My husband and I drove up for a hike the day before going to a wedding, not knowing what to expect for two sober plant strong health conscious eaters for a fun little Saturday night. We found this restaurant through the Happy Cow App and it did not disappoint. We were greeted by friendly staff and seated immediately. There was a great one man band who played requests and let us sing along. The spicy virgin margarita was exceptionally made (reminded me of what they have been doing lately on celebrity cruise which is a complement btw) and my husband's athletic beer was served in the proper glass. The food choices were fresh. We started with the spicy olives, they were too hot for me so we took them home so I can put them into something creative! The pizza dough was unique (we had potatoes as one of our toppings -what!!???) and a tofu peanut hot pot... All pictured here. Tofu was done to perfection. We rounded out the meal (eaten before I remember to take pictures) with organic banana foster served with local vegan cashew ice cream!!! Brian who served as all evening was amazing 🤘☀️🙏 and the atmosphere was eclectic and delightful. We will 100% come back here and bring friends! Cheers, Ryan and Monica

We had a fantastic dinner tonight for my wife's birthday. I had the ribeye which was delicious. My wife had the salmon with a mix of mushrooms and it was so good. The rest of the menu looked so good and with so many good choices it was hard to choose which meal to pick. The staff was fantastic and really paid attention to detail. They did such a great job with customer service and really made our dinner so enjoyable. Thank you Skylar for your great service. We will be back again to try the many great options for dinner.

Google
What a marvelous night. The service was 5 star!!! Skylar, Ethan, Brian and William all were absolutely amazing. So inviting !!! The kitchen staff i gave my thanks to because my salmon dish was 10 star! I just had to tell them how amazing there cooking skills were. I got a sweet potatoes soup to go so I can enjoy it tomorrow for lunch. We will definitely be making this our once a month th outing we live In pine bush so over the mountain we will go! Best birthday dinner I could have asked for.!!!! Came back again and food was the BOMB . Coleslaw was out of this world. Service was excellent

Google
I’d give Aroma 10/5 stars if I could. I can’t believe we live 50 minutes from this place and I’ve never been there. The experience was so good that I jokingly asked my husband if we should move to Ellenville. The cocktails were selected and curated by the owners for us personally, we were able to taste a sip of a few curated tequilas before choosing which one my husband wanted it on the rocks. I had a delicious skinny style margarita. Please look at all the food pictures. The ingredients at this restaurant are sourced from all the finest places. The owners were present on site and they told us about food tours they host in the United States and abroad they find the best quality ingredients to bring back for their customers served in this amazing restaurant! We loved our steak, our octopus, and our Pinsa. I’m dreaming about the baby arugula salad. Everything was divine. Against our better judgment, we went out on Valentines night for dinner, which is something we typically avoid, but because of conflicting weather and schedules going on the holiday night was our only option. The staff breezed through the busy night with ease and we were truly impressed. We cannot wait to go back here on a regular night and just enjoy all of this goodness again there’s so many awesome and unique items on the menu that we can’t wait to try.

Google
Loved the tabletop Japanese grill and strip steak! Such a wonderful experience with my daughter cooking our tender steak at the table together. We also had the pork sliders which were amazing. Our server was very attentive and friendly.

Google
This was the perfect spot for lunch after a day of hiking! such a great atmosphere in the backyard, food was delicious, and such friendly service! Definitely stop here if you’re taking a trip to the Hudson valley

Google
Amazing experience! Dining menu is beautifully curated with bar menu being a literal book. 📕 I’ve only been here once on a friend’s recommendation. Came with 9 friends and service was efficient and friendly. I got the sweet potato soup (so delicate and well-balanced), grilled calamari (absolutely tender - disappeared off the plate) and the wild sustainable catch salmon (perfectly cooked - medium-rare - flavorful, moist and tender). One cool thing about the menu is it tells you where everything is sourced from, and whether it’s organic. It’s so rare that restaurants do this! Their small batch brewery beers are fantastic! I heard the owner curates the bar menu and specializes in Mezcals. They have a huge variety of beers, liquors and wines. Definitely want to come back, over and over, for different pairings.

Ashleigh G.

