Ascension Coffee - Fort Worth

January 13, 2026 Upon arrival, we were greeted with a smile by the host and were seated within 3 minutes or so. I've been to this spot a few times with my friend who recommended this spot. She's a regular at this spot. All the time, including the most recent time we dined here was on January 13th at noon. The food has always been scrumptious. Their lavender latte is pretty good and didn't taste like soap or bitter like a lot of places that make it wrong. The chicken flatbread was pretty good and refreshing. 5/5 On January 13th, I had their migas, and it was so fresh and delicious. All the flavors and everything on the plate went well. I usually don't like my savory food mixed with sweet, but their sweet potatoes and sauce were a perfect combination. Mad props to the chef or whoever came up with this dish. I am a fan of this dish for sure. I also ordered their winter flight, which consisted of Sunrise date latte, Pear Thee Well, and Snow-Jicha. They all had their unique flavors were unique. It was a good flight, especially for people who are into matcha or 5 drinks, since hojicha is similar in texture to matcha. My friend had a soup and an iced tea that she really liked. She had stopped by for a coffee drink this morning before we met up for lunch. The atmosphere is always lively with people having conversations etc. This is a great spot to check out because all the times we've dined here their food has been consistently on point. If you have yet to give them a try, I highly recommend you do.

I love coming here! It’s not my first time, but it’s the first time I actually took pictures. Every visit, I’m just digging in because the food is always delicious. The coffee options are great (even for someone who’s not a big coffee drinker like me) and the service is top-notch. Parking isn’t too bad, and you can always find a spot in the garage. When it’s not scorching, the patio is perfect. I’ll definitely be back again and again!

Never had a bad experience here. The biscuits with the raspberry compote are some of the best I’ve ever had. The food is fresh and delicious, and the coffee tastes robust and smooth. Teresa is my favorite waitress! She makes us feel welcome and is always smiling. We love coming here for brunch!

One small hiccup with the junior hostess, but Sandra saved the day. Lacy was warm and welcoming as always with her top notch service.

Went with a friend we both loved and enjoyed it a lot the scenery is right on Trinity River so you can see the runners and water while eating outside or you can stay in😀. Food was good as well for a nice brunch if you like that sort of deal and the area has little stores all round it if you wanna walk around and shop. Also we stay on the north side of fort Worth from there it was 10 mins so not far at all😁 It was a good time👍

I have no idea what happened to my previous review of this restaurant. It’s a shame because I had so many photos to prove how wonderful this place is. You can’t get much better when it comes to restaurant location then can say. It’s right off the river, which is perfect for sitting outside on the patio. Their service is hit or miss. I feel like they have their worst waiters servicing the outside, but its not bad enough to not go!. I’ve come here multiple times and every single time the food and drinks are great; unfortunately i only have a few photos from the last visit.

Great coffee shop located right on the river. Fantastic coffee & iced tea. Great location. We will be back!

A favorite spot- we’ve been to both the Dallas and Fort Worth locations and Fort Worth is our favorite! Amazing little spot on the river, delicious food and delicious coffee. Great ambience and excellent service.

It's hard to find places that take reservations for brunch for a large group, but Ascension exceeded expectations! Arrived to find our table ready to go and staff eager to serve. Miles was our server and he nailed it. Speedy, courteous, and he gave great recommendations. Best Horchata Latte in the metroplex and a great value for the generous portions! Brunch perfection! Put it on your list and be sure to ask for Miles!!

Hey the service here is pretty terrible. To be ignored by the staff is infuriating. They will just walk back & forth without a "Hey I'll be right with you". Also be expected to wait a while, doesn't matter how busy.

food quality are great ...But they need to put more effort on the process to receive and seating customers .. one day they told me my waiting time was hour and half with more than ten tables un occupied and dirty...

Such a cute place along the river! My friend took me and another friend to this place while visiting Fort Worth, and we all enjoyed our food. I got the Steak Hash, it was so delicious! And my friends got the Turkey Club and the Mediterranean Chicken Wrap! Our server was lovely! If it was cooler out, we totally would have sat outside to see the view of the river! Would definitely be going back next time I'm in Fort Worth! The pictures I've added are the Steak Hash and the Mediterranean Chicken Wrap!

