A truly memorable dining experience worth coming back for. Parking can be a bit challenging because the area gets very busy, so reservations are highly recommended. Inside, the atmosphere feels refined yet welcoming, and every staff member we interacted with was genuinely friendly and attentive. We started with the Classic Caesar, and the freshness of the lettuce was outstanding. The subtle hint of anchovy added a beautiful depth of flavor. The Carbonara was another highlight — the crispy pancetta and generous shaving of Parmigiano Reggiano were a perfect match. It’s a simple, classic dish, but they execute it with a level of skill that’s not easy to replicate. The Bone-in Pork Milanese was exceptional. The pork was incredibly tender, and the coating was thin and perfectly crisp, creating a wonderful contrast in texture. ASA is absolutely a place I want to revisit, and I can’t wait to try more dishes on their menu. Highly recommend!

We had the most magical evening dining at Asa Restaurant. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a lovely service team that made us feel right at home. The dining experience was impressively tasteful, with each detail thoughtfully curated to enhance our evening. At times, out of respect for our newly met friends, I refrained from taking out my phone to snap photos of the food, which is something I usually do. However, when the second course arrived, I couldn’t resist capturing the delightful meals we were enjoying. We even wondered aloud if Asa might be a Michelin-starred restaurant that we hadn’t heard of, given the exceptional quality of the dishes. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the truffle mushroom slice (though I couldn’t recall the exact description and unfortunately didn’t get a photo). It was incredibly fresh and bursting with umami flavor. For my main course, I opted for the sustainable tuna, which I requested to be cooked well-done. It was prepared just the way I like it—flaky and flavorful. I typically don’t enjoy dishes that are overly sauced, as some meals simply don’t pair well with their accompaniments. However, Asa’s head chef and the team managed to present everything beautifully, with flavors that danced harmoniously on the plate. Another standout dish was the double-cut pork chop, which was nothing short of insane! It was juicy, tender, and seasoned to perfection. Now, whenever we crave a delectable pork chop, Asa in Los Gatos will be our go-to destination. 🍷🍷🍷 Overall, our experience was nothing short of extraordinary, and we can’t wait to return! 👍😋😊

Service was impeccable, food was amazing as well as drinks. Our server Yamila stood out, she was knowledgeable, punctual, sweet and honest. Gave great opinions, and choices/recommended. Prices are a little bit up there, but if the service is delivered with such exceptional food, it is worth it.

Inside split into bar area and dining room and a covered outdoor patio as well. - Menu: little bit of everything and part Spanish, part French, part Italian which I appreciate doesn't follow the standard mold of the same items many restaurants have - Mushroom pasta: signature dish with rigatoni type tubes coated in a delectable silky sauce reminiscent of Marsala or cognac. Only con is the price at $38 seems steep. 4.25 stars - Delica squash: fresh squash with a delightful cashew puree and brown butter pomegranate sauce elements. Beautifully plated stacked. One of the surprise stars of the night. 4.25 stars - Shrimp: great size of shrimp and amount (6), perfect cook, but surprisingly needed more flavor in the seasoning and sauce. 3.75 stars Midlights: - No champagne by the glass Lowlights: - Crab pasta special: spaghetti with small bits of shredded crab in a tomato sauce overwhelmed it. I was so excited to see this being crab season here, but was disappointed. 2.5 stars - Random location: in a Best Western parking lot across the freeway in a remote area not in downtown. We have a few drink spots we like to hit up downtown before we go to dinner that are walkable so this isn't optimal. Enjoyed my night here and would like to try a few more food items to see how those are.

The service was first-class. This Christmas, it brought us a wonderful sense of warmth, and the food was exceptional. Highly recommended.

Drinks and main courses were great. Blood orange cosmo was yummm! Halibut and scallops were made to perfection. The appetizer and salads we tried were not so special. The anchovies on baguette were salty and too creamy. The salad had too much dressing Parking is shared with the hotel and can be challenging on popular weekends.

Loved the food. Everything was delicious!!! Even as a vegetarian, I found plenty of great options. The staff was wonderful and the service was excellent. I usually hate tipping, but this time every penny felt worth it. Glad we picked this restaurant for our anniversary dinner

ASA is a Michelin guide recommended restaurant with cozy romantic vibes throughout. Food was delicious and they were able to accommodate dietary restrictions such as pescatarian, alcohol free and gluten free. Highly recommend their scallops and seafood dishes as that is what I ordered whereas the rest of the table enjoyed their meat dishes.

