Google
Very modern, clean and efficient airport. The airline workers speak several languages so this is very helpful. Also, be sure to check your cell phone data plan. In parts of Santiago and outside of the city cell phone coverage is sketchy, so you might want to check into a special data plan while you're in the country.

Nice airport that has been renovated but there is still a lot of renovations happening. There are good options for food. The security clearance can take a while so don’t arrive too close to departure because the lines to pass security can take a while.

The place is clean and big and well laid out. The international departures is on one side the local flight roach across the way. It is easy to get through relatively quickly, especially for a capital airport. Bathrooms were clean. Duty free had a lot on offer.

Large, modern, very well kept and very efficient airport. Due to its large size, of you are coming in with an international flight and changing to a national one, do keep in mind that there will be a lot of walking involved. You also have to physically pick up your luggage and go through customs, then drop it off again, even if you are flying both flights with the same airline, but the process is quick and smooth. Custom controls are also very efficient and quick. The national terminal offers a spectacular view on the runway and thanks to its large windows is full on natural lights. Even if you have a long layover, this is a very comfortable airport in which to wait, with lots of food options, lots of seating options and decent shopping, especially the duty free stores (in the International terminal)

It’s been 8 years since I’ve been here. Looks modern and even have the people movers working to get people through. I took the airport mobility assistance service. Interesting. Combination of wheelchair and carts and back to wheelchair. Patience is helpful if not required as line up are long. Translators help as not all staff speak English and some not as knowledgeable for airport services. The Uber ride pick up at Door 5 was on Floor 3 and I got dropped off at Floor 1 and I had to scramble to get there. Overall, great physical facility and need to dial in expect of fast but good service nevertheless.

Google
Loved the people here! It was so refreshing traveling alone to have the flight attendants I did, their ability to help you learn to speak some of the most common phrases and sentences to help you navigate, quick customs and security entering and leaving. The shops were great, prices great, food great. I will be back!

Pretty solid terminal with all the required facilities. That LATAM VIP lounge is outstanding!

Flying to Rapa Nui (Easter Island / Isla de Pascua) was really easy and good with LATAM. Checking in at LATAM-counter, going to PDI and check bag-check was done in just 25 minutes. We were there 3 hours in advance but I think a little later would have been totally fine. Now drinking a coffee without stress.

Yelp
We came through there a few times during our trip to Chile and was pleasantly surprised with the experience. The airport itself was very easy to navigate. Security was easy to get through even though we were part of a big group. The gate area was comfortable but like all airports, there are never enough outlets to charge your electronics. I did use the Wi-Fi in the airport and it worked fine. The airport itself was very clean and seemed like it had a lot of amenities. Overall good experience

Yelp
Almost two hours in customs line. I don't really think there could possibly be any more to say

Yelp
This airport is so empty. It's so unlike American airports and kinda creepy. It almost feels like COVID times. It's nice though. It seems newly renovated. We waited on the tarmac for a good 30 minutes for the plane occupying our gate to leave. I'm not sure whose fault that is...the airline or the airport, but it was slightly annoying. Once inside the airport, it was AC which was nice because it was a trek to customs and baggage claim. When we got to baggage claim there was no line whatsoever and it took 1 minute to get my passport stamped and processed. Baggage was slow to come out. There are 6 baggage claim belts and only one was in use for our flight. Woohoo welcome to Chile!

Yelp
NOTICE to all tourists !!!!!! PLEASE WATCH OUT !!!! Be careful there are FAKE taxis and shuttles that try to take 20 000 off your cards !!!! Make sure it's a REAL LEGIT TAXI!!! Do NOT give your cards pay cash it's only 22 dollars !!!!!!! Please be careful !!!!!!!! A lot of us got robbed not just me

Yelp
Loved how modern this airport was and how organized it was. Everyone we interacted with was super friendly and the air canada check in counter was probably the best I've ever experienced. We were through security and customs with lots of time to spare. Our gate changed and we got ample communication about it as well. I think there's different carryon rules in chile as the boarding process was delayed as all carryon needs to be checked for liquids to be 100ml or less. None the less they boarded through 2 gates which totally sped up the process!

