"Catch a Soccer Game Soccer fans should try to catch home team Fiorentina (also called ‘Viola’ thanks to their purple shirts) on their own turf, the Artemio Franchi stadium. The season runs through the winter, and home games are normally held on alternative Sundays. Kickoff is at 3pm."

Jan 11 2025. ACF Fiorentina versus AC Milan. Serie A Enilive 2025/26. The entire stadium stood and sang the Fiorentina song, the flags of Fiorentina waved from an entire stand. Absolutely electrifying atmosphere. I waited to hear the song of AC Milan, they didn’t get a turn. It seemed that the entire stadium was covered in purple. Being a part of this unified crowd was as much fun as watching the match itself, which was an exciting draw. We were in a top tier in row 18 and could see everything. For me, No.2 Dodo was a clear stand out, I could catch his name from the cheers of the crowd, he got so many free kicks which he always gave to his team mate. At half time, the boy in front peeled the backs off his set of stickers and pressed each one to the correct location in the book. Someone gave him a sticker that had been dropped. Every one in the crowd was polite, considerate of others and totally dedicated to their team ACF Fiorentina. So glad we included a soccer match in our itinerary.

We visited the stadium on 21 Dec 2025 to watch Fiorentina vs Udinese. Part of the stadium was under renovation, but it didn’t affect the overall experience at all. Seating sections were clearly marked on the signboards, and what I really appreciated was the gentle gradient of the steps to the seats—much more comfortable than newer stadiums with very steep steps, like the Santiago Bernabéu. The seat numbers were a bit hard to see, likely due to wear and tear. One downside was that smoking is allowed in the stands, so cigarette smoke was noticeable throughout the match. A nice touch was that staff walk through the seating areas selling drinks, beers, and snacks, so you don’t even have to leave your seat. Overall, it’s a great stadium with a good view of the pitch. The fans around us weren’t rowdy but were very supportive, creating a lively and enjoyable atmosphere. We stayed near Florence’s main train station, Firenze Santa Maria Novella. Getting to the stadium was very easy—just one stop by train (about 5–8 minutes) to Firenze Campo Marte. What’s really convenient is that you don’t need to exit the station; there’s a dedicated path and overhead bridge directly from the platform to the stadium, about a 12–15 minute walk. The return journey is just as easy, with direct access back to the platform. A one-way train ticket costs €1.60, making it a very convenient trip from the city centre. Overall, we loved the stadium and would definitely recommend the experience.

The Franchi is a vintage Italian stadium, some areas are currently being developed which didn't take anything away from the matchday experience. Once you are inside they have good facilities and there's plenty of choices for food and drinks.

It’s a classic stadium that I have a lot of nostalgia for but it definitely needs some upgrades, which they are working on. Only half the stands have cover from the elements so make sure you book the Tribuna coperta if you know it’s going to be a rainy day. Not really a bad seat though. Enjoy!

ATMOSPHERE WAS AMAZING even with half of it under renovation. The people outside however kept telling me other side of the stadium was where I needed to enter and after I ran around they said I needed to be back where I came from. Pretty disappointing to be misguided and miss the beginning of the game. This should not take away from the experience inside though. Absolute scenes, would highly recommend.

I visited the stadium on the day of the match between Fiorentina and Venezia on 25.8.2024. First of all, I should mention that a part of the stadium is under reconstruction, only like 2/3 of the stadium are functional. The stadium had small seats and little legroom. There is a large sector of home fans, but the atmosphere didn't particularly impress me. The stand I was sitting on didn't have a roof, which could be a problem in bad weather. The stadium was large without an athletic track. I liked the quality and size of the big screen. I have attached a photo of the screen, a view of the staggered section of the grandstand, the view from my seat and the toilet. I might come again after the reconstruction is finished

Nice stadium. All seats have a good view and you’re actually very close.

Yelp
Stadium itself is pretty beat-up and outdated, which is surprising for a place that got renovated in the 90's. Beers are cheap. The atmosphere was pretty good, as Roma were in town. Security is good.
