"Arvon creates bold New England-style IPAs and heavily fruited sour beers such as Jurassic Haze, Harbor Beach, Citra Drops, and De Tour Reef, targeting craft beer enthusiasts. The company moved to Grand Rapids in 2020 from Grandville, Michigan; until then distribution was limited to specialty stores in metro Detroit." - Monica Williams

Arvin Brewing – A Must-Visit Brewey in the GRap Arvin Brewing is an absolute treasure for beer enthusiasts in Grand Rapids. From the moment you step in, you’ll notice the impeccable service—friendly and knowledgeable servers who never miss a beat and ensure your glass is always perfectly filled. They truly elevate the experience and make every visit feel special. Now, let’s talk beer. Arvin Brewing delivers an extraordinary lineup, with something for every palate. The kettle sours are vibrant and packed with flavor, a real treat for sour fans. If you’re lucky enough to visit when they’re offering their bourbon barrel-aged beers, don’t hesitate—these are complex, rich, and worth every sip. But the true standouts are the New England IPAs, which are nothing short of perfection. These hazy delights are bursting with juicy, tropical notes and have a soft, pillowy finish that keeps you coming back for more. In the summer, the experience is taken up a notch with their food truck and outdoor bench seating. Enjoying a cold beer in the sun while savoring some delicious bites is about as good as it gets. While the outdoor space is fantastic, the indoor seating is less inviting. The interior could use some love, but the view of the brewing tanks offers a nice glimpse into the artistry behind the beer. If you’re in Grand Rapids, Arvin Brewing is an absolute must-visit. The beer is second to none, the service is exceptional, and the summer vibes are unbeatable. Just grab a seat outside and enjoy the magic they’re brewing up!

Google
GREAT BEER The beer was excellent. The husbands LOVED the beers. The atmosphere here is so comfortable. I could hang out here all day. Nice place. Great space to have a team building or friends trip. Open, bright and comfortable

Google
Producing some of the very best craft beers in the Midwest. Go for the beer, note the atmosphere is sparse and food is not served. Blue Wing, Creative Flow (Dbl rye NE style IPA) and Dark Rage (stout). And, snowdrift hazy IPA - each a 5/5 for me.

Google
Arvon’s is a great place bring your own food and snacks and games and hang out all day drinking delicious beer. They have a few snacks for sale and occasionally a food truck outside. There is also a Domino’s across the street for emergency foods need. They have a great selection of beers and you can even get half pours so you could try them all! Their kettle sour beers are fantastic and almost taste like fruit smoothies, they are an absolutely must have.

Google
Really nice selection of beers and all were done well. Space was clean. The kettle sours are exceptional. Tried a couple of their big ABV stouts as well and those were great as well:

Google
Awesome little brewery with excellent hazy ipas and sours. My go to is a hazy ipa and my wife’s go to is a sour so this is as close to perfection as it gets for us. Staff was very friendly and the atmosphere is excellent. A must stop for any craft beer enthusiast.

Google
Pretty good place. IPAs were good but it’s easy to make a good IPA. Bartender guy was not welcoming. The lady working was a sweetheart. Kinda cold and sterile inside with its industrial vibe. We like a cozy vibe better. This place was good but not special for us.

Lindsey Barlow

Google
This is a really cool little brewery. Parker was our very friendly spirit guide and gave us lots of info about the brewery and beers while we sat at the bar. The kettle sours we tried were very fruity and sweet (lots o fresh fruit flavor), and had no artificial off flavors. I think they’d be good for folks who like sweeter/fruity drinks. IPAs are solid and super fresh. The barleywine was more like an imperial stout to me but still very tasty. Would totally return and try the rest of the lineup!

Abhilash T.

Yelp
Phenomenal atmosphere, even better brews! The sours here are outstanding. I wish I had taken a picture of the beer list so I could remember the names. I also had a barrel aged beer which I think was named Owl. The folks were nice, and made good recommendations and the people I was with all enjoyed what they were drinking. If you're in the area, it's worth checking out.

Yelp
Great beer tonight but bad and rude service both times we were there, which is too bad as they have a lot of great workers but one who just seems to not like to be around people or talk to customers/answer questions. Unpleasant experience ordering both times.

