Sonserae is a highly skilled and energetic art teacher to my daughter. In one year’s time she has really developed her drawing and painting skills. Highly recommend.

My daughter has been taking individual classes with Sonserae for a few months now and we are really happy with her progress. Sonserae is an amazing teacher and wonderful hearted person! She is very special to us, especially for our daughter! As a teacher, she always establishes a fun, enjoyable and relaxing atmosphere for her drawing class. For instance, one of my daughter's favorite class activities is she turns on classical music to play during the session. They are good fit and click with each other as teacher and student. 😊😊 She has a very detailed and organized teaching system for learning to teach kids and adults alike how to draw as well as having a long-established career as a professional artist. As a result, my daughter’s drawing skill has had significant improvement! It’s so amazing to see her drawing progress in just a short period of time! The thing I mostly admire about her as a teacher is that she is always well-prepared and has numerous teaching materials including slide shows, videos, and printed exercises for her students. Her curriculum is very well-structured and effective, and she selects various multimedia resources to enhance her lessons. She also has vast knowledge and experience when recommending the best art supplies to use for the best value. Currently, she helps my daughter with her OCSA application for Visual Art Dept. Sonserae’s positive encouragement toward my daughter in preparing her pieces is very beneficial and significantly impacts on her and inspires her in her drawing prep process. “THANK YOU” is such a small phrase to express our feeling for all she has done! She is wonderful person and highly recommended!

Sonserae is truly an amazing teacher. She gently guides her students, step by step, to build their skills and confidence as artists in the making. She is a talented artist and teacher who I would strongly recommend to anyone and everyone looking for fine art instruction at the highest level.

My daughter wanted art classes where the teacher would actually spend time teaching the basics and then learn more complex concepts, skills, and techniques. We had tried several teachers/classes. All of them just "let the students express themselves however the student wanted" without teaching the fundamentals. This unstructured approach was completely ineffective. I called Sonserae to ask her about her instructional philosophy, and I was relieved! She assesses the student and tailors her teaching approach so that students can learn what they need to realize their art goals. Sonserae is a true teacher. If you are serious about developing as an artist, I wholeheartedly recommend her.

I’ve had Sonserae Leese as an instructor since May of 2022. In just a span of 7 months, in which I took two hour-long classes a week, she took me from an absolute beginner, to being able to draw a photorealistic self-portrait. She’s earned my highest regard, and my highest recommendation. If you want to learn to draw, Sonserae Leese is the woman who will help you achieve that goal with constructive feedback, encouragement, praise, compassion, diligence, and patience. As a senior citizen, now retired, I have always wanted to take drawing and watercolor lessons. I was lucky enough to notice on a "Nextdoor" posting by Sonserae Leese that she was offering private art lessons. She has an extensive art background. I started art lessons in February 2019 with no previous experience drawing except for water coloring as a child. In the short time I have taken lessons, there has been a noticeable difference in my attempts to draw with pencil and pastels. Sonserae is an excellent instructor and has a teaching style that simplifies the steps for students like me to apply the knowledge she has demonstrated. Sonserae has a tremendous background in watercolors and I am looking forward to her sharing her techniques and knowledge in future lessons. Attached are two drawing projects that I have completed while under her tutelage. The first project is after four months of instruction (apple) and the second after six months.

Sonserae has been tutoring our daughter for almost six months. Granted our twelve year old has had years of fine art education in a private studio setting, Sonserae still managed to add tremendous value - she improved our daughter's fundamental skills, as well as provided key insights into how to be more effective, and this in turn has improved confidence of an already good young artist that wasn't too sure of herself. The best gauge of any business is client's desire to be a repeat customer - and our almost teenager that you couldn't get to do a single thing she doesn't like has been going back to the well every week for past six months and has every intention in continuing to do so going forward. As a parent, I appreciate Sonserae's scheduling flexibility, appointment promptness, and somewhat reasonable pricing - although I recon that the price is always in the eye of beholder. As a half of a funding end executor of a parents-child team, I intend of entertain the continued engagement - especially having seen the marked improvement in our daughter's drawings over time to an amateur's eye, continued enthusiastic engagement, and improved confidence.
