Did a weekend adventure with the family to the Artechouse in Washington, DC. Went into the experience with an open mind and high expectations. It did not disappoint. From beginning to end my family and I were mesmerized by the entire experience. If you are looking for a great family friendly place, this is it. My kiddos from ages 14 to seven loved it. There is plenty of space so you’re not tripping over anyone. The only issue is that for small kids the lights could cause some “over stimulation.” Totally rate this a 10/10 for a reasonable ticket price, professional staff and generous parking for a fee. Within walking distance of the Salamander Hotel, and the National Mall, you can make a day of adventure out of it. Enjoy!

Google
Easily one of my favorite art galleries in the area due its use of combing technology with art. It’s sad to see the building temporarily close, but I can only imagine the renovations will be worth it. The venue was a bit small, but it was amazing seeing a good artist make full use of the large entrance room.

Google
It wasn’t worth the ticket price. It made us both dizzy and nauseous. They do have little benches to sit down, which was nice. They also have interactive screens that we couldn’t figure out. They give discounts to nurses, first responders, military, educators, which was nice. They also have bathrooms.

Google
Really cool immersive experience! Could have hung out in the main room for a very long time. Side exhibits left a bit to be desired and not all of them worked as they seemed to be intended. Additionally, if we were going to go back, we'd likely try to go late so as to not have the experience disturbed by loud kids running back and forth. Best deal by far was the date night package which includes a cocktail per person.

My husband took us here during our anniversary trip. It was so relaxing and calming inside. The colors were vibrant and it wasn't too crowded. It's a small exhibit but you didn't feel like you were on top of each other. Check it out !

Google
This is definitely a unique experience. Unfortunately for me it was a bit small for the cost. It was kinda interactive but it took a bit of explaining to really understand the purpose. I went to a similar one in Vegas and it was outstanding. This was definitely more visually stimulating, but it lacked a theme for each room. We were able to walk through the entire showroom in less than 30 minutes. I expected a bit more.

Google
One of our favorite quick visit stops when in SW or the general National Mall area. Generally you'll enter with a group at your entrance time. A staff member will walk you through what you should expect to see. The experiences rotate every few months so it doesn't get stale but I've noticed they bring back the same or similar experiences around major holidays like Christmas or Spring/Cherry Blossom season. On an accessibility note, there's an elevator to the bottom level and a wheelchair lift to the main level of the experience. There's a large room and two smaller sides with interactive components. There's also a bar but no food! Tickets can get pricey. Check Groupon for deals!

We had a wonderful day in Washington, D.C., starting with an easy parking experience and a delicious lunch at the Salamander. I visited ARTECHOUSE with two of my girlfriends and absolutely loved the Monet Immersion experience. The exhibit was stunning, engaging, and truly one of a kind. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a unique and inspiring outing!

Yelp
Artechouse is such a fun locale to go to when the seasons are changing. This cherry blossom season was Isekai. My group and I were held up by traffic and subsequently had car trouble leading us to be late for our original time slot, but we were allowed to switch our time and they solved that issue for us no problem. The exhibit itself was cute upon entry. There was an anime theme and chaotic integration of cherry blossoms and city structures. The bar itself had some potent theme drinks. I definitely recommend getting the date night tickets if you plan on getting any drinks as the price difference of adding a few dollars onto your ticket $34 (drink and admission) vs the $16+ drink and admission $31...its a no brainer....too bad I didn't use my brain that day lol. I will say, this exhibit did not wow me like the past exhibits. Although the concept of Isekai is to be otherworldly, portal fantasy like random and no congruence....it felt more like someone was a fan of Japan and just listed random Japanese-esque things and brought them to the exhibit. The visual experience was grand upon entry and then once you explored it, those views diminished. There was a cool robotic arm that drew anime inspired artworks, an interactive futuristic representation of a virtual person from Japan (that was supposed to speak to the guests but it wasn't as responsive as what it appeared), and a karaoke room that was set up nicely to be interactive (but didn't actually function). On the other wing of the exhibit was this little portal that dree the viewer deeper and deeper into the picture...but it was only one one small space of the wall. I guess my disappointment lies with the utilization of the space compared to other exhibits where it's been functional, expansive, and stimulating to the hilt. I was happy it was open after our brunch at nearby LA Vie, I just wished it was a bit more cohesive and thoughtful. I'll still go back because Artechouse itself is great, just this exhibit needed some working through.