Yelp
So you've decided to go to Chile... Well, my friends, if you're heading to the capital of Santiago, then this is your airport! The airport, for an airport in Latin America, is fairly modern. Then again, I'm comparing it to Peru's airport in Lima, so there's that. They've streamlined the process at this airport to go through customs no problem. They essentially stamp you and give you a paper visa. Keep that please. Otherwise, you'll have issues leaving the country. Employees are helpful and kind, even if you don't speak Spanish. Still, you're probably better off at least learning some phrases. Chileans aren't exactly known to speak English well. It isn't as if you're in Norway in Europe or something along those lines. Anyhow, this airport has both an international and national section. Chile is so large that people often take flights from one side of the country to the other. That makes sense when you consider that Easter Island is nearly six hours away by plane! In terms of transport, taxis are the norm, although they do have Transvip, which may as well be their Uber. Still, if you get in too late as we did, a taxi is a more viable option. Note, too, that if you rent a car, not all companies have an office at the airport (specifically referring to Sixt) and not all work on Sundays (Sixt I think was the only one we knew of that actually did work that day). My best piece of advice to you is just to plan ahead and be prepared for delays. While the flights tend to be timely, not much else is. Service at restaurants is generally slow and good luck not wanting to yell at the Wi-Fi. It's free, but it has a mind of its own. Getting on and dropping is a common occurrence.

Yelp
It's a very well designed international airport with plenty of moving walkways to help you navigate from one terminal to the other. The service is friendly and the overall architectural layout is functional, spacious and aesthetically pleasing. Charging ports are scant, but that's common for most airports in the region.

Yelp
Absolutely awful airport. I have experience with over 100 airports and this is one of the worst by far. Atrocious wait times (close to 3 hrs to get through immigration) only to find that every checked bag for our friend group of four had been lost. No one working at the baggage counter knew how to get a hold of anyone from JetSmart (the airline) and told us basically "too bad...drive back here (2 hrs each direction) tomorrow and discuss it with jetsmart during the day." For whatever reason, there were three immigration officers working to accommodate approximately 350 people. And they weren't even using the electronic immigration stations. The food leaves a lot to be desired. If you manage to get a seat, most of the menu is unavailable. What you do get will be microwaved from frozen. Additionally, our flight was supposed to take off at 1030pm, and showed "on time"...yet no one was at the gate, no information was provided, and the entire plane's worth of people were completely in the dark. No messages sent and nothing posted. 1030pm came and went. Finally they opened up boarding, no mention of why they were so delayed, and we took off about an hour after we were supposed to. This of course delayed our arrival time, and then the immigration and subsequent bags fiasco put the nails in the coffin of our vacation. We missed out on our only beach day bc we arrived at the hotel after 0530 in the morning (instead of just before 1am, as planned/promised)...had to sleep during first half of beach day to avoid getting sick. This airport, for multiple reasons, has become the butt of any jokes amongst me and my traveling friends. Anything even hinting of mass incompetence is immediately compared to this airport. Try to avoid it entirely, is my recommendation.

Yelp
Travel during Covid isn't easy. Internationally it can be a nightmare. If you are a non Spanish speaking foreigner traveling through Chile & can learn the necessary words & phrases the staff here is a tremendous help. Many semi fluent English speakers but even the non English speaking folks are very patient. My group of 28 went through Chile en route to Mendoza & came back from there also. We were transit only which can be difficult to explain, but they knew & they were helpful. As for the layout this is a large terminal airport you will walk to find your designations. The only restaurant worth mentioning is la Cabrera Al paso, which is so new there is no menu & only four choices, but the staff was great for our large group

Yelp
Santiago Chile International Airport is one of the best and cleanest Airports I have been in South America. Security was very efficient! Oh LATAM Airlines is affiliated with DELTA and if you are Platinum Status or have Delta Reserve or Platinum AMEX credit card you get into the LATAM Signature Lounge in Santiago Airport!! Hey great International Airport in Santiago!! They earn an easy 5 Stars !!

Yelp
It's been about 9 years since I was here.  I barely remember my first visit other than it is a bit out of town. The airport is expanding with several new terminals being built, that right now makes it a bit of a walk from secruity and those transitting.  The older part of the airport has better seating in regards to laying out to sleep.  The seats do not have arm rests so you can lay out.  I spotted a lot of people, myself included, spread out catching some sleep.  The older terminal has more charging ports than the new terminals.  I walked around the 2 new terminals and could not spot any outlets other than at the McDonald's.   The older terminal has plenty but they are concentrated at several charging stations. Currently, it will change as the airports expands, the food scene is better in the original terminal.  Selection is not huge but it is varied.  Big name food options include Johnny Rockets, Starbucks, Subway, and Ruby Tuesday. Airport has free WiFi but the old terminal has a different log on from the new terminal.  I found the wifi in the older terminal a bit quicker to log on.  The new terminal makes you reconnect every 30 minutes.