Loved our dining experience here! The waitresses were very friendly and helped steer us towards the most recommended drinks and dishes towards our taste preferences. I loved my guava tequila drink that had the perfect amount of spice, with subtle hints of jalapeño. We started with the stacked beet salad and it was a hit. The citrusy apple really complimented well with the beets. The truffle fries and ketchup were also delicious and a great start to get us excited about the other dishes. The ketchup being homemade made a huge difference in the taste. The garlic shrimp was heavenly. We had to get a baguette to soak up every last bit of the sauce. ;) The mushroom pasta had equally delicious flavor and sauce that we also dipped the bread in. The beef was so soft and tender. I'm not usually a fan of this dish, but the sauce was above par at ASA. The ham coquettes were something special. These were just as good as the ones I had in Spain last year; a real treat! Compliments to the chef to pull them off. And last, but not least we finished the celebratory dinner with the banana bread pudding! Well worth the 20 minute wait! It was perfectly caramelized and was a huge portion for the 3 of us to split. They even brought out ice cream as a complimentary birthday treat. Thank you ASA for a wonderful meal!

An average culinary experience with below average service. Parking - not great. The restaurant has a few spots in front but otherwise you'll have to find street parking on the side. Service - slow, felt like everyone had read the menu 4 times over before our waiter acknowledged our existence. Our waitress put a damper on the experience with her curt attitude and general indifference. The person who refilled our water was very nice though and checked on us constantly. Food: Anchovy bread 5/5: ignoring that you are paying $16 for 4 tiny slivers of fish on top of little bread, the flavor was quite good and we enjoyed this Rainbow beet salad 2/5: Maybe I'm just not a beet fan. Very vibrant and colorful dish though (good for pictures) Argentine steak 5/5: really good flavor, probably the favorite dish of the night. came with some well seasoned fries Seared albacore tuna 3.5/5: tasted like what you would expect seared tuna to taste like, not good not bad, I enjoyed the rice and watercress pairing Exotic mushroom pasta 3.5/5: good flavors but eventually is a bit much and there's nothing else to kind of offset the flavors since it's just pasta and mushrooms. Maybe some more of the shaved cheese would have helped Overall just an average experience that didn't feel worth the $ spent

Excellent food, service and ambience at ASA. Our server was really good and explained all the specials and even suggested a Smokey cocktail I wanted. The food was excellent and fish I ordered was really fresh as well. The desserts were delicious and overall a great dinning experience. While their location in Los Altos is really nice. This sister restaurant is quaint.

今天兒子跟朋友去吃飯，說餐廳的老闆娘一直看著他，看很久，後來他發現是我們舌尖上的網友，知道他是我兒子～還問他說你不是胃口很好都吃很多嗎？東西要吃完，，快笑死我了，雖然不知道是哪位網友，但還是謝謝網友的關注！ 整個聖誕假期，我也是到處趴趴走 ，先去北加，又去鳳凰城的， 明天就要上班了，真的該收收心，在我妹家附近選了個餐廳，帶小孩去吃， 可能不是在 三藩市，在比較鄉下一點的地方，我覺得價格跟 LA 沒有相差多少，反正我是上網隨便找一家看的上眼的，問我妹妹等於白問，她都在家吃飯，完全沒法給任何建議，那附近有兩家， 每道表現不差， 一上來的前菜， 蝦子跟 排骨我們一下子就吃完了， 倒是後來的主菜，我只吃一些就叫兒子努力了，本來要進城去拍些照片，想到看到的一堆可怕的報導， 我錢包都沒帶，首飾也拔了下來， 女兒說，車上不放任何東西，窗戶搖下來就好了（這是什麼世界呀）結果拖太晚，只照了金門大橋， 就跑來吃晚餐了，真的是自己嚇自己！最後祝大家新年快樂呀！

Went there to celebrate our 66th anniversary. Tried to eat the whole menu. Couldn't do it, will be back soon to finish. Couldn't have had a better time. Service was perfect. And the owner treated us like royalty. Beautiful relaxing setting and not noisy!

