Asada Mexican Restaurant

Wow omfg wow that's it all there is to it. Best "steak fries" Ive had in 30 years in San Diego. Drove up I had a reservation down the street to pick up a client. Came in for a bite I've been craving from this other fries for some time and I saw this place named asada. I figured I would find some good carne asada based off the name and location. In all fairness I did order carne asada fries and got steak fries. Common problem you run into here in California or in the states. However whatever dude these things were crispy soft tasty plentiful. These are the best fries I've ever had for that cut of fry at a taco shop for once it did not taste like a weekend Taco shop fryer. The fries around point the sauce guacamole cream all the goods even the salsa were fire. I got the mini carne asada fries once again I was deceived as they were not asada and far from mini. I was a able to put half away rolled over and pasted out. Mind you a full size man 400> lbs. I most definitely recommend you try these delicious steak fries. You'll have order them as carne asada fries but again whatever don't care if they're not they were delicious

So we loved coming to this place for a few years now but unfortunately the tacos we always get have fallen off and tonight was the last straw. Idk what it is but they always give really crisp charred shredded beef tacos now. The meat is just hard and like jerky or crushes up like cheetos in your mouth...the shredded beef shouldn't be burnt. Please cook the meat for the shredded beef less. The tacos cost so much...its disappointing when the majority of it is inedible and this isn't the first time...we have had multiple tacos and haven't eaten here for months but I thought let me try it again but the tacos were the most charred I've ever had...really disappointing...just don't cook the meat so much???

Been here multiple times. Purchased asada tacos, asada burritos,California fries and burritos. Beef tacos combo(rice and beans). All have been great. But I went in this Sunday morning for some menudo. And Wowwwwww. Hands down best I’ve ever tasted. Straight out the bowl it’s seasoned so good you could eat it with nothing on it. Highly recommend. I think it was about 15$ for a 16oz container. About a serving for one maybe two people if you eat light. But I highly recommend it. A must try. As a Mexican that eats home food on the daily and struggle to find a good authentic Mexican shop, yeah this place has it down. Bowl looks a bit small but it’s pretty decent size. Could be a bit bigger. But it’s so I’ll let it pass ☺️

I this is my late night go to place in Chula Vista. Castennedas is 14.00 to 16.00 a burrito and they are small. Asada is 24 hours, reasonably priced and the burritos are consistently good. I come after a long hard day of work and they really take good care of me.

It was close to midnight and it’s been couple years since I’ve ordered at Asada. Aside from the 15 minute wait at drive-thru, my rolled tacos were cooked just right, crunchy and tasty when I arrived home. I didn’t mind the 4 mile drive to Asada as it was conveniently located right off the freeway. I plan to return another time.

I haven't been to this place in a long time . I went and got a adobada burrito .it was ok at best . Eatable .but nowhere close to PANCHOS on h St in Chula Vista , also why is the arm machine in the drive thru?. By time you get off your car and your car is on while your using the ATM you can get carjacked , this place sucks for adobada burritos . The near was chewy . A lil too chewy

I would have given them five stars. Unfortunately basedon the waitresses service and attitude I can only give this restaurant four stars. We came as a group of four sat down in their dining area and they brought out our meals individually so what happened is half of us eight while the other two were waiting for their food.. we suggested that they bring the food out together and the waitress told us to give food back that was already served and they will bring it out when the other is ready. hahaha! Food was good. I will return but next time I will use the drive-thru to avoid the service.

Have yet to be disappointed by the place! They have been extremely consistent with both the food and service! My girlfriend and I usually order carne asada fries and although it’s a tiny bit more in comparison to other spots… it is absolutely worth it. They have the regular size and the XL fries. When we’re starving we get the XL and it is plenty for 2 people! We always order take out through the phone and they’ve been spot on with the wait time more often than not! We will of course keep coming back here!

I went there today and didn't know what to order. The young lady helping me was Max. She was awesome she made some great recommendations and she was right. I had the carnitas torta with crispy meat and it was fire. She recommended that I get spicy carrots. Max was patient, very nice and professional. I would come back to this place just because of her. Thank you Max food was great.