Yelp
Clear customs and keep the slip of paper. Taxi. In and out here, separated by three days. Arriving in Chile was easy and I cleared customs quickly as I was sitting at the front of the plane and the wait for an officer was short. I will tell you that you MUST keep that slip of paper that the officer gives you. You will not be able to check into your hotel without it. I'd recommend taking a digital picture of it, just in case. I did not have checked bags, so I did not have to wait. Santiago's metro does not extend to the airport which is very unfortunate and why I can't give them a fifth star. Just after you leave the arriving duty free area and before you enter the arrivals hall, you'll spot a taxi stand. Easy, these guys speak a decent amount of English. Let them know your destination and they'll give you a price. Accept it or don't. If you do, they'll take a credit card (since I did not manage to find an ATM in the airport) and you won't have to negotiate with a taxi driver. The equivalent of US$35 for a 40 minute drive clear across town. Worth it. Returning to the airport was similarly easy. I was well ahead of schedule so I had enough time to wander the airport for a little while. Lots of check in desks with many different airlines. Mine was not yet staffed, but I had an electronic boarding pass that saw me through security. I also had to clear immigration to leave the country where the officer took that receipt. Lots of restaurants in the gate area from Ruby Tuesday's to Johnny Rockets and even a Dunkin' Donuts. It's practically the USA here!

Yelp
I wasn't impressed with this international airport. Upon arrival from a straight flight from JFK (which the flight itself was great), the first thing I noticed was the smell. It's a combination of JFK and LAX kind of smell. Even with two masks on, I could smell it. International side of the airport review: After getting off of the plane, my fiancé and I immediately used the restroom closest to the gate. The women's restroom had three stalls and there was one and toilet paper all over the floor...not to mention that the smell in the restroom was WAY worse than the rest of the airport. My fiancé told me that there was soap in the men's restroom but no running water. When had to get our passports and C19 checked before going to get the required PCR test before going through immigration. The PCR test took an incredibly long time and it honestly baffled my mind that they're testing everyone for COVID but there is no social distancing and the room is packed with about 50 people at any given time (depending on airline arrivals) waiting in line. Not to mention, the PCR room didn't even have a working hand sanitizer station right before entering. The lady who did my PCR test was friendly and gentle so it made it a little easier. After the PCR test, we had to go through immigration which also took awhile because there was only one security guy working the booth. He too was friendly and patient as we aren't fluent in Spanish and there was a language barrier. We were pretty quick with that so we were off to FINALLY get our luggage. But also note, after luggage, you have to go to one of two lines if you have any items to claim/get your bags X-rayed again. This entire process from getting off the plane to finally being able to leave the airport was about 3 hours. The staff are all quite friendly and no one was rude to us despite our language barrier and being tourists. Even security was nice throughout the airport. However, the airport is dirty and the restrooms were in horrible shape. Domestic review: I flew out of the domestic side of the airport a day after I flew into the International side. Domestic was a breeze. We showed our passports and boarding passes, went through security in about 10 minutes, and went right to our gate. Most shops and restaurants are not open at 05:30. Bathrooms in domestic were cleaner than international but still had a bad smell. Overall, super easy to get through and reminded me of HPN except there are more gates. International from Chile to Argentina review: Ah yes, another updated review of this airport and still 3 stars. I might as well live here but alas, this is my last day flying through this airport. I have now entered Gate E of the international portion of this airport and it is quite nice. I'd say it's 90% nicer than the rest of the airport. Still stinks of rotten garbage but it's definitely cleaner and there are more restrooms that are not only functioning, but also clean. It's a bit of a walk in between gates. From PDI checkin to E gates, it's about 15 minutes of walking. However, there are more areas to shop and grab something to eat compared to the international arrival and domestic flights areas.