We came here a few months back to have dinner with a family friend and although I had never dined at ASA, I had heard good words about their New American cuisine. First off, parking is not a pleasure as they share a parking lot with a motel, and if you look for street parking, you are either quickly encroaching on apartment residential spaces or you're trying your luck across the street, which ended up working out for me. After we were seated at an outside patio table, I took notice of the classy dark motif throughout the restaurant. Our group shared a few small plates(Truffle Fries, Halibut Cocktail and their Burrata) and for my main, I went with the Papa Pork Chop. The standouts for me were the Truffle Fries and my main entree. The Pork Chop was comically thick(see photos) and yet juicy, and tender. My friend and I shared more than a few of their barrel aged cocktails and they too were tasty and satisfying. Our waitress was sweet and delivered fantastic service. I would be happy to come back sometime in the future.

I came here Thursday night with 2 co workers. It is a great place esp if you sit outside. Parking can be tricky and you may have to park on the street. But it seems there is usually parking at night. Service was great! What I like is that there are healthy options here. I started out with Asparagus and ordered the Spring Citrus chicken. This came with green beans on the side. But for those who like "true" meat I hear the Argentine Steak is amazing. Our server was very attentive. I would recommend this place for any small group of friends to chill and eat.

We opted for ASA on New Year's Eve, impressed by impeccable service from start to finish. While the extensive menu offered a variety, the food, unfortunately, didn't reach stellar heights but tasty nonetheless. Despite the generous portions, my usual favorite at any restaurant, truffle fries, fell short, lacking the expected truffle seasoning. The pork chop, on the other hand, was colossal, providing leftovers for two meals. ASA's cozy ambience remains a favorite for gatherings with friends, date nights, or family outings. And the cocktails are delicious!

Our qtrly girls day out. Once we hit up a couple of wineries in the area, it was time to get our grub on. We had reservations at 5:45 but they were kind enough to take us earlier. Parking is pretty bad, but once we got into the restaurant, all was well. The place had a nice vibe. Drinks were great, and there were plenty of specialty drinks to choose from. Now, let's talk about the food. So delicious, the right temperature cooked to perfection. And that rum cake, omg, so good. I have no complaints. Our server was amazing she gave great recommendations. I will return for sure.

Perfect date night restaurant in the Los Gatos area. Parking is super tight and they suggest that you use shared ride services. We got there a little early and decided to get some cocktails while waiting for our table. Food and drink were perfectly perfect. Service was great from the very beginning to the end of the meal. Pricing is reasonable as you are paying for the ambiance, good service and the quality of the food and drinks. Would definitely come back!

Reservation for 6 for our monthly dinner gathering. We were greeted and seated right away. The place is nicely decorated, quaint and cozy, with dim lighting. Although the indoor is not too big you still have plenty of space and privacy between tables. Outdoor and bar area were both spacious. The staff were all friendly and attentive, especially our waitress, Sarah, she was great! But the service is slow and the bar was even slower. We were looking for something outside of the "usual" restaurants we visit for date night. I did a search for Michelin restaurants in the South Bay and I was surprised to see ASA on the list. I had been there before with girlfriends but it was during Covid so we dined in the tent in parking lot so we did not get the whole experience. The location is surprising, it is in the parking lot next to a Best Western. The only reservations they had were at a high table in the bar area but we really like our seat as we had a nice view of the bar. I enjoyed the ambience of eating indoors much more, and this made a good date night place. We started with pre dinner cocktails: Cold Brew Martini - They make their expresso martini with cold brew, the coffee taste was strong and this was delicious. Lavender Spritz - Refreshing and delicious, perfect pre dinner drink. For dinner we had: Halibut Cocktail - This was our favorite dish of the meal. It is a ceviche and it is so tasty and prepared perfectly. I could have two of these for an entree! Pork Ribs - These were good and the meat fell right off the bone but nothing too outstanding. Roasted duck breast with leg confit. I love duck and I was very excited to order this. The portion is quite large but the leg did not seem to be prepared in the true confit style. It was not crispy or as full of flavor as I would have liked. I enjoyed the dish but it did not live up to my expectations. My BF had the New York Steak and it was slightly overcooked (he requested medium rare) but still very good. For dessert, had the banana bread pudding was was amazing! The service was very good, the host was friendly and the server was knowledgeable and offered good recommendations. The net net, it has a nice ambience, very good food and good service. To be honest, I didn't feel I had that special experience that you expect at Michelin star restaurant but I would give it another try. For that reason I give it four stars but It lacks that special something for 5 stars.

