Was great atmosphere but I asked for 2 diff foods they didn't have and then ordered a cocktail they didn't have. This is why I gave it 4 stars. Wait person's should not have to spend the first 5 minuts of their experience with customers telling them what's not on the menu, that's management's fault. Upstairs was fun, good music playing, great vibe. Food we did order came fast and was very good, although if you order disco fries and you have ever ordered them from any Jersey diner, you will be disappointed. Not enough cheese and gravy. I highly recommend the pretzel with beer cheese. SO GOOD. All in all this place is great to chill with friends. Cocktails were mixed perfect, our waitress was lovely, for 5 people our bill was about 170 for 3 hours food for all and multiple drinks. 😀 we def will go back!

Long lines at the bar, but such an amazing roof top space with live music. Plenty of seating areas both on the roof and indoors downstairs. The wall gardens were very pretty. Cash only for food was a bummer. But took cards at the bar at least.

This was my first time here. I can see why this place is so popular. I know the area very well, and spent my summers growing up in Bradley Beach and Asbury Park. It's located next to the Asbury park Distilling Company. That being said, what makes this place unique is its size. Once you enter and walk up a flight of stairs, or ( THERE'S A WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE ELEVATOR FOR HANDICAP.) you can see just how big this place is. You will need to put your name in with the hostess if you want to get a table, unless you have a reservation. Inside, there's a 6000 sq ft indoor hall where they claim to be the biggest Austro-Hungarian Biergarten on the Jersey Shore. The bartenders serve premium local, and international draft beers. If beer isn't your thing, you can also get mixed drinks, a bit pricey for the size. The have HAPPY HOUR Weekdays from 4-7pm All day on Fridays Weekends from 1-3pm. They are closed Mondays and Tuesdays. In the back right corner is a long bar, some high tops, and long wooden communal tables all across the entire room. It has the feel of an industrial warehouse. The floor is concrete, the tables are wood, the ceiling is high and completely open. Asbury Festhalle & Biergarten has a very cool vibe, perfect for the area. Upstairs, there's a 9000 sq ft rooftop Biergarten with communal outdoor seating, with umbrellas. You can take in the lovely views and watch people rent the swan paddle boats. You can also bring your DOGS to rooftop bar only. They host MOVIE NIGHT ( check schedule) and also have WEEKLY BANDS, ( check schedule.) Since this place is so unique, they also BOOK WEDDINGS. ( it's best to check and see when there going to be closed so there's no surprises.) They have street metered parking, and several lots in the area, along with a few handicapped spaces. FYI- this place gets crazy busy! It was a hot summer's day on a Saturday,so I started with a mixed drink of Tito's and club with lemon upstairs at the rooftop bar. Once my family showed we put our name in for a table and we're seated within 15 minutes at a high top. We ordered another round of drinks including beer. I decided to order a few different dishes and we all would share. I ordered their large BAVARIAN PRETZEL with 3 different mustards for dipping. The pretzel was huge and it was delicious especially when it was dipped. Next came SMOKED POLISH KIELBASA-Fresh pork sausage with garlic, sauerkraut and rye bread. The Kielbasa was so good and fresh tasting. Next was their SMOKED MAPLE BOURBON RIBS-Biergarten original rubbed barbecued ribs with french fries and cucumber salad. The ribs were very tender fall off the bone. They had great flavor, and the cucumber salad was also delicious. Last was the HALLE BURGER- Red onion slaw, Munster cheese, tomato jam on brioche bun served with French fries. The burger was very tasty especially the sauce. The food here was very good, we really enjoyed our time here, It's definitely a great place to catch up with family or friends. I wouldn't hesitate to come back, it's a lot of fun. We even went next-door to their distillery for more drinks.

Amazing real German food! I got the pulled pork and had some bratwurst.. we went for a comedy show, it was so good! The staff was very good, foods good, prices are average bat prices I guess. But great experience.

Google
We stayed outside on their roof top for a few beers and some cheese curds and soft pretzels. The food menu on the rooftop was limited as compared to the inside menu. Table service was limited, so we ordered food at the window ourselves and picked it up when we received a text message. The food was good and they have a Nice Beer selection!!

