Buckle up people, this review is pretty long.
Going back from their earlier reviews, it seems that they have improved some things that people gave them low stars for. For me, I enjoyed this cute little family owned cafe. There are a lot of knickknacks on the shelves you could buy as little souvenirs, but it also adds to the shop decor and the menu has a wide variety to choose from.
For the food, I thought it tasted good. We sipped on yummy vanilla lattes while we waited for the rest of our order. My husband and I split the egg breakfast and #2 crepe. The egg breakfast came with scrambled eggs, bacon, and potatoes. I really enjoyed the thin and crispy bacon. The #2 crepe had Nutella, strawberries, bananas, and whipped cream stuffed in it. It was 2 crepes on one plate, so there was a good bit to eat if you only ordered that as your meal. We were stuffed at the end of our meal!
Our service was pretty solid until it got busier, but not bad to where we had to wait ages for our stuff or were missing a lot. We had, what I'm assuming, the oldest son as our server. He was very nice and got us our first latte and water right away then took our order. As more people came in, you could tell he was getting flustered and tables were missing very minor things like sauces and sometimes it would take a minute for a refill. The youngest son came out to help serve and also had wonderful customer service, making sure his tables were taken care of properly, and was so kind to a little boy he was serving making sure he enjoyed his hot chocolate. Very sweet moment.
THE ONLY REASON why I would have taken a star away is for the dad. Now he wasn't a tyrant or rude, but as it got busier he clearly got frustrated and you could hear him huff and puff as he would go back to the counter, which I'm sure made his sons more tense as they were serving everyone. He would then go to the corner to play his guitar, which sounded nice, but I was puzzled as to why he would do that when the place was pretty busy and he could have checked in on tables.
As he was ringing us up, he called it back to my husband and said 3 lattes instead of 2. My husband corrected him and the dad proceeded to bark at his son for getting the order wrong. We almost ended up paying for it because it was such a minor mistake that we didn't want the son to get in trouble.
Overall, I think we will be back again!