We had a reservation for 6 inside the restaurant and everything was perfect! Beautiful ambiance, decor, and attentive wait staff! We ordered shrimp paella, New York steak, brussel sprouts, grilled trout, spaghetti, mushroom pasta, asa salad. Ask for the homemade chili sauce! It went perfectly with the paella. The salted caramel ice cream was also hand made by someone there! They have a huge wine selection as well. Will be going back!

Came here for my first time this past June for dinner with some good friends on a nice Saturday evening in Los Gatos. We had reservations and were seated on their patio. First of all, parking is shared with a motel(Best Western) and on this night,there were no parking spots to be found so we had to park across the street, which is a small hike. Our group shared the Halibut Cocktail, Burrata, Truffle Fries and I had the Papa Pork Chop as my Main. Everything was tasty and fresh. The Pork Chop was a thick cut and although I don't eat that much pork, this was a juicy entree. A few of us shared their Apricot Crumble and a side of their seasonal ice cream, which were both nice as well. Our waitress was quick and polite. Overall, this is a well established local restaurant with a few other locations in the Bay Area. I would likely come back again to try more of their menu out.

This restaurant has a lovely ambiance, both inside and outside. Indoors, lighting is low and rum barrels and wine storage provide tasteful decor. I came for a dinner for a party of four. Our waiter was very friendly. To drink, I had the picante paloma. It tasted watery and didn't have much flavor. Even the chili rim was quite subtle. For an appetizer, we shared the roasted cauliflower. It was savory. The cauliflower were very tender and nicely complemented by the polenta. We also got the truffle fries which were crispy and flavorful. For my main, I got the garden entree. The turmeric risotto was delicious. Super rich and buttery. The creamy lemon sauce elevated the dish nicely. The trumpet mushrooms were also amazing. They had a smoky taste and the texture subtly resembled bacon. For dessert, I enjoyed the lemon lavender cake which was light and fruity.

We had a really good time when we visited Asa in Los altos last year and wanted to try it out again for my partner's birthday . This time we decided to go to Los Gatos branch and it felt like the interiors are much nice and more upscale. Food menu was kind of the same. I really wanted to try the vegetarian paella but looks like they got rid of it from the menu . But the chef was kind enough to accommodate my request and they made a vegetarian paella for me with mushrooms and olives . The dish was amazing! I would came again just to eat this . My husband ordered some halibut based dish and he enjoyed that too , though he liked my dish more. We also ordered some drinks and Spanish potatoes as appetizer. Got the pecan rum cake for dessert - this is another must try. Enjoyed my chai infused Manhattan , a unique twist to a traditional cocktail . Will most definitely be coming here again, even though they have just 2 vegetarian options in main course ( unless you want to eat salad) . Service was top notch .

My hubby & I went to ASA last weekend for an early Valentine's day dinner with high expectations, knowing that it is a Michelin star restaurant. Every dish that we ordered was really good & cooked perfectly! For starters, we ordered garlic shrimp & house burrata. For our mains, I enjoyed my Argentine steak served with fries (although I'm not a fan of fries & wished there's other sides options available), and hubby loved his Bone-in Pork Chop with a side of apple chutney & yukon potatoes. Finished off with a chocolate molten cake, so delicious if you're a chocolate lover. Service is very good and attentive, but I Had to deduct 1 star for the tables being too close to each other that you can literally hear what everyone next to you is talking about. I'll definitely be back to try out their other dishes, but maybe not for a date night.

Came here with a friend and the place didn't disappoint. It's darkly lit and very easy to the eyes. The ambiance and decor were all great. We had one drink and it was too sweet. The server was so great that she just took it back. We had our own wine but their wine selection looked really good. Food was great. No complaints at all. Would come back. Our server was so good we even told the manager afterwards.