Google
Been coming here since they opened, always a good atmosphere! Usually very busy on the weekends don't expect to find bar space or a seat on a Saturday night. Bartenders are friendly and the drinks list used to be way better (budlight and modelo at a German beer hall? Come on). Luckily they still have some European Beers left

First time here, really enjoyed the food and layout of the place, had a nice selection of college football games on. Beer choices were good

Google
Great beer and great service. There is a good variety of beers on tap. The waitress came around often to ask for refills and anything else we needed. Four stars for the food. It’s good, but not amazing. We got the bratwurst, goulash, burger, and pretzel to share. The pretzel is a great appetizer and can be shared among many. Would definitely go again for the drinks!

Lorelei D.

Yelp
5 stars seems dramatic, but it was really good! Made a reservation for a group of 6 friends and Festhalle didn't disappoint. The seating is mostly shared bench style. We had the spicy chicken sandwich, chopped salad, pretzel (with cheese) and cheese curds. All of the food was amazing and came out pretty quickly. It was better than average bar food and was very filling. The server, Matt, was attentive and bussers were quick to take plates and glasses. Great place for a dinner with friends.

Dominic D.

Yelp
Great atmosphere.. very large establishment I had the ribs (i don't drink) and the pretzel which was my favorite lol 10/10

Chris A.

Yelp
This place was awesome, plenty of beers and food options. The beer I got was really good it tasted like a blue moon. There's a rooftop area which is very nice. Service was good and very friendly staff. Definitely will be back!

Nidia Fernanda N.

Yelp
Awful, we decide to go to the the roof and order some beers and some appetizers, but once we order our first round of beers, they charges us $15 dlls for a 10oz of beer, we couldn't believe it and my husband ask the bartender what were the prices for the beer and said $15 each, and in the menu it says $6 or something like that, not $15, the services is awful and the charge you what they want, not coming back and not recommend it.

Cheyenne D.

Yelp
Great ambiance, I enjoyed the updates more. The menu is limited to what you'd except at a Biergarten. We got a cheeseburger which was a bit salty, the fish tacos were delicious & the soft pretzel to share. I love the vibes upstairs on the roof deck with the live music & view of the sun setting!

Yelp
This place is huge! It has major industrial vibes but I love it! Big tables and lots of space for groups. The rooftop is a great spot to hang out when the weather permits. We have gotten food from the rooftop and it was food, not out of this world but it did the job. I remember it being pricey for what we received. Service was solid, there weren't long waits for drinks or food.

Yelp
A waitress here pressured me to tip her more. After handing me the credit card machine to punch the amount in for a tip, I put in an amount, then she said "Okay I think you calculated this wrong" and handed it back to me and directed me to the tip reccomendations on the bottom of the reciept. To be fair, I didn't tip her the exact right amount the first time. It still made me uncomfortable for her to say something, and left a bad taste of this place in my mouth. Food and beer are fantastic, but just not very nice of her and I'm not going back.

