Loved the food at *Aroma Indian Cuisine*! The Pachi Mirchi Paneer was truly authentic and packed with flavor, and their biryani was absolutely amazing. One of the most unique desserts I’ve tried was the Mango Quinoa Kheer such a perfect ending to the meal. Special shoutout to Kishor, who was amazing and made our experience even better with his warm hospitality. Highly recommend this place if you live in New Orleans or are visiting. Definitely worth a stop!

Aroma Indian Cuisine in New Orleans offers delicious, authentic Indian food with rich flavors and generous portions. Great food! Amazing experience. They were able to customise malabar fish curry to chicken curry as I dont eat fish and boy it is amazing! The flavours just explode in your mouth. perfect balance of tangy and spicy. The chicken appetizer was amazing too. Definitely recommended.

Service is nice. Food is great. Their original curry is nice and easy flavor to try. We get the goat one, full flavor and balanced. The lentil order was nice too. Biryani lamb flavorful. Order spicy as your risk. We got everything all spicy level it’s fun! Sorry for the before photo but after should give the best answer.

As an Indian living in New Orleans, I can confidently say that Aroma Dining serves the best Indian taste in the entire city. I tried their Coconut Chicken and Chicken 65, and both dishes were absolutely incredible. The flavors were authentic, perfectly spiced, and reminded me of home. The Coconut Chicken was rich, creamy, and full of aroma, while the Chicken 65 had that perfect balance of spice and crispiness—honestly the best I’ve tasted anywhere in NOLA. If you’re craving real Indian flavors or just want to try something amazing, I highly recommend this place. Aroma Dining is a must-try for everyone! I’m already looking forward to going back.

Very good! Elegantly made. Proper indian food. The chef, Sudarshan is very good and really takes care of every order. This is one of the best Indian restaurant establishments in New Orleans

We got the pani puri and coconut shrimp as an appetizer and they were fantastic, 10/10. We got the coconut tandoori chicken as well as an entree with the butter garlic naan. Again, 10/10. It was our first time here and definitely not our last.

Great experience!! Our server, Kaif, was so attentive and accommodating - I requested the coconut curry with low spice, and he got it perfect for me. The fried corn appetizer and the gulab jamun dessert were delicious!

Hands down the BEST Indian in the city!!! I love Chicken Tikka Masala and they have theeee best I've tried in New Orleans. Seasoned to perfection, creamy, and rich. Chicken tender and juicy.. So yum! Their garlic Naan is really good, too! Service is always great-- never had an issue w| their service. Ambiance is super chill. It's a smaller spot but the food packs a great punch! If you're in the mood for Indian, I x1000 recommend Aroma on Claiborne.

Tried this place on my trip to New Orleans. As we weren't that hungry so we just tried few items here. We started off with Masala Papad and Papdi Chaat. Both the Masala Papad and Papdi chaat were delicious. We then had plain dosa which was just ok. I requested for soft dosa however the dosa served wasn't soft. Also, the dosa was served with less portion of Sambhar and peanut chutney. The ambiance was just ok. The server was shy and didn't talk much.

Great food and atmosphere. I had samosas, lamb curry, and a rice pudding that was just perfect. Go check it out for yourself.

I recently tried Aroma, and it was a fantastic experience. Every dish I had was bursting with Indian flavors, and the garlic naan was my absolute favorite side. It was warm and fluffy, just perfect. What's great is that you can adjust the spice levels to your liking. Whether you prefer mild or hot, they've got options for everyone. The service was friendly, and the ambiance was cozy. This is the second time I've eaten here in the last month and the food is delicious. If you love spicy you'll love Aroma. I ordered the Lamb Vindaloo. It's is really great. The lamb was so tender and the sauce it is prepared in is absolutely wonderful. This is a spicy dish so prepare yourself. If it's too hot for you ask for some yogurt sauce to add to the dish. It knocks down the heat some. The Chicken Biryani is also wonderful too. The wait staff was wonderful. Explaining what items had what ingredients. He brought this complimentary item similar to a potato chip that was spicy and delicious. All in all this was a very wonderful experience and I'll be returning soon to try another Indian dish.

