Visiting Texas. Asked for their signature cold brew, from the pics here. They didn’t know what I was talking about. Wound up with a hot coffee in this summer heat. Ordered a bagel, they asked butter on top, or on the side. I asked for it on the bagel. Received cold unspreadable butter on the side

I live out of state and remember ascension in TX being SO good. This location left me underwhelmed for sure. We were looking for a satisfying brunch after an early flight. The food was cold, the service was meh, and the bread tasted like it was frozen with Starbucks’ stash. On the bright side, we enjoyed our coffee. Skip this location if you can, y’all.

Great spot to get work done with mid level noise. The food is good but for some reason it takes forever for one of the server to clean the tables.

This is my first time trying Ascension! They’re interior is super cozy and spacious, it was a busy Sunday but we were able to snag a table to study at. Menu had very exciting options with both the bevvies and food. I got an horchata latte, Sunrise bowl and some eggs. Wait time was understandably a while but the staff was working fast! Eggs came and were bomb. We were very let down by the sunrise bowl tho… for 11$ you do not get much for your buck :( The amount was absurrrrrdly small for the price (Pic is of it all mixed up) The eggs were more filling and yummy! my horchata latte was lost in the shuffle too but staff was very kind and immediatley helped me out and brought it out quickly. It’s A very yummy latte. Overall, I’d return to have a bevvy and study but id be wary of of the food options and their portions!

Google
I had the coffee walnut cake and the Bhakti chai both of which were excellent. The chai isn’t a typical desi chai- but it does actually taste quite exquisite. Highly recommend that with the cake. We sat outside the server kind of forgot about us. But she was very sweet.

Google
I ordered a pickup power brekky bowl this morning and I’m not going to lie I was a little let down. Ascension is normally my go to brunch and coffee shop and I just moved into the Addison area. This was my first time testing my local Ascension and I wasn’t pleased with the pickup order I received. The portion size for the mushrooms was laughably small and I’m also used to getting a little more eggs. The bacon and avacado were great, just coming from other nearby Ascensions they seemed to give a much bigger portion of eggs and mushrooms. This is. $13 plate, and sadly I didn’t feel like I got my moneys worth when I normally do at Ascension.

Google
Very nice coffee shop with great service! Food was delicious and was very comfortable to sit for a meet up with coworkers.

Google
Good breakfast and friendly baristas. I just wish their espresso was more consistent. Some days it’s good, some days it’s awful and not drinkable. Lots of seating, but tables don’t get bussed very often so it can be hard to find a clean table.

Yelp
I've always been drawn to their seasonal drink menu. I had the s'mores latte 10/10. It had a chocolatey smoky flavor. The star of the show was the always 10/10 ginger cookie.

Yelp
My husband had the worst stomach bug in his life after he had this coffee. He wanted to me to reach out to management to let them know that the milk might've been bad. I did and the response I got- instead of a - apologies will refund your order- was basically: our milk is not expired it has a layer of heavy cream on top- sorry. That's it. Working in the coffee industry myself, if a customer had a complaint about a coffee, not even remotely close to this, we would immediately refund no questions asked. Super disappointed as I had good experiences with other ascension locations. Do yourself a favor and make the further drive to the next location!

Yelp
Great coffee pours but poor service. Why is it mandatory that I be assigned a server if I sit outside with my coffee, when I want to pay inside and sit to sip? Ambiance is good but not if I want to be unbothered with my coffee outside at a table.

Yelp
My food and drink were both excellent. I ordered the Aussie Bacon + Egg Roll (includes a sunny-side up egg, two pieces of bacon, aussie bbq sauce, mayo, toasted brioche bun) and the Shroom Latte (organic spice blend, adaptogenic mushrooms, almond milk, simple cane sugar, calendula flowers). I'll admit the Shroom Latte sounds unconventional, but I was feeling adventurous and was pleasantly surprised. It was very rich and had a strong cinnamon taste; note that it doesn't contain coffee. Furthermore, I greatly appreciated the insight Finley shared (e.g. he was able to elaborate on the flavor and process of making their cold brew). Since this place functions like a typical coffee shop, there wasn't much of a service component after placing your order, but they bring your food to your table (fresh from their kitchen in the back) when it's ready.