Yelp
I'm visiting from out of town and my friend wanted to check out this immersive experience, hoping it'd fill the void left by missing TokyoLabs. Spoiler alert: it didn't. But if you're into a quick 20-minute blitz of cherry blossoms and zipping through cities via portals on a giant screen, this place might just be the mental palate cleanser. Pro tip: snag the ticket + drink combo. The drinks are as gimmicky, but the mixologist seems to have had an actual brainstorming session over the flavors. Plus, by my girl math (and she's never wrong), it's cheaper than your average city cocktail. Now, the downside: the rest of the exhibit could really use a facelift. It's like they started with grand ideas and then just... forgot about them. Definitely needs some TLC.

Yelp
I have been to Artechouse a few times but I thoroughly enjoyed by experience when I went to see the Cherry Blossom Exhibit Isekai: Parallel Blooming Worlds. Unlike most museums in DC this one is not free, it costs $25 per person for the experience. The current exhibit is inspired by the Isekai genre of anime & manga, it brings the enchanting beauty of Cherry Blossoms to life through alternative universes filled with adventure and wonder. The main room projection was my favorite as it took you through various worlds and showed the cherry blossoms in such a unique light. The other rooms also had cool interactive exhibits. Overall this place is family and kid friendly, it's a really cool way to experience art and has at least one cool thing for everyone to enjoy. It is on the smaller side so it may not be for everyone or might feel underwhelming compared to other museums. I love how they also have a bar which serves Cocktails & Mocktails, these are normally seasonal and they match the theme of the current exhibit. I had a delicious seasonal Cocktail called the Sakura It had: Japanese Gin | Prosecco | Strawberry | Basil | Citrus They also have Merch which is available to purchase upstairs and there's staff present to help you out if you have trouble figuring out how to interact with the exhibits. They have bathrooms available, and it is also wheelchair friendly as they have elevators.

Yelp
I came to see the Isekai exhibition because it seemed beautiful. The main exhibition/movie was interesting and fun to watch. There were some unique, interactive exhibits. The space was smaller than I anticipated. I want to wager that this hinders the opportunity to create more interactive exhibits. I would be satisfied with the sticker price if there had been more of them. I had fun there because of the company I had. Therefore, one is better off visiting with a partner or a friend for a better experience unless something changes/improves.

Yelp
Came here for the cherry blossom/anime Isekai exhibit. Thought it was pretty cool though I guess I didn't know what I was getting into. The main attraction is a big video projection room with like 20 minutes of animations that loop. Then a few interactive exhibits on the sides, but not much. It wasn't cheap, but it was a different kind of experience. Would I come here again? I'm not sure. Currently leaning towards no, but I guess it depends on what their next exhibit would be. I was told that other Artechouses have more physical space so they can show more things, a situation I think would probably get me to come back.

Yelp
Really great small galley experience with incredible interactive art features (depending on the exhibit). They do timed entry so the exhibit doesn't get too packed but I recommend going earlier I. The day so that you have less competition. There are elevators and lifts for accessibility purposes. For those who are light sensitive, I'd think twice about attending as the main exhibit which has images projected on three of four walls. There is a lot of motion in the main gallery wall (in the exhibit wall) so may have a similar effect or sensation to strobe lights