Yelp
What a wonderful night in Asbury... ended at the Biergarten! We started off coming in and sitting in the middle table in the dining area. We were told exactly how to sit by the hostess. We had to sit 3 and 3. Then about 17 minutes later we were able to catch the eye of a waitress named Rachel. Rachel took our orders, was extremely impatient, and didn't try to sell or persuade us into buying anything. We had 2 children with us and asked what drinks were available (coke or Pepsi products) and she stood there like a deer in the headlights. Drinks came thru about 10 minutes after placing the order: We waited about 45 minutes for our food, to be expected since it was busy on a Saturday night. Rachel came by the table multiple times and said "it's coming." Like thank you, that's why we were waiting. We got our appetizer, amazing pretzel... absolutely delish! Highly recommend the mustard and beer cheese. We ordered a chicken tender meal, 2 schnitzel, 1 bratwurst, 2 burgers. The food runner said that there were multiple other orders placed for our table. So we were brought duplicates of some of the meals. Which we sent back. And the food runner and waitress had a convo right next to our table with the waitress making it seem as if it was our fault that she placed duplicate orders. While eating we needed refills which Rachel did not come and check on us at all after food was received until we were almost done. Multiple people from our party made direct eye contact with Rachel to come over to the table. Rachel did not come to the table and walked in the opposite direction of the need. At this point the restaurant had really cleared out and most tables were empty. Finally when she did come over she took the drinks that needed to be refilled and brought those back and asked if we needed boxes. At this point we requested one and she brought it back and left again. We waited another 30 minutes for the check. When we finally got her attention to come over she asked if we needed something and asked for the check. She came back with it and left it on the table for a few minutes. After waiving Rachel down yet AGAIN she finally came to collect payment. She stood directly behind the person paying handing him the recommended tip sheet. And watched his every move. Isn't that rude? What we believe the tip should be should not be micromanaged by the employee. Since when does a waitress get to dictate our tip amount? Very dissatisfied with this employee and she ruined our whole experience. The food was absolutely phenomenal and totally wish that overall it could have been a pleasant experience. I'm extremely disappointed with how unpleasant and undereducated she was on the menu.

Yelp
Order: - Rekorderlig Mango-Raspberry (5/5) - Chicken Tender and Fries (5/5) Pros: - Large drink menu selection with tons of beers/ciders and wines to choose from - My BF thinks these are the best chicken tenders he's ever had haha - Lot of seating indoor and outdoor Cons: - Service is on the slower side - Very dark inside Overall: A great biergarten to hit up after a day at the beach and grab a few fretting beers

Rachel S.

Yelp
Average service and average food. I had the pliz burger which would have been great if it wasn't sandwiched between 2 pieces of stale bread. Idea was there but poorly executed- especially when you're paying $20 for a mushroom. Service was also slow. Wouldn't go back

Bret K.

Yelp
Great place to post up before a show at House of Independents. Great service, delicious food and they had a great house band for St Pattys. I've been here a few times and it works on a really cold day and upstairs( outside deck )on a warm day. The run down: crispy chicken sandwich, potato pancakes, kielbasa with kraut n potato salad. Dig the location too across from the lake and behind cookman.

Carly G.

Yelp
Halle Burger was great. Downeast Cider Donut was a must try. Appetizers were outstanding. Great ambiance. Will be back soon!

Tom L.

Yelp
I always rate on 3 things (service, atmosphere, and food). 1- service was great. The server had a huge section and was working hard. 2. Love the atmosphere. Just a cool place to relax and have a pint. 3. Food is pretty good. Not the best but the rest makeup for the food.

Mark H.

Yelp
Your rooftop music is so loud it invades all the houses on the opposite side of Wesley Lake and far into Ocean Grove. There is no escaping it and the bands are often mediocre at best. We can't sit on our porch without being assaulted by the sound. Turn the speakers so they don't face across the lake and turn the volume down.

Christopher P.

Yelp
Parking is street metered parking only so be prepared to get there early enough to find a spot if you have reservations. The restaurant overlooks a small river with houses on the other side and is very beautiful at night. My friends and I reserved an Igloo for dinner ($300 minimum order, maximum 8 people). There were no menus and we had to use the QR code and our smartphones to look it up. The igloo doesn't look as nice in person as pictured. It's plastic and not glass or Plexiglas. There was a heater in the unit and it was comfortable to sit in to dine. Be warned... there is a time limit. We only found out once we got there about the 2hrs limit. It immediately dampened the experience since we felt very pressed to quickly order and eat so we could have some time left over to chat over drinks. The menu is not large and I would say the pricing is fair. Everyone enjoyed their food so there was no complaints. The problem was with the waiter and kitchen. Drinks were forgotten as well as dinner orders. They even forgot to add a pickle to one order as well as forgetting to bring BBQ sauce. The igloo's were not all filled and I would have to say that is wasn't packed enough to have all of these service issues. Would we do the igloo again? Probably not at this location. It's a cool idea and something different, but the 2hr time limit killed it. We drove about 1hr 45mins and was hoping to spend several hours relaxing and catching up with friends. 2hrs may seem like a lot of time but it really isn't to have dinner and drinks with a group of friends.

