El Porteño

I was the first time in Valencia. I went spontaneously to this place and didn't know exactly what to eat. Juan the waiter gave me super good advice for the food. I had a Entrecote some Trüffel potatoes empanadas and some secret dessert everything tasted amazing and was perfect together as a menu. It was a super nice experience I will be back here if am in Valencia. Gracias el portento, Gracias Juan for the great service.

I have to admit that I was very satisfied with this restaurant. The location is excellent, as is the service. We chose the tasting menu and the house red wine, which is unlimited and included in the price. You have multiple drink options included.🍷 We took the tasting menu. The sausage was tasty, although it did fall apart a bit, the sauce served with it, however, was excellent. The empanadas were really good, one had meat and the other spinach. The cheese was flavorful, though slightly difficult to serve from the dish, which was my only minor complaint. The meat was delicious, and the potatoes were outstanding. Personally, I don’t feel the chicken fits perfectly into this platter, but it is still a good option for those who prefer it over pork. For dessert, we had a pancake with caramel and a banana cake, simple and tasty. The banana cake was my favorite, but the ice cream served with the dessert was missing flavour. Overall, I was very pleased with the experience and would definitely come back to try more dishes. We had a reservation, but you might also get lucky if you decide to stop by spontaneously. I would give it a solid 8/10 and would certainly recommend a visit. 😊

We visited in December and had a great experience overall. The prices are fair for the quality they deliver, and all the food we tried was delicious. The staff was attentive and the service was very fast, but at the same time we didn’t feel rushed at all and could enjoy our time in the restaurant. One area that could be improved is the bathrooms — they could have been cleaner and there was no toilet paper when we visited. Aside from that, everything else was very good and we would gladly come back.

We had a fantastic experience here, we tried the tasting menu, which was excellent value. The drinks being included was very good when you are eating a lot of meat. We got through a few bottles of water & a red house wine, which was delicious. Wish we had room for more as there was a great selection! (Warning: the tasting menu is very filling but we had a break before dessert which allowed us to squeeze it in our tummies 😂) The staff were all very friendly and informative, providing efficient service in a well designed setting that had a good atmosphere. Shoutout to our waiter Juan in particular, he did a great job!

My wife visited Valencia Spain en February and we were looking for a steak house. We come across this Argentinian Steak House, we notice they had room for the day that we wanted to go. What a great experience and one of the best parts was the service from Facundo out server what a nice young man. Very attentive and on top of things for our table. He explain every detail to my wife and make sure feel very comfortable. We had a great experience at this restaurant.

We stopped there on our last day in Valencia. Booked the restaurant just 30mins before arrival. On entry we passed customers smoking cigarettes. But it was raining so I presume nowhere to hide from it. The restaurant was full, and very noisy. We got service very quickly and were given English Menu. Which was welcomed as didn’t need to translate. Drinks and food were served fairly quickly. Food was very good. Starters, main - which we shared and salad. Wine recommendation was spot on.

Really enjoyed our evening in El Porteño! We had booked a table in "La Sala" and it was very beautiful and clean, the service was great all night and the food just delicious. The staff really ask about the cooking you prefer and don't mind putting it a little bit more if needed, everything was super tasty and high quality. Would recommend and come back!

València has an extensive restaurant selection so for me it was hard to actually make a choice with so many options available. My wife and I decided on El Porteño. Lucila was fantastic. Helped us with her suggestions to make sure we were getting what most locals do. Would highly recommend for not only quality of food but additionally the great service.

El Porteño - Mi rincón imprescindible en Valencia Cada vez que estoy en Valencia, hay un lugar al que siempre regreso: El Porteño. Es mi parada perfecta después de una buena caminata por la ciudad, donde sé que me espera una copa de cava o una excelente botella de vino y, por supuesto, un filete a la altura de cualquier ocasión especial. He disfrutado aquí tanto con mi hijo como con amistades queridas, y la experiencia siempre supera las expectativas. Desde los entrantes hasta los postres, cada comida es un homenaje al buen gusto y a la hospitalidad. El personal y la dirección son simplemente excepcionales: atentos, cálidos y con ese toque que hace que te sientas como en casa. Superb. Una joya que siempre recomiendo, y a la que siempre volveré.

Came here with a group for a nice dinner. This restaurant has several buildings and area within the same address. After some minor confusion, found the reservation and table. Seemed that who ever took the over the phone reservation took some liberties when writing the name down. 1) We had several beverages. 2) Place has a cramped old feel and look. 3) Server was not very attentive and extremely forgetful. We ket ordering water and drinks over and over. At least three times or so each of us. Each time it seemed like a combination of these three because he either kept on forgetting, maybe he may not have cared, or was extremely busy. 4) Food was very good, due to this, I recommend it. 5) Had several dishes. All good. Some great. The grilled sweet breads were good. Overall, I recommend you give this place a try.