Google
The first time I’ve ever had grilled calamari. Incredible (and well-plated) !! Also has mussels and the shrimp + lobster roll. I don’t even like mussels and I ate several of these…more than a handful. They definitely have a way of playing up the flavors without relying on a bucket of grease. Lots of complimentary dips and dressings. I think my favorite thing of all was the potato salad, which came on the side of my lobster roll. Potato salad is a new love for me, but wow, this restaurant has practically recreated the concept. It’s simple, the perfect mix of creamy and chunky, and the flavors are so smooth. I would go again and literally eat a bowl of potato salad if it were on the menu The most impressive part of this restaurant, in which I unfortunately did not partake, was their wine menu. Extensive pales in the face of this book. I really wish I could have sat there, enjoying the shade, and looking through the wine bible all day. But I didn’t even touch it. I didn’t want to tease myself, knowing that I shouldn’t indulge fresh off a hike and under hydrated.

Yelp
I just went in to have drinks; however, the variety was astounding! I had a unique beer and the host let me try a very unique liquor that I had never seen before. A definite stop when we are in the area again!

Bob S.

Yelp
They shine like a beacon; a very upscale venue in a very small town. The food is excellently prepared and plated. The place has a welcoming vibe. There is outdoor seating in the back courtyard and sidewalk tables in front. Their alcohol situation is astounding. I've seen some big bars, but the wine and spirits selection here has to be seen to be believed. They are also one of the few places that can brag about signature cocktails! They don't just have a one or two page list; they have what amounts to a loose leaf that contains not only what's available, but an encyclopedia explaining the difference alcoholic beverages. They also infuse some of the liquors. There's a ghost margarita; that is not for the faint of heart or palate. Service is superb and attentive. The restaurant and restrooms are clean and well maintained. There's a birthday special. Ask for more details.

Doreen C.

Yelp
We went there for the first time, is dark and we can't see much inside. Service is good and food is just ok. We didn't love the ambiance of this place and there is not much going on in town.

Melanie S.

Yelp
Food was excellent. we chose vegan options which were enjoyed by all. owner was friendly and personable Encouraging us all to go back again.

Amanda V.

Yelp
The food tasted so fresh! My picky friend got a chicken dish and she really enjoyed it. If you knew how picky she was, you would understand that this speaks volumes about the quality! There was live music, but I could've done without it honestly. We were glad we had a little wall separating us from the stage. We ordered a brownie for dessert and we didn't like it. One bite and you can tell that it was a healthier version, I assume made with dates. It was very sticky in our teeth and we wouldn't have gotten that had we known it was a healthier version. The espresso gelato was very good, although I'd consider it more of an ice cream.

Mary M.

Yelp
Absolutely delicious! This farm to table restaurant in Ellenville exceeds expectations. I got a postcard in the mail offering a free birthday meal (if I came on my birthday) or half off if I came within the month. I was too busy on my birthday so I came for the half off. I decided to try the bread with white bean dip. It doesn't sound like much, but trust me, it was totally worth it and so good I asked for more. My main course was a perfectly cooked steak, with a side of Yukon potatoes and steamed broccoli. It was one of the best meals I have had in a long time. I ended the meal with a cappuccino. The decor was cute with vintage vibes and the servers were awesome! This restaurant was the perfect end to a lovely afternoon at the Stone Church and Sam's Point. Highly recommended.

Melissa A.

Yelp
Choices are limited food is kind of pricey$$$$ portions are OK depending what you order but if you're looking for dinner for two people that's reasonable you're probably looking at $100-$150 with drinks and appetizer and mains. Nice atmosphere, classy and elegant but definitely very pricey.

Seth B.

Yelp
Very good comfort food. Friendly, accommodating staff. Casual atmosphere. Reasonably priced. Perfect for before or after theater in Ellenville.

Wilma H.

Yelp
We were at Ellenville. They were having a raspberry festival. So we walked around the town. The restaurant was recommended to us. I like the interior they had tables but mostly booths. We ordered appetizers of slow smoked wings and a pound of garlic mussels the Herrera delicious. But also to make room for our entree. I ordered the hot pot with shrimp. It also was delicious. Left very impressed with the restaurant Victor was our server. Very professional but also a bit funny. All in all it's a good dining experience

Anthony G.

