The 18 Best Restaurants in Budapest, Hungary | Eater

"Artizán is a rightfully popular new-wave bakery in Budapest’s city center. You’ll find a range of sourdough breads, pastries, sandwiches, and fruit juices, but keep an eye out for two of their breakfast favorites: the kakaós csiga, a roll flaunting thick layers of chocolate, and the vanilla- and berry-filled cardamom bun. On your way in or out, be sure to check out Hungary’s most famous Art Nouveau building, designed by Ödön Lechner, located just across the street." - Tas Tobias

One of the best pastries I had in Budapest! 🥐 Super crispy and thin layers—you can literally see them flake apart. So light but packed with flavor. Seriously amazing. If you're in Budapest, this place is a must-visit. Hoping it's open on Sunday because I’m definitely going back! All the staffs were friendly and helping customers even though 5 min before closing time!! What an amazing place. 👏

Guys… They DO NOT have vegan stuff! Yesterday I bought some pastries, asking specifically for vegan to an employee. I arrived home and ate it and it was absolutely NOT vegan. But just to check before writing something, I went back again today and asked if they have vegan stuff. Today they said they don’t.!!! I wonder why I got mislead like that yesterday. I am lactose intolerant!!! If you are just looking for genuine buttery bakery, this is the place to go! For that they deserve 5 stars. I just wish they would have had honesty on the first day. Update: what has been marketed to ma as vegan was the salty pastry, with feta… Thanks a lot 👌 Pls educate your employees

The prices are a bit high BUT its really really worth it! Everything is so so beautifully made and fresh! The atmosphere is cozy and warm, the staff is incredibly nice and everything is neat! There is an upstairs, downstairs area to eat in, and a patio in front of the shop also! I highly recommend to try it out, the cafes are amazing!

Lovely staff and wonderful pastries!!! I would recommend. Also, the girl that helped me was just so friendly. Great service! Treat yourself and get yourself the pastry with white chocolate and raspberry, the outside is sooo flaky and inside perfect soft and balanced.

Very nice place! It is very busy, so I suggest to look for a table before to order, as there’s no table service! The staff is friendly and smiling, however they put a bit of pressure when ordering due to the queue (we tried to ask few different ingredients in regards of some pastries). There are no descriptions of the pastries so, unless you understand Hungarian, you might have to guess. Lots of different options, savoury and sweets (not a good place for people who don’t eat nuts and similar as the majority contain those). Good coffee and warm atmosphere (:

The best breakfast we ate in Budapest! Although it is quite pricey, it is definitely worth it! You also need to wait in a queue to get in, as it is very popular. I think sweet roll with pistacchio and raspberry was the best sweet roll I have ever eaten! I also recommend croque madam - I was full after eating it. Lemonade came in a huge glass and also is worth recommending. Staff was doing their best, smiling and helping everybody, despite the place was packed with people.

Google recommended this bakery, and it turned out to be one of the best finds of the trip. I arrived early and was greeted by the smell of freshly baked pastries. Everything looked amazing, and the one I tried was warm, flaky, and full of flavor. The place had a cozy, welcoming feel, and the staff were kind and efficient. It wasn’t too crowded in the morning, which made the experience even better. Simple, high-quality, and totally worth the stop.

We had discovered this lovely bakery through Google reviews and were curious to try it. We walked in, looked over the baked goods, and ordered three different items that caught our eye. The staff member who helped us was very kind and attentive. Everything we tried was delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed sitting outside in the open air while savoring their pastries. We also liked their coffee and orange juice. In short, this is a wonderful bakery I would absolutely recommend.
