Asano

Super excited that Asano is branching out! I've been to their UES location around the time they first opened, and had really enjoyed the matcha they brought to the very matcha-less UES scene. The concept of having a third space to do work or chat in during the day, and converting back to a restaurant during the night, is a cool concept that I hope we see more in the future, so other independent business owners can get a better shot in opening their own cafes! Asano has a nice variety of teas and coffees, with unique seasonal flavors that rotate every couple of months. Their matcha is solid, and my friend who tried their special latte, the Asano, said it was tasty as well. They also have some pastries if you'd like to grab a bite to eat. This spot is located inside the restaurant Noortwyck, so it has plenty of seating and natural lighting! There's also free wifi here, so most people coming in bring their laptops to work. The only thing this place doesn't have is outlets, so plan accordingly! I was lucky enough to run into the owner of Asano when I visited, and she was such a kind, friendly person! Wishing the best for Asano moving forward, and hoping to see them branch out into new locations

Great second location for this lovely cafe! I’m a big fan of the UES location and this new spot is so convenient. I love how spacious it is, and of course the drinks and pastries are always top-notch. It’s almost unheard of to get this quality of coffee/drinks AND have so much space to sit, catch up with friends, or get some work done.

This new Asano location is so adorable! The pastries and coffee are phenomenal and there’s plenty of seating to read, work, catch up with a friend. Can’t wait for this to be my regular spot. The classic Asano miso coconut latte is amazing but the new Noortwyck-exclusive banoffee latte is also incredible.

This was such a treat. The pastries were creative and delicious, the service was friendly and thoughtful, and the space was in a beautiful restaurant in off-hours. Highly recommend making this your go-to spot!

Another hit by Asano Cafe. This gem is located inside The Noortwyck restaurant in West Village right near John’s pizzeria. This is a great place to work as it’s spacious and they allow laptops. It’s even good for lowkey meetings. Coffee is excellent and looks like they may keep the pumpkin spice latte up for longer than the holidays!

Such a great experience stopping in on the first day of opening. Tried their specialty latte and the strawberry matcha with homemade syrup. Everything was delicious, the staff was so friendly, I highly recommended if you’re in the area.

The staff is so friendly and their drink and pastry selection is both unique and 11/10 when it comes to taste. Try the asano latte (the miso actually complements the coffee so well) and the matcha cake! I’ll be back for the fig matcha :)

All dinner only restaurant should be changed like this. Morning lunch coffee shop, with big desks big spaces finally. Please NYC do this.
