The 25 Best Things to Do in Bermuda

"It would be unwise to visit Bermuda without sampling the local delicacies, and for most Bermudians, a fried fish sandwich—fish pon bun—is one such delicacy. You’d be hard-pressed to find a pub around the island that doesn’t offer some riff on the sandwich, but for the real deal, make your way to Art Mel’s Spicy Dicy, a (way, way) back-of-town outpost dishing out one of the finest sandwiches on the island. Even chef Marcus Samuelsson, who has his own restaurant on the other side of town, still considers Art Mel’s signature offering a stellar bite." - Katherine Cusumano

"Art Mel's Spicy Dicy The fried fish sandwich, served on raisin bread, from Art Mel's is a Bermudan tradition. But watch out, that scotch bonnet tartar sauce is HOT!"

A very busy place for takeout. Classic Bermuda Fish Sandwich on raisin bread with tartar sauce, a bit spicy, zero real parking here. Fish Sandwich was huge and awesome. I could only eat half & saved the rest for later. My wife had fried shrimp and fries which were excellent, crispy and not greasy. The atmosphere is from the smile you get when your order is handed to you. A must visit location when you're in Bermuda. You can order ahead. Cash only, basically no parking, just run in and grab your food. There is no seating either. Just tasty takeout. You will need to find somewhere to go eat, nearby Spanish point park is just a 7 min drive away

We came in on Saturday and got the Wahoo fish sandwiches! One traditional way and one made to order and fries. The lady at the front desk was soooo sweet and also the gentleman in the back! She let us try the gingerbread and I have been eating that every morning! So good! The fried chicken was some of the best we have ever had!!! You definitely have to try this place! We will be back!!!! Whoever the lady was at checkout THANK YOU SO MUCH! You were so kind and sweet to us! Please come to Texas and drive on the right side! lol

Do yourself a favor and don’t skip Art Mel’s for their spectacular fish sandwich!! We weren’t sure what to expect with the raisin bread but it was a 10/10 across the board - sweet, a little heat, crispy and crunchy!! And do not miss out on Da Smith’s sherbet - we had the privilege of trying the virgin punch and it was incredible! My mouth is watering just writing this review. Go take a quick taxi ride like we did and see these fabulously kind people. Your belly will thank you

Wow. We braved a rainstorm to get to Art Mel’s given the rave reviews about their Fish Sandwich. Art Mel’s does not disappoint. With friendly service and generous portions, one sandwich was perfect for the two of us. Make sure you get coleslaw on the sandwich with the raisin bread. Place is cash only and standing room only. Parking is out front on the street. A phenomenal Bermuda experience. I can’t have a fish sandwich from anywhere else.

Hands down, in my humble opinion, the best fish sandwich in Bermuda. Service was top-notch. This is a family run business, and they treat everyone with a happy smile and heart-felt gratitude for your stop. When I return to Bermuda, this will be one of my first stops.

The sandwich was huge and delicious. Just a heads-up: either there isn’t an extraction fan or it wasn’t working, so you’ll probably leave smelling like fried calamari. Still, the food makes it worth it.

This is hands down the best fish sandwich in Bermuda and I'm saying that as somebody who lived there for six months. Call ahead and order, take a taxi there, and have your taxi driver wait for you outside as it's not an easily accessible location. It is worth every dollar! I would recommend sharing the sandwich since they are ginormous.

Tiny little place in Hamilton that is worth seeking out. We walked here from the ferry, but I don’t recommend doing that. We took a taxi back! Amazing fried fish sandwich served on homemade raisin bread. I know what you’re thinking—raisin bread?? This raisin bread was fantastic! It really enhanced the flavor of this extremely large, fresh fish sandwich. Service was top notch and the staff was sincere and friendly. Can’t wait to go back!