Everything is delicious, the restaurant is beautiful, and the service is good but slow. Parking is weird as it shares the lot with a best western. The inside is small, classy and the bar is loaded. Service was very attentive and knowledgeable but a tad slow because of a staff shortage. Cocktails were great. The food was fantastic. Got the shrimp appetizer and it was delicious. Get the bread so you don't waste any sauce on the plate. Got the argentine steak and it was delicious. The fries are perfect for this dish. We then got a few desserts and the chunky monkey was the best but there all very good. Four stars because for the price, having to wait longer than usual is not ideal.

What a phenomenal meal. Jose was the perfect server as his patience, knowledge of the menu and timing were just a few of the highlights of his service with our group. We were in California visiting family and Asa was selected as it has been a favorite of my brother and his wife. I was thrilled to see the Duck on the menu. Too many restaurants serve only the breast if they offer it all. This plate included the breast and confit. Wow. What a meal. It was prepared perfectly. Two of the people in the group chose the Paella and it was presented so nicely. All of the servings were well received as were the pre dinner cocktails which were inventive and extremely tasty. We were fortunate to meet the owner, Andrew, during our meal, and it was a treat to chat with him. He definitely has a winner in Asa.

Excellent place tuck inside a motel, but in Los Gatos so expect to high end dining even here! They had good jam on ibérico and I also had the trout, which was very fresh! Good service and cocktail as well!

Great meal. Servings were generous, flavorful and unique. Service was attentive but not smothering. Desserts were excellent. No express machine, but they do offer French press coffee. One press serves 2 people. We'll definitely be back,

This is a solid place - though it didn't wow me. The duck was good - not something I'd go back for - similar to most I've had. But the servers are lovely and attentive. The appetizers are just ok.

In sum: Gorgeous yet unpretentious. From food to service to venue & ambiance, a wonderful experience throughout. Highly recommend, especially for upscale group events where it's important that everything flow smoothly. The details: We were here as a group of about 23 for my friend's birthday dinner (she booked the reservation). We had a large table in the middle of the restaurant, near the bar, which was not a private room per se but felt semi-private since we had the whole area to ourselves. The timing/organization were perfect: started with drinks (served bottles of wine + handcrafted cocktails) and pre-selected appetizers for the table. Then servers took each person's salad & entrée order, listed on a beautiful mini-menu. After the main meal, 3 types of desserts were served. Drinks flowed freely the whole time, servers were friendly and attentive and food came out efficiently. We never felt rushed, even though we were there long after their posted closing time. The food was impeccable. Some standouts were: Apps: pork rib bites, halibut "cocktail" cup, house made burrata Salad: Asa greens w/ tarragon vinaigrette Entrees: exotic mushroom pasta, Argentine steak Desserts: banana bread pudding, molten chocolate bomb The cocktails were beautiful and delicious- had everyone raving with their lovely presentation. Those of us drinking wine were happily topped off, frequently, with amazing white and red offerings. Shoutout to all the servers and the female owner (sorry I didn't catch her name) who was with us throughout the night, making sure we had all the drinks we wanted (and none that we didn't, aka not overselling) and that everything flowed smoothly. They even helped us take a group picture which is not easy with 23 somewhat-inebriated individuals! Just an amazing experience overall which is tough to come by for large-groups in intimate-feeling restaurants. Highly recommend and hope to come back next time I'm in the area!

Asa is a high end restaurant in a high end neighborhood and it lives up to this high standard. I ordered a somewhat exotic cocktail (a Last Word (green) cocktail, look it up!) and our super professional waiter was aware of it and delivered it with confidence along with a couple other fancy drinks. Truffle french fries and a soft white Barrata cheese with crispy baguette toast started us down the path of consumption. We then ordered the Argentine steak and mushroom pasta and both were prepared perfectly and were fantastic. We finished with the best carrot cake ever and pedestrian cookies since I AM a pedestrian. There is a nice outside eating area and the inside is elegant and feels of wealth. The wait staff are professionals and are legit. The place is in an odd location, next to a Best Western hotel. Parking is a negative and I am pretty sure I unintentionally parked in a Best Western space along with others. Street parking is available. I consider Asa a place to take special people for special occasions. If you are just hungry, go to a gastropub. Cheers!

