I don’t even know where to start—that’s how incredible everything was at Ascione. From the food to the service to the ambiance, every detail was on point. The restaurant is absolutely gorgeous with a cozy, tucked-away patio. Our server Jose was the best—so attentive, friendly, and full of great recommendations (which we’re so glad we took!). The rest of the staff were just as wonderful. Food and drinks? So good. And don’t even get me started on the desserts! On our way out, the manager Danny stopped by to check in, and I had to let him know how amazing the experience was. I’ll definitely be back. Such a great addition to downtown Skokie!

We’ve been to this place to celebrate birthday. It looks very cozy and aesthetic, nice Italian restaurant. To be honest there are not much restaurants with really good Italian cuisine in Chicago, but this place surprised me in a good way. I was passing by this corner so many times, but never noticed it. It’s located on the intersection of Lincoln Ave and Oakton. I had fettucine alfredo with shrimps and strawberry cocktail, it was so delicious. Will definitely go there again.

I recently went to Ascione Bistro & Bar in Skokie for dinner, and it was a fantastic experience! The restaurant boasts a chic and sophisticated ambiance with a great location. The food was absolutely delicious, and the valet parking made the whole experience seamless. They also have a very nice bar, which adds to the overall charm. Walked in on a Monday late afternoon and there were plenty of open seating. Dined at the bar and enjoyed the happy hour cocktails. The branzino is better grilled but it’s preference. Loved everything else we ordered and the ambience. Really fresh. Alejandra was great at tending to us. Already recommended to friends and family. Will be back!

Excellent new spot in downtown Skokie! Grew up in Skokie and went there when it was Desiree (aging myself :-) ), this restaurant does the location proud. A much needed addition to the area. Staff was friendly and attentive. Food was delicious and although some dishes were not portioned relative to the cost, I think that's par for the course in this economy. Also, although the others didn't hit right the Spritz Limoncello was perfect for a summer night. As a perk they have free valet. Excited to go back and try their brunch!

We were so excited that Ascione finally opened! We went on the third day of opening and we were seated right away. It is beautiful inside and so cozy. They were so attentive to us and even had us sample some appetizers. They were presented impeccably and were also so good. The cocktails all sounded so good too so it was hard to choose but the passion mule was so yummy. We got the special of the day which was a delicious gnocchi and the lobster bisque was very flavorful. We also gobbled up the tiramisu so quickly. So happy to have them in Skokie!

Ascione Bistro in Skokie is a standout spot for lunch — refined yet welcoming. The raspberry sour was perfectly balanced, refreshing, and a great way to start the meal. I had the steak frites, which were executed flawlessly: tender, flavorful steak with crispy, golden fries. The fettuccine Alfredo was rich and silky without being heavy, and the Caesar salad was fresh, crisp, and clearly made with care. Service was attentive without being overbearing, and the space has a warm, relaxed charm. Ascione delivers quality and consistency in every detail — a true gem in downtown Skokie.

The food and drinks were absolutely buzzing! The portions were huge, I could barely finish my meal, but every bite was delicious. The drinks were strong and hit just the right vibe. I definitely loved the experience!

If you like to indulge in traditional Italian cuisine, and you're in the Skokie area, Ascione Bistro is the place for you. The food is phenomenal and the service is second to none. Ask for Daniel, the general manager, he will make sure you have the best time in a long time.

Absolutely amazing! The smash burger was juicy with crispy edges, melted cheese, and the perfect bun. The Italian fries were next-level -- crispy, garlicky, and loaded with parmesan and herbs. Flavor in every bite. I'll definitely be back!

We were this restaurant's first customers ever for lunch. We will not be its last. Everything was perfectly delicious and elegantly served. The ambience made us feel like we had to be royalty to be allowed inside, but we were treated as if they had known us since childhood. We were not so hungry so we just ordered an arancini appetizer and lobster ravioli with coffees. The bread that they placed on the table was warm, crispy and sweet. So was the biscotti drizzled with chocolate sauce. Amazing place with a jazzy Italian flair and oozing with kindness!

