Why There Are So Many Diners at the Jersey Shore | Eater NY

"I visited the Diner at Asbury Lanes (circa 2018), attached to the bowling alley and Asbury Hotel, and found a bright, shiny space with gleaming chrome that stays open 8 a.m. to 11 p.m., serves wagyu burgers rather than standard griddle patties, features a boozy milkshake of the week, and—while not diner‑cheap—can feel like the hub of the evening scene where you can sip a lager, hear pins fall, or glimpse a band on the stage behind the counter." - Melissa McCart

26 Places to Eat and Drink in Asbury Park

"Connected to Asbury Lanes, a revamped bowling alley, bar, and music venue, the Diner serves dishes like hot honey chicken and waffles or brioche french toast. The prices are steeper than a typical diner, but then again, most diners don’t offer a wagyu burger. Time your visit right and catch a sound check while there." - Celia Buckley, Melissa McCart

We came here on 6/30/25, we were seated right away and the food came really fast. The food was good 👍 and the waiters were kind. The atmosphere also was good because of the retro vibe. The only reason I gave this place a 4 is because I saw a hair on my utensils.

This place is a diamond! The burger has no reason to be this good! The vanilla milk shake was awesome. It was really fun to be able to watch the band play inside Asbury Lanes from the counter. The staff were super nice! Can't wait to come back.

Nice little diner next to the bowling alley and adjacent to the Asbury hotel. Service was great and the workers were friendly! Had the Asbury breakfast platter, coffee, and juice. Everything was good and felt very "diner authentic". You can charge you the room if you're staying at the hotel which is nice. I didn't try the milkshakes but I wanted to (it was too early)! Maybe next time! Recommend checking it out!

Went during a concert. They could have easily given really disappointing food for a premium price at a venue where they have a captive audience, but I was very happy with the quality of the food they serviced us. It wasn't cheap but wasn't expensive either. Food tasted great and was made to order!

This small dinner has nice service and yummy breakfast items. The bacon jam that accompanies the french toast tacos is fantastic 🥓; it's a great combination of savory & sweet. The breakfast burrito is delicious as well. The location is close to the beach which is ideal ⛱️

A very nice little diner! Gives big classic diner vibes and is right off the boardwalk, so it's a great spot to visit when you're down the shore. I did miss the presence of a regular burger, but the sliders were very good. Grilled cheese was incredible. Would warn that prices are very much beach prices, so not your average $10 for a burger and fries prices. Be ready!

I love this little diner nook if you will. It’s clean, the staff are friendly and attentive. The food was amazing. Everything down to the straws are eco friendly and sustainable. A perfect spot to come to for some good ol’ breakfast.

Unfortunately, this was not the experience I was expecting. I made a reservation for my boyfriend and I, and was super excited at first! We went in and loved the old timey atmosphere and went right for a malt milkshake (which was for $12). We ordered sliders thinking they were going to be decent sized ones we saw in pictures online. We got them and they were the size of dollar coins (and for about $17 for 2 sliders)! I ordered bacon jam on the side. When I reminded the waitress to grab it for me after bringing our food out, she said they’re still making the burger topping. I then sat for 15 minutes waiting for my bacon jam and trying to get her attention (we were the only table in there). She came over and asked if we were doing well. Clearly not since I had to wait 15 minutes for a burger topping letting my food get cold. She never checked on us after bringing the jam, never refilled waters. It was overall not the cozy, comfort diner experience I was hoping for. For 2 orders of TINY burgers and fries and one small milkshake, it was over $62! Unfortunately not worth it. Be careful when choosing; the diner and bowing alley are different places!