Check out the clearfork trails before or after to walk off the delicious food and drinks. Definitely worth trying their espresso martini flight; they have multiple options to choose from. we tried the classic , blood orange, and white chocolate. They have a variety of bowls that are super fresh and healthy and the service was excellent. An experience that my girlfriend and I will remember forever!

Miles was an exceptional server. We sat on the patio which sadly they removed the umbrellas so the sun was quite harsh. I got a lavender lemonade and it was very sweet - I believe the lavender syrup tasted synthetic instead of naturally flavored.

This place can get super busy! But the view outside and chill vibes inside are worth it on a weekday. The cappuccino is good and they have good salads!

We arrive at 8a and were immediately greeted and sat at a table. Our waitress was friendly and a little quirky, in a good way. The food was solid and the drinks were fresh. We enjoyed our visit and would go back again!

Oh how I wanted to give this place a 5. Sooo close! The coffee was amazing - so delicious!! I'm not usually a cold coffee guy - but the flight was smooth and tasty. Eating by the river on a beautiful day was extraordinary. And if you're a people watcher - no better place!! The wait was totally reasonable on a Saturday morning for brunch. Food was yummy. The breakfast potatoes were especially delectable. But the eggs on both dishes we ordered were cold. Not cold like 'oh it took a minute to get this to the table'. Cold like 'we took these out of the fridge and put them on the plate and forgot to heat them up.' (The only reason they're getting a 4 instead of a 5.)

I have been here a few times just to get a coffee drink before work or during lunch break, and every time, it takes so long that I am either late to work or rushing out. I am always polite about it and I always try to come back and give it the benefit of the doubt, but it was this last time today that I had to write a review. I came in, no line at all, stood at the counter for what seemed like an eternity, got passed by multiple employees, and even looked directly at the staff making drinks to see if they could get my attention and nobody seemed to want to work. Even a person that looked like management walked right past me and started talking to another employee without even acknowledging me. No one ever asked to take my order or if I've been helped. I just left and went to Mamaka, even though I wanted a specific drink from Ascension. I hate that this is one of only two options for coffee in this plaza when I am at work, as I can't even get a quick coffee from them and have to use my entire lunch break to get a simple drink. I like the drinks here better than Mamaka, but don't want to spend 30 minutes waiting for it. They need to do better.

If you're looking for a perfect coffee spot in Fort Worth, Ascension Coffee delivers a fantastic experience! From the moment I walked in, the vibe was warm, stylish, and welcoming--great for a morning caffeine fix. It absolutely gets busy by mid morning on the weekends. Brunch is a hit. I usually sit on the patio and enjoy watching the runners on the trail. Definitely suggest checking in online ahead of your visit. Ascension is located right along the Trinity trail in a shopping center. Parking can be tricky on a busy weekend. The staff is friendly and they are 100% busy. Food is good and the coffee is also good. Brunch brunch brunch. Go for brunch!!

Horrible. Food: Breakfast sandwich, (basic) side of potatoes (good), chia pudding (nice). Service: ABSOLUTELY slow and a good example of why not to tip the min18% but did because this is a livelihood for the food server. Food prep: 2 baristas were chaotic. Waited for a to-go coffee for 20 mins after finishing our meal. Had to be asked TWICE to make it while we finally waited at the counter. Vibe: nice decor with outside seating which manager didn't want to open umbrellas outside. Not going back.

Loved the lavender latte that I got ! Staff was very friendly and also good in helping me decide what I wanted to try. Lots of places to sit inside and out and the view outside is great of the river. Great hang out for coffee , wine, food and catching up with friends.

Disappointed. Food was average. Service below average. Waitress Paige was smug and condescending. Assistant manager " Liv" was unbelievably rude and generally clueless. She needs to be retrained and start over at the busgirl position . The general lack of customer service was baffling. It was like letting kindergarteners run a school!! It wasn't that busy , so imagine the service on a busy morning? Such a good location and business model, such poor service.

Everything tastes so fresh and good. Came here for a birthday lunch and the menu almost overwhelmed me with so many options. First time here and definitely think I chose right. The brunch burger was delicious and the chicken sandwich was cooked really well. I will be back to try more options.

Food is great and the service is excellent! We had an amazing experience. The only thing (which is not a problem) you have to go to yelp and add your name to the waitlist otherwise your wait will be very long. Besides that the food is tasty and fresh and the service is excellent.