Yelp
Love this place! Food quality food and coffee and very kind staff. Got the sugar cookie latte half sweet and was good, nothing crazy life changing but a good not too sweet drink.

Yelp
I came and ordered food and a drink. A woman taking up two tables for herself and people coming sat alone me standing at the counter with my food and drink. I will not return anytime soon. With a clientele like this woman I don't know why anyone would want to come. It might be a good place but with this experience I will not come back to be told I can sit outside when it's 46 degrees.

Yelp
Are you ready to Ascend? So, you guys know how I feel about COFFEE(it's more than breakfast. It's an all-day event!) I have been dying to checkout Ascension Craft Coffee + Food, but just haven't had the opportunity to step-in. Well, today was the day! It did NOT disappoint!! Ascension is a Craft Coffee Shop with various locations around the DFW area. They offer an elevated coffee experience to tantalize the mind, body, and palette! The shop is warm and inviting with the pastry case and seasonal flavors, front and center, as soon as you enter the store. Greetings all around from the staff and they were both helpful and inviting. The menu can seem a little overwhelming due to its vast options, but honey I was not intimidated! I was enraptured! The standards such as brewed coffees, teas, frappes, etc... are naturally available. But then, you begin to see temptations like Slow Bar(Pour-overs) made with Island beans with notes of toffee, dark chocolate, and cedar. Kyoto-Style cold brews, and even none coffee beverages like, matcha and golden milk lattes. They also have a variety of pastries, breakfast items, and lunch sammies. It was a treasure trove to be explored. So, I did just that! I had the Shroom Latte which was my first try of a mushroom blend coffee alternative(cause you know your girl tries to stay away from dairy). It was a DREAM!!!! Made with adaptogenic mushrooms, almond milk, maple syrup and spices; it was slightly sweet with a meatiness you wouldn't expect. I love how refreshing and reviving this drink was in place of my beloved morning joe. If you are a coffee shop aficionado, find a location near you and ASCEND! Check It Out!

Yelp
This is a gem of a coffee shop tucked away inside of an office park. Easy to miss if they didn't pull up on Google when searching coffee shops in the area. Especially with all the construction happening on Midway Rd. Don't let that deter you from stopping by here though, whether here to study, get your head down for some work deadlines or to catch up with a friend. You can do it all at Ascension! The inside is spacious and provides you with a nice area to sit and enjoy a cut of coffee or one of their many food options for breakfast, a snack or lunch. I've only stopped by for their coffee in the morning, but have enjoyed the taste and uniqueness of some of the flavors. I've had the Lavender Matcha, and the Horchata Latte. The drinks are not overly sweetened but give you just the right hint of flavor. Friendly staff and I really enjoy the ambience.
google avatar

Yelp
The atmosphere is pretty neat. There's about six people behind the desk one guy making the drinks. He looked pretty stressed. Took about eight minutes to make a latte. Everything else is good, but lot of young staff not really doing anything but one kid making all the drinks everyone stands around and talking and are playing on their phone Did notice that the manager walked out the office. He wasn't much help after he came out either.

Yelp
I'm a fan of this place! It's kinda a strange location for a coffee shop but nonetheless, I'm digging it! Their coffee is really good and seems to always be a good choice, no matter what I pick. Their food is delicious!!

Yelp
Great spot to work from home. Delicious coffee with a diverse food menu. Perfect for breakfast/lunch. I enjoy their chai lattes.

Yelp
Really nice experience at Ascension Coffee shop- the barista was really helpful in my selection and I will definitely be back! Grabbed a coffee and salad during business meeting. Perfect location.