Jarrod G.

Yelp
Food is always above average and we enjoy the authentic beer hall style...the roof is a bonus....bar service can be a little slow at times

Leandra R.

Yelp
The food here is stellar. The pulled pork is delicious, fries are nice and crispy, and the wagu sausage is OUT of this world. The staff is lovely. So kind, and so attentive. At one point we asked to move tables because we were in the middle of a party, and they apologized so many times, moved us right away. Again, so nice. The crowd is awesome here too! We went for dinner and drinks a few nights ago and had an awesome band play! I wish I knew their name to call them out, but it wasn't advertised anywhere. they had an awesome conga line and the singers were awesome. All and all we will be back soon!

Laura R.

Yelp
So very crowded. Lines everywhere. Checked my ID just to get in but I don't even drink. I don't get why the pretzel was $17. It was good. It's still a pretzel though. The fries were $5. Inside was crazy packed so went up to the rooftop. You have to share tables with strangers which is super fun in a pandemic. I'm only in my 30s but maybe I'm just too old for this frat-boy, bachelorette party vibe they had going on.

Nicole F.

Yelp
We visited there on Saturday, February 4th. First of all, the parking meters a annoying. You must pay to park t eat here. We ordered the Flammkuchen, A German Pizza. It was $10.95 and so small. It tasted very good, however for the price we felt ripped off. I ordered the Schnitzel, the Schnitzel was delicious & tender. It came with "German Potato Salad", which was the worst Potato Salad I ever ate & was not German at all. It was like mashed potatoes with no flavor. The "German cucumber Salad" again was cucumbers in vinegar, kinda like pickled. German potato salad has sour cream most of the time. This was not German either. I haven't been there is 5 years & I probably won't go again if ever.

Stephanie C.

Yelp
I came here with friends for some drinks after dinner. There are plenty of places to sit. The bar was a little crowded but we were able to snag a high top table. This is a cool place to hangout and have a few drinks.

Cee B.

Yelp
Went with the family to watch an NFL game and was told after sitting down, the beer system was down. Our server then told us they did have a limited number of bottled beers available. Every one I asked for was not available... Really? Wouldn't you know it, they did have crazy expensive bottles of some nonsense I never heard of though. We ordered a round and some appetizers because we traveled over 45 minutes to get there. Mid way through our meal, we were then told they were closing and we had to leave in 15 minutes... Not even done with our shitty beers and over 80 dollars of apps. You have to be a real asshole manager or owner to do that to people that stick by you when you're down. Not even a discount or an apology or a , finish up.. Don't worry.. We paid and left instead of ftfo. Avoid this one.

Yelp
When spending the afternoon in Asbury Park, my girlfriend and I came here for some food and drinks. We always saw this building from the outside driving, and it caught our attention, so we finally decided to stop inside and check it out. We came on a Saturday afternoon, and we were able to get a table seat right away. They had alot of TVs with sports events playing, which I enjoyed. We started out ordering some IPA beers. They were delicious and fairly priced. Then, we had a giant pretzel and some smokehouse wings. Both of these food items were very good. I especially enjoyed the wings. The flavors blended together perfectly. After the food, we ordered another round of beers, this time just a Miller Lite large glass, and the beers went down fast and smooth. The staff was very friendly here as well. They kept checking in on us timely, asking if we needed anything else. Very professional. Overall, we had a good experience here. No issues and we had fun. We were going to a concert later that night, so this was the pregame spot. Recommend!

William T.