Cute spot by the river for brunch/lunch/coffee. We stopped by for lunch on a weekday, and we were happy that we could sit at the patio with our dog. Food came out quick and I found the portion was big. Enjoyed my ham and cheese melt, and other food on the menu looked good too.

Love this place! All the brunch items are delicious. Sometimes specific items on the normal menu are unavailable though, which is a bummer. Seasonal drinks are always worth it. Just go into it expecting there to be a wait for a table.

I've come into this location a couple times now. It is very trendy and always super busy! The actual coffee shop portion is the back and the rest of the space is a full restaurant. I have only come in for coffee so can't judge the food. Over the summer I enjoyed a white bloom latte iced and loved the flavors, very smooth and perfect for me to take along to the zoo! Such a great location on the Trinity though parking can be a bit difficult.

Killer coffee, staff was very nice to me but decided to have attitude and speak down to my wife when she went back inside alone attempting to purchase a WATER for our 3 year old. We aren't locals, we thought it was just regular coffee shop. I don't think a bunch of walking bad attitudes with septum rings being rude to new customers is a great business model. If you're a cute girl/woman that doesn't look like an art major..........make sure you have the rules and regulations of Ascension memorized or be prepared to be treated poorly. Cheers!

Everything from service to food is always great, favorite breakfast spot only thing they need to do is bring back the umbrellas outside!

Amazing food, if not a little fancier than your regular brunch spot (my food was topped with feta instead of shredded cheese). I got the classic cold brew and the Migas, both were delicious! We had a great waiter who was very kind and helpful. We will be back!

Great food with lots of allergy friendly options (I have celiac). Delicious coffee and cocktail options and service is always wonderful. Can get a bit loud but lovely views of the river.

Came here for Saturday morning breakfast and had a good experience! I ordered a lavender latte with oat milk and it was pretty good, not as strong as I would have liked. I ordered the bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich on an everything bagel. The bagel would have been better if it was not as chewy as it was but I added some cream cheese and it helped. The restaurant was cute and had a good atmosphere.

I was pleasantly surprised by my recent visit to Ascension coffee! Me and some friends gave it a try for brunch. This is in a hip shopping area on the Trinity River. Parking was tricky, but there is free valet parking. We did have to wait to be seated, but they have seating areas outside until your table is ready. Ascension has a pretty good menu for a place that has COFFEE as the main signage outside. I had no idea of the various beverages and food items they offer. This is not just a cute spot though, my food was terrific! I had the avocado toast with poached eggs, a side of crispy bacon, and a carafe of mimosas. The avocado toast was perfectly made, the poached eggs were cooked to perfection, my bacon was crispy just as I requested, and the mimosas were tasty! The restaurant itself was brightly lit, clean, and inviting. The service was outstanding! The server did not miss a heartbeat! Outstanding! We will definitely be returning!

I really enjoy this spot. I love that it's on the river and has indoor and outdoor seating. You can do a girl's brunch, a coffee date or even plug in and work. It's spacious enough but can get very busy! Staff and servers are very nice and helpful with guiding you on menu items or recommendations on a coffee. The original avocado toast and a latte are my go to!

Ascension is so special to my husband and I. As a nod to how my husband proposed, we had our wedding rehearsal at Ascension and the staff was phenomenal. They were extremely helpful and responsive and bent over backwards to make the evening unforgettable. Cannot recommend them enough!

I honestly love Ascension. The food is really great- and the patio...SWOON! Bring your doggo and enjoy some coffee and pancakes on the river. How could your day start any better?

Food was good but beware. We went for their plant based chorizo but they were out. We don't eat pork but they refused to substitute with chicken or even find another solution. So we went with a chicken sandwich and they up charged me $2 for arugula, $2 for tomato slices, and $1 for onion. I also got a side of toast, and they up charged me for the type of toast I got. Won't be returning.

Ascension is one of the best coffee shops in the area! Incredible food, incredible beverages, and really great service. Service can be a bit slow because this place gets packed, but everyone that works there is absolutely wonderful!!