Yelp
We planned a day in Grand Rapids to try out some of their breweries and Arvon was our first stop. Little did we know that it was going to be the best beer of the trip! My group of 5 has super varied tastes (non beer drinkers, super basic beer preferences, beer aficionado) and we all thought their two draft fruited sour beers (Island Life and Chocolate Dip) were a 10/10. They were a thicker, almost smoothie-like consistency and you could taste all the fruits listed in the notes (we all know these are sometimes hard to detect)! I think we left with at least one of every single sour variety they offered by can, no joke. The bartender told us they had the best beer in Grand Rapids and I believe her!

Angie G.

Yelp
Solid beers. Had a good hazy ipa and a west coast ipa. Bought cans to go. Have snacks, juice, and soda for kids which is nice. Recommend coming here if you like good beer.

Yelp
We love Arvon beer! I've heard they have a food truck, but we haven't been there during those hours. They do their best to be kid friendly without a full food menu. Pretzels, popcorn, and juice!

Evan S.

Yelp
I've been meaning to make it out to Arvon for a long time, and finally was able to make it out. I'm a big fan of fruited sours and Arvon did not disappoint. My wife and I have been to close to 200 breweries, and Arvon is hands down my new favorite. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
This place is wonderful! Great atmosphere and amazing staff! Had the Campground Shenanigans was so good! Bold flavor and even bolder ABV! They are very strict on reservations and distance which is great. Parker O. Was more than accommodating. He was super informative about the different beers and helpful with choosing a great next beer. I will definitely come back!

A K.

Yelp
Amazing sours. Great staff and crowd! This is a new favorite! We will be back! Adorable location.

Jennifer T.

Yelp
Times are tough but these guys are making some great beer. Nothing to do but drive these days so we made the trip out. Great curbside, very friendly people, excellent service. Looking forward to the day I can come back for an person visit and to do a better review. Can't wait to get home and try these.

Alyssa G.

Yelp
My boyfriend and I came here to try some of the sours I've seen on their Instagram page. We each got the Banana Watch and agreed it was one of the best sours we've had! It's not too tart, but it's also got a thicker, almost smoothie like consistency. So, be prepared for a different texture. My bf and I both love it! The place is very open and clean and they have a great outdoor seating area with occasional food trucks. I didn't need to make any reservations (as of 8/12/21) and the bartenders were nice. It is a little pricey--$30 for 4 drinks--but it's also a nano brewery and has a limited supply of everything. So, pros and cons, just be aware it's a little pricier than other breweries. Their beers truly are fantastic though!

Yelp
My friend & I walked in & sat at the bar. My friend said hi as the female bartender slid the list in front. She did not reply. The male bar (Dillon) tender gave us water AND greeted us. He was super friendly & made a suggestion. My friend said while I was in the restroom, the same woman was washing dishes in front of us but only asked the couple to her right, our left 'are you ok/do you need anything else?' She said not a word to us, I thought it was because we were on Dillon's side, but from what I was told, that was not the case.

Yelp
Always have great beers on tap! There's something for everyone here. Haven't tried a bad beer from here yet!!!

Yelp
I made a reservation online to check out Arvon Brewing Co and I'm so glad I did! I'm not much of a beer drinker anymore these days, but I do love a good sour and they have plenty of options there. They also have a few different NE IPAs, so if you like those types of beer, definitely add Arvon to your list. Currently during COVID times, reservations are required and are for 1 hour at a time. If you need more than 1 hour, just make back to back reservations on their website. The taproom is really nice with tons of natural light and lofty airy high ceilings. We sat in some very comfortable cute chairs (so comfy and cute that I asked where they came from) with two small tree stump-esque tables. The staff we interacted with were all super friendly, helpful, and polite. Samples were offered but I knew I wanted to try at least most of the sour beers. The peach sour was definitely my favorite and the seltzer I tried was my least favorite. The peach sour was exactly what I wanted - big peach flavor and a bit tart. The NE IPAs I sipped were also refreshing and tasty! The tree stump tables turned out to be a bit too small so we were juggling lots of glasses but it wasn't a big deal. We managed to get some delicious food from a food truck that was parked outside, so be sure to check their Facebook page for updates on that. During COVID times, a reservation is required, and masks are required when not seated. I'm so looking forward to trying more of Arvon's beers, especially the sours!