Large portions and nicely flavored, but my dish was not at all thoroughly or properly cooked. When I reheated my leftovers and bit into chicken in the coq au vin, it was clearly undercooked and pink. This was super disappointing, especially considering the price point. I also tried the seared tuna appetizer and bruschetta. Both were solid, but I can't say either was remarkable. The ambiance and service were excellent, but I was sorely disappointed by my food.

Friends flew in from Washington and we thought this would be an excellent idea. Made reservations for 7:30 for a party of 7 and we were seated at 8. Since we were all hungry, we put in our order within 15 minutes. We did not get our orders until 9:30. The food was delicious but waiting that long to eat was inexcusable. We will not be coming back to this restaurant!!

We came here for our anniversary dinner on a nice summer night. We sat in the outdoor patio. It has nice lights and the ambience felt nice despite it being in the same parking lot as Best Western hotel. That being said, parking can be hard to find as it's usually hard to find in the lot and you'll have to park on the streets which are also crowded because of the condos nearby. The have a nice menu with seafood appetizers and vegetarian options. We chose the baguette and butter so that we would get too full for the main course. It was warm and butter was nice and salty. They have an extensive drink menu with cocktails, wines and spirits. My husband got a jungle fever and I got a guava daiquiri. I didn't care for the jungle fever. It had mezcal in it. But the guava was really nice and refreshing! For the main course, we both got the Argentinian steak. It came with mashed potatoes which were so creamy and flavorful, steamed spinach which was good and a steak with chimichurri sauce. It was all delicious! For dessert we got a strawberry rhubarb galette with icecream. It was good but nothing out of this world. The service was also great. The waitress and team were super attentive. I would recommend & got back again.

Came here for our monthly friends dinner out. When we first arrived, the service was a little slow. However, it was due to being short staffed. The service was so friendly, it definitely made up for it. We ordered a few drinks. Everyone really enjoyed their drinks. I had ordered fever dream. I did not like it at all. But it was my fault as I did not know it was going to be Smokey. For my meal (petite filet) it was very good and the mashed potatoes and broccoli were the perfect match. They even substituted the potatoes for me. My husband ordered the Argentine steak. I like mine better but his was good too. His French fries were so good. I still probably ate a quarter of them. Everyone else really enjoyed their meals. Desserts. We. So. Good. We had the molten lava cake, banana bread pudding, their special of some sort of banana chocolate alcohol ice cream, and the lemon lavender cake. I would for sure come back just for the desserts.

Did I choose the wrong items on the menu, or is the food here all bad. CLASSIC CAESAR, SPANISH POTATOES, CROQUETTES DE JAMÓN IBERICO, special scallop dish, ARRABIATA RAFAELA. None of these items were remarkable or lived up to the exorbitant prices that was charged. The ARRABIATA RAFAELA tasted like spaghetti in cheap tomato sauce cooked with very spicy chili. In fact it was so spicy I couldn't eat it, and I like spicy food. And the Caesar salad was overpowered by what I think was hot mustard. If all you want is ambiance, tasteful decor and a great glass of wine, then this is a great place to come to. The service was very good, but I gave it 1 star because I came for the food and I was very disappointed.

I was looking forward to trying dishes like lamb, duck, liver, scallop, or even the Argentine steak... Not going to lie I was kind of disappointed to see that the menu did not have any of those, but only the generic common dishes that you might see at any other New American restaurants. Check the current menu before you visit. Ended up ordering the caviar, prime rib, and crab pasta. Caviar: exactly what you would expect from ordering Prime rib: dry, sauce resembles ketchup, ordered medium rare but it was overcooked. When we told the waitress/host (didn't know who she was because she asked how everything was but wasn't our server), she proceeded to tell us that in her opinion, the steak looked medium rare. Not the type to go back and forth with restaurant employees so I just said okay :) Crab pasta: highlight of the meal (bar was not set high). Sauce consistency, flavor, level of saltiness, and amount was all good. Noodles were cooked well. Nothing to complain. But also nothing outstandingly special. I would love to give this restaurant another try, but probably won't be a priority for a very long time. Our actual server was friendly and attentive. Ambience is nice and parking was okay despite the lack of and a packed restaurant. I wish I took pictures of the food but here are the screenshots from the videos I recorded.