Yelp
I recently went to ARTECHOUSE for the first time, specifically to see the "Beyond the Lights" exhibit. I had bought February tickets with a 9 PM admission for the exhibit back in December. Imagine my surprise when I show up in February and...ARTECHOUSE was closed. Apparently they had changed their hours, just for that evening, but hadn't thought to notify me. I was incredibly disappointed, especially because they had sent me a reminder email about my tickets the evening before. Why the reminder if they were closing? After I contacted the support email address, I received a refund on my tickets, and then comped tickets and drinks. I didn't get my full initial package (which included drinks and souvenir tumblers) but was at okay since they had refunded me. When I did eventually end up going to the exhibit, I kept expectations low. I really liked the actual telescopic images, but was disappointed at how quickly they had zoomed through those in the 26 minute loop of images. The telescope images were by far the coolest (and actual photographs) - and only 10 seconds was spent on them! I would've loved to sit and look at the Hubble and Webb images for much longer instead of the AI generated designs that were reminiscent of Windows Media Player. I had a spicy margarita cocktail and it was very good, but at $16 a drink, it felt a bit overpriced. The exhibits on either side of the main hall were cool, but I felt they didn't sufficiently explain the aerospace technology there. I would've appreciated a more accessible explanation. Maybe they figured most people wouldn't bother and would stick to the main hall. Overall, I enjoyed the experience, but I felt the value vs cost was not there. I was thankful I went for free but wasn't sure it was worth the headache/false start of our original visit. I would consider going again in the future but it would need to be a better price point.

Yelp
My friend and I are fans of flowers and anime so we had to visit the Isekai-cherry blossom exhibit. For $30/person ($24 for students), you can view a 20 minute loop of stunning animated visuals accompanied by ethereal sounds. There were 2 other side exhibits that were interactive and neat too. The experience was beautiful as soon as you walk in, and we spent just under an hour seeing everything.

Yelp
My first review at Artechouse but my second time here! The first time I went, it was the cherry blossom festival so it was themed this way. Beautifully decorated! I recently went 2 days ago for the beyond the lights exhibit. The colors and lighting was really cool, but it's a very small exhibit. Many of their displays were redundant. I do like that they added the option now to have drinks but I also don't like that they don't allow you to walk around with your beverage so you're restricted to stay at the bar. As for pricing, they offer discounts for first responders and students but only for time slots before 7 PM (the time restriction is a bit silly in my opinion). I would consider revisiting for a different exhibit (like the holiday version) but i don't think I would come back to see anything I've already seen.

Yelp
I'd heard of Artechouse for a while now. It's an exciting concept, and I had it on my list of things to see in DC. An opportunity to visit arose recently, so I was excited to take the plunge. I viewed the Beyond the Lights exhibit and thought it was gorgeous. I've never experienced anything like it. However, the exhibit is rather small, consisting of the main room, interactive exhibits on either side and a small bar at the entrance. The star is the 20-minute "lights show." You can relax on the floor and watch everything unfold. If you're prone to motion sickness, you might want to take a Dramamine pill because the movement of the projection can throw your equilibrium off. The interactive displays were interesting but very fast to move through. The displays worked for the most part, but occasionally they didn't. It could have been a user error, but they were still quite enjoyable. The staff happily answered questions and led you to the various experiences. The bar served themed drinks that adults could enjoy. The price per ticket is steep, so you'll have to decide on your own if the exhibit is worth the cost of admission. I'd be interested in viewing the cherry blossoms and holiday exhibits in the future, but this is not something I'd return to regularly. However, if you have the opportunity to go, do it!

Yelp
What an experience! The main part is a 360 degree immersive experience of sound and color that swirls around with a vague hero-based manga story. It can be dizzying but it's so innovative and original, I'd think anyone could connect with art like this. There were a lot of kids and the experience felt designed to draw them in. Overall, a really amazing experience!
google avatar

Matt G.

Yelp
TLDR: This was.... ok. Very small. The main room is great, but there isn't much going on in the other sections. Does not even hold a candle to teamlab. Full Review: the only other digital art experiences I've been to have been teamlab: Borderless and teamlab: planets. These are orders of magnitude better. It's like comparing the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History to a nifty rock you found on the ground. That being said, the concept is cool. The main room is nice and has a lengthy rotation of images that plays on loop. The rest of the exhibit is disappointing. We doubled back a few times looking for more, but there just... wasn't much there. Some of the interactive things weren't working. Ticket cost was ok, but they do have a veteran discount. Staff was also very friendly! This is probably better for kids, I saw several in awe in the main room. For adults, this isn't really worth it.