Served me "cheese enchiladas" with thick mole sauce--chalky, sweet, fuxking disgusting. Refused to replace w/quesadilla or refund. Finally, after 5 minutes of explaining that it is not OK to offer one thing and serve another (even menu photo!) they FINALLY agreed to replace with green enchiladas; which will probably be too spicy for me to eat. Seriously fuck them they do not deserve your business. There's a reason they have so many bad reviews.

Hands down, best place for all Mexican food. Yes I said that, all Mexican food. Their burritos are huge, full of meat and ingredients--not stingy at all! I always get the either the California (no pico) or surf and turf burritos. Their fries and nachos are fire and delicious! But the best are their soups!! I am obsessed with their pozole and fresh flour tortillas. Their salsa bar is perfect and always full. Their rolled tacos are so good, yes we've had the fish ones and those are so freaking bomb!!! My husband and I always come here every time we visit San Diego.

The service was bad. Food bland. I went yesterday and ordered a combination plate, the lady blamed me and said that she repeated my order three times. But she did not. I specified that I wanted cheese on my "beans", ended up only getting tacos no beans and rice. Apparently that was my fault? Spoke to the manager Marisol, at first she offered to give us a free combo for the discrepancy. Once arriving, she did not honor that. Instead, she took the side of the other manager. She did state on the phone though that the other manager had already previous warnings for the same issue. Just wanted my food after a long day at work, instead of giving me what I paid for - she wanted to argue . Won't be returning & if I do I'll be sure to have her repeat it 5 times, since 3 clearly wasn't enough . Thanks.

Food is good but I'm a cheap ass person too expensive for me but whatever you get you'll like

Rolled tacos presentation was good but no flavor. Same with my carne asada burrito. My husband enjoyed his surf n turf. So not too bad! It's been years since we ate here though!

Come to this place often because it's convenient and close by. The service is always good. And the food is usually good too. I had to give this a low rating because our order gets messed up pretty often here, and our order hasn't been right on a more than one occasion. Tonight we ordered 2 burritos and paid extra for sour cream in both Burritos ($4) along with a soup that was $18. We did not get sour cream in either and the soup had one piece of meat in it. With everything just being a lot more expensive nowadays, if we are going to order out and pay the hiked up prices of eating out, we would at least like to get what we order, especially when we pay extra. Probably won't go back because to pay $59 at a fast food place and not get what we ordered is pretty disappointing.

Food is good but pretty expensive. Add .75¢ to use credit card. Has salsa bar and spicy carrots.

Just came from the drive thru. The girl on the.... ummm, board...? was so sweet and patient with my friend. She was both professional and understanding of my rather spacey friend. PLUS!!! That orange hot sauce of yours.... oooooh.... I haven't had that in about a decade, but that straight fire deliciousness has not diminished. So, as a rather irate person on a day when I've been debating how I can get away with burning down buildings, the impeccable attitudes of your workers, well, thanks to God, but also the rather odd joy I got from your 2 am night crew, ain't no fires to put tonight, physically or metaphorically. Cheers to hiring the right people for the job.

Very unhappy people working here! First off the food is not worth the price (super overpriced) Secondly .... Please serve according to the menu. I order rolled tacos all the time which specifically says has guacamole. Well... they changed their minds but not the menu. Then when I request my order be adjusted according to the menu the employee gets pissed off and says he's not dealing with this tonight and slams the drive thru window on me. NO CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Been going to this place for years lately I've been getting the carne asada fries and they put so little carne and this place is expensive. Idk if they changed cooks but the food hasn't been the same lately

Got breakfast burritos for my husband and I a few days ago. We both got food poisoning from the burritos 8-10hrs post consumption. FYI that was the only thing we ate that day. Horrible food poisoning that lasted for 2 days STAY AWAY from here. Never coming back here ever again!

Be careful! Look at your receipt! I went through the drive thru twice now and one receipt says one price and the debit card says another price !

I have been too many different Mexican restaurants before in Chula Vista and now trying different Mexican foods I can tell the difference in quality of meat they chimichangas is so good also there's shrimp burrito and quesadilla supremes they open 24 hours drive-through well recommended employees very friendly

Food was very good. Their portions are larger than most restaurants and their pricing is reasonable. I definitely recommend.