Yelp
I've been to other locations and have always had a positive experience, sadly on my trip here that wasn't the case! I happened to see a post about the holiday flight to try the season drinks and they looked and sounded awesome. As this place isn't close to where I live (it's about 15 miles away), it happened to work out as the next day was Sunday. I took my Mom with me as she enjoys new coffee places. We walk in after a parking experience that really shouldn't have been that complicated but I only feel like it would be worse during the week! We take our time looking things over as the gentleman in front of us orders coffee. Then his order turns into a 10+ minute troubleshooting process of his app/ number not being attached. This all took place while the guy at the coffee machine looked dumbfounded... he either could've grabbed or started his coffee or even asked us what he could get started for us. Now the best part... after that wait, we ask for the holiday flight only to be told it wasn't available!!! If it wasn't available then write that on your chalkboard wall so at least I could've walked out! Ugh, just annoyed!

Yelp
Service was ok. The location has a lot of tables and space to sit. We got coffee and a scone. The scone was nothing to write home about, it did it's job as being breakfast. I got an iced chai latte, the chai was spicy and not as sweet. We also got a doki doki, which was ok but only like 4 ozs. If you want a larger drink to sip on, instead of a shot, you might want to opt for something else.
google avatar

Yelp
If you're looking for some good coffee check out Ascension! I have ordered coffee from here many times and it's always so good! I'm very particular about my coffee and they always make my lattes perfect.

Yelp
Good bagels - and wonderful service. The guy at the cash register was hilarious. Great place to meet up and just get work done.
google avatar

Yelp
Allow me to first say, sorry for the lack of pictures. I ordered a buttered croissant with bacon, egg and cheese and that lasted a whole 2.5seconds. Hahaha. I highly recommend this craft coffee location!! Service is fast, attentive and you can see they aren't just throwing things together ( like the burnt coffee joint everyone goes to in a pinch) . Great cold brew and chai!! A must stop and get your favorite mix!!!
google avatar

William D.

Yelp
The vibe was resilient and the service warm and friendly! I had the Golden Latte. Sublime!
google avatar

Yelp
Best bagel I've ever had. Wow, I literally had a bagel last week that was so dry compared to this place. Literally I couldn't stop obsessing over the Bacon Egg & Cheese bagel the entire way home--it was absolutely delicious!!! I added plain cream cheese. Limited parking compared to the amount of seating that's available(tons of both indoor and outdoor seating). There is also construction in the area (Sept 2022) which I think contributed to the limited parking. We got the very last parking space. I went here to try the Chai Latte. I should have known that Bhakti Chai would be spicy. It was a lot of ginger and I left half the drink. But they do have Almond, Hemp, Oat, and Coconut milk.

Yelp
I'd like to provide a note: Midway has a lot of construction so getting to the coffee shop is a bit of an annoyance. However, please make the effort. This location is clean and the staff is super friendly and attentive to getting your order out quickly and to your standards. I got my first coffee flight of the season and had quite the experience. On the menu it states Seasonal Coffee* this is where I wish they had a smaller menu just for the flight provided to know the names and exactly what you were given. I liked 2 of the 3, They provided soda water/sparkling water to help cleanse the palate before the next tasting. of the 3 the one I could not stand by was the matcha. This is not the coffee shop's fault at all which is why it doesn't hinder this rating. I can't wait to go back and see what else will be given. I also was hoping for a cute design on my regular coffee but wasn't given one...sad I know.
google avatar

Yelp
They only have one size for a cappuccino (meh). It's well put together but the bean is overly bitter (IMHO) - the bitterness jumped out at me with first sip and only slightly faded by end of cup. Ambience is fine. Decor is very basic. Doubt I'll come back.
google avatar

Kezia M.

Yelp
Great coffee to price ratio!! I got the cardamom bee and it wasn't too sweet. Would definitely come again. Nice staff, plenty of space to sit/study/work and outlets available. There's also outdoor seating. They have a variety of snacks and salads/sandwiches which was nice. Parking was easy too.
google avatar

Mitali S.