Food 5 of 5- Fresh made to order Indian Cuisine as most restaurants of the same fare. My party of 2 and half enjoyed the Chicken Vindaloo, Fried Noodle with shrimp, saag (creamed spinach) but it has a different name and garlic naan. We some dishes spicy and we were pleased with the spice level. Might be my new spot over Nirvana uptown Service was 5 out of 5, no attitude and very attentive. We were greeted when we entered. Aroma well I would say it is a hidden gem. Tuck underneath the highway I-10, lies Aroma a modern, delicious Indian restaurant. I came here, because one the name and 2 cause I did an Uber delivery pick up and it smell so good, so it was a match. When I came in with my family we were quickly greeted and sat. Very small and not a lot of people working, but service was pretty quick. The food was amazing all of it from the sauces to the rices and the curries, this place is a must. Some of the dishes we had were Lamb Vindaloo which was so tender and perfect flavors. Btw this place is not for those who are scared of seasoning. This place has nothing bland all full of flavors. Chicken Biryani was one of our other dishes and was delicious. I love all of the spicy options. Their garlic naan and even the cracker that are served in the behind g with the sauce it's amazing. Love it and recommend it.

My review is strictly for delivery. I ordered through Uber Eats, and the food arrived earlier than expected. I've been excited to try this restaurant for years. I come from a city with a lot of great Indian and Pakistani food, and I've been disappointed in what New Orleans has to offer so far. I finally got around to ordering some food, and I was not impressed by any of the items: Samosas: Just okay, a little dry, and did not come with any chutney. Garlic naan: probably the best thing in the order. I've had better and flakier, but this was a very big portion at least. Raita: Very small portion, and watery. Noodles: Very spicy, but not much else going on. I ordered the vegetarian noodles and they're weren't any vegetables in it other than some onion and pepper. It was also supposed to come with eggs, but there were no eggs. Aside from being spicy, it was very boring. The portion was small for the price. Aloo Gobi: Not great. The cauliflower was chewy. The spice level was pretty good. The portion size was appropriate for the price. I've been struggling to find a good Indian place in New Orleans, and now that I've tried them all, I believe Taj Mahal is the best local spot. Their samosas, naan, raita, and aloo are better. I'm a vegetarian, so I cannot speak to any of the meat dishes.

Dang this place was amazing! Some of the best Indian food I've ever had! It's in a very rough part of downtown but don't let that deter you; they have their own convenient parking lot and although it's not much to look at from the outside, the inside is beautiful. Dimly lit and great ambience, feels cozy and romantic. The menu has options for every taste and diet, plenty of vegan and vegetarian options, but duh it is Indian food of course. The prices are very reasonable and the portion sizes are generous. All the food tasted very fresh and was seasoned to perfection; the flavors balanced perfectly. The garlic naan bread is a MUST to have along your meal, it was seriously so perfect, might be the best naan I've had thus far! The service was really impressive, especially considering it appeared that one server was taking care of every single diner there. We never had to wait too long for anything, they were really running a tight ship. I also saw our server be so kind and gracious to a homeless man who came in and that really warmed my heart. Good people. I will definitely be back next time I'm in town

It's a small place with a limited shared parking lot. I agree that it may be a better takeout spot. We were the only ones dining in, so the food came out pretty quickly. It was fresh & full of spices. This was my first Indian food experience & I would try it again. The garlic naan was thin & the only thing not too impressive, but paired well to dip in the chicken tikka masala. They were also kinda stingy with the napkins. The silverware came with one napkin each. My boyfriend spilled a little of his drink & we requested some extra napkins, the server kinda hesitated as if to use the one napkin she just placed on the table. (He still needed another one to use as he ate) She came back with one napkin.

Aroma never misses. Every time I've eaten here has been a delight. Chicken 65, saag paneer, malai kofta, chicken chettinad, lamb chop, butter chicken. One of few places that I get something new almost every time--everything is good.