Yelp
Fantastic restaurant in a cute little town. Stopped here on Friday night while attending Ukrainian youth camp with my kids. Started with Organic Sweet Potato Soup - nice curryesque flavours with a slight kick. Very refreshing overall. My kids ordered the pear salad with chicken breast. Was surprised to witness them actually touch and willingly consume something containing blue cheese. This an event the rarity of which can be best compared to witnessing a magical white stag in the wild or acquiring cheap tickets for Taylor Swift tour. My son had the pasta special with shrimp. Pasta was expertly cooked (al dente) which is very appreciated and he loved the tomato sauce used. My daughter ordered the medium rare Ribeye which was entirely too much food for a 7 year old but she loved the sides that came with it - Roasted Garlic + Fig Vincotto + EVOO + Crushed Garlic Yukon Potatoes + Sauteed Vegetables. I once again was amazed that she consumed something with cooked garlic. She never graces me with that when I cook it. My wife and I have had a bottle of splendid Riesling from the region (sort of, finger lakes I think). In general - this place has a nice wine list We finished up the evening with dessert - blueberry crisp and chocolate cake. I would pick the cake over the crisp - mostly because I had no idea what "crisp" actually meant in that context until that time. Service was impeccable, and the atmosphere was lively. Will definitely stop by here next time I an in Ellenville.

Yelp
Interesting location, attentive service, and delicious food! One person had three appetizers for dinner. We also shared a plate of mixed olives. Yes, it costs more than you would expect for Ellenville and it's worth it! We opted to sit indoors, but good to know that outdoor seating is available.

Lauren D.

Yelp
We were at Aroma Thyme today specifically for the free How to Cook Risotto demonstration. Marcus did an excellent job explaining the different types of olive oils and vinegars while teaching us how to cook risotto and the best ingredients to use. Of course, there were delicious samples of the finished product for everyone! After the demo, many of us stayed for dinner. My husband and I shared a delicious mushroom pizza with a glass of wine and beer. They have an extensive bar menu! We thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon and appreciated Marcus and Jamie's hospitality. We'll be back!!

Yelp
Wow this place exceeded my expectations. I was in the area for my anniversary trip with my partner and all the reviews pointed to this being the spot to go to. I loved the decor. Lots of cool Knick knacks to look at and admire. The bar itself looked fully stocked and the wine list was certainly impressive. Overall the space was very warm and inviting. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and polite as well which made our experience even better. I ended up ordering the cinnamon old fashioned and wow! Just wow! Those were the words that left my mouth after my first sip. An absolutely delicious drink that I would love to have again. As our appetizer, we ordered the cheese board and the shrimp scampi bruschetta. The cheese board spread was fantastic and the focaccia (?) that came with it was the perfect vessel to transport every bite I took. Same applied to the scampi. The shrimp weren't over cooked and there wasn't a lot of acidity in the sauce which I loved. For my entree I ended up ordering the smoked strip steak pizza. It was a great portion size and incredibly delicious. I ended having a good amount of left overs for the following day. To close out our dinner we got the warm chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream. It was so good that we forgot to take a photo! This place definitely lives up to the hype! I can see why there's so much positive press about this place. If you are in the area definitely stop by.

Patricia K.

Yelp
If you are in no hurry it is a great place to meet friends. Food is hand prepared for order so it takes a little longer but worth the wait.

Lisa M.

Yelp
This place is amazing! If you haven't been, you need to! The owners are so great, the food is delish and the bartender, Dakota, is awesome! He made the pineapple jalapeño margarita for hubby with a bit less pineapple upon request, due to sugar factors...he said it might have been the Best margarita he has ever had!!! The wine selection is awesome, especially for those who know and love Italian wines!! Thin crust margarita pizza was awesome! The Cumin Papadums were so yummy! Next time I'm getting the mushroom risotto bc I know it's amazing, as I had a sample at a festival 2 weeks ago! It's so quaint and inviting inside, you feel like it's a family run business and it is!!! Can't wait to bring our friends with us next time.

Igor S.

Yelp
What a lovely place! Huge bar with so many options. William was fantastic and service was on point. Very interesting and eclectic menu. Not a single dish was a miss. Very happy we chose this place for dinner.

