East Village Beer Hall Zum Schneider Closes After 20 Years — and More Closings | Eater NY

"Midtown sandwich shop Artiserie Sandwich Boutique shuttered this month, citing high food-delivery app fees (up to 30% per delivery order) among the reasons, and posted a notice advising customers not to order through third-party apps unless necessary." - Luke Fortney

Outstanding selection and quality of yummy baked goods - this is part of the La Provance family. Great hours - there’s a brunch menu as well! Well run - met the manager👍

This cafe reminds of a place in Europe. The baked goods are eye candy! Ordered a tiramisu iced latte and my friend got a chai. Bravo! So good. Glad there’s a place like this.

We ate everything before we could get a picture, it’s THAT good! The service was incredible and everyone is so nice. The pastries are beautiful and taste divine! I highly recommend coming in for coffee, goodies and a great atmosphere. We will certainly be back.

I’m a big fan of Artisan Fine Bakery, especially the NW 23rd location, but this Lake Oswego spot didn’t quite live up to the same standard. The latte was disappointing; the espresso tasted like an over extracted, burnt long shot. Tables were dirty, and when someone finally wiped one down, it was left soaking wet not ideal. I ordered my favorite raspberry croissant and also tried the fruit tart croissant. The raspberry one was okay, but the fruit tart had a sticky, stale texture that didn’t feel fresh. I go to the NW location often enough to know when something’s off. That said, the highlight of the visit was definitely the coconut chocolate chip cookie. So good, probably the best thing I got today. I ended up going back for two more before heading out. The space also felt a bit cluttered and not as welcoming as it could be. Hoping to see some positive changes here because I know what this bakery is capable of.

Flavorful pastries. In a delightful sheek setting. Desserts where fresh creamy. Favorite hazelnut and carrot cake.

Google
I just placed an unbelievably large order of 12 ham and cheese, croissants, and a load of boxes of desserts, And I was so impressed with how quick and beautifully every single box came out! They delivered in powerhouse speed and were so polite and welcoming! Beautiful aesthetics to the café and the desserts! Highly recommend! I also want to add that I tried the iced Matcha and it was very healthy And authentic tasting, And didn’t taste bad like the nasty sugar Starbucks one!

Lovely spot, wish I had taken more pictures of the place it was lovely and such kind staff❤️ the drinks we ordered and the pastries were delicious as well, definitely recommend it and worth the price❤️🙌🏾 Just had to add my favorite drink was the caramel macchiato, I ordered it with one shot of espresso to avoid too much caffeine, and got iced as well 😍💕 it was the best caramel macchiato I’ve ever had!!!

Google
The service was excellent, the team members were kind and friendly. The atmosphere was good, and clean, it reminded me of The Versailles Palace, but the only reason why Im giving them 4 stars instead of 5 it’s because the cherry tomatoes avocado toast was too salty, the Mimosa was good, I ordered the raspberry mimosa.

Yelp
Update: I went back for the mango dessert and an oat milk hot chocolate and everything was delicious!

Yelp
Came with a friend to pick up croissants. Very tight quarters in this establishment. There was 4-5 people in line on Monday afternoon. There tables are very close to one another. It's a very bright interior with chandeliers. the tables all are white splash with grey designs. It gives a 'fancy' vibe in it. We made it to the front and there were a few types of croissants to choose from. Baquettes and croissants and cookies. They are pretty good size. They have fancy desserts too where you can share or take home. I had to inquire about two of their pastries without a tag on them. An apple filling Kouign Amann or Vanilla (plain) Kouign Amann . I chose the vanilla. I brought it home and the pastry outside was still crispy but the inner parts wasn't as good as it was if you had eaten it fresh at the location. If you buy pastries here, I will suggest you eat it fresh. Otherwise it gets a bit soggy in texture and taste. Apparently, this establishment sells baked goods and it does brunch with cocktails.

Yelp
We found this place through social media and we lovedddd everything about it! The service was great (pretty quick to place your order and receive your food). There were plenty of options for sweet items, but a limited savory menu. I ordered an aperol spritz and the chef's special benedict, while my friend also got an aperol spritz with the french onion soup and pumpkin croissant. There was decent seating indoors and some smaller tables outside. The ambiance inside was very clean and welcoming with plenty of pastries on display. The food was delicious - I loved that the benedict was on a croissant (I didn't expect that when I was placing the order, but the texture of the crunchy croissant was SO GOOD!). My friend also loved everything she ordered! I am honestly looking forward to coming back! My new fav place to catch up with pals and even grab a quick sweet treat!