I have never really loved Indian food, but reluctantly went to Aroma several weeks ago with friends. What a pleasant surprise! The food was way beyond my expectations! We started with an order of samosas and garlic naan bread. I had the channa masala. My husband had the lamb vindaloo. Both were delicious! We returned again recently with friends visiting from NY, one of whom has celiac disease. She had no problem finding something gluten free on the menu. She and her husband also commented that the food was delicious! In addition to great food, we had an amazing waiter, who was extremely helpful!

Tucked beneath the I-10 overpass, this restaurant does not occupy the most glamorous of locations. Get over it - this place ROCKS. Branching out from my typical garlic naan order, I tried the onion kulcha. Earthy and a little smoky in flavor, it was a nice change of pace. Y'all. The paneer tikka masala. Richly, deeply spiced with layers of complexity that tickle the palate in all the right places. Incredibly satisfying. Pure genius. Get you some.

Aroma is an apt name for this fine little establishment. As soon as we walked in, it smelled so good, I knew the food was going to be delightful--and it was. They don't seem to do dine-in as the place is not really set up for it. They have a table by the window, but it looks like their business is primarily take-out, delivery services, and catering. I tried the samosas, an amazing veggie korma (not on the menu), rice that accompanies it, and plain naan, hot out the oven with butter. Stellar, all of it. Seriously, not a bad bite in this whole meal. Best korma I've had in NOLA thus far. It was richly creamy, veggies perfectly cooked, and flawlessly spiced. Might have liked it a tad bit hotter but my stomach will probably appreciate that it was on the mild side. Prices were decent. I split the samosas with my friend, so my meal came to around 25 with the tax and tip. Next time I'll order grubhub since they're in a weird locale, right next to the freeway, but day-umm, this food was good. The staff were nice and accommodating, and asked how we liked things. We loved it, my friend agreed too.

The food is full of flavor and always fresh and made with perfection. Service is fast and I have never had any issues with any of my orders here the guys are very nice and respectful.

This was my first time trying Indian food, and it was so good! I got the butter chicken which comes with basmati rice. It's super flavorful and kind of spicy. I also got the garlic naan, which I wouldn't get again, it was pretty burned at the bottom. But I'd definitely return to try other menu items because I was very pleased by my first experience. I just got my food to-go, but there's a nice dine in area as well. It's located right across from the Dome.

Great ambience superb service and excellent food. Their meats are well seasoned without being greasy. Their tea is awesome on a winter evening. Will definitely visit whenever we are in NOL

Fantastic food, I've only gotten it via the delivery apps but it has come piping hot and delicious every time. The butter chicken might actually be the best I've had. Their prices are reasonable, too, for a good portion.

This was the BEST Indian food in the city. Not only was every single dish delicious, but the staff went above and beyond. They were as friendly as can be. Despite some qualms people may have about the location, it felt very safe and the atmosphere was absolutely immaculate. This place definitely does not get the recognition it deserve!

Went there tonight for the first time. I had been to the building before when it was another place, and I was hesitant about what the ambiance was going to be. I was happily surprised that they had renovated the whole place and it is now a beautiful space. The samosa chat was excellent as an appetizer and we had vindaloo, korma and palak paneer. Are we're fantastic and I cook Indian food regularly at home. I also loved the garlic naan. I will go back here often from now on now that I know that the decor, friendly staff and food are top notch. Kishor was our server and he took good care of us, and the host was also amazing although I didn't get his name- he even let me borrow a book!

We love Indian food, we've had it all over the world and it's one of our favorite things to seek out in new cities. Unfortunately this place definitely won't be making our list of "must come again" restaurants that we save. The spices all seemed very off and it was overly salty (we're finding that's the case with most things in NOLA so far) and weirdly overly spicy, even in things you wouldn't imagine would be spicy like garlic naan. Their Gobi didn't seem to be fried first, it was extremely overcooked and mushy and neither the Gobi or Spicy Paneer had a good sauce on it. Once again it just felt like a ton of salt and random spices went into it leaving both of our stomachs really bothered. Everything we tried was awful. Either this is what locals think this is what Indian cuisine should taste like but it's definitely not in my opinion.

