Arthur & Sons - Review - Murray Hill - New York - The Infatuation

"Arthur & Sons, the Italian American spot in the West Village, is a place where you can listen to Sinatra while sitting in a scalloped red leather booth that’s conveniently unburdened by decades of cigarette smoke. Their second city location (there’s one in the Hamptons) has arrived in Murray Hill, complete with chicken parm and red sauce. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Team Infatuation

We are staying in the Pod 39 hotel and walked down to the lobby and saw Athurs and I am so glad we decided to stop in! Food was absolutely amazing and such good portions for the price! Charlotte took care of us and she was so sweet!

We came here on a busy Saturday night to get dinner and get away from the madness of Bryant Park. We put our name on the waitlist and ended up having to wait longer than expected. However, the manager Tia made sure to take good care of us. The hostess and the servers were so nice as well. Drinks and food were perfect.

Murray hill location: We sat down and someone gave us water right away then told us they would be back to order. No pleasantries, when we ordered we ask for suggestions and serving size. We were never told it was family style so we both ordered meat and a vegetable. Both were enough to feed 4 people. After we ordered we never saw the server again, no drink refills and no one asked us how the food was. News flash, it was sub par. The hostess cashed us out and stood there while I took out cash to pay, watching us. It was awkward. I wouldn’t recommend.

This review is regarding an event booking/room rental: I'm extremely disappointed in the service I received from Arthur & Son's. I first reached out at the beginning of October to inquire about renting out a room for my birthday dinner in late November. After multiple back and forth emails to their event rep, communication stopped abruptly by mid-October. After receiving no communication from the rep, and no phone number available, I decided to visit the restaurant in early November. I dined there and spoke to the host, who told me that the rep I was speaking to no longer works there and reassured me that if I emailed a new contact someone would follow up with me . I emailed almost immediately but yet again, no response for over a week. It wasn't until about two days ago, less than a week before my planned birthday dinner, that someone finally reached out. When I spoke to Tia this week, she was sure to apologize to me and understood my frustration which I do appreciate. However it's still incredibly frustrating, especially because the food is genuinely delicious. Unfortunately, the lack of communication and unreliable service overshadowed the quality of the food. I truly hope they improve their responsiveness, because this experience was very disappointing. I hope to dine here again soon and hopefully have a better experience.

A friend and I found this gem when we were in the neighborhood looking for dinner. The staff was friendly and welcoming so we stayed. We sure were happy we did. The pasta was delicious, and the sauce was just right. And... the show stopper was the dessert our waitress suggested, a lemon pie!!!! I wish someone took a picture of our faces when we took our first bite. I have only tasted a dessert that amazing a few times in my life (and I typically would never order a lemon dessert).

Big portions. Delicious Italian food just the way grandma used to make it. Inventive cocktails. And all in a great space. A fantastic choice for an after work dinner.

Service was good but the food not so much. Artichoke appetizer was tasty however baked clams were absolutely disgusting, tasted like the sea floor, I think one of mine was still raw and slimy. Veal was cooked to death and eggplant stack was gross, hard and dry and no flavor. Very disappointing.

Great ambience with big portions! A lot of variety for appetizers and entrees. A bit overpriced but worth the experience. The Sunday Gravy and Chicken alla Vodka are must haves!