Yelp
Beyond the Light is the next mind-expanding immersive experience by Artechouse that incorporates data from NASA, an original soundtrack from galactic data, images from the James Webb Space Telescope, AI aided technology and other technologies for an amazing journey from stardust to the boundaries of imagination. This experience is for everyone. Young children, teens, adults were all enjoying Beyond the Light. Reading about this experience beforehand may enrich your understanding and deepen your knowledge of the complexities in mounting this exhibition but it is not necessary. Find a comfortable spot, relax and let yourself drift through this fantastical journey. This is the most incredible of all of the Artechouse experiences I have seen. Images from the Hubble telescope -- Pillars of Creation, Orion Nebula -- and enhanced by the soundtrack with data from the periodic table -- is stirring in a way that I can't explain -- something primeval -- something at the atomic level -- that we can all understand intuitively. If you get a chance to see Beyond the Light, go!
google avatar

Salina P.

Yelp
This is a really cool experience to go to, especially if someone is visiting you from out of town! The graphic design is beautiful and unique. If you enjoy art this is perfect for you, as the vibrant colors and animations will mesmerize you. I didn't get to try a drink at the bar but it's on my list for next time!
google avatar

Tara R.

Yelp
One of my favorite places in all of DC... I love that I can keep coming back and it's different every single time! The exhibits change about 2-3 times per year. DC locals can get a discount on tix, which can be purchased online. If you want to get a drink at the bar, I would recommend getting a package deal which will save you a few bucks. The LED immersive experience typically runs 20-25 minutes on a loop, and from there you can explore the smaller exhibits. I would recommend at least 1 hour to enjoy the full experience here! There is a parking garage next door, but it can be pricey ~$15 for an hour. I'd recommend looking for street parking in the surrounding area, or taking the metro.
google avatar

Sophie M.

Yelp
Really appreciate the opportunity to see a cool visual and interactive art display at Artechouse! However I would only give this event 3.5 stars...echoing the sentiment of other reviews, the line at the bar for drinks was too long. We also had to wait a long time outside and in the lobby to get in. Additionally the fire alarm and doors on each wall took away from the immersion of the art display. On a more positive note, I did like that it was a very unique experience with interactive elements. It was educational, and also an excellent photo opp!
google avatar

Stephon M.

Yelp
Really cool idea for a venue. It's a little confusing to navigate and understand what's interactive and how things are interactive. Very educational. Service was good here at the front desk and one drink at the bar. I think for what you do inside it should be a bit cheaper so I wouldn't say the value is there. Overall i do recommend checking it out as it's something different.

Yelp
For what it's worth I always enjoy my experience at Artechouse. I appreciate the different art exhibits they feature with a technical /visual art spin. I do wish I hadn't gotten the premium ticket that cost me $50 and came with a drink and an Artechouse tote bag. The drink I got with my token was the Butterfly Dream and it was tasty and not too strong. Prices weren't too bad, about $10 per drink and the names were cute and related to the exhibit. The Artechouse bag however, looked somewhat childish and had butterflies all over it, I ended up donating it. While I like it, parking is a pain if you don't want to pay twenty bucks for garage parking. It also consisted of one big room and 2 small side rooms. This one had exhibits you could interact with that played music and changed colors with motion etc. I just don't see how people get these great Instagram pictures unless they are going on weekdays at odd times. Everyone pretty much stays in the main room because it has the most impressive display. So it's difficult to get those great views and angles. I felt like I was done with everything in 20-30 minutes and I normally like to take my time and really consume art. The best view is from the bar in my opinion because you get the big picture. Speaking of bar, there was even a dancing light exhibit behind the bar. There are stairs down into the exhibit area but there is also an elevator so plan ahead or be prepared to wait your turn. When you enter there is a small store and a counter for tickets and check-in. I would go again but at a different less congested time.
google avatar

Sharon M.

