Really a great and very unique restaurant. First of all, the bread is more than great and completely different from any other bread in the United States. In the restaurant, you feel as if you are in Egypt or any other Arab country. You can have breakfast with beans, falafel, hummus, liver, and heart, just like you would eat in any popular restaurant in Egypt. For lunch, you can also eat Mandi and various delicious meats. The prices are reasonable, and the area where the restaurant is located is very lively 🌸🌸

Yemeni food in the heart of the Bronx. Authentic, flavorful and economical. We had the Lamb Haneeth, 10/10 and also had the hummus with meat 9/10. They start you off with broth soup & salad & the bread was perfect. Cost about $20 a person and we got a few cold drinks.

Overall 4 stars. Not bad. We went as a family of seven . I will first start with positive: 1. Salmon portions is large compared to other Yemeni restaurant around 2. Free tea for all customers 3. Free soup and salad with all dish 4. Soup is quite good 5. The food is ready very quickly. 6. This is located right next to the masjid. So I can pray and come back during prayer time. 7. The guy understood the English very well. Sometimes it is not the case. Negative side: 1. Small restaurant. Difficult for a large family to sit together 2. The falafel is not cooked well inside. 3. Lamb hanith, I think the meat is not baby lamb. But not bad. 4. The meat portion is less compared to other Yemeni restaurants that we have visited. 5. Difficult to get parking specially during prayer time. 6. Kunafa desert seems not very authentic. It is full of coconut. I have kunafa before. It supposed to be very creamy and smooth. Delicious Yemeni food. I was very impressed by the food I ate at Arth Aljanathain. I have eaten there a few times. I have had a chance to taste several of the dishes. The restaurant interior is decorated with scenic images of Yemen framed with white border. That same white border is used to create decorative geometric patterns on the wall. You get a good sized portion of food on each plate. So far, I have had the Zurbian chicken, which is aromatic rice and pieces of chicken buried within the rice. I tried the roasted chicken and rice dish, and salmon, both were superb. Some of the meals come with a small soup and salad. I really enjoyed the hummus and bread dish. You can taste the tahini in the hummus and the bread was light and soft. It is one of the best flat breads I have ever had. For drinks, there are many to choose from. I had a Ayran mint flavored yogurt drink (one of my favorites). I also had a Laziza regular malt beverage. Laziza "regular" is an unsweetened malt beverage that is pleasant and refreshing. On your way out do not forget to grab a small espresso sized cup of slightly sweetened tea. The food at Arth Aljanathain does not disappoint. I will surely be going back for more.

Got fatteh and it was so heavenly. Sorry the pic was after eating it. Every bite was delicious. The rotisserie chicken and rice wasn’t bad either, but you should ask for a white sauce.

Small Yemenis place with 5-7 tables serving authentic middle eastern dishes. I visited at 11:30AM right before lunch rush. The portion size was great. The soup was warming. The lamb was cooked so tender. The rice was fluffy. This is a hub for middle eastern cuisine, and there were plenty of regulars as lunch rush rolled in.

We randomly stumbled into this spot, and I am so thankful we did. This restaurant is truly a gem in Little Yemen. Every staff member was super nice and patient. My family ordered: lamb with rice, chicken with rice, hummus, fries. Each dish was seasoned perfectly, and I am still dreaming of Malawah bread!! The environment is super cosy, and the fact that many members of the Yemeni community frequent the place...you know you'll eat good. We took some baklava home and it was equally delicious. This spot is a must return

I adore Middle Eastern cuisine, and while there are a authentic Middle Eastern restaurants in the Bronx, they are not like this one! I was ready for the challenge of finding a fresh, new Middle Eastern dish to bring to a buddy who was visiting for the weekend. This kind of food was something he had never had before. This eatery is located right in the middle of "Little Yemen." And yes, I had a gut feeling that it would be a positive experience. Due to the sizable Yemeni population, there is a neighborhood in the Bronx called Little Yemen! Having grown up on Middle Eastern cuisine, I was thrilled to discover this restaurant. This restaurant serves delicious Yemeni food, with a menu that includes lamb, chicken, and seafood among other alternatives. I started with an order of pita with hummus, keeping my appetizer simple. The hummus was delicious and fresh, and I was hungry for more! I picked the Kabseh Chicken for my entree since I wanted to relive my upbringing. It was quite flavorful, and just so you know, there is rice mixed in with the meat! They serve free soup with your meal and the rice is really wonderful. The rice was definitely a substantial serving, and the chicken was falling off the bone. They offer you many pieces of chicken, all of which are of a decent size. You may enjoy some delicious sage tea, and the best part is that refills are always free! Not to be overlooked is the dessert menu, which consists of classic choices. The Baklava was delicious, and I had it. The restaurant is cozy and welcoming, and the costs are fairly reasonable for the size of the servings they provide. You can pay with cash or credit cards here, and reservations are not required. The service was prompt and courteous, and the meal arrived really fast. Because this restaurant is in a residential area, you have two options for getting there: you can drive and park your car there or use public transportation. This restaurant is a hidden gem in the Bronx that you must check out if you appreciate real Middle Eastern food!