Yelp
This is a nice airport and very representative of Chile. It has friendly people, modern restaurants and facilities. On the down side, people complain that SCL is a small airport for the region that gets clogged when all the international flights come in. It took about an hour to clear immigration and customs. I can say the same for NRT and YYC too. I have learned that breathing is more important and going quickly through lines and so I breath. I visited the AA lounge and enjoyed free food and local wines. This isn't a great airport for United travelers. I'm not sure United has a lounge here, I haven't found it yet. The United people don't even come to the airport until evening so I can't ask. There is plenty of shopping in the terminal for those who forgot their spouse over the past few days ... oh, I got to get something! Bye!!!

Nick P.

Yelp
Very nice. The only problem are the vultures taxi drivers in after you leave Customs and try to somehow find your difficult way to the very nice cheap buses which should have a yellow painted line leading to them. It would be great if taxis were regulated like in Paris charging the same to a specific area which should be the same as a normal taxi, a set price. A fair price. That way you keep the tourist coming back and they tell their friends to go too. It is a beutiful country but scams are common. It would be nice if the police spoke English too like in all the developed countries including Asia and Africa.

Yelp
3.5 stars! I flew in and out of this airport a couple of times and it's a pretty decent international airport. CONCESSIONS: There are plenty of shops to pick up some last minute souvenirs, like the Britt shop, where you can buy mugs, shirts, bottles of pisco, mini Rapa Nui moai figurines, and Cafe Britt coffee and chocolates and alfajores. There are some mini markets to pick up premade sammies, drinks, magazines, etc. There's also a Cruz Verde pharmacy in case you need to pick up some supplies. Food-wise, there were a few restaurants in pre-security/landside, as well as a Dunkin Donuts and a Telepizza. In the domestic terminal, post-security, there was a Victoria's Secret, Bath & Body Works, a Starbucks, and a couple other eateries and stores. In the international terminal post-security, there were duty-free stores, Starbucks, Subway, etc. WIFI: There is now free wifi at the airport - you have to register with email or some social media account. It's pretty good wifi, although sometimes it kicks you off and you have to re-login. PUBLIC TRANSIT: There are two buses that I know of that will connect you with the metro system of Santiago. Centropuerto is one and it will take you all the way to Los Heroes metro, and there you can transfer onto a local bus or the metro to get you to downtown Santiago. TurBus is a major bus company that runs the other bus and will take you all the way to Terminal Alameda bus station, which is where the University of Santiago metro stop is. Both options are pretty cheap (1600 pesos for Centropuerto, 1700 pesos for TurBus), just make sure you have cash to pay. The buses run pretty frequently during the day and night (not sure about late at night or too learly in the morning). Super convenient and inexpensive way to get into town. I prefer taking TurBus. OTHER: Plenty of ATMS (called cajero automatico) to withdraw some pesos. Charging stations by gates to charge your phone. Each time I came to the airport to depart, lines were pretty long, so if you have to check in a bag, come EARLY. Checking in with Sky Airlines took the longest - we were nearly in line for 50 minutes just waiting to drop off our bags! Luckily, staff came around asking if people were on a certain flight that was about to leave, so that they could be moved ahead, but it took a ridiculously long time. The lines for LAN and United weren't nearly as long, but it wasn't quick. Come early! Overall a solid international airport! Buen viaje!

Yelp
pretty nice airport, seems very new and with plenty of restaurants and stores to spend some quality time while waiting for my next connection. the staff is very helpful and speak English with was very good to know even though I can speak Spanish I didn't have to. there are plenty of kids playground areas which is nice and these areas are right by the gate as well. also another thing they have around that was not very successful in my book is the charging stations, they are some little areas with one pole with chargers, ppl tend to gravitate on those as they were little planets and not leave space for others to come by and charge their stuff. another annoying thing about the charging stations is the fact that they do not have American friendly plugs so be sure to have your adapter otherwise you will run out of juice. the seats around the airport were very nice and newer comparing to the Rio de Janeiro international airport. the sad thing here though is thatThe internet is almost none existent, the wifi here is terrible. they have all sorts of blocks so you can navigate and look at your facebook and things like that but posting and specially using of WHATSUP is paid. it is not a very great time to just hang out at the gates waiting for your flight. they have several VIP rooms in this airport an most of them take day passes for a fee. that is definitely what I did. I went to the LATAM VIP room and spent my 6 hour layover there with far better internet and some free food and nice shower. if you have a long layover I would tell you not to hesitate and do that, the VIP rooms are not as expensive as they seem to be. also another very annoying thing was the fact that some gates areas are locked and they only open a while before the flight, we almost missed our flight because of one of those. so be aware of the TVs and your flight schedule for any change of gates as the airlines here seem not to bother to tell the passengers over the PA