Yelp
Solid exhibit to go to just once for the photos and the experience. Warning: it is very small though. It is really just the one room that's in all the photos, so you can be your own judge as to that's worth the entry price. The drinks are a hit or miss. I liked the drink that we got (stardust?), but my friend hated it. The bartenders are nice and accommodating though (like if you want them to alter your drink).
google avatar

Tank G.

Yelp
I found this place to be very interesting. There is metered street parking and commercial garages available within a reasonable walking distance to park your vehicle. You have to purchase a timed ticket, as they meter entry. I was able to walk-in and purchase a ticket form the next top/bottom of the hour. I would not rely on that though and highly recommend purchasing your tickets online early. The lobby has a small gift shop with items such as hats, magnets, shirts and is where you can also purchase admission tickets and check in. The admission may be considered a bit on the pricey side, but please keep in mind that you are supporting inspiring artist. This place has some hi-tech 21st century pieces of art. I highly recommend downloading the Artechouse app before getting here. It helps bring the interactive pieces of art to life and is really cool. The exhibit space is very hip and trendy as you would expect, but is not a very big. The main exhibit was titled Timeless Butterflies and features an immersive audio-visual story that pays tribute to nature's exuberance and the arrival of spring. It is referred to as a mega-sensory spectacle. Off to the right of the main room, you will find a small interactive piece and an opportunity to use your app to bring the piece to life and see butterflies flying around the room. The common theme of most of the pieces in the exhibit are butterflies. To the left of the main room, you will find a bunch of small exhibits including a piece with LED screens lined up in a row that come to life and make a sound when you walk past them and a piece where you color a butterfly and make its wings flap by using your arms. There is also an interactive floor with butterflies and fish as well on this side and another opportunity to use the app. The gallery features a bar, the XR Bar, that overlooks that main exhibit room. They serve beer, wine, mocktails and cocktails here that are crafted to go along with the experience. It is referred to as an extended reality bar. I really like this place but it is not a huge consumer of time, nor does it have a lot of exhibits. The exhibits that it does have are pretty cool and I really liked them. This unique gallery is definitely worth a visit and is a change of pace from the normal Washington D.C. monuments. I highly recommend checking this place out and supporting the arts.

Yelp
What an awesome experience! We went there for their Christmas show. We had so much fun doing mini puzzles and were treated once we completed them at the end with a free spin of the wheel and price. The show was absolutely awesome for the entire family. Definitely recommend checking out any show they have. Don't want to foil the show so I didn't post a video for you but trust me that you got to check it out! Service was awesome and handicapped accessible everywhere you need to go. Elevator and lift as well.
google avatar

Jada C.

Yelp
12'2022 Hubby and I visited the day after Christmas and had a great time. I'd been wanting to visit this place for quite some time. I love how calm this place is upon entry. The main room is so cool. There's a slide deck shown for several minutes while you stand/ sit and just chill for a few. There was a QR Code game that hubby and I played where we had to scan all the holiday gifts within the challenge. Of course we won. Lol, I got a lanyard. I definitely recommend this place for all ages to get out and have some DC creative artsy fun.
google avatar

Christine B.

Yelp
Went here because they were listed on Guide to Imbibe for a drink deal and it was so fun! The exhibit was a NASA related theme which was really interesting and we ended up staying for a full 2 hours! I do recommend booking online and purchasing a drink with your ticket because it's cheaper that way than ordering at the bar
google avatar

Kamou M.

Yelp
I enjoyed the recent Christmas themed digital video exhibit on New Year's Day. Nice way to start 2024. I'll be watching for future immersive video exhibits to see there as well. The staff was very helpful. They also have a bar above the actual display area that I'll try out next time. Note, the immersive moving images can be disorienting and lead to dizziness.
google avatar

Yvonne W.