I was feeling adventurous and decided to have brunch at a new place in a different part of town than I normally frequent. I'm glad I put myself on the waitlist before heading in because even for a party of 1 the wait for a table was about 20 min around 1030am on a Sunday morning. Despite there being little to no room to wait before being seated the restaurant overall had a great vibe to it. I was able to comfortably read a book while waiting for my coffee and food. The waitress I had was very attentive and was prompt with everything. I tried the seasonal coffee flavor - Mocha Amaretto - and ordered it iced since it was already 90 degrees outside. It was amazing and I would love to try it hot sometime. I ordered the Avocado Toast and it was good but it wasn't the greatest thing I've eaten either. The poached eggs were cooked really well. Overall, this is a place I would definitely return to.

I got the chicken Caesar salad wrap and it was so good. Filled with a good amount of kale so it tasted fresh and I enjoyed the dipping sauce. I also got a hot vanilla latte which was beautiful and I loved learning that they have an emphasis in buying coffee from women owned farmers!!

My family of four visited Ascension Coffee on a cold Sunday morning in April. We were delighted there was not a wait to get a table. The service was very friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. The buttermilk pancakes were a stand out as were the migas and the fried chicken sandwich. The coffee was also first rate and the free refill was a lovely surprise. The setting is gorgeous -- right on the water. It was too cold for us to sit outside but the inside is very nicely decorated and comfortable. The only reason why we are giving 4 stars is the food was quite slow to come out, especially since the place was not packed. But would recommend if you are not on a short timeline.

The food was great! They have so many hearty and yummy options. However, their espresso machine was broken, they couldn't serve me a golden milk latte hot (only cold), and they were out of Doki Doki (Japanese coffee). So that was disappointing and it seemed like they were going through it. Also, the hostess didn't walk me to my table or give me any menus. She just pointed to the table and told me over there so that was odd. When our waitress came to the table she apologized and gave us menus. She was really sweet. Two gentlemen at the table next to me sat down (also not escorted) and then just got up a couple of minutes later because no one came to attend to them. On the other side, a lot of people were enjoying themselves and one large table was even celebrating a birthday! Which is odd because I think their restaurant is super small and could use some more room. Overall, there were some missteps but it was a fine experience and the food was very nice.

Upon walking in there is not a clear distinction to walk up ordering or restaurant ordering. I was excited to try this place due to reviews I read. Ounce I figured out the correct place to order I got an iced americano, blueberry muffin and bagel bacon and egg with no cheese on an everything bagel. The ambiance is new and welcoming with a good view. The americano was nothing special but meet the need if you just want a basic drink. As for the sandwich I was disappointed when I got to work and the bagel was plain....along with smothered eggs in a sauce spread. The bacon was good I will say and without the sauce would be better. All in all Ascension Coffee seems more like a coffee shop with a great view to visit more than the food and coffee.

Amazing! My daughter and I just had brunch there for Mother's Day and it could not have gone smoother. We did not have a reservation but Sandra (hostess) did not miss a beat. She noticed how a couple skipped the line to check in before us but didn't say a thing to us or to them and simply accommodated us. Then Theresa took over and was super attentive and charming with her service. She even held her cool when a table of 2 couples and 8 kids were a bit much. Thank you ladies!

If you know.. you know. The location is both very pretty and kind of tricky to find. It is basically next to the Macy's in the back. The service was excellent. The atmosphere was cozy. We have been to this shopping center bunches of times and had no idea what a gem was nestled in the corner. We started off with two handcrafted coffees.. yum. Then I got the biscuits and gravy and SH got a steak sandwich and soup. We both really enjoyed our drinks and food. WARNING... Do not get the biscuits and gravy wearing your tight pants!!

I LOVE LOVE LOVEEE THIS PLACE!! I wanna come here everyday. The coffee and drink selection is broad and creative. I love the shroom latte but have had so many others and all are good. The food is good but their best item is the asian noodle bowl. Everyone's favorite. Best tasting thing ever. One thing I'll say is when it gets busy, the booths are not ideal because you're crammed in with other people and it's hard to hear, but they have more spacious options. The food and drinks and vibe are just the best I love it here.

Solid spot with great coffee and food! The Ruben is pretty good but my go to is the eggs Benedict with sweet potato hash from the all day breakfast menu. The location is perfect with nice views of the trinity river from the patio.

Ordered a Ascension Brewed Coffee for $4. The cup was 50% full and the coffee was old/burnt from being over warmed. Staff could not have cared less. Didn't apologize. Looked at me as if I was the one that was crazy and had the problem. Moving on and not returning.

Yuummy! Loved my omelette and golden milk latte. A couple of gluten free options, will definitely return.