Literally the best Indian food I have tasted in the city! Be mindful that when ordering over the phone they do take a while to prepare the food. I ordered the garlic naan, samosas, and the aloo gobi. The food was perfectly spiced, to where it was flavorful but not too spicy to enjoy. And the cilantro chutney that comes with the samosas is amazingly fresh!

Complex and mouthwatering food. Every dish we ordered was a delight. The inside is beautifully put together and the service was fantastic. Added plus was the bossa nova chill music and vibe.

I'm an Indian food snob after a month-long trip eating my way across Northern India. Aroma transported me back there through the spices, sauces, and yes, the aroma of the delicious dishes. Indians eat family-style, where many items are passed around and shared. The sauces are sopped up with bread and ladled over fragrant rice. For this reason, I got the bread sampler and extra rice, which paired well with the creamy umptuousness of the malai kofta cashew sauce and spiciness of the channa masala chickpea curry. The star of this meal was the chili gobi; I've been searching for this preparation for years after first trying it at a remote monastery in Bir. While not as spicy as the original, this version was still delicious, somehow transforming cauliflower into savory, almost meaty morsels. The delivery process was exceptional; quick, accurate, and packaged in reusable round containers. The portions are ample- be ready for leftovers! Would definitely order again.

I found out about Aroma over the weekend from a friend. The restaurant is a little out of my way so I ordered delivery. I went with the more well known dishes, the Garlic Naan and the Chicken Biryani. Man, when I opened the box of Biryani... the smell hit me like a Mac truck! The fragrances from all the spices and aromatics was amazing... my room still smells like a garden! The Naan was nice and garlicky, the Biryani was so flavorful with all the spices, and the chicken was tender and moist. Next time I'm ordering the lamb, because I know lamb and Indian spices are the perfect match. The best part was eating with my hands and experiencing Indian food semi-properly. The worst part... I should've bought at least 2 more orders of Naan (I ran out and had to use a fork). The food is phenomenal and well done. I forgot to mention that my order was quick, it did not take long at all. I can't wait to visit the restaurant for my next meal. And the name, Aroma, is very fitting.

Don't go. Went 2 different times in consecutive days. Both times were closed during "open hours". Don't waste your time going here. They probably won't be open and clearly don't care to serve! Very disappointed in this location being close to the city. Don't waste your time driving here. They may not be open

Food was so good our waiter kishor recommended so many good option. we only got the buttered chicken and the pepper fry with the mango lassi. everything was so good and we will definitely be back. Food 5/5 Service 5/5 ambiance 5/5

I was scrolling through UberEATS when I saw Aroma listed as a new restaurant and clicked to see their menu. I haven't had Indian food in a while so I decided to order a few things and give them a try. I impatiently waited for my food and dug in. I had ordered the lamb vindaloo, chili chicken, biryani rice, and bread basket. The lamb vindaloo is amazing! The spices in the sauce and the tenderness of the lamb paired with the basmati rice were above my expectations. The chili chicken was spicy enough to have me reaching for my drink and some naan. The bread basket consisted of butter naan, garlic naan, and onion kulcha. The butter naan and garlic naan were your typical naan but the onion kulcha was new to me. It's naan that's filled with onions, spices and herbs and I enjoyed it the most out of the three. The rice biryani was delicious and I think for my next order I'll have to get their chicken biryani. The serving sizes aren't small so I'm definitely looking forward to eating my leftovers!

This spot near my work opened last week and my coworker let me snitch a couple of appetizers. Yum! Loved both the pakora and the samosa. So today we did a big group order (via an app) and got lunch for 4 of us who are in person at work today. We picked up (and they seem to mostly be dealing with app delivery) and the space has only a couple of tables and chairs so I think they are mostly doing takeout and almost no dine in at the moment. Both staffers put on masks when we arrived. I had palak paneer and my coworkers got a variety of dishes. All are tasty. Also they have fried bhindi aka fried okra. Yum! They have been very grateful for our business both times we've been in. Indian can be hard to get in NOLA so super glad this place is close to work.

