True to its name, it was the scent that turned me back. I’d already walked all the way to the corner before the smell of sweet things baking pulled me round and sent me retracing my steps to Arôme.
It’s a small café, but the service has that rare energy — personal, attentive, the kind that feels like I could be the owner and I really do care. A cut above. And so were the bakes.
From café to café, bakery to bakery, so much can blur into the same-old, same-old. Not here. The cheese and tomato danish with pesto, the vegetarian quiche and the genuinely yum honey toast were delightful; not just a belly full.
Only small gripe: the flat white was closer in size to a double espresso and could have been more generous.
Still — this will be a regular stop whenever we’re in the area. Highly recommend for a hot-drink pit stop and a good pastry.