My family and I would have given this place 6 stars if possible. My wife said it felt like she was eating in an upscale New York City restaurant. Our server was quite knowledgeable about the menu and made great recommendations. What really made this place special was the attention to detail in the service. Our water glasses were never empty. Our server "decrumbed" the table between courses, the silverware was replaced between courses, and the pace of the meal was perfect. The food was excellent, we highly recommend the Branzino and the Chicken Parmigiana. The Crème Brûlée and the Flourless Mousse were delicious, as well.

Food and service were excellent. We came as walk-ins and they sat us at the bar immediately. Service was prompt and courteous. Ambiance is nice, lychee martini is on point! We shared the burrata to start, lobster ravioli w/ fries for dinner all excellent! Highly recommend and will come back with reservations next time.

Unconventional Italian fare presented elegantly. Glad to have a fine dining restaurant in downtown Skokie, a shorter walk for me than Mia Francesca in Lincolnwood (which offers a similar menu). As a newly opened place that people have yet to discover, the staff was very attentive and eager to please. My pasta dish was tasty but what really impressed me was the steak my husband ordered. It was a perfectly prepared medium rare - Capital Grille couldn't have done better. The meat was high quality, tender with the right amount of marbling. Not a long list of appetizers, desserts and wines but a fairly good selection. My only comment on ambiance is the music seemed a bit too raucous. Better to have some Euro pop/jazz to match the unconventional but classy cuisine

Service was very good. The food was mediocre. The seafood was well prepared. The chicken and skirt steak was tough. They are new and seem to be trying.

Took a while to open and definitely worth the wait. A beautiful and large bar area that you can eat at as well as a spacious dining room. It was very busy but seated promptly for a 7PM reservation. The service, food, and ambiance were all spot on. All in all a very welcome addition to downtown Skokie.

It is a lovely restaurant in the heart of downtown Skokie. The ambiance here is great! The staff is very nice, accommodating, and friendly. The food was exquisite, and the chef was excellent! He gave us some complimentary appetizers to try! Overall, our experience was terrific!

Brought my grandson for his 20th birthday. Friendly & attentive staff, great food, service not rushed. Enjoy the ambiance. A great addition to the neighborhood. Valet parking on the Oakton side though usually plenty of parking around. Looking forward to becoming a regular. Special shoutout to the chef(s). The food is wonderful, with generous portions as well as the nice presentation. Multiple seating options. Great place for families, date night, enjoying a night out.

Ascione arguably has the best crab cakes in all Chicago. I also had the Pappardelle pasta which was such a generous portion with a rich delicious wild boar and mushroom ragout, it totally hit the spot. Loved everything

This place has amazing service and was very good. I felt the lobster risotto was overrated a bit...but everything else was very good.

The atmosphere strikes the perfect balance between elegant and inviting--warm lighting, tasteful décor. What really gave this evening a touch was our amazing bartender Alejandra. She gave amazing recommendations as for drinks and food, and was so attentive throughout, so kind. The service, the food, and also Daniel made it an unforgettable experience! So eager to return already! Highly recommend. Thank you for an amazing night!

Disappointing Birthday Lunch - All Hype, No Substance We were the only table there for a Tuesday lunch--already a red flag. The service was mediocre, and the food? Overrated. The owner must be a marketing genius, maybe hosting some tasting events for foodie influencers KOL to rack up those five-star reviews. The place runs on hype, not quality. This is not an authentic Italian restaurant. Take their "tiramisu"--drowned in thick whipped cream, completely missing the point. Real tiramisu is a delicate balance of bitter espresso, sweet mascarpone, and espresso-soaked ladyfingers. No cream, no gelatin, no sponge cake. This was a sad knockoff. The rest of the meal was just as underwhelming: the soup of the day The cream of mushroom soup was just OK. Linguine ai Frutti di Mare Overcooked seafood (only 3 shrimp, 6 mussels--one iffy--and a few tiny clams). The creamy tomato pasta sauce was bland and watery. Smash burger was over-salted.（maybe to push drinks?). Even the fries were too salty to finish. At best, the food was mediocre. At worst, it felt like a scam. Save your money.