I loved this place but found what I think is a small roach or some kind of bug in my Carne Asada fries. Disgusted and really upset and will be reporting to the County health dept.

Never disappointed in the food at Asada. Bonus points for being available 24/7. Many of the burritos are two meals.

A La Verga with this place! I usually try not to do 1 star reviews but this place earned it. Came here a few times years back I stopped because they were cash only & their food wasn't worth to go out my way to go get cash. But they accept card now so figure I hit up their DT. Got 2 tacos a Carne Asada & Pollo one, it was almost $12 for the tacos practically $6 a taco & they were skimpy! The Carne Asada was tasteless & cold my daughter didn't want it & I didn't either & my Pollo was over seasoned & also cold. For $12 I can get a 2 taco meal with rice, beans & a drink almost any where & here I get 2 cold tasteless undersized tacos. The service was wack too, I first ask for mini TJ tacos which most taco shops have but they don't that's why I had to get 2 undersized, over priced regular tacos. But it was the way she told me, "This ain't TJ we don't have mini TJ tacos we have regular" with an attitude. When I saw her at the window she gave me a dirty look. Never greeted me or say thank you or bye. Look I get it you at a wack taco shop in the hood in your 40's at minimum wage on a Friday night when you want to be at home watching Telemundo eating Pan Dulce but hey don't take it out on the customers senora. Probably one of the worst taco shops in the South Bay, I won't be going back ever, I rather go to Taco Bell for Mexican food.

Giant burritos and good quality. Quick service as well. Bring cash! There is an atm right before the window, but plan to pay the fee if you don't come prepared! Very inexpensive compared to similar restaurants with much smaller portions.

Eggshells and Chorizo burrito. Drove thru at 8 am, service was ok, but my breakfast burrito had eggshells.

My sister and I were having lunch earlier today at Asada on Main St. We are both senior citizens and my sister has dementia with physical issues which causes unexpected problems with Gastro intestinal emergencies. This problem came up while dining and it became an emergency that required her to use restroom immediately! My sister was refused use of restroom!!! Even after we explained (in English and Spanish) her emergency along with her medical issues...We were told by Roma (cashier) multiple times "floor is wet and cannot be used". She was sent out of Asada restaurant, instructed to go to a laundromat in the strip mall half a block away (it was a pay restroom). Due to her condition, she soiled herself while trying to get to laundromat. I cannot believe my sister could be treated so awful!!! so cruel...This incident was very upsetting and humiliating to my sister as well as very upsetting to me. I will never go back! Hope the owners realize this was bad business.

I decided to try again and set myself up. $18 for a shrimp quesadilla and only 5 shrimp in this big ass thing.

The breakfast burritos are ok but better with the creamy green salsa. They will not serve this salsa in the drive-thru. Told me I could park and come inside to get it. Whaaaat?!

AUGUST 2023 - Extra Large Asada and Chips. 95% Compressed Chips, less than 5% Meat! One time you go order and pay $23.00 dollars, and get a great meal. Then You go back and get 95% Chips, very little meat! This is the 3rd time in a row they ripped me off! Does anyone know of a Good Asada Place down here? this place is only interesting in raising their prices while giving smaller portions, and blatantly ripping off customers!

I normally go to restaurant when I want something quick. Drive thru 24 hr joint. I ordered 2 grill fish tacos. Pretty tasty...but very overpriced for breakfast. Service is not so courteous but it's more like fast food sooooo..not really shocking.

This is one of the best Mexican Food is all San Diego! I go there almost everyday and don't plan on do it so anytime soon! Excellent customer service, and it doesn't take that long to my food, and the ambiance is an exceptional! And last but not least, they have the best CORN CAKE EVER, it reminds me of the one made in Brazil! Thank you for existence Asada Mexican Restaurant!