M P.

Yelp
An absolute gem of a restaurant! We had burgers, and the homemade touches to the menu were surprising and absolutely delicious. William, our server, had a sweet countenance and his hospitality made us feel like regulars. We will be back-- the evening paired well post-Shadowland show. We're glad places like this exist in the world.

El B.

Yelp
I like ur thin crust pizzas! Great u serve lemon water or plain choice water with meals.

Ruben G.

Yelp
Let me start off by saying my family and I were very excited about coming here. The food was ok. Had a few issues wrong with our order. The margarita "pizza" was definitely not what we expected. What upset me the most was I heard a waiter talking to a table behind me (with kids) explaining the pizza and how they could make it with a sauce. Vs making it with sliced tomatoes. If I would've known I would've done the same. When we ordered the burger the waitress asked if potatoes were ok that it didn't come with fries. So I assumed they were extra. So I said can we have fries. Then she said we don't serve fries cuz we don't have a deep fryer. *facepalm* why bring up French fries?? The ambiance was nice. I had high hopes coming in. There's no worse feeling than spending almost 300$ (with tip) and feeling unsatisfied.

Marcia B.

Yelp
Went to celebrate birthday dinner. Had a free steak dinner. Ordered a liquor drink, salad and a burger. Service was awful. Sat for at least twenty minutes and no one came to check and see if we needed anyrhing. The owner gave excuses and never apologized. We traveled 1.5 hrs to get to this restuarant. I told the owner this. I would have given the drink back it someone would have come over to us. It was awful and it cost 15.00 for that drink. I will never go back to that restaurant.

Michael S.

Yelp
A great family business. The food was very good. Everything our table ordered was terrific. The only downside was the service was slow and one of our entrees came out late from the kitchen.

Magali S.

Yelp
Cozy inviting spot with great food and a wonderful selection of wines, beers, and cocktails. My steak was perfectly cooked, and the rest of the meal complemented it.

Adrienne V.

Yelp
So very disappointing on several levels. First, my entree of black cod- my absolute favorite fish, was dry and not prepared appropriately. The sweet potato soup was delicious. When we ordered a post dinner apéritif of Amaro Montengro, we were told by the server she would check to see if they had it. Next thing I know the Amaro comes out in wine glasses and tasted like Vicks 44. When I very politely questioned the server, the owners wife came to the table and stated "You're very particular about what you order." "The server doesn't know." In her next sentence she told me the employee had been with the restaurant 2.5 years. Why not just tell us you don't carry what I requested and offer me a taste? It wasn't until I called it out that she admitted they don't carry major brands. These are burnt out restaurateurs who don't care one bit about your experience There's more, but I'll leave it at that.

Barb H.

Yelp
I enjoy the atmosphere of Aroma Thyme. It's warm and comfortable. The food has always been delicious. The service attentive and pleasant. I love to too go there.

Wanda T.

Yelp
Love this place. Great service and food. Ambiance is great as well! Can't wait to go for my birthday!

Simone F.

Yelp
Food was great. Staff was fantastic. Chocolate Martini was delish. Eggplant parm was huge.

Colleen K.

Yelp
The food and service were good. Great ambiance. I've been there many times and it never disappoints.

Marji Z.

Yelp
Everything about this restaurant is wonderful! The food was exceptionally delicious (I got the Sizzling Korean Granite Hot Pot with Tofu and a Thai Peanut sauce and my husband got the Wild Line-Caught Coho Salmon). So delicious!!! The ambience was delightful and the service was absolutely top-notch--so attentive and sweet! We will definitely be back to enjoy this sweet spot soon!

Tom P.

Yelp
Everything was fresh and delicious. They interpret classic foods and make Them unique different but familiar.

Marty P.

Yelp
Extraordinary in every way: 1) food - beyond delectable 2) setting - warm lighting, joyful vibes 3) music - best cover band I ever saw (Treasure Mountain Band) 4) owners - sincerely care about it all Where to begin? OK - from the door - first you see and feel the warm lighting, then the vibe -- like the best party you ever stumbled into -- then the food (beyond delicious; inspired!) -- then the music and all the good things it spawns, dancing, singing, cheering... Does it get better? Yeah, it gets better with the main course, the salad was epic, my wife thought the potato salad was the best she ever had, and the dessert...the dessert...blueberry crumble with berries picked that morning...Oh my....... Do yourself a favor and spend an evening at Aroma Thyme. It will fuel you on every imaginable level!