This is the only Indian place that my boyfriend and I go to in New Orleans. We've been coming here since last summer and haven't looked elsewhere because it's worth it. The food is EXCELLENT. I really like their food (portions are good too) and think the service is very hospitable. I will say there's usually a wait for to-go so definitely call ahead. Their inside isn't open yet but they are remodeling so it's becoming nicer. I would recommend this to ANYONE who's looking for flavorful, reasonably priced Indian food.10/10!

I've been there several times over the last year and it's consistently good. I would highly recommend you try their signature dishes--vindaloo, Kolhapuri, Chettimad--which are extremely well made. Watch out for the heat! Their tanduri rotis are nice and thin, and don't sit like a ball of lead in your stomach. The paintings on the walls are beautiful and quirky, but who cares about the decor when the food is that good? It's always been a very satisfying experience. Highly recommended.

I was missing South Asian food, so I decided to get some Indian. I was a little surprised to see the place was only takeout. When I went they had a little issue with the card reader. Luckily I had cash. I got butter chicken and paneer as an appetizer. It hit the spot completely. Cured my homesickness instantly. Good restaurant in NOLA.

After a long day of Mardi Gras parades and walking miles, Aroma Indian Cuisine felt like an oasis to our party of three. As we opened the door, the restaurant lived up to its name the aroma of spices wafted out and invited us in. The food was delicious; flavorful, ample and reasonably priced. The service was warm and prompt. The restaurant, though tucked under I10, was really clean and very appealing - a hidden gem indeed. I imagine returning and will recommend it.

The atmosphere is lovely, the food, fresh and delicious. Flavors not as bold as I'm used to being an Indian food connoisseur. Overall enjoyable on the other hand, Pick up this restaurant and move it to a better spot downtown. I'm sure it will thrive.

Amazing taste and a great variety of dishes. One of the best food Indian food I might have had outside of CA. They did an amazing job with the ambiance. The star is Dhal Taddka, go for it people if you visit this place. We were very pleased with the food, spice level, and taste. Very friendly staff

Amazing food and great service! We ordered paneer dish, roti and biryani and all so yummy!

We walked in and the server ignored us. We were waiting for like 20 minutes. We even asked if we should seat ourselves and he said "Wait a minute" and so we went back and waited but then two people walked in and he seated them immediately. And its not like it was packed they had about 3 tables taken and they had 5 open tables. I got up and went to the counter again. He ignored us again. Then I called my auntie because why you been ignoring me and my friends? So she came in and she was standing at the counter for a good 15 mins and he came to the counter and he was still ignoring us. My auntie asked why we weren't getting seated and he kept saying "we're busy". Sir, there's quite literally 10 people here... Its giving it was because we were black because he ignored the hell out of us and was entirely too quick to seat them two white people.

I ordered takeout from here and it was packaged amazingly. I got chicken curry and Naan they both were very delicious. I would come back.

The most legit Indian food I have eaten in New Orleans. I ordered a couple of lamb dishes, the paneer and the garlic naan, all great. The business is mostly take-out and delivery but its worth going in for as the name says the aroma hits you when you enter, it will clean out your nostrils. The food is spiced perfectly and the owner is a very nice guy.

I'm a big fan. I like my chicken tikka masala without pulp if you know what I mean. I'm not trying to have vegetables in the way when I'm smothering my naan in that sauce. Comes with a reasonable portion of basmati rice. Samosas were great. The only letdown was the cheese naan. It was described as a naan stuffed with cheese but in fact its just a naan with cheese melted on top. And my garlic naan was burnt in places. I still ate everything and will absolutely come here again.

Review based on only takeout Delicious Indian food in New Orleans! My boyfriend loves this place and used to order it at least once a week before I moved in. The butter paneer and paneer tikka masala are legit. We have had 0 complaints. The portions are big enough where we can get 2 meals out of it. The garlic naan's are also very tasty. I cannot comment on authenticity or the service, but the takeout is great.
