Okay, right off the bat, super friendly staff. If I was rating this place based on the staff I interacted with for my to go order, it would be 5 stars.
The food, though, well, that leaved a lot to be desired. Imagine a lot. Now keep going. Imagine a lot more. Now run with it and imagine even a lot more. I ordered a lamb burrito and was excited to try it as I love lamb and I love burritos. When I got back to my office and unwrapped the burrito my hopes were still high. But then I bit into it, and all I could taste was the tortilla and the rice. And the rice. And even more rice on top of that. A quarte of the way through the burrito and I know that I was eating bit of the lamb because I could see, but I had not yet tasted any lamb. The taste of the rice was very over powering, and about 80% of my burrito was nothing but rice on top of rice on top of even more rice.
And it was not even good rice. It tasted like a slightly minty version of the rice you get at Chipotle. There were whole cilantro leaves that looked like they were sprinkled on top of the rice before everything was rolled up and much like the lamb, the you could not taste the cilantro, unless you picked it out of the rice and ate it by itself, which I did, just to taste something other than the rice. Have I mentioned that there was a lot of rice? I did? Well, maybe you should imagine a bit more on top of what you already imagined. Now you might have a proper idea of how much rice was in this burrito.
In addition to the burrito I order chips and spicy salsa. The chips were fine. Nothing to write home about, but nothing to complain about. The salsa was okay. It had a very strong chipotle pepper flavor. It was slightly flavorful but for what was supposed to be spicy it was boring. Oh, it had heat, but it the only reason I kept dipping my chips into the salsa was because I paid for it. And even that could not keep me going and about halfway through my chips I gave up on the salsa.
The salsa verde, though, was truly excellent! I would definitely go back there to get an order of chips and salsa verde. There is pretty much no heat to it, but it is quite delicious. I actually drank the little cup of it that came with the burrito. Sadly, the salsa verde is not good enough to make me want to eat another burrito so overloaded with rice that you cannot taste anything else in the burrito, especially not when paying that much for lamb!
Oh, not to go into too much detail, but since I got home at work I have paid for this burrito three more times on the commode, if you know what I mean, and I think you do.
If you find yourself in the vicinity of Ogilvie Transportation Center and are looking for a good burrito, go to the French Market or the Ogilvie food court. Both have better burritos. Yeah, you will not find lamb meat, but then again, I barely found any lamb in the lamb burrito from Asadito...