Alessandro G.

Yelp
The place is extremely friendly and warm. The menu is clear but why really excel here is the meat. The T-bone steak was amazing and the burger was fresh and of high quality. It's really a good place and maybe the best around Catskills in NY. The ambiance is very warm and looks like a real bistro. Maybe I will just use less sauce on the steak in order to have more equilibrium

Amanda W.

Yelp
Truly a hidden gem!!! So happy I found this place. The staff is so personable and nice. The drink / cocktail / liquor selection is seriously so impressive it was hard to choose. Unique variety on the menu, and everything I ordered was delicious.

lindy l.

Yelp
Nice Family owned, food out of norm not traditional cause organic but healthier!! I liked the pizzas! Cozy place, good staff I would give it a try & c for urself!

Liz C.

Yelp
It's important for restaurants to tell you that they are out of an item as soon as you order it --not wait until half an hour in. They told my husband that they didn't have any steaks, but they actually did ...and eventually fessed up that they were saving them for the birthday people who came in with birthday vouchers. It's not nice to be lied to or jerked around. Food was meh. I have been to many farm-to-table restaurants, but I was not terribly impressed with this one. Their beer and cocktail list was quite exceptional though, and the live entertainment was great.

Steve M.

Yelp
The meals are always delicious but what makes them special is that the ingredients are all fresh and locally sourced. The staff is very efficient and professional. The ambiance is intimate and informal. It's our favorite restaurant in the area!!

Teresa H.

Yelp
This place has the worst customer service I've ever had in my life. If you want to wait 55 minutes for a single salad with no cocktails (even though we ordered them), overhear servers and kitchen staff screaming at each other while clearly forgetting that there are customers in the place, and be sat on the back patio with a dying plant placed in the fire pit, you're in luck because this is your place. There really is nothing like trying to flag down a waiter when they're in the middle of a massive fight, and then having them glare at you like you've interrupted them with something important. We never got our cocktails so I can't review something that never existed. But I can review the salad, which came to us wilted and was truly the most low-mid pear salad I've ever had the misfortune of tasting. If you value your time, money, and experience I highly suggest checking out literally any other restaurant in the area. At least the McDonalds will get you your food quickly.

Michael M.

Yelp
There's lots to take in at Aroma Thyme. My wife and I have been to eat here twice, and will certainly come back for more good times. Atmosphere: Each meal I've enjoyed here is quiet and peaceful. Not silent, just meaning that the music doesn't hit you over the head and the staff have a good enough sense of what they're doing that your meal doesn't seem rushed or eaten in a hectic pace. Service: We had William as our server the second time, and he along with the other staff did a wonderful job. In the Mid-Hudson region it's not easy to find a restaurant where the staff know when to bus dishes, ask what you need or just when to leave you alone. Aroma Thyme's staff has these simple things down pat. Food: I haven't had a bad mouthful of food from this restaurant. From the greens, to the way a steak is cooked, to seafood dishes, it's all prepared very well. Your food arrives at your table hot and in a good amount. This isn't a place where you'd go to get served heaps of food that is just meh. Come here to celebrate what is on your plate. Beverages: The variety of wine and beer both on tap and by bottle, can or glass is impressive. From what I've heard from the staff, the owners have good relationships with many vineyards and breweries in the region and that shows in their selection. In fact they arrange tours as well, something you'll find out about when you get brochures along with the bill. Anyway, a good place to mark a special occasion or just get a good meal for sure. Enjoy!

Elizabeth V.

Yelp
I picked up 2 Turkey dinners on Thanksgiving and the Turkey was plentiful, moist, and delicious. The sides of creamed corn, sweet potato purée, mash potatoes, cut up yams, were delicious, too. I liked the Manhattan Clam chowder, too. All were very reasonable and we were greeted with a smile. I recommend this restaurant for food and service.

Arlene W.

Yelp
Food was delicious, service by William beyond reproach. Ambiance was delightful, very quiet and elegant. A wonderful evening!