Yelp
Much smaller than I had anticipated. There is only really just that One Room that's wow and cool and really nothing else. So you are really paying like entrance fee per person for a photo opportunity! All the other exhibits are cool to see but probably not going to be more than 15 mins of your time. I would say if you're not going to sit there in the main room... 30 mins max would be all you need. I can see how it can be a good venue rental space for company event. It would be very artistic and people can chat in the large room with the lights running. Overall pretty disappointing... bc I was really expecting a lot more to see and explorer.
google avatar

Holly W.

Yelp
Overall best immersive experience I have been to. Let me explain a little more about this comment. I live in RI and travel to Boston for immersive expereinces. I have attended a Van Gogh and a King Tut exhibit. Both of these at the end of the exhibit spit you out into a large room where the immersion occurred all around you. At Artechouse DC you step right into the immersive exhibit. The Cherry Blossom exhibit has butterflies and flowers a bloom all around you. Step into the room to the left and you will find more ways to immerse yourself into this experience. From making different flowers dance using your body or making butterfly wings flap. Stepping onto rose petals to activate a domino effect set of digital screens that have flowers blooming and moving/swaying all activated by me/you! Artechouse was very interactive, bright, vibrant and all consuming. Heads up: this exhibit is not for those with motion sickness- it moves VERY fast. You've been warned. FYI: they give an educators discount
google avatar

Chuck E.

Yelp
I was looking for an experience for my kids that would be a break from the museums, historical, and government sites. Artechouse DC did not disappoint. The cherry blossom-themed anime immersive art was beautiful, and having it move all around and under us while synchronized music played was a sensory delight. The side rooms offered fun experiences but were not as great as the main room. The bar offered fancy mocktails, which the kids loved, though they were a bit pricey. I recommend this art gallery to anyone looking for a change from the usual D.C. attractions.

Yelp
Artechhouse is a unique experience. I have been here before, but this was my first visit at night. When I first arrived, I had to wait in the lobby for about 10-15 minutes. Our entry started 20 minutes after our ticketed start time of 8 pm. There is a souvenir shop that you can peruse while you wait. The building is accessible with an elevator that leads down to the basement where the exhibits are located. We had to view a quick video before allowed entry to the exhibits. Once I went in there was a cool bar with coasters connected to the app, where you can see more art. The bartender gave me a heavy pour of a nice dry white wine. It's not a fully stocked bar, so don't think you will be able to get just anything, but they do have a nice drink menu. I kind of wish there were light snacks available, but overall it was a nice time. The actual exhibit was ok. There were only about 4 rooms and all the art was made with lasers. I was underwhelmed compared to my other times visiting, but I appreciate the artist's hard work. Artechhouse is a great place for art lovers or tech enthusiasts. It's a great place for a solo date, date night, or trip with the kids.
google avatar

Megan M.

Yelp
Fun place every once in a while. A little overpriced for what it is but if you love the intersection of art and tech you will enjoy it! The drinks at the bar are super fun because they are interactive

Yelp
This is a great location for family outings, date night, or a solo vibe. Children love the theatrics of the moving art in the open space. Folks move to the front for the photo op. People in the back, settle in to enjoy the show. There are a few benches in the back. Watch your step there are attendees watching the show from every angle. There's also a bar in the back of your he installations. Outside of the main installation there are smaller displays of interactive art that you can move through. I like how it encouraged movement. May not be accessible for folks with limited movement. Bathrooms are located outside the installation so go before the show starts. We really enjoyed ourselves. I will be back for more during another season.

Yelp
Sooooo this laser exhibit was cool, I will say that and the staff was super nice...however, for $86 for two people, it was NOT WORTH IT. I've been to exhibits around the nation very similar and they made it a more fun, interactive, and vibrant environment. There's a bar but no music and three rooms. We saw everything within 30 minutes. The vibe for a Friday night was not there and I wouldn't come back sadly. I understand it's DC, but I was expecting way more, especially for the price.