Yelp
Grabbed lunch here recently and enjoyed the experience. We walked in right when the restaurant (festhalle?) opened, so it was pretty empty initially but began to fill up a bit as we ate. I was impressed by the size of the venue and I think it'd be super fun to go there with a few friends and grab a couple of drinks. The beer selection was decent! I ended up getting the DAB (a lager) and was a little underwhelmed by the flavor, despite our server recommending it. I dunno, it didn't taste much better than something like a Miller Lite to me :) My wife and I both ordered the wiener schnitzel since it seemed to be the appropriate choice given our surroundings. I have to admit that I didn't love it - I'm not sure if that'd be true of any wiener schnitzel, but yeah, not a huge fan. I got the jaeger sauce on mine (for an extra $3) since the server described it as a "mushroom gravy" and I thought that sounded delicious, but it was only OK. I actually maybe preferred the lingonberry sauce that my wife got. I would come back here for sure because of the cool vibes, but I would definitely order a different beer and a different entree :)

Jennifer C.

Yelp
Why are we putting up with these restaurants charging us for their costs to do business? Out of all of the things that boggles my mind, this is at the top. The convenience of credit card use is 1000% the responsibility of the business, it is literally THE COST OF DOING BUSINESS. PERIOD. Full Stop. Prices have already been raised across the board, now you're passing the cost of doing business onto the consumer as well with your surcharge for using a credit card. Really? If credit card companies are charging too much, you should get together with other business owners and go after them. You don't pass that charge onto your customer; it's offensive and it's immoral. When will enough be enough? Am I the only person that gives a crap about this, it appears so. The food was fine. The server was good, but I don't patron restaurants that charge me for services that are NOT MY RESPONSIBILITY.

Colleen D.

Yelp
Large space. Great rooftop. Fun vibe. Excellent food. What's not to like? I've been here many times over the years. Menu has changed a couple of times (miss the warm brie), I've enjoyed everything I've gotten here. Bonus: they added a Beyond Meat bratwurst. The beer list is extensive and they have a full bar if beer isn't your thing. Menu on the rooftop is limited - if you want more than bratwurst and a pretzel, you'll have to eat downstairs (no vegan bratwurst served on the rooftop either). I don't think you could go wrong with much on the menu here. Food tips: Pretzel....you can't come here and not get the pretzel. Mussels - the sauce is divine. Other tips: The AC can be on pretty high indoors, bring a sweater if you get cold. If it's nice out, check out the rooftop.

Bridget B.

Yelp
We came here for the first time during a warm January day. We immediately head upstairs to the roof deck. We were able to snag two seats at the bar and hung out for a couple of hours. We had the Spaten Premium Lager and Hofbrau Original. They were super delicious and the bartenders were awesome. Definitely can't wait to come back on the next warm day.

Lina S.

Yelp
Nice ambiance, very nice servers and hostess. I thought for just drinks and hanging out this place would be great however the food was so underwhelming and the bathrooms were filthy. With some more focus on quality of the food (ex. cherry preserves or stewed cherries on the cake instead of defrosted frozen cherries) it would be an awesome place to stop by regularly

Maddie A.

Yelp
the food was really good!!! the vibe was amazing inside, really good music and a lot of things to watch. our server was so sweet and checked on us a lot. id deff go back

Michelle P.

Yelp
The Asbury Biergarten is a cool place to hang and grab a beer. It's a few blocks off the beach along the Wesley Lake. It's modeled after a German Biergarten and the beers follow suite. Luckily, they also have a few local options if German style beer isn't your thing. The beer list just has the breweries listed for the local taps, not the specific beers. I understand taps change, but that's why places have paper menus or use chalkboards. It made it hard to figure out what they actually had. If you are on the roof, you can't order from the menu downstairs. You aren't allowed to order it downstairs and bring it up. There's a $20 minimum to use a credit card. The rooftop was a really chill spot though. I could imagine how perfect it is on a nice day compared to the hottest day of 2019. As someone without a connection to German Biergartens or a fan of German beers, this spot didn't blow me away, but I can see why it is popular.

Bill F.

Yelp
Great beer selection and good food. Enjoy the rooftop bar during nice weather. Lots of TVs to watch your favorite sport.

Danielle H.

Yelp
I've been coming here for a few summers- The bouncer Jay is one of the nicest guys we've encountered! Super sweet and always so welcoming! The drinks here are good and it's always a great time. Will (of course) be back.

