp
The ambiance is very chic, the live music was great and so needed in the Gables and Miami in general and the service was prompt and efficient. With that said, from Africa to California I am the epitome of a "foodie"! I ordered the Calamari and my companion ordered the Salmon both were sitting on top of a glutinous mess and I cannot describe the taste. Gordon Ramsey would have used the plate as a Frisbee. I am of Louisiana Creole dissent and have been to NOLA, perhaps the proprietors should take a food journey to the birthplace of jazz. Did I mention the "fries was a whole russet potato cut into quarters with a tiny dipper of regular ketchup. All for $70 , perhaps that was the entry fee?! All said, fine dining not at its best. Maybe Creole/Cajun tapas

Yelp
Stumbled upon this cute jazz house and went in for a quick drink. Our bartender/server was very welcoming. The chef gave us fresh chicken consommé and warm towels to soothe us on this rainy evening. Enjoyed the music, ambiance and our drinks. The Albariño and tea were very good. Will definitely be back for to try those Bahamian conch fritters on the menu.

Gabriella R.

Yelp
Always a good time when you get to enjoy live music. The musicians were great. The location is even better - cozy atmosphere with excellent service. Thanks Ruben. I wish the menu had more appetizers to share but otherwise what we had was good. They have a great selection of wines. This is a great spot for date night or groups of about 4.

Yelp
I was definitely underdressed when I arrived at the Armstrong Jazz House because I had no idea how gorgeous this place was inside. But what truly made me important was that I was not treated any different from any other customer, as far as I could tell.I was able to place my order with confidence since the server, Less, and his serving assistants took the time to go over the specifics of the wine and meal menu. The interior's exquisite and dark decor gave the space a feeling of sophistication. They play jazz seven days a week, and I felt as if I ought to have been paying to hear it.The artists possessed talent. You have to try this jazz house in Coral Gables. I had a great evening, so I will most certainly be back!

Yelp
I wanted to experience Jazz music , wine and cheeseboard. Well they took the cheeseboard off the menu....BIG mistake. I settle for the French onion soup. No taste. Usually in some places , too salty. Well this had NO flavor, so I had to add some of my Cabernet wine . Little options for appetizers. The music was good. I don't think I need to go back.

Yelp
Overall great hidden spot w cozy ambiance and nice music. This is this place secret weapon food is very good, but not fantastic. It does deserve a great chance for anyone's place for a celebration or a date. Note: I had a reservation but even though the restaurant was not full at that time they would not give me the seating where I wanted it. It can get really busy so a reservation is a must, especially if you'd like a great spot. I ended up staying at the bar where I felt better than squeezed against one of the tables on the corridor. On a busy night there can a lot of traffic so do get a reservation and get early for the music show. I say go.

Yelp
This place is a hidden gem! I've been telling all of my coworkers about this place because there really isn't anything like it in the gables nor coconut grove. It's so intimate, service is excellent! And the music- ahh the live music just creates such a beautiful romantic ambiance! You can also sit outside and people watch which is nice. Love this place and I'm so grateful it's close to home! Also, they have FREE jazz lessons for kids!

Yelp
Had the pleasure of returning here (please see my previous review) and it didn't disappoint! I absolutely love this spot! We went to celebrate a birthday and had a nice Italian bottle of wine, cheese plate, the delicious conch fritters (true Bahamian style-sooooo good we ordered two), skirt steak and the flavorful and delicious chicken fricassee. It was great! My friend enjoyed his first visit and we're going back soon! Thanks to Lazaro, Andres, Aida, Lloyd and the chefs made this experience memorable and the music is what it's all about so please support this beautiful spot and do say hi if you see me. Cheers and enjoy!

Yelp
This is the place that Miami needed! Amazing food and soothing jazz music made this an ideal evening. We came here to celebrate my mother's birthday, and the wonderful folks at Armstrong made it a memorable event. They made sure we were able to get a spot where we could appreciate the music, which was difficult because the place was packed! We were able to enjoy the music, which barely paused all night. Meanwhile, we enjoyed a great meal. We had the cheese tablet, filet mignon, and pavlova. Everything was delicious! Then they brought us a chocolate cake with a candle and had the band play happy birthday. Thank you Armstrong for helping my mom have a beautiful birthday. I can't wait to come back!