Absolutely overpriced, always have to ask for more salsa when they give one salsa for a burrito or one order they charge for more salsa the attitude with the workers are very poor and not to helpful I don't recommend this burrito shop whatsoever

Best veggie burrito ever! Arroz y frijoles on point and I loved the corn and peas on it! Love that the drive through open 24/7 too and the prices are reasonable. You'll be FULL off of one of these burritos! Side note... the woman at the drive through window was very kind and stunningly gorgeous... so if you see this... hi :) lol

Wow... came here late after work since i saw it's open 24 hours and golly gee I don't think I would go back maybe if everything else was closed I would possibly give it a try (most likely find another place... we're in San Diego there are hundreds of other Mexican food options) I got a California burrito and the meat was not seasoned you figure the meat would be good considering it's called asada Mexican restaurant... and on top of that it just tasted bland and not very good. It was also $11 for the burrito!!!! Outrageous prices however I guess the portion of this long burrito I received made the price suffice. To top that off got to the window (since they have drive thru) and the worker didn't even know what I ordered... almost charged me for someone else's! I've been on the hunt for the best burrito spot here in South San Diego and this place is not it.

We usually love their food but last night my dad ordered "3 rolled tacos with sour cream" and they deadass made 3 rolled tacos with ONLY sour cream inside. Bffr

Always love asada. Prices are a bit to high but the food is worth it. I will continue to go there forever.

Negative star!! By far the worst gross Mexican fast food I EVER had in our entire lives... we had so much running oil in ours foods to make meals/dinners at home for an entire month, literally! My son asked me "what's wrong with the fries, are they raw?" Hell no, they were soaked so thick in oil, tasted nothing like French fries! Adobada had no flavor, the salsas either, no authenticity whatsoever. I only stopped by cuz their was a long line, heck let's try it! Los taquitos has never failed us! Food became doggy food.. never going here again! Ohhh btw prices are ridiculous over priced!!!!

Open 24hours, fast service every time! An amazing place for good and fast food. If you need to sit down or go through the drive through it's quick!

I was starving and I saw this restaurant on the side of the road and I thought I'd try it because I driven by it so many times and it has been there for so long that I thought it had to be good. I ordered five roll tacos, and as I ate them, I thought they were yummy but then after I ate them, I felt really gross.

Wow!! I just paid 10 dollars for a burrito. I hate to say this but I am never coming back here for three reasons.. 1. Insanely overpriced food 2. Mediocre taste at best 3. The worst customer service I have ever had Spend your hard earned money elsewhere. Inflation isn't the problem here, although this is what you dummy's get for voting for Biden.

California burrito Overall, it they use poor quality ingredients. The meat was not seasoned and greasy. The French fries were 75% cooked and soggy. Just don't do it.

Good food open late night! Love me a good drive thru Mexican spot. Definitely gotta try it!

Real good Carne Asada and Pollo Asado in general. The orchata isn't the best one but it's decent.

This place has definitely gotten so bad. I used to really like this place but not anymore. The prices have gotten so crazy it makes me sick. I paid $17 for carne asada fries and $3 for a can of soda. Im sick that I actually paid this much for average tasting food. I have paid way less for much better food. I only came here because the panda express line was so long. I thought other places were overpriced but this place has took it to a new level. Im sorry but I will not be coming back ever.

This location has gotten so much better with the quality of food and beverages including salsas. I literally busted into tears the moment I tasted the Horchata it was so well made you could taste the cinnamon and rice water so well blended. I been to this location all my life snd it's first time the horchata was well made that it hit home. As for the chicken roll tacos they were freshly cooked and super delicious that my appetite increased with the added green salsa so thick and mild spicy I must say this location has improved tremendously that it's worth giving it a visit. I couldn't take a full photo of my 12 roll tacos because it was so delicious I couldn't stop eating as seen in the photo. Customer service is so friendly and efficient to have your order at the window upon payment. Keep in mind this location only accepts cash and they got an ATM in case you need to withdrawal. Highly recommend this location for Mexican food.

So sad! We have been going here for years, and have noticed an increase in prices and decrease in sizes. We don't mind paying a little extra, but these last few visits the quality has been terrible. Today we got 12 fish rolled tacos and noticed the fish was chewy. I pulled out the fish and saw it was undercooked. This is unacceptable and we will not be returning.
