Visiting the Art Aquarium Museum in Ginza felt like stepping into a dream. The way they combine light, sound, and movement with goldfish is really unique—it’s not just an aquarium, it’s like walking through an art installation. I loved how the tanks are shaped in creative designs and how the colors change to give different moods. The atmosphere is stylish and very photo-friendly, especially for anyone who enjoys capturing artistic shots. My favorite part was how they mixed Japanese traditional designs with a modern vibe—it really made the space feel special. On the other side, I did notice that the whole place is focused only on goldfish, so if you expect a big variety of sea life like in other aquariums, it might feel limited. Also, it can get a little crowded, especially on weekends. For me, though, it was worth visiting. It’s the kind of place where you don’t just look—you actually feel the art.

It was a cool experience but a pretty short one. It only took us 20 minutes to walk through and we definitely took our time to see everything. Some of the fish seemed on the edge of death, looking very sad and we even saw one floating upside down. But, for $18 a ticket, it was worth the price.

Visited the Art Aquarium Museum at Ginza and really enjoyed the experience. The goldfish displays are absolutely beautiful—each tank is like a living piece of art, with creative lighting and design that make the whole place feel magical. I loved how the museum blends traditional Japanese style with modern art; it’s unique and really photogenic. The space isn’t huge, so it doesn’t take long to walk through, but every section is thoughtfully put together. I do wish it was a bit bigger or had more interactive elements, but overall, it’s a great spot for a quick, memorable visit in Tokyo. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for something different and visually impressive

Tickets should be bought early to save time incase its super busy, otherwise there is a ticket machine with staff to guide you through the process. The exhibit took ~40 minutes but my group dragged our feet through it as much as possible to experience as much as we could. The exhibits are all cool but they are a goldfish only aquarium. They have almost? All types of goldfish there and the displays are very beautiful. Unfortunately I don't believe proper care was taken on some of the exhibits as some dead goldfish were not cleaned out of the tanks and it was under a significant amount of decay already... Overall very cool but very short, perhaps not worth the $25 CAD.

🐠 A magical blend of light, color, and nature — true art in motion! 🎨 The ART AQUARIUM MUSEUM in Ginza is an incredible place where aquariums are transformed into stunning art installations. Each section of the museum is a unique composition of live goldfish, creative lighting effects, and elegant Japanese design. The atmosphere is simply enchanting! I was especially impressed by the transparent sculptures, the lighting synchronized with music, and the interactive displays that create a sense of peace and harmony. Everything feels like a living piece of art — a perfect place for inspiration and reflection. The staff is friendly, the space is clean and well-organized. The museum isn’t huge, but every step offers a new visual experience. I recommend visiting both during the day and in the evening — the lighting becomes even more magical at night. It’s a wonderful spot for a date, a family outing, or anyone who appreciates beauty in unique forms. Without a doubt, it’s one of the most aesthetically pleasing places in Tokyo! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Very cool experience, akin to Teamlabs Planets but the animals involved probably don't like it as much as the visitors. I'm no expert but this didn't really look animal friendly... The merch you can buy is very cool though 👍🏻👍🏻

This exhibition is located inside a shopping mall, so it’s not too difficult to find. You should buy tickets online in advance to make things quicker and more convenient. The exhibition only features freshwater goldfish. It’s not very diverse in terms of fish species, but it’s quite creative in how the tanks are arranged and how each artistic cluster is curated. The goldfish here are really cute. They also display some beautifully designed tanks—I especially loved the pink one with cherry blossoms. The interior space has a strong Japanese vibe. I don’t think it’s an ideal place for taking photos. The lighting is quite dim to highlight the beauty of the fish tanks, though in some areas, they’ve set up designated “photo spots” with better lighting for visitors who want to take pictures. I think that’s a thoughtful touch in their service. Near the exit, there’s a small souvenir shop selling jewelry, decorations, and snacks. I bought a cute little fridge magnet. The price was a bit high, but I thought it’d be nice to have something to remember the visit. I really liked it, even though it was a bit small. It’s worth visiting at least once for the experience.

This aquarium in Ginza Mitsukoshi Department Store was not worth the 2700 yen! It’s a huge display of unique goldfish. Honestly, by the time we left, we felt sorry for the fish trapped in small containers with bright illuminating lights in otherwise darkened rooms. It wasn’t what I’d call an aquarium or art.