this place is really good food and affordable. the inside is kinda of cold so the ambiance isn't all that especially during winter and people keep opening the front door so it gets cold the food is delicious i got hummus with chicken and it comes with 2 roti. it was vey filling i had to share. there is pomegranate soda very good and light they also give free tea you have to do it yourself. service is okay they come and drop off your food but you have to order up front very authentic and great food A+

Yeman was once an importnt post in frankincense ( & myrrh) and the spice trade. It is said that Queen of Sheeba gifted King Solomon with frankincense and spices. Hence it goes without saying that the Yemani food is full of flavor, aroma, and spice. My goto place for Yemani food is Yeman Cafe (two locations in Brooklyn). It has been around since the mid 80s, has a huge menu, and is considered as perhaps the best place for Yemani food in the North East. But Yeman Cafe plays it safe. Recently Arth Aljanathain ("The Land of Two Gardens") on 700 Rhinelander Ave, Bronx NY has emerged as a destination for those seeking Anthony Bourdaine / Andrew Zimmern type food with passion and an edge. No doubt Yeman Cafe has the upper hand vis a vis quality, but Arth Aljanathain more than makes up with dishes that you will not get anywhere. Moreover Yeman Cafe cannot match Arth Aljanthain's Zorbian. What is Zorbian ? Well Zorbian is Yeman's answer to Pakistani / Bangladeshi/ Indian Biryani. Zorbian is Yeman's response to Uzbekistani Plov. Zorbian is a Yemani rice (and meat) casserole. It is Biryani/Plov with a tweak (made with different spices). If you like Biryani and Plov, then you might like Zorbian also.

We tried this place for my husband's birthday. Normally we used to go to Brooklyn's Yemin Cafe. This place was just as good. Definitely closer than Brooklyn. Tried the mandi, roasted chicken and kebsah, all very good.

I ordered from here twice, once via ubereats and then doordash. But I think that's it. The first time, I said extra vegetables, and instead they gave me no vegetables and it was very salty. Then the second one, one piece of small potato and a dried chicken. I've had Yemeni food many times, but this place makes me not want to eat Yemeni food anymore. When you call them, they are rude and hang up on me. I will not order from here anymore. I thought the second time it would be different, but eh.

Perfect lunch! I could not have been more satisfied! The food was amazing, the tastes were exquisite, unique, fresh snd gourmet! Five stars all the way! I'm definitely going back to try more Yemeni dishes. The chicken sandwich was delicious on a very soft bread that melts in your mouth and the flavors were good. It came with a house made tomato salsa on the side. The soup was also very good, almost like a hearty meat broth. To finish it off with the basbosa and tea was the perfect ending. The basbosa had coconut in the inside and, noodles on top with perfect amount of sweet. The tea reminded me of the Indian masala chai but Yemeni version. The place was busy with a consistent customer base coming in and picking up orders and the front desk host was constantly taking phone orders. But the service was quick. I felt like I was in a local Yemeni spot, the culture was there!! I was very happy and satisfied. Thank you! Highly recommended!

Really 4.5 stars. Got take out for lunch. The portions were massive, it was $12 for an entree with a soup and side salad. The salad came with a lovely spicy dressing. The soup was nice, but was just a thick chicken broth without anything in it. I got the chicken zuribain which I can liken to biryani. It was supremely flavorful with pieces of onion and chicken. It was delicious and enough for two large portions. My only complaint is the chicken had bones. The large bones were not an issue, but the smaller ones were a bit dangerous if you are not paying attention. I would definitely recommend it and go back!

Awful, everything about this place was awful. Sometimes I like to go back to a place to give them another chance just in case they were having a bad night or something, but this place was just awful. I've been afraid to leave a negative review. The thing was, the food was "OK" and that's the best I could give for the food, OK, but the service... it's not a big place they were only couple people seated. Maybe they do a lot of takeout... But we waited forever for that waiter to come over and we were a little bit unsure about ordering we gave him one second of hesitation, and he put away his little notepad, and walked away, as if it was beneath him to wait more than a second for us to order. And so then we had to wait again. It seem like a half an hour it probably was 10 minutes for him to come back... Wait, he never came back. They sent a female employee to take our order. I don't know how to say it exactly but I think there was something else going on besides them being busy. I really didn't like that feeling I would never go back and I would never recommend this place to anyone as a matter of fact I would dis-recommend this place. We went there specifically for an authentic ethnic experience. I assume that we got an authentic ethnic experience but I didn't like the ambience at all. It had an awful ambience.