Dan M.

Yelp
The Asbury Festhalle & Biergarten was absolutely amazing! I had so much fun! They had igloos on the top during winter! We were having such a good time! This is a huge place. The main bar floor is fun and Oktoberfest Munich atmosphere was excellent also! The German food and beer always makes me have fun! I love the spaetzle, meats, and German beer. You will love this place!!! Good choice!! Great German food and beer!! Prost!! Some of our favorite choices were the potato pancakes, chicken wings, sausage, spaetzle, schnitzel, etc!

Tina C.

Yelp
It was a lucky night for us entering the Biergarten last weekend! Jason greeted us at the door & couldn't have represented the establishment any better! He was incredibly welcoming! He is much more than a doorman! Trustworthy, respectful, professional, courteous, responsible, friendly, helpful, & charismatic, are just some of the words that describe Jason! We look forward to returning soon, especially to see Jason!

Bob H.

Yelp
Very disappointed with food quality. Mustard & cheese spread pretzel condiment's were poor, they are not the original recipe which was excellent. Ribs were dry with caked on BB sauce, seemed like they were last weekends remains. Salad with salmon was over cooked, again poor quality. Miss the previous management/chef!

Will V.

Yelp
This is a popular place to go in Asbury. I was excited to go and try something different. I like the text message system to reserve your spot. I tried two German beers. Both I liked. We waited a half hour on a Sunday, so that tells you how busy this place is. When you enter the place, it feels like you are a German warehouse with food in it. Really liked the atmosphere and live music did play. Food wise, I tried the famous German pretzel. Came with two side and it's one of the best pretzels you will ever have. You need 4 people to spilt it. I had the turkey Ruben. The positive was it was tasty, it's open Sandwich with nice size bread. The negative was it was cold on top with the middle warm. My wife had the cabbage roll, which was a special, and that was very good and more on the healthy side. My negative part of the experience was how the food was brought out. I felt our server took long to get to us. Our dinner came out two minutes after our app came out so I was pretty upset with that. That to me was a NO NO! It's a 4 out of 5 based on how long it took for our waiter and the food coming out so close together. I will go back again, but try something different and maybe skip an app. Also please check out the rooftop! It's huge and in the summer but be a lot of fun!

Cassy B.

Yelp
This is such a gem in Asbury! The rooftop is gorgeous!! You can literally spend hours there just hanging out and enjoying the breeze. We stopped by hungry and ready for a drink. The rooftop does have a limited menu of bar snacks. We shared the pretzel and it was huge, definitely satisfying. I got a cider and it was delicious, wish I remembered the name. Every server we came across was super friendly too. If you decide to dine inside you have a ton of options from the menu. We peeked at it for next time and they all sounded pretty good. Inside is the same layout, a bunch of communal tables. It's a fantastic spot right by the water. Definitely recommend coming here for a date or with friends on a beautiful sunny day. Parking is easy and there's meters all around to pay.

Yelp
We came today for beer and lunch with our service dog. The security person was more than rude rejecting us to get a table or entry to the biergarten. My dog is a certified service dog and I was never sent away. We actually read online beforehand that seating in front of the building would be fine even with a dog that does not provides a service. The security person said "he doesn't even wear a vest" when I wanted to show proper documentation he didn't even wanted to look at it. Unbelievable!

Yelp
I had been here for beers many times, but never to eat a meal. We took my grandma here for Mother's Day dinner, because she said she was dying for German food, and I was so pleasantly surprised by how good all the food was! All the traditional German stuff was great, but I had the salmon and it was absolutely delicious. Both the hostesses at the front were super helpful and accommodating with giving us a table near a wall so my grandma could sit comfortably, and the service was nice and attentive. I can't believe people gave bad reviews because of parking (not the restaurant's fault) or a waitress pointing out that her hard earned tip was calculated incorrectly. People are ridiculous. Definitely give this place a try!