Yelp
What a find! Arvon Brewing is a first class establishment that is making the best out of this dumpster fire that is 2020. Their taproom is clean and decorated with modern simplicity that manages to feel inviting and spacious. Currently they are accepting reservations at their many seating arrangements to allow for socially distancing. Walk ins can get seated if there's room but I would suggest a reservation. But how is the beer you ask? It's.freaking.fabulous! They are best known for their IPAs and for good reason. Flavorful and well balanced their tap list changes frequently so you are assured a fresh pour. I was also a big fan of their Rice Krispy rice lager and their imperial stout was perfect for a chilly fall day. They offer full or 1/2 pours which is great for the indecisive. No flights but they will offer you tastes of whatever you want to try. They don't offer food but host food trucks in their parking lot, check their website or fb page for details. Their biggest handicap (aside from the pandemic) is location. South Division isn't always the best neighborhood but I strongly urge you to give it a chance. It's worth a visit or 10.

Christine T.

Yelp
Beers are really outstanding. I enjoyed them all. They can their beers too. service was good

Erica D.

Yelp
Our favorite stop on our trip to GR! It is pretty separate from the downtown area so we drove after hiking Millennium Park and were glad we did. The space is very clean, well spaced and modern. The beer is so clean and crisp, my husband and I each had a couple half pours and left wanting more! Catching Rays and White Shoal were a couple of my favorites we tried. They don't serve food or we probably would have stayed longer. Sounds like they usually have a food truck but COVID impacted the one they normally would have.

Margo M.

Yelp
Arvon is a nice! High ceilings and open, clean space. Their menu is mostly IPA's and Sours. They're unique and delicious. I think everyone should give it a try! The downside is that there isn't a whole lot of room.. seating can fill up quick and that there isn't any food available. Maybe take some snacks with you!

Mindy H.

Yelp
Thanks to Untapped for recommending Arvon Brewing. This spot tied for first place in our beer Grand Rapids tasting weekend. This spot has amazing IPA's. That is their speciality and they shine. This is a tap room nano brewery experience. They don't have tasting flights so my husband and I shared some half pours. The staff were very knowledgeable and friendly. They let us try several other menu items. There was nothing here that wasn't good. I can see why Untapped mentioned this as a #1 top rated brewery for the area. Amazing!

Chad C.

Yelp
A buddy and I met up here on the Saturday of their opening weekend, thinking it'd be a little less busy since it was during Winter Beer Fest. However, it turns out that we were not alone in that thought process and the place was packed. Thankfully I like to make fashionably late appearances, so my friend -- who got their half an hour before me -- was able to snag a table just before I arrived. They have an order-at-the-counter scenario going on, so my friend texted me to get in line and buy us both a beer so we didn't lose our table. The space is nice -- has a modern, almost minimalist aesthetic with big windows separating the tap room from the brewhouse. It looks like they are still in the process of getting their new equipment set up, but everything looks nice and shiny. The tap room has the aforementioned bar where there only seemed to be one point of sales and two hardworking guys taking orders and pouring drinks. While this might be sufficient most days, it made for slow going when the line got long. Seating is primarily a row of communal picnic tables, a small lounge area with a few comfier chairs, and a couple high-top tables near the windows to the brewhouse. Again, this will probably be sufficient in a couple weeks when things settle down, but made it a little awkward when we were there since people were standing around in groups waiting to swoop in for tables. The beers were all excellent. My friend didn't realize that all the IPAs were of the hazy variety so was a little disappointed with his first beer, but after sticking with the Pilsner and imperial stout, he was a happy camper. I loved all the IPAa I tried; especially the triple. As someone who works in a brewery, I've tasted a hop pellet straight up. My burp following that beer tasted like I had just eaten a hop pellet, in the best way possible! All in all, it's a great spot and will probably be more comfortable and enjoyable once the (well deserved) crowds die down and seating and parking become a little easier to procure.