Tooo many amazing things to say about this place. First our server Lucia was extremely nice. The restaurant is cute and quiet enough to enjoy a family dining experience. The food is the highlight however. The steak here is amazing. It's cooked to perfection. The potatoes that accompany the potatoes are yummy as well and perfectly seasoned. I had a mushroom empanada and it tasted like heaven! Gracias El Porteno! Hasta el proximo tiempo

Came here to celebrate my boyfriend's 40th birthday as he loves steak. Food was very good, service was also good. Will return

We did the tasting menu and it did not disappoint! Delicious from beginning to end, bring your appetite because it is a lot of good. Best empanadas, and the meats were out of this world.

As soon as we walked in the door we were warmly welcomed. Perfect start! The menu was in multiple languages, so had I brought my Russian comrades,they would be in the know as far as what's on the menu. I thought that was very thoughtful! The appetizers were awesome. We ordered a variety of empanadas..spinach with goat cheese, chorizo;and one with beef. All were delicious!The meat selection was fantastic. Veal was tender. Everything was seasoned to perfection! They brought us cake even though the buttons were popping off our pants. Then they brought us a glass of champagne to celebrate our pants actually staying on! If you're in Valencia and you're hungry...GO HERE!! You won't be disappointed!

A really enjoyable experience. They were fully booked online, but our hotel concierge called was able to get our family of four a seat if we were there in 10 min. We were a 5 minute walk and they greeted us by name. They spoke English well enough, we could communicate basic words in Spanish, and we never had a communication issue. Servers were very attentive. But the food- to a dish everything was great. We had the assorted beef platter for two and it easily fed three. One of our party got the pasta Bolognese and it was outstanding. Desserts were top notch as well. Would highly recommend if you need a break from all of Valencia's wonderful seafood options.

We went to this restaurant on our first night in Valencia and it did not disappoint. The tasting menu included empanadas, bread with queso, a huge assortment of meats and dessert. Plus the service was amazing. Would definitely recommend but go hungry!

This was our most expensive and most disappointing meal in Valencia. I really wanted it to be good, but the quality fell way short of acceptable. We ordered the tasting menu and the dishes flew on the table fast! We weren't even done with our appetizer course before the next arrived. We are taught as children to chew our food twenty times. I wish that I could have done that with the meats were were given. The flavor was divine, but it required so much cutting and chewing that it was impossible to eat most of what was given to us. The bottle of wine was good, even though a 2021 vintage, but otherwise it was a very disappointing and expensive meal.

I maybe in Spain, but it taste like Argentina! I was craving a good cut of beef, and the Spanish, well they excel in so many things except the grill. El Porteño is worth the visit and you'll be coming back for more. Their chimi-churi sauce is out of this world. The empanada I ordered was excellent. But, the creme de la creme was the beef ribs. Cooked and seasoned to perfection. Remember Argentinians love salt. Service was top notch, my server knew the menu, the cuts of meat and most importantly wine. This friendly, quaint restaurant, with a kicken asador (grill).

2nd day in Valencia. We mostly eat tapas, pastries and toast. We have had a few meals between city stops. This meal was our favorite sit down full meal. Even the endive and arugula salad was amazing. Bookmarked this one because I want to come back!

Fantastic food and service! Have the skirt steak with chimichurri sauce and ask for Macarena.

I really, really enjoyed both the food and the service at this place. My Spanish is bad at best, but the girl who sat us asked if I spoke Spanish or English (which I'm certain she already knew by that point). I said I spoke a little Spanish and that I was learning. She smiled, said no problem, and left to get our drinks. She spent the rest of our meal speaking to me in Spanish slowly and kindly correcting any mistakes I made (she also spoke flawless English to my mother). It was greatly appreciated and added another level of enjoyment to our meal. Speaking of languages, the menu comes in about 10 languages which was a great touch. The highlight here is the tasting menu which is a sample of several meats plus empanadas and a few other items. Unfortunately, I wasn't hungry enough for that amount of food, but I saw it served to several nearby tables and it looked phenomenal. I had just an empanada and the beef sirloin. Both were excellent. Prices are very reasonable for the location (it's a block off the central square). Of note, the hours on here are slightly incorrect. They close after lunch and reopen at I believe 7pm most days.

Fantastic! We've been touring Spain for nearly a month, have eaten in many restaurants and our meal at El Porteño was quite simply the best we've had. The food was exceptional and the service excellent.

If you just need beef you can't miss this spot. Staff multi lingual and very friendly. Tapas were complimentary. We really enjoyed trying a bunch of different empanadas. Beef was outstanding although the portions are very large so you will need to verify the fineness to your liking.

Great service and delicious food! It was definitely a highlight of our stay (food wise) very delicious and the service was also really good. Nice patio area and also one of the only places open at any time you need dinner.

When in Valencia you MUST go to El Porteño! For sure order the grilled veggies to start. The salads are also fresh and flavorful. We ordered both the beef rib - generous and cooked to perfection. Our other meat was the grilled chicken thigh. Huge portion and, again, cooked to perfection. Their fries are the crispiest seasoned perfectly. The ambience is casual neighborhood style. Staff is gracious and attentive. The house wine is quite good. It and other selections, including Cava, are available by the glass. The kitchen is open from 13:00 to 1:00 One our best dining experiences in Valencia.

We had a variety of appitizers and main dishes and everything was perfect. Service, food, prices; nothing lass than 5 stars!
