"Located right by the ski slopes just above Furi gondola station, this restaurant is housed in a modern and stylish chalet that exudes rustic charm. As well as stunning views, diners can look forward to a diverse menu of delicious dishes inspired by the chef's international travels. Incidentally, the coffee comes from the hotel's own roastery and the crockery is also made in-house. For those who don't mind the long walk, it's a 1.5hour hike from Zermatt to the restaurant." - Michelin Inspector

This is a charming mountainside restaurant in Zermatt ski resort. There was a scenic outdoor deck where you can eat and soak up the sun. The day we went was a bit cold so we opted to eat inside. The Onion Soup was hearty and delicious as was the Caesar salad. The fries came with yummy sauces. Good place to eat while taking a break from skiing.

Distincly average food. I could be wrong but it feels like at some point a really good chef came in here and created a fab menu.. but that currently the menu is being prepared by someone who doesn't really know what they are doing. Presentation was poor. Flavours were all wrong. Dishes were either tasteless or overpowering. We had a variety of dishes. In particular the duck was overpowered with curry, risotto overpowered with lemon.. etc etc. Michelin starred today, this restaurant was certainly not! Also concerned to note parmesan in a dish on the vegetarian menu......parmesan is NOT suitable for vegetarians and the waiter was unable to tell us whether it was actual parmesan on the dish or fake parmesan produced with no rennet. The waiter went off to ask the chef about this, but never returned with the information😫. The other annoying thing is that when my daughter asked for some tap water to drink she was told "there isn't any" which is untrue because they obviously have water in their taps and Swiss drinking water is perfectly good to drink...The waiter then brought out a re-fill bottle of guess what.. tap water.. for which we then got charged 8chf just because it was chilled.🤣. Honestly, if you didn't laugh you'd cry. Only place to hang helmets on a snowy day was above the table so they were dripping all over our food. Little kids meal (see photo) for 18 CHF was a joke and pint of beer (also see photo) had more head on it than beer in the glass😫. This restaurant is trying to be something it's not. There are better mountain restaurants in Zermatt.

Stumbled upon this spot on our way down the mountain and decided to get snacks and were blown away! Michelin star restaurant, great menu with shared plates, cool atmosphere - we sat in the greenhouse while it was snowing and it was just magic. Got a few drinks, fries, a few of the boards, and the croquettes which were my favorite item on the menu. Phenomenal place! Also loved the dishware which you can purchase.

This place is a gem in the mountain! We came here at noon without a reservation. Luckily, they were able to seat us in exchange for us finishing up in 90 minutes. EVERYTHING was cooked to perfection and exceeded our expectations. We ordered beef cheeks, duck and rice, lamb stew. The ingredients are so fresh and they combined the flavors in a traditional way but with a creative twist. They also serve great coffee! According to them, they roast the beans in the house. Will definitely visit here again.

Food deserved the Michelin Bib, but the service was not up to par. They were incredibly slow, and got our order wrong. We arrived at 1:40 (our booking was at 2pm), but it took them 20 minutes to take our drink order. Even then, we had to flag them down. No one seemed to remember to come by to us. Then when our starter came out, it was the vegetarian platter and not the meat platter. They were really nice about it and fixed the problem, but then the rest of lunch just took forever to come. Aside from the really slow service, all the dishes were delicious! We got the octopus, the ox cheek, the cauliflower, and a lamb. For the price, I probably wouldn't come back to such slow service even though I loved the food.

I had booked the evening ride to furi on the cable car, specifically because I wanted to sled down the mountain. Then I had a total brain fart and forgot we needed to book a restaurant separately! The staff at Aroleid Kollektiv were so kind and helpful during this situation. They found me a table even though I didn’t have a reservation. Even though this restaurant apparently doesn’t provide you sleds to get back to town (again, brain fart on my end. It says so very specifically on the website I was just freaking out looking for a restaurant on the mountain and went to the first one I could find), when they saw my disappointment they literally found a sled in their back room and gave it to me. They didn’t have to do either of those things, but they went out of their way to accommodate me despite my own failings. And it made for such a special evening. On top of that, the food was really good. They have a pre-set menu; some of the items were things I would usually not order / wouldn’t think I would enjoy (raclette, a coconut dessert) but the food was all really delicious! Thank you to the staff for such a great experience!

We had a lovely lunch. The staff was very friendly and attentive. They told us their portions were made to share (on the smaller side) but we think they were a good size for lunch. The food was delicious but quite pricey.

Ever wondered what it’s like to dine inside a reality show? We found out. And spoiler alert - it wasn’t the finale we hoped for. First, let’s talk about location. Our table? Right next to the staircase leading to the main toilet door. Imagine a delicate blend of food aromas enhanced with a splash of cleaning products (Clorox, perhaps?) for that extra sensory experience. Romantic, right? Then came the waiting game. 45 minutes until the first dish arrived - not after we sat down, but after we ordered. Honestly, I’ve had Amazon deliveries arrive faster. When we finally managed to wave down some bread and butter, the bread was still frozen. A bold move. Perhaps they’re trying to pioneer the “farm-to-freezer” trend? The dishes themselves? Let’s just say the kitchen must have its own interpretation of the menu - because none of what we ordered matched what appeared on the table. And the bill? Even with a friendly discount, we almost overpaid thanks to a couple of surprise charges for dishes we never saw, let alone tasted. Key Takeaways: 1. Bring a book. Or two. Dining here is a time commitment. 2. Double-check the bill. Trust, but verify. Especially if you skipped starters —because it might still show up on the bill. 3. Keep expectations low. If Michelin stars were handed out here in 2022 or before, where are they now? Would we go back? Let’s put it this way - only if we’re feeling adventurous and need material for another story. Until then, we’ll stick to places where the bread isn’t on ice and the menu matches the plate.