Yelp
My girlfriend and I stopped in today on an absolutely gorgeous Sunday afternoon around 1:00. We went to the rooftop and it wasn't very crowded but people did begin showing up consistently before we left at 2:15. The rooftop is large and I got us a table over by the rail which overlooks the lake and where you can see the ocean (from afar), it was very relaxing. Their beer menu is huge, and I could see it being intimidating for those who like beer but probably haven't heard of 3/4 of the options. The staff is pretty knowledgable of the menu and if you tell them what you like I heard them giving many people good recommendations. I saw they had Carton and ordered myself a Carton Boat which came in a cool mug that I kinda thought about finding a way to take home with me haha (I didn't). You can't go wrong with Carton. My girlfriend went with the Weihenstephaner Hefe-Weissbier. We have actually had Weihenstephaner before and she liked it so she asked to try that and decided to order one. It was a solid choice if you like a Wheat Beer. Both beers were $8 for a 1/2 Liter aka roughly a pint. A little high but the ambiance is worth it if you just want to go sit on the rooftop with a beer.

Yelp
Had lunch this weekend, not too crowded, I heard this can be as issue at night. Surprisingly good food service and beer. Caesar salad was tasty and fresh, Weiner schnitzel was crunchy, tasty and tender. Had a look at the rooftop area, looked very nice but temperature was too high. Overall very good, I will be back for October fest!

Yelp
Awesome and lively biergarten to hang and grab drinks with friends - the beer menu is huge and there's definitely something for every beer lover. The staff is also very knowledgeable and gave some great recommendations for those who weren't sure what to order. My group of 10 started off with drinks on the rooftop, which was a fun spot for chilling and chatting over a few cold beers in the warm weather. We actually would have loved to stay up there longer but sadly the rooftop only has a limited snacks menu, so once we got hungry we decided to head downstairs for the full dinner menu. The standard menu has a nice variety of German food on it, as well as daily specials displayed up on the wall. Everyone in my group pretty much ordered one of the sausages (comes with sauerkraut, potato salad, and bread) to keep up with the biergarten theme, and we loved them! The dish didn't look like a lot at first, but it gets pretty filling by the end of it. Next time I'm back in Asbury Park, I'll be back to enjoy the rooftop and try more beers.

Yelp
This place was just absolutely bizarre from the moment i arrived. I frequent breweries all the time and although this place isn't one, I would say it falls along those lines. Haven't been back since before Covid and always raved about it. Now there's a bouncer at the door who's asking for IDs. Why? Is this a night club? I had to walk back to my car for mine as I am never IDed anymore seeing as I'm 31 and look it. Bouncer said it's policy for anyone who looks under 40... bizarre. I've worked in the industry for 13 years and have always been told (by corporate places who are very by the book) that it's anyone who looks under 30. I only bring my ID when I'm going to a club, not anywhere at 5pm for a glass of beer. My friends all went to the rooftop whilst I walked to my car with my toddler to grab ID. I come back only to be told that I can't go to the rooftop with my daughter because she's not 21. I asked why she can't go up there and the hostess looks at me like I'm the most stupid person "because it's a bar and she's not 21". So we can sit downstairs with the other bar... just BIZARRE. Make it make sense. There is food and tables upstairs it's not like it's 11pm with a DJ. Whatever, we came for the rooftop seating so I sat in the dark soulless indoor area (WITH A BAR) to wait for my friends and husband and maybe get a beer. My husband comes down to join us with his beer from upstairs. Waitress tells me that I cannot just have a beer, I have to order food too or sit at a high top with my 4 year old. Jesus Christ this was just turning into a nightmare. I declined and my friends from upstairs came down with their chicken tenders and drinks. So now I felt like I had to order something so this poor waitress got some money from us being at her table for a bit. My friend ordered a Jameson and ginger and all 4 of us who are all bartenders tried it and it straight up tasted like gingerale. Literally could not detect any alcohol. We sent it back and she came back with another one and she said "he told me to tell you that he put 1oz in there and that the upstairs bartender probably gave you too much". Um no we have been drinking/bartending for years and know what a mixed drink tastes like. It's like every interaction felt like a comedic show and we were the jokes. Couldn't just enjoy a glass of beer with my family and friends outside on the rooftop on a lovely day. Epic fail.

