"Because Austin is full of bar-food truck combinations, this is a great duo near campus in the East Chavez neighborhood on East Sixth Street. First, you’ve got the Grackle, which serves up easy drinks and a really decent whiskey lineup. Then there’s on-site food truck Asador for all your taco needs. There are indoor and outdoor dine-in areas." - Nadia Chaudhury

Good taco truck at The Grackle. Simple menu with tacos and chips and queso/guac/ salsa. Food was really good, good was fast, and easy to order at the truck. 4 stars because there was no napkins, it's greasy af, and they should wear gloves when making the food.

Chicken was so good we ordered seconds. Even tried the brisket and it was great. Chips were thick and crunchy seasoned really well. Definitely found our new taco spot.

Great flavors! Different than the typical tacos you get here. The homemade flour tortillas are some of the best I’ve had (actually tastes a bit like Asian Bing if you’ve ever had that). The green salsa is a way better flavor than the typical Austin taco truck green sauce. There aren’t a ton of options, but you don’t need them. The brisket (served like burnt ends), carnitas and grilled chicken were all very tasty! It is kinddd of pricey though. $6.50 for one taco 😅

It takes a pretty bad experience for me to rate a place this low but this was horrible food. Queso here was super watery and tasted more like bad milk than authentic queso. It was so bad. Briscuit was so dry and thin and soaking in loads of grease. Definitely over cooked. Quesadilla was also made pretty bad.. It was more like a fried taco. However, worker was very friendly but I would not come here again, unfortunately.

Worst queso in Austin! Caution!!! Don't waste your $10 on it. Brisket taco was 3/5. The brisket was dry and needed a heavy amount of salsa to swallow the meat. Carnitas quesadilla was 3/5. Mushroom Mole was weird 1/5. Seems like they use some kind of spice for all the tacos.

Great food. Was a little skeptical at first because of the price per taco, but their portions are a good size. This spot is a great addition to not only the grackle but the east side. Carnitas was so great had to go back for more. Tried the chicken taco and loved it. Got to taste the mushroom mole and was impressed. Salsas were great. Flavors here are on point. Tortillas are delicious but do feel precariously thin; mine held together with some fearful handling. Wish I had more salsa (street taco salsa portion for a not-so-street-taco taco), but otherwise loved it. Would recommend. Pairs beautifully with a dive bar evening. Will try the chips and salsa soon.

Went back twice cause these tacos are the best I’ve found in town. The Mushroom-mole is phenomenal. The corn taco itself is really good, slightly crispy. And you can easily enjoy them in the bar Grackle right next to it with one of their nice beers.
