3 Best Day Trips From Copenhagen

"Established in 1859, ARoS is one of the oldest public museums in Denmark. It has a host of impressive exhibits, but one of the most famous is the rainbow panorama, a rainbow-colored glass walkway that sits on the building's rooftop. Also, the ARoS FOOD HALL is reason alone to visit the museum. Located on the top floor, the light-filled restaurant offers a selection of freshly baked breads, cheeses, and other delicious Danish bites made from local ingredients. They even have their own rooftop garden and hive, which delivers superb honey. As one of the largest art museums in in Northern Europe, this is one you don't want to miss." - Mary Holland

Really beautiful museum with a lot to explore. Additional highlight is the rainbow walk on top of the building with great views. Also a really nice cafe and museum shop.

Very enjoyable place to visit, I enjoyed all the exhibits. Some I refused to photograph as it felt wrong due to their themes of media consumption and twisted media. I'll definitely return when I'm back in England.

Been here several times, enjoyed every visit. For people living in Aarhus/surrounding areas its much more recommended to buy a yearly membership - it costs less than two tickets, and allows you to enter the gallery for free with your guest for a whole year. There is a cloakroom, where you can get a safe with 20 kr deposit (in cash). If you dont have 20dkk coin, you can get a token from machines standing there. Also love the adorable boutique and café on ground floor, I almost always stop by there to look around the cool things they are selling or just drink a warm coffee in cozy atmosphere.

Interesting and impressive gigantic baby picture on façade that attracts people at first sight! Spiral staircase as a orientation center is definitely a smart idea in interior space. I appreciate that Spiral integrates with curved walls together has dancing thru the space that softens the feeling in the big white cold room. It’s a nice place to visit some different themes of modern art. Besides the top floor color corridor is a MUST to experience.

What a fascinating place. We spend 5 hours in the museum including 3 girls between 7 and 10. I wouldn’t have thought that even the kids were that thrilled. Exhibits are versatile, interesting and all but boring. The rainbow walkway at the top is a magic world on its own. I couldn’t stop taking pictures. See my photograph contribution. The section for the children drafting and leaving messages kept our kids excited. This is an environment where I could spend all day. Entrance prices were reasonable but not cheap. Allow some good time to explore the whole museum.

Hands down the most spectacular art museum I’ve ever visited. The place is massive, with 10 stories and tons of exhibits, you could easily spend several hours here. The panoramic rainbow view at the top is incredible. The cafe is a delightful place for a coffee or quick bite to eat, and the workers are very friendly. Don’t forget to checkout the exhibits in the basement! If you’re in Aarhus you absolutely cannot skip this museum.

The most aesthetically pleasing art museum/exhibition venue in Denmark, with an open and inviting atmosphere. The staff is courteous and accommodating, making it an ideal location for families, couples, and educational excursions.

What a beautiful museum. The collection was very unique with a decidedly modern esthetic. The building itself was very much a part of the experience. I wish we had more than one day to enjoy. Hopefully we'll make it again someday.