Yelp
This is probably one of the nicest airports in South America. Santiago is a huge city and Chile is definitely doing pretty well economically. Are use this airport on my recent trip going to Santiago and flying to Easter Island and the experience was decent. There was a lot of stores inside the airport for all your shopping needs. The Wi-Fi is quite fast which is super helpful if you have a long layover. And if you need transportation Uber is very easy and convenient to and from the airport. Airport security is pretty fast and I didn't have to wait very long. The waiting area is it very clean and the airport is definitely dated and probably needs a facelift soon. Bathrooms are OK, not super clean.

Stephen B.

Yelp
First time in Chile. Arrived on LAN from the USA after a 10.5 hours flight from JFK. Very, very long walk from gate to long wait at Immigration area, then another long wait to go through customs where all your baggage is X-Rayed. Read your Customs Declaration Form first, and declare everything you bring with you, especially food products. In general my impression was of a fine, modern airport, with plenty of facilities, shops, dining, and all other services you would expect at a major airport..

Pablo M.

Yelp
I had a two hour layover at this airport. The Chilean fast food pizza place was pretty decent, and there was a live show going on as well. Overall pleased to have had a layover in this airport. In comparison to other airports, this one is not too strict. You can leave your shoes on, and need not put your laptop on a separate bin. This is something I noticed in most South American airports. TIP: The layover line is pretty long once you get out of the plane. Many people also save money by not flying direct. I would recommend going right away to the line and pass through security in order to not miss your flight.

Teresa S.

Yelp
I vacationed in Chile and was in and out of this airport during my travels. The airport was clean and a lot bigger than I expected. It was easy to maneuver around and customer service was great with all the staff I encountered including immigration. Lol I used a local Chilean airline to travel to San Pedro de Acatama and was a little worried with the budget airlines but everything went very smoothly. I had to wait a few hours in the airport and I felt completely safe especially since there was hundreds of other passengers also waiting. I was worried about my limited Spanish but was able to get from point A to point B very easily. There are plenty of shops and some restaurants to eat. You do get bombarded when exiting by the taxi drivers looking for fares. I used Uber for my transportation from the airport and met my driver across the street by the hotel which was less than the "official " taxis.

Naomi K.

Yelp
Decent airport, speedy immigration and fairly simple customs. It's important that you don't import any kind of dried fruits or nuts since they're strict on that, so be careful with what you pack for snacks. They make you go through customs for flights to Easter island through Santiago, since they don't have immigration over there. Then after you exit you have to circle back upstairs to check in for your new flight. They have a lounge in the domestic terminal but more options in the international terminal. Don't expect big shopping, the Porsche store is small and the Mac makeup counter is a small stand, bath and body is in the international terminal. Decent options for food, pizza restaurants, bars, cafes, and even a Dunkin donuts (if you're craving it, though the options looks slim). Make sure you bring your two prong adapter for the outlets. Brazilian and Chilean outlets are compatible.

Adam D.

Yelp
Clean airport that's very easy to navigate. But it could use some upgrades and the food options are absolutely atrocious. For a major international airport such as this I was hoping for more.

E. C.

Yelp
Apparently, the whole new wing of the airport being managed by a multinational corporation. There is a big sign that states it is "ecological", but this translates to the following: there are no trash cans anywhere in sight. The other big issue is there is nowhere to charge your phone or computer. There are only scant outlets on the walls, which would appear to be for the staff to vacuum the floor. The fact I wasn't able to work on my computer before getting onto the flight, charge up, like in the workstations that most airports that I'm used to have adopted with multiple USP and charging ports, made it very inconvenient per. On a personal note, I always enjoy having a last Pisco sour from Chile before boarding my flight, but there are no longer any Chilean-based, Chilean style restaurants on the new international boarding side. If you happen to be on the old terminal side, I highly recommend the restaurant "el último pisco sour"/ "the last pisco sour".

Barney C.

Yelp
The airport is fine. I mean planes land and take-off ... but one major flaw is the food options. Need more / better restaurants.

Malini A.