I wanted to like it so much more than I did. Nothing was bad, it just wasn't great. appetizers - mostly amazing. the garlic prawns were fantastic. my son loved the chilled halibut cocktail cup. we also tried the pork rib bites - very underwhelming. dinner - pork chop is massive! it was prepared well and was very tender. unfortunately the sauce was just meh. i saw several pics of the dish on here and the sauce looked quite different. I'm guessing they've changed it. it's watery and uninteresting. the duck was good. dessert - banana bread pudding was described by my dining companions as being very bland. i tried the strawberry rhubarb galette. it was quite small and almost entirely crust. maybe a tablespoon of filling at best. the filling was good, but it amounted to about a bite, soooo... service was good. patio is nice. the location is a bit odd, but if you sit facing away from the hotel it's ok. all in all, just ok. i'd go back for the shrimp appetizer, but nothing else wow'd me.

Found this place by dumb luck and it was AMAZING. The food is outstanding - we tried a bunch of menu items and they were all fantastic. Highly recommend. The only thing that would have been better is if we were able to eat inside vs. the outdoor heated patio.

Excellent service and ambiance. Had truffle fries for starters. Excellent. Main course was exotic mushroom pasta. I didn't really liked the sauce. I was cooked to perfection though. For dessert, I had dark chocolate sorbet. It was excellent. Very rich compared to other sorbet I've had so far. It was the best part of the meal.

One of my favorites in Los Gatos! The seared ahi dish is incredibly good, and even when it's not on the menu you can usually ask for it. It has a delicious truffle sauce and is always JUST seared and not over cooked. Carbonara and paella are also some of my favorite. The anchovies bread is an absolute must!!

This place had great reviews on Resy so def wanted to check out for Valentines Day! It was a full house when we arrived for our reservation at 8pm. They had outdoor patio seating with lights and music and we were seated next to heaters which was very nice! Ordered the You Had Me At Hello and the Old Fashion to start. My Had Me At Hello drink was so pretty! So many pink flower petals inside! They give u a generous amount and couldn't finish since i was driving. Heard good things about the beet salad and truffle friends so ordered those along with the petit bread and garlic shrimp for starters. The beet salad i did not like :( it had alottt of beets.. the truffle fries and bread were good.. our favorite dish was the garlic shrimp! For main we shared the Mushroom pasta.. it was okay. Maybe bc i was full by then i could only eat a bite and took the rest to go. I ordered the apple pie dessert and that was delicious! There were hits and misses but overall had a nice dining experience.

Pros: - Great menu with very well presented food. My personal favorite was the Roasted Duck Breast w/ Leg Confit. - Asa had a great cocktail menu as well. Their signature old fashioned was delicious! - Great environment with a very contemporary decor with great service (servers were very attentive and friendly) Cons: - Can be a little bit pricey (the $$$ was fair) - Small parking lot that shares with a Best Westerns so can be a bit tricky for big parties - Can get a bit packed so make sure you make a reservation Overall - Solid restaurant with Michelin star potential in the future. Will return again!

My friend and I came here for dinner on a Tuesday evening. We had made reservations prior to the day and were seated soon after arriving. I enjoyed the ambience, and this would make a good date night place. Food/Drinks: Blood Orange Martini - This was refreshing and tasted great. It was a good drink for the meal, and I would order it again. Truffle Fries - The fries were good, but they didn't have a ton of truffle flavor. I love fries though, so I still thought they were great. Rainbow Beet Salad - My friend and I ordered this to share. It was nice of them to split the salad for us into two plates. We both love this salad. It was a great start to our meal. ASA's Exotic Mushroom Pasta - This dish is not vegan, but it is vegetarian. It was pretty good, and I loved the mushrooms in it for sure. The flavor was good, and I enjoyed it. Paella Valencia - My friend ordered this one and was happy with his order. For dessert, we ordered the adult ice cream creation, which was the cherry brandy ice cream at the time. I am not a huge fan of cherries, but I liked the concept of the ice cream. Service: Overall service was friendly and attentive. We were seated right away, and our server came shortly after for our drink order. Our food was timed out well that we weren't waiting too long between our dishes coming out. TL;DR - good ambience, good food, and good service. I would definitely order the pasta again, and give the adult ice cream creation a try again.

