Aroma Hot Pot 朝天门火锅 is hands-down one of the best hot pot experiences I’ve had! The broth is rich and flavorful, with a great balance of spices, and the ingredients are super fresh—especially the vegetables and thinly sliced meats. The service is friendly and attentive, and the staff are happy to guide you if it’s your first time. The atmosphere is cozy yet lively, making it perfect for both small gatherings and larger groups. Highly recommend trying their signature spicy broth and dipping sauces—absolutely delicious! I’ll definitely be coming back.

I came here a couple of days ago and I’m still thinking about their hotpot. It was that good! The moment you walk in, the place smells amazing. The food bar has so many options, from noodles and fresh veggies to seafood and fish balls. Everything was super clean and fresh. The quality of the meat was also great. I used to go to Liuyishou a lot, but after trying this place, I’m switching over. This is my new favorite hotpot spot. One thing that really stood out was the service. The middle-aged uncle who served us was so kind and attentive. He checked on us often and made sure we had everything we needed without being pushy. It really made the whole experience feel warm and welcoming. It honestly makes me a little sad that there’s no line outside their doors. This place really deserves more love. If you’re into hotpot, go check them out and support a great local restaurant.

You get fantastic, fresh food, great service, and all you can eat at very affordable prices. There are variety choices of drinks including all kinds of soda, and you can even enjoy milk tea at no extra charge!

A new but definitely delicious hotpot gem in chinatown with spicy chongqing broth. We tried the basic option and had more than enough and dont forget the $4 student discount like we did. They have plenty of appetizers options, along with sauce bars, veggie, noodle, and seafood bars. The meat entries are ordered with our server. Drinks and desserts are also included. Will come back!

We had such a wonderful experience thanks to our waitress and the staff for being so kind and patient! It was our first time trying hot pot and our waitress helped us in understanding what to order, and overall was very attentive. I would definitely recommend the pork belly and lamb. I will say, don’t get the medium spicy broth unless you’re fond of heat. Maybe opt for the low level spicy, although we really enjoyed the one we got! Overall ambiance was amazing and everything was very clean. I wish we had taken more photos of our food but we were too excited to eat 🥲

This may be one of my new favorite hot pot places in Chicago. The all-you-can-eat menu is so worth it with the variety of meats, vegetables, and desserts you can choose from. The golden chicken soup broth is so rich and flavorful. The build your own sauce bar has a great selection and includes some smaller appetizers. You can also select your own sides at the buffet - mushrooms, noodles, squid, lettuce, mussels, etc. Self serve soft drinks are included. Overall, really good food and service. I’d definitely come back here again!

I remember when me and my bestie first came here before it was all you can eat and it was amazing then and even more amazing now. We really enjoyed our waiter at lunch today, he was very kind, funny and attentive. That man has a heart of gold. Otherwise, the soup was amazing..I had the golden chicken broth and its my favorite hot pot broth so far. The meat was amazing, the extra sides and sauces were fresh and stocked up. They even had milk and fruit tea on the side for us to grab. Recommend this place to everybody

Pretty disappointed with my experience at Aroma. Hot pot is my favorite meal of all time - and I am a regular at Happy Lamb. Last night, I found myself at Aroma as I had a late night hot pot craving, past the hours of operation of my usual spot. Thought I’d try something new! It was not only the generally unpleasant service where we felt that we were inconveniencing our server, but the quality of the food simply missed the mark. The broths themselves were excessively oily and lacking flavor. I was also disappointed that the buffet did not offer plain white rice - a pretty standard side dish for hot pot. The sauce station was limited, as was the buffet in general. What might be most concerning about the buffet was the hygienic standards, as tongs used to grab meats/seafood were being used to grab vegetables, introducing a risk for contamination. This morning, my boyfriend and I woke up feeling sick to our stomachs and have spent considerable amounts of time in the bathroom. Save your time, your money, and your health, and go to Happy Lamb Hot Pot - consistent and delicious every time. They have AYCE and it’s so much better.