Yelp
Employee were prompt and helpful. I went around 8:30 in the morning and it was pretty quiet. The coffee shop is tucked away near what seemed like an office building. I ordered cardamom bee latte. It did not disappoint at all! I would definitely return as often as I can.
google avatar

Yelp
This cool little coffee shop is wedged into an office park just outside the Greenhill school. The decor features plenty of chalk drawings. It was crowded with college students during my visit - nearly every inside seat was taken. The lovely patio which provided ample outdoor cafe seating was empty despite the greenery well-planted to create a little oasis from the street construction nearby - probably because the muggy Texas weather made the air feel like soup! Ascension offers a gorgeous menu of pour over coffees and appealing breakfast sammies. I opted for a cardamom bee from the latte menu - it was good with a light flavor of chai. The lone employee working the front counter was clearly swamped by the rush, but he remained unflustered, calmly serving the long line and call-in orders alike.
google avatar

Chastity W.

Yelp
Nice comfortable coffee spot. I ordered the salted mocha, it was a decent cup of coffee. The orange cranberry muffin was very good! The staff was nice and attentive able to answer any questions about the menu.
google avatar

Ceci L.

Yelp
The coffee shop is spacious and the staff was helpful. It was my first time trying a doki doki. The drinks are relatively small.

David C.

Yelp
The food is great and so is the coffee. The service is horrible. It's took them 15 minutes or more to come take my order (I had to give a server the German stare). I ordered the steak and eggs with avocado and potato hash around 10:15 it came to my table at 10:52 I know the exact time cause I texted my woman about it. I've had faster service in other countries where servers don't get tipped. This is the USA it's my right to have timely service.
google avatar

Patricia J.

Yelp
Sad to say that the last couple of visits have been disappointing. The quality of the breakfast tacos this morning were very soggy. I couldn't open the tortilla to confirm if the tacos were bacon or veggie, as we were given the wrong ones twice. The consistency of service has not been the same as when they first opened. Sad to say but they e lost us as loyal customers. Also the outdoor tables are always sticky, dirty and the trash can always full. Ambiance totally changed.

Byron J.

Yelp
House brew was perfect for my taste preferences. Avocado toast came with 2 eggs; very good for early morning breakfast. Fair prices.
google avatar

Aron J.

Yelp
A nice little coffee shop to visit. I ordered the matcha latte and it was good. Had a nice sweetness to it. They have a bunch of tables for you to do work and sit at. Not too loud either so you wont get too distracted doing work. They also have little scan on the table to make it easier for you to order to your table.
google avatar

Yelp
Lee have visited this location in last three years, but the last three times, we have been dissatisfied with the quality of their breakfast croissants, and breakfast tacos. On this particular visit, we ordered two bacon tacos, one slice of coffee cake, and two oat milk lattes. The coffee cake was heated in an oven that literally took 7 minutes, during that time I was waiting for it. Not only did they forget to give it to us but had to wait that additional 7 minutes. Once we sat down, we noticed that the breakfast tacos were both veggie and not bacon as requested. I took it back to the counter and mentioned to one of the baristas, and got blank looks and no action, after a few minutes of just standing there, finally he takes it to the cashier girl and had a talk with her. After a few more minutes, he brings one taco to the counter and opens it in front of me to verify that they were bacon burrito, he assured us that they were and handed the replacement. Once I arrived back at our table, I sat down just to discover that they were both still veggie and no bacon. I then took the wide opened breakfast tacos back and by that time we were hungry and didn't want to chance it again on having a failed taco moment, I opted out for the breakfast croissants instead. I am disappointed on the way staff handled the situations from the first time I took the tacos back. My wife's breakfast croissant had missing egg but at that time we gave up and were super hungry so we made the best out of that situation. It was a Sunday at 9am and their trash can outside on the patio was exploring with trash. Inside the coffee shop, they had a tower fan going near the coffee dispatch area and the back of the fan was full of dust bunnies, which really made my stomach cringe. Very disappointed with the overall experience.