John D.

Yelp
This restaurant hits all three the food is great service excellent ambiance is quiet and peaceful

Moe R.

Yelp
Second visit, but the last time was three years ago. The menu is considerately different but the feeling is much the same. And the quality remains excellent. I was hoping to get the smoked meat loaf I loved so much last time but it was not available tonight. The menu varies considerably. We went with a spicy olive appetizer, which was only a tiny bit spicy; just olives, really. Our server said many people report it as quite spicy; I think the preparation must vary. Regardless, I don't mind. It was a very generous serving of firm, fresh tasting olives. I would still order it but don't expect much of a kick. The tikka masala chicken was saucy and flavorful. Not the level one would get at a good Indian restaurant but excellent for a bistro. The smoked pulled pork tacos were outstanding. Richly porky and smokey, with lots off fresh avocado. This was an A+. The fig and arugula bacon pizza was a personal-sized pizza on a thin, crispy crust. The bacon was more like pork belly and that is a good thing. Like the pork in the tacos, it was highly porky and smoky. It was perfectly balanced by plenty of sweet figs (where did they get them in February?!?!) and a giant heap of fresh arugula. The service is top notch. We didn't like our cocktail (felt it was too sweet) and they remade it cheerfully. Last time, I reported that the place was dark; I think they have since added more lighting over the tables an it was perfect. Dark enough for ambience but I could see what I was enjoying.

Lily B.

Yelp
William was our server and was exceptional! Very kind and helpful from the second we walked in. Accommodated my food allergies and gave excellent recommendations. The brisket was the best I've had and the brownie with Cashew cream Gelato was amazing!! Beautiful resting decor.

Frank V.

Yelp
Saw the reviews for this place and we were excited to go. Spent most tof the day at wineries. Pros: Atmosphere. Cons: When the staff found out that we only wanted Saratoga sparkling water the service was nonexistant. Ordered the 48? hour brisket and it was dry and tasted like it was left out for another 48 hours and not a fan of a lot of fat. Pizza was good. That's about it. Being ignored by the wait staff and the food, we were glad to leave.

Diane O.

Yelp
The food is delicious and the Sangria is excellent. This restaurant can compete with any restaurant in Manhattan. If you are near Ellenville NY it's worth a visit

Rachel J.

Yelp
I haven't gone since I was a little girl, I decided to go for my birthday since I got a free steak dinner. BEST Resturant EVER!!!! Everything was incredible including the staff.

Helen M.

Yelp
As always, we were greeted and seated with kindness and enthusiasm. We both ordered the specialty cocktail, Limoncello Spritz, which was delicious and light for a late summer afternoon. We shared an appetizer, as an entree and a burger, as well as sauteed vegetables and onion potatoes on the side. Everything was delicious and cooked perfectly. Our server William, was attentive and offered suggestions to help improve our meal... and he was correct. We love coming here after a show at the Shadowlands Theatre... also highly recommend BTW!

Charlie G.

Yelp
First time visiting Aroma Thyme bistro. My wife and I had had a raving recommendation from a couple we met elsewhere. Comfortable, casual atmosphere, great jazz 2-piece. The bar and drink list is quite extensive and big brand liqueurs are not on the list. Rare, aged beer list, while not my thing was interesting, but expensive. The owners have a passion for mezcal, and we sampled several. We ordered 3 appetizers and a salad. The pear salad was great, the other items were ok. (Why only 4 stars.) Our server, Kaity, was great. Very enthusiastic, pleasant, and did a great job!

Philip S.

Yelp
Excellent food. The ambiance is lovely and the service was flawless. The Mongolian Chicken was exceptional.

Connie B.

Yelp
April 4, 2024 we ate at Aroma Thyme Bistro, I always wanted to eat inside a give an honest review. Well they lived up to their reputation, we were greeted promptly and we started off with cocktails and I ordered the spicy pineapple margarita it was really good! We then shared a very tasteful pear salad it was big enough for the three of us and it was very tasteful. All the main dishes (2 salmon and ribeye steak) was cook to perfection and I was surprised how many fresh vegetables were on each plate). The waiter was very attentive and made our dining experience very enjoyable.
