"Open for: Happy hour, dinner, weekend brunchPrice range: $$$$In 2024, a year filled with too many restaurant closures to count, Artis was a bright spot. This buzzy, glam Lakewood bistro is helmed by chef-owner Andrew Mansour, who has a knack for weaving globetrotting flavors into a cohesive experience. Plates run from small to big, with flavorful gems like kimchi fried rice, hummus topped with Moroccan-spiced lamb, lobster bisque soup dumplings, and grilled Korean-style short ribs with ssam sauce. Crafty cocktails, great desserts, and a popular weekend brunch further boost this bistro’s rep.Must-try dish: With so much going on, it’s easy to miss that Artis is secretly an amazing steakhouse, with half a dozen chops expertly grilled, sliced, and presented for sharing." - Douglas Trattner

This was such an awesome place. The food was absolutely phenomenal and quick to be served. The service is amazing, and they made my partner and I feel that we were the only people in the restaurant. Everything was shareable and a perfect portion for 2 people. The atmosphere of the restaurant is awesome, but the restaurant is just a little small, and this place deserves a bigger space. The decor, lighting, and furniture are all perfectly tied into the theme of the restaurant. Made me feel like I was in Paris! Absolutely will be coming back.

Food: excellent taste and combinations, my group shared the beet salad which was a smaller portion with sweet golden beets. We also shared the Green Tehina Hunmus which was light and creamy, and served with delicious bread, and we were given extra upon request. My partner had the Royal with Cheese which was delicious and I would come visit again just to eat that. I had the Cured Salmon Toast which was a good portion and well executed. My sister had the Apple Bomb Waffle, which was light and crispy compared to a more chewy standard waffle. My mom had the breakfast plate with a side of hollandaise and a cappuccino. The hollandaise was well done and the cappuccino was more bitter than sweet. My sisters partner had the biscuits and gravy, of which I tried a very buttery and fluffy biscuit. Service: excellent. We purposefully came to see Elise and she did an amazing job serving our table despite issues with the power and a very busy restauraunt. Environment: we were seated in the backroom with blue walls. There were approximately 18 people which contributed to the high noise volume and significantly decreased air quality, which was in the 2000s, well above a desired <1000 range. I'd recommend drafting the back room or getting more air purifiers for the space and seating expectancy. The room was also dark, due to the limited overhead lighting and one floor lamp in the corner. I'd recommend increasing natural and warm lighting to increase accessibility for your space. Other positive notes include the lighting we viewed in the front room, and the notable 2 gender neutral restrooms! Happy to see it.

We'd been waiting to try this place out and we were blown away by the food and service! The decor is a little cold and sterile but you could view it as a blank slate for the amazing food lol We had the labneh and flatbread, spiced meatballs, Korean short rib, and lobster bisque soup dumplings. The only improvement I could recommend would be a slightly larger portion size for the Korean short rib, two flanken slices felt unsatisfying for one of the higher priced menu items. Otherwise, a stellar meal, accolades to their chefs and servers!

The food is absolutely phenomenal. Jeffrey-the guy posting bad pics of his food is messing with what he gets then posting. Clearly those pics arent legitimately what they are bringing to the table. Liar liar pants on fire. Get an actual hobby Jeffrey. I had the panna cotta without the Kataifi because I'm gluten free. The panna cotta was the best thing about the entire night. It was perfect and refreshing. I also had their eggplant entree. Listen, I hate eggplant because I'm a texture eater and it is always mushy. It doesnt matter how anyone cooks it-it is always still too mushy. Well this eggplant was shockingly not mushy at all. I actually loved it. I was also left wondering what sort of magic they used to transform it so pleasingly. The hummus is phenomenal. I'm one of those people that know what true hummus is supposed to be and so I never get it from stores or restaurants. But Artis makes hummus the traditional, correct, delicious way. It normally comes with pita but I am gluten free so they brought out vegetables. I had am old fashion and it was the best one I have ever had. You know it is a good one when they give you one giant cube, not a bunch of ice. It was so smooth. I had other dishes but did not photograph them. Overall, I really enjoyed the small plates- Deviled eggs, spicy cucumbers, hummus, etc. I also had a sunshine spritz which is their version of an aperol spritz. The apertif is lemon though instead of orange. It was the most stunning spritz I have ever had. It's also dangerous cause I could have easily drank 4 of them. The service was great. Our server was able to help me with my gluten free needs. They accommodated my desire for their salmon that had a sauce containing gluten by changing the sauce last minute. I did not expect that and certainly never do. So it was really nice of them to do that.

The high ratings for this restaurant must be due to the Lakewood bubble effect. The hummus tasted like it came from Costco, and maybe not even that good. I have a difficult time believing it was made from scratch. The clams were the size of my thumb tip, and they gave you five of them for around $20. The fried snapper looked impressive but was not crispy and undercooked. The curry they slapped on top was okay. The prime rib, which I believe was around $70, was something that could have come from Texas Roadhouse but lacking seasoning. It was decent but certainly not worth the price. The mac and cheese, which claimed to have 7-year aged cheddar, was a cheese sauce that could have come from a jar for $14. The pork chops were decent but way undercooked (medium rare) and lacked seasoning. If brainworms are not your thing, then you may want to specify how you want it prepared. Dessert was the high point; the chocolate bourbon praline tart was pretty good. I'm having great difficulty believing the authenticity of these reviews.

We enjoyed our meal at Artis. The menu is divided into how long it takes the kitchen to prepare the foods and when it is ready, it will be served to your table. We ordered the green tehina hummus as an appetizer which was delicious and fresh. For our entree, we split the 28oz porterhouse (they pre-slice all the meat offerings in the kitchen before serving to your table). The sticky toffee cake for dessert was certainly a highlight. The only negative I have to say about Artis is that it is relatively small, and at least for the time being, they really pack in the guests. It can also be noisy at times given everyone is essentially in one room.

Came to Artis for the first time with high expectations, from everything I've seen of the place it seemed unique and interesting. Those expectations were met and exceeded by the staff, food, and experience. I sat at the bar, the bartenders name was Cory. He was attentive, and knowledgeable. He had an in depth understanding of the food, and drinks happily answered any questions, and made great suggestions! The vibe was upscale, but with more smiles than you usually expect at such a nice place! Get the Harrissa Nashville, the 9 Year Mac, and the Panna Cotta. The pickles that come with the Nashville are insanely good! Unfortunately I ate before the camera for all but the last! Update: I wish I could leave a new review but Google will only let you leave one. Came back for the start of brunch and was blown away, the texture on the waffle was insane! The sausage gravy and biscuits looked as good as they tasted. I've been back since and the hummus was one of my favorite things. If Jeffrey Brown thinks it tastes like Costco hummus I'd like him to point me to the brand. That or he's never had good hummus, either way trust me you won't regret it.