Yelp
The perfect place for a delicious cup of coffee. They have a nice indoor seating area as well as patio seating. My sister-in-law and I stopped by after I had seen a fellow Yelper's review. I saw a picture of their coffee flight and knew I had to try it for myself. We went on a weekday and it was still pretty busy. We ended up ordering the flight ($13), a Lavender Iced Latte ($5), a Sunrise Bowl ($9) and The Original Avocado Toast ($10). You won't find the flight in the menu, but you can request it. Here are my thoughts on the individual items: Iced Oat Milk Latte - This was smooth, creamy and served unsweetened. Good flavor, but a tiny bit of sweetener would've made it even better. Violet Lemonade - Amazing! It's the perfect drink on a hot day. Delicious, if you're into floral drinks like me. Refreshing, perfectly sweet and it looks beautiful. Iced Americano - I'm not a huge black coffee fan, but I enjoyed this. It was nice and smooth, but my least favorite of the flight. Salted Vanilla Cream Cold Brew - This was so delicious, I ordered one to take home to my husband. It had great flavor, which we loved. My only complaint is that the cream to coffee ratio was a little off. Even when mixed, it was a little too much cream for such a small glass. Other than that, it was a great drink and the full size cup was made perfectly. Lavender Latte - A new favorite of mine. I've tried several lavender lattes in my time and this was by far my favorite. The coffee was smooth, the oat milk was creamy and the lavender flavor was perfectly subtle. It was a great balance and the slight sweetness was perfect. I'm already craving it again! Sunrise bowl - It was good, but the serving was pretty small for the price. It was served in a to go cup, so it wasn't picture-worthy. The granola was the star and it tasted homemade, which I enjoyed. Avocado Toast - It was your typical avocado toast, so nothing too special. I did really enjoy that it had cilantro, which I love. My sister-in-law commented that she wished the avocado was mashed, rather than sliced. Overall, the drinks stole the show. The food was okay and ingredients were really fresh, so I might give them another shot next time I'm in. Also, I'm not sure why our food was served in to go containers since we didn't request that. You might think it was due to Covid, but others in the shop had actual mugs and plates. It was likely just a misunderstanding, but it would've been nice to have been served on actual dishes. I will certainly be stopping by again for drinks in the near future as should you!

Yelp
I got the horchata latte but felt it was too strong for my liking. The breakfast sandwich was good. My major issue was that my boyfriend was served a cold coffee. They fixed it upon request. The place is nice and it's inviting for those who want to get some work done. It was filled with people working.
google avatar

Yelp
Ascension is probably the best (or one of the best) cafes in the Dallas area. They have it right in a wonderful relaxing atmosphere, good background music, excellent coffee, great food selection l, and a wonderful staff. This specific location is not as nice as their other locations (it's still nice, just not as nice) mainly because of its location, being at the bottom of a business office building. So it gives that feeling. Otherwise. Try ascension coffee, I recommend it.
google avatar

Alyssa C.

Yelp
The only reason why I am giving this place 3 stars is because I've heard so many amazing things about it here that I'm going to assume I just had a one off experience. I plan on trying another location next time to give it one more chance. My order: - Holiday flight 2/5 - bacon, cheese , egg sando on croissant 1/5 - banana bread muffin 5/5 Total Price = 29$ The holiday flight came out cold and about 5 minutes after my sandwich was given to me. I was not a fan of any of the 3 drinks which could just be a personal preference. I was super bummed because I was so excited to try this place I drove 20 minutes out of my way just to visit. My breakfast sandwich want burnt bacon and burnt croissant. It was almost not edible. Banana bred muffin was very good (according to my friend)
google avatar

Matthew H.

Yelp
Food and coffee is continuously horrible. I keep thinking it will get better but I fear the opposite is happening. There are plenty of better options in Addison. No reason to risk your meal or drink on them.
google avatar

Ben H.

Yelp
No doubt Ascension coffee is cool and trendy. I ordered an Americano and a vegetable breakfast sandwich. The coffee was OK, not as strong as I was hoping but I did enjoy the vegan breakfast sandwich. The atmosphere was chill and studious. Cool to come and chill with a book.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, coffee and pastries. Definitely choose this over Starbucks! Almond Croissant

Yelp
Ascension Addison is a tiny slice of serenity tucked inside the hubbub of busy city life and everything else Addison has to offer. I came in on a Saturday and the space was quiet, and inviting. Folks on one side of the space were enjoying their drinks and food among company while folks on the other half of the space (where there's semi-booth like seats) were clicking away on laptops. The environment felt warm and down to earth from the moment I stepped in. I met Patrick, who worked behind the counter, and he explained menu items with such wit/ humor and enthusiasm that it made the experience of being there even more charming. Eventually, I settled on a decaf cappuccino with oat milk and lavender which was a perfect balance of creamy from the milk, zesty from the espresso flavor notes that punched through, and lightly sweet from the lavender added in. While sitting on their tree shaded patio with my friend (it was an 80 degree day with a slight wind rolling through - rare for a Texas summer day), we savored our drinks and our surroundings. Check this place out! You will not be disappointed!