Yelp
I joined my friend at a yelp elite event here for the Intangible Forms exhibit and I really enjoyed the experience! They had timed admission so it wasn't overly crowded. The space itself was smaller than I expected-- one main room and two smaller ones. I recommend taking your time with this exhibit and sitting when possible to really take in the full run time for each laser exhibit. There's also a bar by the entrance at the bottom if you want to spend more time there after looking through everything. Overall, loved the free event but not sure if I would pay $20 for the ticket.

Yelp
The gallery was definitely interesting. This is the second time that I came to art tech house and definitely mesmerized by the technological aspect of art here. I came here for an event and it was definitely fun to be in. Although I did not like the drink there, but it was a fun experience to have.

Yelp
Cool little place I found for us to have a date night out. Something different. Would've really enjoyed it more if there weren't a lot of kids running around. Perhaps after a certain time the exhibit should be adults only. A holiday multiverse experience of floating giant swinging Christmas bells to nutcrackers, train rides through wreaths, spinning candy cane carousels...beautiful lights that actually make you feel your floating through... Excited to visit again once they change the theme. Just loved all the lights and the drinks were delicious as well.

Yelp
I'm definitely spoiled living in DC--being surrounded by free institutions like the Smithsonian museums have made me fall in love with art for free!--and am always a little skeptical of institutions that make you pay. I was eager to check out Artechouse in DC, located in walkable distance from the National Mall. While the $20-30 price tag isn't awful, the quality of the museum definitely does not live up to that of comparable free institutions like the Hirshorn. I liked the current exhibit, which uses lasers and computer engineering to create cool visualizations. I wouldn't call it immersive necessarily--it was much more like a standard museum where you look at passive exhibits on the wall. I am not super into this type of exhibit, but I went with a physics-minded friend who really enjoyed it. Overall we spent a little less than an hour looking at the full exhibit. The space is pretty small, and we could have sped through in like 20 minutes. Overall, I was underwhelmed, but I would definitely come back to see a new installation. I probably would default to a Smithsonian first.

Yelp
So I think I had higher expectations. The first room (main room) has amazing and vibrant colors for the isekai exhibit. But I didn't like that we had to sit on the floor or stand for 20 min. I have some joint issues so benches would have been very helpful. Some of the interactive exhibits didn't work... which is a disappointment considering the cost to experience this exhibit.

Yelp
I always have a great time at DC's Artechouse. Their exhibitions are visually stunning and creative. The captivating images are quite entrancing at times. Be sure to stop by the bar and also check out the interactive sections.

Yelp
What a spectacular way to unwrap a holiday season with Artechouse. I love visiting this place where art, technology, and science come to life. I was a little disappointed that not all exhibits were fully functional for the preview party, but the interaction with the app to find the markers and the digital illustrations (even with the drinks we ordered) was so much fun! The main hall experience was mesmerizing. Visitors traverse immersive digital multiverses filled with dreamlike yet familiar holiday themes. When you are sitting on the floor, it feels like you are on a train ride traveling through different rooms in a gift factory. The entire journey takes about 20 minutes and then it repeats. There were certain rooms that made me very dizzy so sit in the back to enjoy the ride. I appreciated that they provided cushions for people to sit on, very thoughtful. We got hot chocolates to calm our excitement. Observing other people taking pictures and kids running around joyfully was fun. I had a fantastic date night with my husband. Looking forward to letting others know about the exhibit.

Yelp
If you are looking for a fun place to go with your family and friends and at the same time can Joy some good drinks and get a WOW experience, you have to come to check out the ARTECHOUSE in DC. The new intangible forms, an immersive audiovisual experience will be exhibited Jan 14-March 5, so don't miss out the opportunity. We began our visit with a warm welcome by the check in the staff and sparkling champagne. Followed with breathtaking laser light shows. Make sure you visit all the rooms and take your time to enjoy them. See pictures and videos for details. Don't forget to stop by the bar and try some of their XR cocktails. Our personal favorite ones are power of one & intangible. The bar was packed but we loved how lively it was. The bathrooms are conveniently located at lower level by the entrance. There are plenty stalls, and they kept them very clean. There is a DIY coat hanging closet right next to the bathrooms, which was very convenient. SP+ parking garage is the closest parking garage to ARTECHOUSE, depending on time of the day, parking charge can range anywhere between $12-$25. We had a great time and we know you will do too.