Yelp
The place had some really great bakery items. Tried a few of their very well presented pastries and it was good. The seating there felt limited due to the constant flux of people. The place also has breakfast items where they have savory items too. Check it out for an informal or formal gathering.

Yelp
Met a friend for lunch here and had a wonderful time. The ambiance makes me feel like I am back in Paris. Lots of fantastic pastries and desserts to choose from. I ordered the Heirloom Cherry Tomato Toast which was super yummy. My friend got the French onion soup, side salad, and a croissant which she enjoyed all three. The staff were friendly and attentive. Would return and intend to get some pasties to go next time.

Yelp
I'm in heaven knowing that this delicious spot is closer to home! I'm in Lake Oswego way more than I am in Portland...so now I don't have to drive into Portland when I want this special treat. When I say special ; I mean it! The croissants are delicious with that perfect crunch on the outside with a light fluffy inside complimented with pistachio cream filling. I brought the raspberry one to my husband. I love that this location you can have coffee and sit down to enjoy your pastry or a sandwich. Prices reflect the time, beauty, artistry put into each amazing dessert and pastry! The macarons are pretty fantastic too. If you are ever in the area make sure to stop by and grab a treat. Parking area very close by if street parking is full.

Yelp
Have a little taste of Paris in Lake Oswego! It's worth a minute just to gaze at all the delicious confections in the case. They are more delicious than they look! It's noteworthy that they offer vegan confections and have dog friendly seating on the sidewalk. There's also a wall of Parisian teas and treats that look delectable. The staff are friendly and keep up with the busy traffic in the shop.

Yelp
Deserts are beautiful but bland or worse. Not worth it. I've had cookies , macaroons and more. Fun t o sit and have a coffee but sub par sweets.

Yelp
Don't go. Just like so many TikTok posts and comments say, all the employees hate their job. You'll receive the crappiest service there. Just walk a few steps further and go St. Honore. Their service is always nice and friendly. This place is pretty to look at. That's about it. I don't know who they think they are but they act like they are Michelin-starred restaurant。

Yelp
love to support this bakery. I think they have absolutely the most delicious croissants. This is a very cute location in Lake Oswego. I tried the tomato toast. It had whole peppercorns on it, which was not enjoyable. I wouldn't get it again, but I would go back to try something. I actually prefer the northwest location but still a great spot.

Yelp
Cost for a custom cake were outrageous in comparison with other well respected bakers in the neighborhood and surrounding area. Store is beautiful and individual treats are wonderful.

Tammi H.

Yelp
I wanted to like this place. Decor is beautiful. But aside from that, there is nothing to rave about. I ordered a ham and cheese croissant that they forgot about for 40 minutes, and only brought out after I checked in again. Wish I had never gotten that cold reheated croissant, because I ended up having terrible food poisoning later that night.

Yelp
Scrumptious! Beautiful and delicious pastries! The customer service is amazing and the shop is sooooo clean! A little spendy but worth it! We got a chocolate dessert and a little strawberry cake. Will definitely be back. Everything about the shop is perfect.

Yelp
Feels like you're in a little France! The outdoor seating is absolutely lovely in the summertime. Really good food I highly recommend the rainbow dish and the BLT is made on an amazing croissant style bread. Sooooo good!

Yelp
So many sweet choices to pick from, macarons, cakes, pastries. Teas. This place is decorated so cute with mini chandeliers and marble tables, escape to France!

Kelly A.

Yelp
It's a beautiful store inside. the displays are great. The pastries look amazing. The meals and drinks have a great presentation to them. My big complaint is that there are literally no options that don't have dairy in them, that doesn't compromise the meal by removing it. Even their only salad dressing is made with milk. The only non gluten item is French onion soup. While French foods are quite bread and cheese heavy, this is the one of very few places in the broader Portland area that has zero accommodations for some very common food allergies.

Gita R.

Yelp
Too expensive the pastries are good but too expensive I guess both this one and the one on NW you are paying for location at least this one has free parking

MC B.

Yelp
Delighted to have discovered this charming eatery with a strong 'Paris' vibe. Exceptionally delicious onion soup! I plan to make Artisserie my 'go to' place to meet with friends.

Yelp
An exceptional menu and excellent atmosphere. It looks like it belongs in Paris. We have been there three times now and enjoyed every bite. The coffee is great and comes in a nice cup. The food is not cheap but the quality makes it well worth the price. The service is excellent. I highly recommend you try it!
