Arte Hostel

A beautiful haven in Popayan, a block away from the busy streets so it is very quiet with no sounds of traffic but only a 2 minute walk into the centre. The room had lovely side lights (a change from the blinding single bulb most places have) and a comfy bed (although pillows weren't great). The guest kitchen was one of the best we have used!! Lots of toilets and showers so you are never waiting. A nice lounge area and an outside smoking area. The staff were so friendly! We were catching a night bus to Bogota and they stored our bags for us the whole day and let us cook dinner there before we left. Would really recommend!!

This is a great spot to stay in Popayán. It's very comfortable and has a nice little egg and bread breakfast every morning served by a very friendly woman. The hammocks in the back are cozy and the WiFi is solid. It's close to the center but on a quieter street. What's not to like?

This hostel was mediocre. The washroom was a bit old. It was open air and no heat or AC. I originally got assigned to a room full of what looked like students and was a bit creeped out by the vibe. Luckily they reassigned me to another hostel room without me asking. Also there are no lockers in the room. Only on the outside and it’s small so it would not fit a backpack.

When I arrived at this hostel at 5 in the morning the receptionist let me know that they would have a free bed for me at 12 and that I could wait in the general area until that moment. So I did. At around 8 or 9 they informed me that they unfortunatly would not have a free space for me and that I had to look for another hostel. They still charged me 12000 pesos for 'use of the common area". A full night in this hostel costs 19000 pesos I believe. So I had to pay almost 65% of the price for a full night to sit/lay down on a hard bench in a cold common area. When I tried to talk to the manager for a 2nd time about this she was 'not available' anymore. I stayed in lots of hostels all over the world and never has anything like this happened to me before. In the end I found another very nice hostel around the corner where I would recommend people to stay

We arrived in small hours without reservation (long story, bad luck...). They let us in and saved us from endless walk around the town. The room was clean, comfortable and big enough. Thank you!

Nice hostel with great stuff. The location is perfect, just a 5 minutes walking distance from the city center. It has a nice back patio with herbs free to use for your cooks.

All about the money. Did not appreciate them saying they had a place for my friend at 12pm and then they did not have but charged him 12k for waiting on the sofa 2h in the hostel. I have never seen that in mostly a year I travel. Esp it was their mistake at the end saying there was place when there wasn't...

A nice place with several spots for guests to feel like at home. Rooms are alright, comfortable beds, but no private bathrooms.