Yelp
I used this airport a couple of times during my visit to Chile. Very easy to navigate - signage is very clear and it's not a big airport. Only few counters at check-in are open which makes the lines longer to check in. Used sky airlines couple of times and had to wait in line for check-in. While departures baggage came out fast and didn't have to wait for that during domestic travel. Very clean airport. Used the money exchange at the airport - process was smooth and fast. Food and shopping options at the airport were there and they sell food in the sky airlines which was helpful since we didn't have time between transits. The language is a bit of a problem. Staff can not communicate in English. When we arrived in Chile with Latam our luggage didn't arrive and it was such a problem checking out the status at the baggage collection office. They finally delivered it to us after 36 hours but during that time no one could tell us the status.

Spencer H.

Yelp
A modern airport with decent stores and food options. However, as usual, the shops are pretty expensive, when compared to US prices. The gate waiting area seats are kinda gross, they were a green cloth type seat that's past its useful life. They do have random charge areas for electronics. Customs is okay, but yes, depending on your arrival time you may have to wait. My flight was probably the first in the morning so I didn't have to wait a long time. You also have to go through passport control when you leave, and that wait depends on the time as well. Getting to/from the airport to downtown is simple, there are two bus options that cost about $3 each way, and start/end at popular subway/metro stations. To leave the airport, you exit customs, go to the right near door 6 and outside there's a bus area. Unless you are in a money spending taxi mood, this is the cheapest option.

Fazle H.

Yelp
The staff at this airport are really nice and this place is a major hub for latin America. it sits right next to Andes and you get a great view from the airport. This place is also very busy too, The duty free shops are ok but I never buy any of that anyways. This place is modern and up to date as far as building technology and infrastructure.

Kaori M.

Yelp
Not much special thing to mention. Actually I was hoping price in Santiago was cheaper than the U.S., but not at all. Even a bit higher maybe. Most people can speak English at the airport.

Kevin M.

Yelp
When it comes to airports, I always start with the question, "is it worse than Laguardia?" If the answer is no, it's an automatic 3 stars. As far as airports go, this place ranked better than average and provides a relatively seamless experience. The airport itself is very clean and fairly easy to navigate, even for hose who don't speak Spanish. Gates are easy to find, easy exit and just an overall fairly modern airport. There are also a good amount of shops and restaurants scattered about. Where things go south is the taxi situation. I realize that in a lot of countries the taxi drivers can be pretty aggressive, but in Santiago they take it to a whole new level. There were a few drivers practically chasing me down and hovering near me after tell them no multiple times. This went on for 15 minutes until I finally found my uber (which can be complicated to locate at the airport here) Aside from the taxi nightmare, this was a pretty good experience in a nice airport.

Brandon C.

Yelp
If you have the misfortune of arriving here in the morning with a bunch of other flights, prepare to wait at least an hour to clear customs. When you leave there can also be long lines at ticket counters depending on the efficiency of the various airlines. Customs on the way out is also a bit of a wait, yet not as bad later in the day. The airport itself has a nice (expensive) duty free shop, decent restaurants, a smattering of souvenir and high end specialty shops, and clean restrooms. It is not huge, so getting around is not complicated. The staff at the custom booths and luggage screening areas (your luggage goes through a scanner in the way out to make sure you are not bringing plants/produce into the country) are helpful as well. There are decent connecting flight options here. Recently they dropped the required reciprocity fee to fly to Mendoza, Argentina.

Bruno G.

Yelp
A decent size airport that has been somewhat refurbished over the past years. It is fairly easy to check in, pass security and customs in a efficient amount of time. Once past security there is a decent sized duty-free store and a couple of restaurants. Some of the gates are in dire need of renovations and should stop hoarding furnishings by the gates. They do have a good free wi-fi service that is easy to get connected to and is fast.

Yelp
Not my favorite airport, the check-in lines are a mess because there aren't enough ropes to guide the people so they just block the walkways. Few and far between food options with limited seating, ATMs with high withdrawal fees and hardly any public seating before security. It seems to be in dire need of expansion.

Hello M.

Yelp
Overall this airport is easy to navigate and has a decent amount of Shops/Restaurants. The only Duty Free store is a bit pricey for my taste, I don't like how they jacked up the prices compared to the Non-Duty Free shops. The view as you descend for landing is AMAZING! Make sure you have your camera out ready to take pictures.

