Yelp
3 stars only because the waiter was so nice and attentive! Thank you so much for your hospitality!
Came in on a Wednesday night, i was on a work trip. Arthur's was right beside my hotel. Convenient! I was a walk in which they seated me fairly quick. Plenty of open tables. It was around 5:30-6pm. The Host was very delightful and courteous. The restaurant has an old homey feel. Like it's been around for ages, and if you move a picture frame to the side, you may see a dust ring around its original position. Lol but I actually liked that about it. It's a comfortable feeling. Only thing was, there is a smell either from old carpet or old pipes. That wasn't too pleasant, but once you get past that, you're fine.
My waiter was Christopher, very nice, very respectful, and very attentive! He offered water options, gave wine, appetizer, & entrees suggestions and checked on me very often! I asked for a Riesling, which they didn't have, so he suggested Moscato. Everything i chose was from his suggestion, so I thank you very much for your hospitality !
Now for my food.......
I started with the Crab Cake. I see the reviews are very positive and it is one of the more raved about options.
My crab cake in particular came hot & steamy! Lol but lacked flavor. I definitely knew there was crab meat in there but the whole cake tasted like flour. Not sure if they use flour to hold it together, but wasn't the best taste. There was a slaw underneath that i would eat with the crab cake that helped a little but eventually the tangy, mayo & flour combination became too overwhelming. I think a little seasoning and maybe bread crumbs instead of flour would go a long way there, but maybe it was just mine.
Next i had the Lobster Bisque.
I wasn't a fan. I'm sorry to say. There wasn't a tad bit lobster nor flavor in it. I thought there was a piece of lobster on top but it turned out to be a piece of crunchy bread or cracker or something. The bisque tasted very peppery. Maybe i should have taken the Sherry he offered, but i declined. I attempted to eat more, but i couldn't.
Then lastly I had the Chicken Fried Lobster.
I was explained to that it wasn't deep fried, it was lightly pan fried where i can still taste the freshness of the lobster with a side of garlic mashed potatoes and green beans. Now! Im not a fried food fan, but i love a fresh lobster tail. When my plate came over, it was steaming! Lol beautiful presentation, but i could tell my lobster was fried hard. Although the taste was ok, I tasted more crispy batter than lobster meat. If you look at the picture, the lobster looks thin. I didn't finish all of my food, i took it back to my room.
All of this to say, I think this establishment is doing well with or without my review. I think the staff is doing a great job. I think the decor is perfect for the feel of the restaurant. I just wish the food had either a little seasoning or a fresher taste for seafood items. Hi