Arth Aljanatain is an amazing Yemeni restaurant in the Bronx. "Arth Aljanatain" means "the land of two gardens" and there are two murals of gardens inside the restaurant! Arth Aljanatain was absolutely wonderful! We got maraq soup and salad (had Ranch dressing...!) as the starters. As we had a vegetarian in the group, this gave me a great opportunity to order some of the non-meat dishes that I usually don't order. So I asked for fasolia beans and shakshouka (these are actually breakfast items). The fasolia beans were wonderful and in the traditional black clay pot. The shakshouka came out as some eggs on top of cubed tomato... not quite shakshouka but still good. We also got fish ogda and lamb mandi. The fish ogda was perfectly made and absolutely amazing!! The lamb mandi was also full of flavor and soft with perfectly fluffy rice. The bread was freshly made and hot. I liked the sahawiq here since it wasn't that spicy. As they did not have any dessert available, we ended the meal with some Yemeni spice tea and we were all very happy. I am very happy that we bought Fish Ogda, this was one of their very best dishes, very flavorful and delicious. Service was great and every one working here was extremely nice and generous. Definitely recommend this place!

Really good food, but a bit overpriced in my opinion. Portions could be bigger if the prices remain the same. The free tea was great though. Don't get me wrong, I'm not cheap, but food portions doesn't meet the prices.

Don't let the prices scare you, along with your meal you get a soup, salad, and chai, its a lot of food. This is a Yemeni restaurant, they do not skimp on the meat. All the meat is halal and fresh. Mostly this place caters to local Arabs in the neighborhood. The appearance of the place is not very impressive at all, its what most would call a dive and service isn't all too great. They usually have someone from the kitchen coming in and out to take orders and serve food, you may need to walk in and ask for what you want. Personally, I'm all about the food. Also, keep in mind this is an authentic Arab place so don't expect them to speak English all too well, if they seem reticent its not personal. Basically, I go in look at the menu and let them know what I want. The food is made fresh everyday so if you arrive late or after a busy day some dishes may be sold out, but hey, if you want to enjoy true authentic Yemeni cuisine this place is worth the trouble. And seriously, the Bronx really does need more variety! Try the roasted lamb, and hummus, its delicious. The hummus comes with fresh baked bread! I've also had the roasted chicken, I think next time I'll ask the chef to put some tahini sauce on top! By the way, the current chef, Nabeel, is a really nice guy, he let me take pictures of a giant roasted lamb fresh out of the oven! I want to go back and try everything on the menu. Oh, and the TV is set to Al Jezeera (Arab News Broadcast). Enjoy the adventure.

The lamb shanks were amazing. a great find. Long grain rice with some saffron - beautifully cooked. Your meal comes with soup and salad, as well as a spicy condiment. All you can drink self-serve sweet tea. So nice for a cold day! What was very nice to see is how a poor man who came in (very clean) was treated. He came in and they let him have hot tea and a seat, and when he asked for somebody's leftover bread, they gave it to him. This alone would make me want to return! A GREAT meal in the Bronx!

As many have said, the better Yemeni restaurants are in Brooklyn. However, this one had fine food. The homemade bread is very good, the lamb and rice fine, even the falafel (which is not a Yemeni dish) was solid. My complaints are that the restaurant is dirty. Also, when I went with my mom and daughter, only men were eating there, just like in the Middle East. I am American, though my parents are from the Middle East, and I've witnessed this kind of gender segregation in the Middle East a lot. But hey, we're in America now, right? Don't ladies like to eat out as well?

Good food at a good price. I had the hummus with qelabah which is diced meat. it was first time having these combination and I must say it was very good. I highly recommend this place. The reason the review is missing a star is for the decor.

This place is a hidden gem!. The best middle eastern food you'll ever have outside of the Middle East. I've tried foul from different places and they can not compare.

Not quite as good as the Yemeni food in Brooklyn.... Nevertheless, a decent option for Bronx. Go for the lamb (hanneth)...it falls of the bone !

If you're tired of the stuff on Arthur Avenue, there's a good Halal Yemeni restaurant on the other side of the Bronx Zoo. The flat bread is good. The lamb dishes are good. They've got Yemeni standards like salta, frothy with fenugreek seed. As well as other typical Middle Eastern fare.

Their chicken wraps are AMAZING!! Once you have it you will be craving it lol. Very well seasoned and flavorful. Love the spicy diping sauce that comes with it. I usually order out from the restaurant.

Both times I've eaten here have been great. Delicious chicken, moist lamb. Soup that is mysteriously addictive... fresh bread, so much food you won't leave hungry. The people that work there are very friendly and the tea and the food, so nice.

Their food is love! Especially Salta and Grilled chicken, i go there almost everyday to buy the Roti/Khubz/tandoor bread! Their complimentary soup is so yummy and their free tea at the end of food just awesome! Mouth watering now i am craving for their food again LOL! I used to eat Mandi from dubai its kinda similar to that food if you love Middle Eastern food its a must go place