Yelp
Mostly easy to navigate. Crowded but things are easy to find. They do have better food options than a lot of other airports I've been to. I was a little confused about where to go for the buses and I speak Spanish. Since the have multiple levels, I just wasn't sure which level to go to. On the way back I was stuck there for a few hours but I had great food and the restaurant didn't complain that I was just sitting there for hours charging my phone and with all my luggage, hehe. If you are going to Argentina Andes or Patagonia, it's always way cheaper to fly into this airport and then just take a bus to cross the border! That's what I did. I think the bus ticket to Mendoza was like $15 and it's just like a 3 hour ride but if I flew directly into Mendoza, the flight would have costed me $400 more! Also, free and reliable WIFI!

Yelp
Nice, clean, modern, efficient, easy to transition from a domestic flight to the international departures area. I was lucky to have access to the VIP lounge for LAN which made life a bit nicer while waiting for my flight to depart (free sushi!) but wandering around, the airport was nice enough. There was a Dunkin Donuts in case you can't wait to get a taste of America before getting on the flight.

Yelp
Arrived from Atlanta the other day, and it took us 2 hours to clear immigration and customs. Come on. Put more people on the job.

Yelp
Aeropuerto Internacional Arturo Merino Benitez is as much like the country it serves, a modern and efficient airport. I'd have to say it is the best I've seen in Latin America. The arrivals area is a little small and crowded but the departures area is very spacious and comfortable, especially the gates areas. Lots of shopping and food choices including a Starbucks with free wifi. It's about 25-35 minutes from the main business centers in Santiago by cab. No subway connection which would be nice to see in the future.

Yelp
The AA counter to check bags was a mess! I arrived at 7:15pm and entered into the plane around 9:45pm - plane was suppose to leave at 10pm. This is the most unpleasant departure I have had from this airport. I'm right now exhausted and sweety. It's a total physical abuse by the airline. Long story short. You are forced to get a boarding pass in an automated machine to check bags. But this is where things get interesting. You have to type everything. I was in line just for that almost 40 mins waiting. This was so inefficient that the lady right in front of me had to enter 3 times the info of her party of 4: full names, passports, etc. A mess - and nobody of the AA cared to hear a complaint!

Yelp
Be careful on your way out for unscrupulous 'drivers'. Our prearranged tour guide was a little late; as a result, we were bombarded by obsequious characters volunteering to help -- aka, pretending to call our tour-guide, actually calling a friend-in-cahoots who pretended to be said tour operator, lying through their teeth to state they would not be coming (3 hours delayed). Total horsesh*t -- don't acknowledge unsolicited characters.... wait for legitimate transportation, or go through official channels.

Yelp
This airport is being reviewed with only two check ins so far. So it will take a few more times here to write an in depth review. But from both of my times here (first time was very short on the domestic side and the second one was on the international side longer time spent). The layout of the airport is a little bit weird, and by weird I mean different. There are long corridors with shops on both sides, that makes it feel like shopping in the subway area in Seoul hahaha. The gates are to the back of the shops so you will have to find a hall in between the shops to get there. There is a Victoria secret store at the airport.. I found this to be an interesting choice of retail store for an airport. A lot of the stores seems brand new or maybe they were just very well kept. I didn't have the opportunity to go to the restaurants nor food court area, so hopefully in my next visit I will have time to visit them and update my review.

Yelp
A little hectic, but overall not that bad. They could use a little more English directions to help people like me out, but I managed. Tons of shops after you pass security. I just wish they had more authentic Chilean places to eat.

Yelp
Pretty nice and clean airport. We were surprised at the size and how empty it was when we arrived. I do have to complain though about the hecklers - we were immediately swarmed by guys offering "cheap rides" into the city. One guy was fairly aggressive and followed us after we had said no repeatedly. We did the math of the "great price" he was pushing for his taxi company - less than $5 USD to get to the center city from the airport, cheaper than the bus! Yeah right, there is no WAY a taxi would charge that little to travel that far, and we have heard that the taxis are a big scam. The guy got pissy when we withdrew from the ATM and beelined it for the bus. If you are an obvious tourist try to push past and ignore the people trying to push taxis on you and go straight for the buses. They line up just outside the main airport exit and it is easy to understand where to go. It is about a 25-30 minute ride. I agree with a previous reviewer that a subway connection would be easier, although it was interesting to see the outskirts of Santiago from inside the bus.