Yelp
I vote 4.5. Creamy yummy lactose fruity dessert deliciousness in an old garage of sort sort. I wish I had a house this cool, too.

Brittney L.

Yelp
Arvon has some of the best beers in Grand Rapids! The staff is amazing! Great place to play cards!

Judd R.

Yelp
A few of my friends recommended Arvon. This is the best beer in Grand Rapids hands down! Their hazy IPAs and sours are amazing! My favorite brewery in Grand Rapids!

Ryan I.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this place following a Google search for breweries in Grand Rapids. Holy crap what a find! Venue is nice and clean, and the bartenders were great. They even helped us find some food elsewhere for the evening too. Started with a couple of the IPAs, which were a strong start. The sours are the true stars at Arvon that we came back a second night. Will undoubtedly stop by if I'm back in Grand Rapids.

Chris B.

Yelp
Some of the best sours and NEIPAs you'll ever find. I'm not normally a fan of sours because of how tart they can be, but the sour beers here have amazing flavor. If you're looking for something different, and wonderful, this is your place. Friendly staff. Plenty of seating inside and outside. No food either time I've been there, but Dominos across the street was good and you can bring it right in. This place is quickly becoming one of my favorite breweries.

Dani B.

Yelp
Arvon is so consistently great at making beer. No matter the style, the beer is full of flavor. I love that they brew in small batches, so there is something new and usually wonderful on tap, whenever we visit. Then, you savor it, and buy a 4 pack, because it will disappear soon. But no worries, it will be replaced with something even better!

Eric D.

Yelp
Arvon has been brewing beer for a couple of years now. This newly opened taproom is well done. More importantly the beer is great. Their main stay varieties of NEIPAs are all very good. They also offer a Pilsner and a couple of sours that are solid. They just released a Russian imperial stout' Darkness Overload, that is very good. Their Untappd average rating is currently 4.08. They say the will have food trucks on the weekends. If you like beer, a stop here will not disappoint.

Dani D.

Yelp
Everything they make is awesome. We went for the Hazy, which was the hook, and now can't stop going back to try their last kettle sours, or hoping they'll have something barrel aged, because everything they do is amazing. Batches are fairly small, so there is always something new and consistently good. Flavors are intense!

David D.

Yelp
Some of the best fruited sours out right now in Michigan. I've been liking over homes and ascension lately. So tasty!

Gail M.

Yelp
We stopped here last week and can't wait to go back! Their sours are the best! If you're not a beer drinker, you definitely have to try these. I had the raspberry and felt like I was drinking a popsicle!

Donna J.

Yelp
My kids in Grand Rapids love this place. I got them a gift card for their anniversary and they were thrilled.

Chris W.

Yelp
Absolutely love their beer! It's a great idea to partner with the food trucks when they were able to be fully open. Looking forward to many more trips to the tap room once Covid-19 starts to clear up. For now I will just have to settle for growlers and other beers to go.

Katina K.

Yelp
Great beers! One if the best NEIPA beers. Service not so good unless you are from out of state. Next time we will get beers and go instead of enjoying it there.

Mason B.

Yelp
The beer is so good. So so good. I have been here a few times and the location is a little iffy- we have been approached (not in a friendly manner whatsoever) by unwanted guests (not customers) while sitting outside but it has not stopped us from continuing to come back- just something to be aware of. I usually have had spectacular service and leave with no complaints and always recommend to others to go check this place out. However, the last time I went I had extremely poor customer service. We were sat at a table that was facing a window and you could only sit at one side of the table. So with four people that is kind of an awkward set up and it's hard to catch up with everyone. The sun was also setting at the time and shining right into our eyes through the window. We were there a little over an hour and a half and we asked to move tables 3 separate times- there was always 4-5 empty tables and we were constantly told that they were reserved and that we specifically reserved the table we had- which was not true. You do not reserve specific tables on their website. The server was extremely condescending to us the entire time. If I hadn't had good service in the past- I definitely wouldn't be coming back but because that was hopefully a one time fluke- I will come back and continue to support because their beer is amazing.