Katherine C.

Yelp
Delicious and crafty with a delightful coffeehouse ambiance and cheery service. Chai tea has an excellent spice!
google avatar

Kristin U.

Yelp
Started coming here for beans. We were looking for someone local and didn't want the "burnt taste" of other folks. We heard about this place from a few friends and came in to try a few bags. We've become a forever customer! I love grabbing a cup of golden milk while I'm there too. It's tumeric filled and has some kick and tastes amazing. They will ship beans if you go online so if you want to share the experience of great beans, you can do that!
google avatar

Jessica M.

Yelp
Nothing spectacular about the coffee. Food is good. Staff is amazing! Very friendly and remembers you! Not a ton of parking, but plenty of seating. Wi-fi too!
google avatar

Alyssa P.

Yelp
Cute little place! I love going to coffee places where the staff are super super friendly. This place wasn't rude but wasn't overly friendly so I was turned off! Chai latte was ok. Cranberry orange muffin was tasty They managed to make a commercial strip mall type setting feel cozy so that was a plus
google avatar

Gift O.

Yelp
Very cute coffee and sandwich shop. There are plenty tables to sit and work and they are nicely spaced. It's convenient that you can order on your phone from each table and they will bring the order out to you. There are plenty coffee and sandwich options. I got the hot salted caramel mocha latte which was great and not too sweet. The grilled cheese was massive in size and tasty. I have no complaints!
google avatar

Marcela T.

Yelp
This coffeeshop is located in a corporate building which made parking a little awkward, it seems like it's usually pretty busy considering you may need to park in the office garage. They do have parking for to-go orders which is convenient. Overall the inside is a typical craft restaurant, the menu is drawn up in a chalkboard and is overall nice. I could see myself working here on my laptop if I needed to. The coffees were really good! I know a lot of the local restaurants serve Ascension coffee so I had always been curious to try it. My boyfriend ordered a flat white which came in an 8 oz cup, and I ordered a white mocha that came in a 12 oz cup. The portions were smaller than what we're used to ordering but the taste and quality were great so I didn't mind. They have several milk options and I opted for oat milk. Good stuff! The food was good too, my boyfriend ordered the ham and cheese panini and I ordered the aussie egg and bacon roll. I felt they were a little expensive but they were tasty and filling which is good; I'm also curious to try the pastries here. Overall I enjoyed it! I definitely would come back to order more of the coffee menu :)
google avatar

Alex B.

Yelp
Simple coffee shop with an outdoor patio. There's a parking garage underneath that we utilized as there wasn't enough parking out front- might be inconvenient if you're looking to run in and out real quick. No complaints!
google avatar

Rebecca T.

Yelp
Very nice cozy spot, great for studying :) Coffee was alright though. I have been a barista for 3 years and I serve traditional coffee as well. I ordered a Cortado, never have I seen a cortado served in a cappuccino/ flat white cup. Maybe it's how they do it here, but that threw me off a bit. Cortado was also really foamy like a cappuccino, usually it's a thin foam on top but I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and accept they do it like that here. Other than that I thoroughly enjoyed it. Baristas were on their feet the whole time, keeping the lobby clean and presentable :3!!

Yelp
Great place, good people, and a overall good place to get some work done, chill, or chat.

Yelp
I frequent this location and am what some may consider a "regular". However my most recent visit will be my last. I was not banished for those wondering. Instead I received my coffee "the usual" and there be lipstick all over my cup. Someone back there made out with my coffee before giving it to me. When I went to ask them to remake it nobody was there because the entire staff left the restaurant left me alone in the shop. They came back 10 minutes later all with ice cream cones. Surprising yes