Yelp
I went to the Artechouse and it was my first real experience of this type of art. It brought a whole different perspective of art and creativeness. I felt immersive in the moment as I saw interactive images and felt to drawn it. I spent a lot of time with each piece and went through it within an hour. I recommend going to their events!

Yelp
This was my first art immersion experience and it was amazing!! The staff was super friendly and were around if we had any questions while we walked through some of the exhibits. The main exhibit lasted about 22 mins long. But honestly you could sit there forever just watching it play through. It's hard to tell when it looped back to the beginning and we sat in the back to watch the first time and sat on the floor to watch it again. Such a cool space. Definitely a new way to experience art! Would highly recommend.

Yelp
Everything about this place is amazing! The drinks, the experience, the atmosphere, it's all great! I have to visit this place every time I come to Washington DC! I can't wait to visit the other locations in New York and Miami! I will forever make this a place that I visit.

Yelp
We love galaxy theme thus we love their current Beyond the light show! The show itself is about 20-26 mins but we are able to stay longer. All the light show are in one room.

Yelp
We went to the 'Beyond the Light' exhibit, which was a collaboration between NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, the JWST, and John's Hopkins University. It was an awesome experience in which artistic expression was combined with the latest technology. We were simply mesmerized for over 20 minutes by the sights. As a side note, a parking garage was less than two minutes away which made it ideal to get into and out of. I highly recommend this activity.

Yelp
I found this to be eye and heart filling. Pixelbloom was like sitting inside of a kaleidoscope with multitudes of colorful, amazing morphing flowers, butterflies, vines and shapes with great sound and vibrating bass. That's just the main room. I LOVED sitting in there, especially watching the small children dancing and playing in the environment. I can see that for some it may be overwhelming - perhaps take ear plugs if that's the case to tamp down the sound - but the immersive feel was beautiful for me. I only took videos as photos don't do it justice at all. The other rooms were a mix of ok and amazing. The app and technology were frustrating at times so it was good to have a staff member there to help us. Unfortunately the cocktail bar was closed but we were able to get the idea of the creatures that would "crawl" around our drinks when we found a coaster to use our app with. We went on a Sunday afternoon, were able to find free parking nearby and tickets were more reasonable. We were in there about an hour though we had a timed entry.

Yelp
Cool visuals Loud audio One large room, two-ish hallways, one medium room, and one small room (I think I counted that right?) Like what other, recent reviewers said, the art was really cool, but the place is small. My friend and I paid $24.09 each with discount, and we stayed for maybe 30 mins. We had to leave for three reasons: it was too damn hot in there with little air circulation, I got nauseous, and we ran out of stuff to look at. The main room is really where it's at. After walking down, idk, three flights of steps, we immediately hit the large, main room. It was a lot to take in and was amazing with all the moving audiovisuals. Almost immediately though, we noticed it was hot (maybe from all the lights). One hallway had a vertical, slim fan. I noticed people were already wiping sweat off their foreheads. It would be best to bring a handheld fan with you if you go here. You could interact with some of the art. I went during the Afro Frequencies programming, so the art I interacted with were of ones where you can "wear" different kinds of masks. They were like IG filters. After the first maybe 10 mins., I started experiencing a headache, dizziness, and nausea. Maybe consider taking some medicine before coming here. The last thing I want to note is that I'm not sure if there's an elevator, so you may want to call ahead of time to inquire if you need accommodations.

Yelp
I went for the first time for the Pixels : Butterfly Bloom exhibit they were putting up during the Cherry Blossom season. It was really interesting, and I think if you've never been here before, it's a really nice activity to go on for a date or even with friends. It's pretty unique in my opinion if you've already done the other Smithsonian type museums and exhibits. And I also love how they do switch up their exhibits here so if you follow them on their social media, you'll be able to get more updates on their showings. I'd highly recommend!