Yelp
Always love coming here during the summer. Fun rooftop bar, seat yourself... pretty large so not overcrowded feeling. Jumbo sized pretzels and live music. Nice views of the lake. The indoors is a dark, warehouse vibe - cool though. The beer is excellent; I've tried many of them and I like all different varieties to judge. Bartenders are well versed and provide thoughtful recommendations. Food is also very good - had traditional bratwurst. So flavorful, nice portion size for the price, rye bread was the softest I've ever had, potato salad was excellent...was craving more! and the sauerkraut and mustards were the perfect touch. Definitely swing by this spot for food or brewskis. I appreciate the authenticity, prost!

Yelp
We had surprisingly amazing food here two nights in a row. In fact, we had no intention of coming back until our children demanded it on day two. Cool ambience, good drinks and a couple dishes that rank right up there. The beer battered chicken with brussel sprouts and mashed potatoes - and the pulled pork - were amazing.

Yelp
In addition to the lousy service, they bait and switch the pricing. When seated, we were told to us the QR code for a menu. When I asked why an item on our check was a few dollars more then the menu price, I was told the QR code menu wasn't updated and the prices are higher. I asked our server to mention this to the manager (who apparently holes up in his or her office instead of being out on the floor). Long story short, the manager refused to take the few bucks off our check. I won't be back. If you go, bring ear plugs and expect to pay more than the listed price.

Yelp
Rude bartenders, rude manager, over-priced drinks and food. This place has gone way downhill! We definitely won't be going back!

Yelp
We came for he rooftop holiday market and beer!!! I love the variety of german beers on tap here. Even though I usually stick with Dunkel... it's all good stuff! The holiday market really has a European flair. Great ambience! We finally got to try the food here. Just some nibbles but wow it's pretty damn good. Reminiscent of the beer gardens in Munich we visited. Had to get the pretzel. It's huge! It comes with stone ground mustard and cheese. Yummy! We also got the obligatory bratwurst. 2 that comes with sauerkraut and potato salad. Again, a lot of food and really good! They do a great job here bringing that European feel to Asbury Park. One of my favorite places!

Yelp
Stopped by after grabbing lunch in town. It had rained that day and the inside area was too crowded so we went to the rooftop. Most tables were wet and that was to be expected. We found a table that wasn't completely drenched. I waited at the bar for at least 10 minutes without being served. I gave up and sat back down. It wasn't even busy on the roof so I didn't understand why I wasn't being served. No one even made eye contact. I gave it another shot 15 minutes later and finally got a drink. They do have a vast selection of beers and I enjoyed the fruit beer that I ordered. We probably came and went in under an hour. Didn't get to try the food but maybe next time if we're in the area.

Yelp
Best bar on the Jersey Shore! Giant, two-story megabar loaded with beers, insanely good food, and an oceanfront rooftop bar! The atmosphere here is off the charts! Always packed with people, you don't mind shouting over the crowd knowing you're in the most popular spot with the best beer and food on the Jersey shore! Just got to go here and check this place out if you haven't been here yet! An absolute must on any visit to Asbury park. Stepping inside you immediately step into a German biergarten. There's loads of German beer to pick from at the bars or menus, they serve up all the German food favorites, bratwurst, kielbasa but even their burgers are insane! The mandatory appetizer that you must have are the giant pretzels with dipping sauces! Hot mustard and something else, I can't remember now (I already had a few beers when I got mine). You won't find it better anywhere else! The atmosphere here is just great. They seat you at long biergarten style picnic tables. But then they serve the best German food and blow your mind! It's really not necessary that the kielbasa be five stars since the atmosphere here so great for example, but it is! I even had the chicken kielbasa and it was heaven. I'm still talking about the first floor by the way. They also have an elevated platform for a band to play here! If you go up the steps to the roof there is a jampacked rooftop bar! So much fun during the summer. Highly recommended, make sure you check this place out!