Outstanding service at the bar, outstanding value for steak frites, the beef quality for the dollar was amazing and the size plentiful, covered in herb butter and roasted garlic and fresh rosemary and served with great seasoned fries. The branzino was also perfect and rich. Perfect for a "bistro" experience. Will definitely return. The cocktails are rather standard for the price, and the soup and salad are "fine" but that's all forgivable when you get to the mains. Great ambience both comfortable and refined. Lovely place for a conversation with friends. I'm definitely coming back to find out if that smash burger and a beer is the steal from f the century.

Ascione has arrived, and it was well worth the wait! We arrived on opening night and were treated like family members. We were immediately greeted by the general manager, Danny, as soon as we walked through the door. The inside is absolutely stunning. The lighting is wonderful, and besides regular table seating, there are groupings of comfortable couches and chairs. It was sparkling clean. There is also a very impressive amount of bar seating, which we chose, and were immediately greeted by Brittany, our hostess. The televisions in the bar area were so well positioned, we didn't notice them for quite some time. Our bartender, Ale, was exceptional. She was beautiful, both inside and out. What a lovely reflection on Ascione. She did not miss a beat. As former restaurant owners, we were impressed by her bartending and serving skills, attentiveness, and awesome personality. We enjoyed her hand crafted cocktails so much, we decided to dine at the bar. Our entrees were simply extraordinary. We enjoyed the lobster risotto and the short rib and lamb chop dinners. The portions were simply amazing. The accompanying potatoes and vegetables were a favorite. The seasoning and presentation were excellent. We were also greeted by Aaron, our wait staff. He was particularly fun and competent and helped make our evening very enjoyable. There is also a dessert for every craving. We loved the Creme Brûlée! We will be returning next week as there were so many entrees we would like to try. See you then! ~On a side note, free valet parking is available.

Excellent food, great service, reasonable prices and great location on corner of Lincoln and Oakton. Valet parking available but street parking is also good. Brand new restaurant offering in downtown Skokie with higher end ambiance.. The calamari was perfectly done, not rubbery and it was delish as was the meatball app. Menu isn't huge but gives plenty of options to cover pretty much every taste without being overwhelming. Can't wait to try the smash burger which apparently is a new item from its Hyde Park location. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Such an enjoyable experience! All.of the staff is friendly and helpful. The timing of the coursing was terrific. One of the most memorable meals in a long time.

We enjoyed an amazing evening at this new gem in Skokie! We were lucky enough to wander in during their first week of being open, but you never would have known it! Everything ran like clockwork! Every employee that crossed our path was friendly and knowledgeable. The space is absolutely stunning with several different areas of seating, from fireplace cozy couches to classy wingback chairs and velvet booths. The ambience is so warm and inviting. Our server was very helpful in recommendations as it was difficult to decide with so many appealing choices on the menu, you just can't go wrong! The wine list and cocktails are plentiful as well. I would highly recommend this place for a classy night out! If you happen to be in the Hyde Park neighborhood, check out their other location as well! You won't be disappointed!

Ascione in Hyde Park is one of my favorite restaurants, and Ascione in Skokie takes their amazing food and adds a beautiful location. My favorites are the branzino, arancini, and crab cakes, but everything on the menu is good.

After waiting years for this restaurant to open it finally happened May 28, 2025. We made a reservation and arrived at 6:15 PM Saturday May 31, 2025. We were greeted by a friendly hostess and we were promptly seated near the open kitchen by request. Our waiter was excellent, giving us plenty of time to consider the menu. We ordered wine and calamari as an appetizer. Splitting the tasty wedge salad and the ordered dinner. There are many delicious offerings. We settled on the chicken Parmigiana, Salmone and our friends both had the lobster risotto. We all raved about how delicious each course had been. The gelato dessert along with coffee capped off a delightful evening. We were never rushed and the service was great, especially considering this was day three. We will definitely return especially because this fine dining restaurant is walking distance from our home. Stefani Prime, lookout you finally have got local competition.

No fan of the village of Skokie and its backwards, so-called progressive politics, but this is exactly the type of establishment we need to see. Wonderful meal and decent service (sat a the bar). The only problem I had, and problem may be too strong of a word, is the restaurant is loud. Really loud. Unnecessarily loud. Hopefully, ownership can do something to fine tune the acoustics.