Had a very nice dinner here. I've been here several times and it's always been good. I suggest you get the pork chop which is large and really well done. This restaurant seems to be well done and not too noisy.

Pretty much on par with the other two/ three star reviews. Not great, not bad. WAYYY TOO SALTY overall. Some options were good, such as the oysters and steak bites but others were inedible and over-priced. Ambience was great. Loved the atmosphere. It's so dark they provide you a little lamp to read the menus. Creates some nice privacy for the intimate occasion. Drinks were great; the bartender there really has some skills. She is what the doctor ordered. The general consensus from our table was that the waiting staff was trying too hard to push more food and drinks. I know the drinks are where the money is made for a restaurant, but the fact that we all felt similar, says something. I'll probably go back to drink at the bar but skip the food.

Spanish and Italian flavors influence the menu at ASA in Los Gatos, an elegant Californian kitchen featuring local, seasonal, carefully sourced ingredients. Our friendly, personable waiter had worked at the long-standing restaurant for 10 years and was extremely passionate about their extensive wine list and gave us tastes of the wines we asked for before we even ordered! To start, we had an appetizer of the locally grown Heirloom Tomatoes, which were cut into wedges and served with fresh corn, tarragon, balsamic vinegar, and basil. The thinly cut, super crispy Truffle Fries were seasoned with Perigord black truffle salt and served with house ketchup which had a balanced sweet and acidic flavor. My favorite dish of all from our meal was the Exotic Mushroom Pasta. The tubes of pasta had a chewy, al dente texture, but the best part was the mushrooms, which were cooked with olive oil, marsala wine, and porcini broth, which gave the dish a slightly bitter flavor and formed a creamy sauce that paired perfectly with the pasta. Another favorite of mine was the Paella Valencia, which was an extremely creative take on the classic Spanish rice dish. In ASA's version, the rice was formed into circular "patties" and deep-fried to crispy perfection. The rice cakes were then topped off with other typical paella ingredients like paprika, olives, Spanish chorizo, saffron, and four huge gulf shrimp. Our server then mixed everything together, breaking up the rice cakes, so that every bite had a good amount of that delicious crispy rice! We continued with the "Sustainably Sourced Fish" of the day, a fillet of halibut, which was pan-seared and served over a white wine spinach risotto, along with a creme fraiche cauliflower puree and topped with a micro green and purple kale chiffonade. The bright flavor of the cauliflower puree paired nicely with the creamy risotto, and the fish had a perfectly crispy exterior. And finally, we had the Papa Pork Chop, which was literally one of the thickest cuts of pork I've ever seen on a plate! The two to three inch bone-in chop was brined and grilled and remained super juicy on the inside. The chop was topped with an unctuous, umami mushroom compound butter and served with kale and roasted sweet potato on the side. This was a meaty feast of a dish to be sure! Overall, the flavors and presentation of the food at ASA were extremely well-executed. The service and ambience made this restaurant a memorable dining destination, and everything came at a reasonable price too, given the quality of the ingredients and dishes.

Came here for a date night and I was so impressed! The food and vibes were exquisite and service was also excellent. Everything on their menu just sounded really great so we had trouble choosing but we ended up going with the Garlic Shrimp, Petite Baguette and Butter, the Kale and Fennel Salad, the Exotic Mushroom Pasta, Paella Valencia and the Petaluma Summer Chicken. I was impressed with just about everything. The Kale and Fennel salad was the only thing I didn't love -- it is quite acidic and not for everyone. The Mushroom Pasta and Paella were stand outs for me -- the pasta was rich and creamy while the Paella had such a great burst of flavors and textures. The Summer Chicken was also a solid dish with such juicy chicken and balanced sides. This place is definitely a gem and somewhere I'll be recommending to family and friends when they're passing through or visiting Los Gatos!

South Bay Gem . ASA Los Gatos is actually the second location of ASA (the first is in Los Altos) and refines the dining formula of long time Saratoga favorite The Basin . This sleepy area located just off Highway 17 and away from downtown LG ups the game from the former Grill 57 and just received their first Michelin Bib Gourmand recommendation . Everything is delicious but I loved the exotic mushroom pasta and the truffle fries .
