"Situated along the Duck River, Asgard Brewery prides itself on using locally sourced ingredients to brew its selection of hoppy IPAs, rich stouts, crisp lagers, and sweet meads. In addition to its taproom offerings, Asgard Brewery also plays an active role in supporting the local community through partnerships with local businesses, charities, and events. The location is dog-friendly, so bring your pup and enjoy a pint on their outdoor patio with some of the sandwiches, soups, and burgers from its new food truck, Eat Columbia." - Chanel Rene, Jackie Gutierrez-Jones

The Belgian Porter is fantastic, my husband was a little less enthusiastic about the Vestri IPA. Beer is definitely personal to pallet so don’t let opinions on beer decide. The location is nice, gorgeous brick walls inside. The buildings of Columbia are gorgeous & unique. And DOG friendly. Super happy our pup had some AC … it gets hot out.

Google
A great place to stop in and hangout for a couple drinks! Great beers and cider. Bartender was pleasant to chat with. If you get a chance try the Belgian porter with the root beer! We asked the bartender what his favorite drink was here and he made one for us and that was definitely a winner for me.

Google
Asgard Brewing Co. is a fine example of a popular local spot that somehow remains under the radar. There are a wide array of different styles available under their own brand, but Asgard also carries a solid Belgian selection in the fridges next to the bar. The bartenders are knowledgeable with their products and very willing to offer suggestions/recommendations for your next pint. Food trucks are readily available outside for patrons with the munchies, but you'll want to retreat back inside to enjoy the good vibes. I'm not able to get here as often as I'd like, but it's always a wunderbar time. Highly recommend this gem. Skål!

Google
Great bar with a great selection of beer made on site. Separate live entertainment area with ample seating inside and out on the patio. Parking is in the adjacent lots.

Google
Great time here! Pet friend good selection of beers. I think some outside music would be nice on days they don't have live music would be nice.

Google
Hubby loved the marzen which is similar to an octoberfest. We enjoyed sitting on the patio and got food from the food truck. I don’t know how often they have food trucks. I don’t like beer so I wish they had some more options for those of us who don’t like beer.

After a long day on the freeway we made a trip into Columbia for a brew and some dinner at Asgard. The food truck was serving tacos and burgers and the beer was spot on, great tasting and good assortment. Asgard brews holds their own alongside the guest taps it also features. The bartender was great, making our visit both pleasant and memorable.

Google
Great beers and fun people. Love the Norse mythology beer names. Try the Skipskatt - Great Octoberfest beer. It is right next to the river as well. Best fun in Columbia! John Kater is an amazing brewer and full of fascinating trivia.

Yelp
Unfortunately the quality of the beer has gone downhill. No mead, and many of their other formally good beers are gone. The worst part is the redesign is the main area. Round tables instead of long communal tables that allowed you to meet people and play occasional games. Nearly impossible to navigate. The setup borderlines on idiotic as half the people have their backs to the band because of the use of the round tables. They put up walls to block the brewing area which makes it feel claustrophobic. Classic case of "don't fix it if it isn't broken". Awful redesign and now marginal beer at best. Sad to see the changes. Honestly, someone wasn't thinking. Still a large crowd, but a lot of complaint about the now cramped space.

Yelp
Be sure to watch your credit card statement here. At the end of getting two drinks the bartender stated there was no paperwork needed, no receipt to sign and no receipt provided. The bar then went on to add an extra $5 to the tab on a $12 purchase.

Yelp
Stopped in and had a couple of flights. I liked most of the beer I tried and the bartender was very helpful. I will definitely be back! They are also dog friendly. Great place and plenty of seating. I wish it was in Clarksville

Yelp
Great vibes!! This a great hangout spot. They usually have a food truck outside and will have a fire pit out when it's chilly! The beer is great too! We went on New Years Eve. They had Muletown Pizza outside so we grabbed a pizza and some beers and enjoyed the nice weather! Will definitely be back!

Yelp
Stopped in for a few local beers during our last trip to Columbia. I absolutely loved the beer I chose. I really, really could have sat there for hours just hanging. Great vibes, good music playing, and our bartender was super friendly. I had the Ship in a Bottle, which was an oatmeal stout but surprisingly not too heavy. I can't wait to return and try more beers!

Yelp
Wifey in town on a much needed driving escape from reality and C19. We found Asgard by accident as we were drinking through Columbia - and oh so happy we did. Asgard is an easy 5* for: + lots of draft and bottle beer choices. Asgard had their locally made 5 on tap and about 10 more from Tn and surrounding state. It was a really good mix of dark, IPA's, Saison, Gose, Sours, Mead .... Really great mix - and so many bottle choices too. + great tap room - cozy, cooled, and comfortable vibe. + super customer service - bar keep was nice and had great conversations with her as we tasted. No issue with splash tastes and she was very knowledgeable. + very nice to our doggy - she cane inside with us and immediately given water and made to feel at home + bonus one of the brewers came out to taste one of their sour bottle offerings (Old # 11). He graciously offered my wife and I a glass to enjoy from his bottle - it was great! I highly recommend Asgard!

Yelp
This place was cool. Small, great vibe and a lot of beers/cider to try. I had the Voyager, my wife and SIL had the Zombie Killer and my BIL had the Oktoberfest. We all enjoyed our drinks very much. Great place.

Jonathan M.

Yelp
Nice brewery, great options and really cool atmosphere! Had a real good mix of IPAs, Stouts and Ciders! All in all my favorite was the West Coast IPA but my wife's Zombie Ciber was really tasty. Only thing is I wish there were more dart boards or stuff to do while I enjoyed the amazing brews!

Yelp
This place gets an "eh" from me. Beers weren't too unique, and they made me redeem all 4 of my Groupon beers at once (instead of letting my group order 2 now and 2 later). Also, the embroidered pint glasses they give you are the same ones they use for serving beer, so they're basically giving you old used pint glasses. One of the glasses they gave me has the logo already partially worn off, but I'm not going to bother driving the hour back to Columbia each way just to have them replace one used glass with another. Beers were fine, atmosphere was fine, just not much to it. Maybe if they did the execution / customer service on the Groupon better I might consider 3 or 4 stars. Probably won't bother making the stop out here in the future

Yelp
Know what I like the best about this place....not a single TV anywhere to be found. That sort of forces you to interact with other patrons and I always meet new and interesting people whenever I visit. Very cool boutique microbrewery in downtown Columbia and set along the banks of the mighty Duck River. Asgard has an incredible selection of house craft brews that you can take home in cans or growlers, but the main draw here is the menu...143 beers. Yes, you heard me...a HUNERT N FORTY THREE BEERS! I've been searching high and low for this Schneider Aventinus so I was pleasantly surprised to find it was a new addition to the menu. Inside its an intimate closed quarters setting with more seating streetside, No kitchen but the food truck is here 2-3 days a week, maybe more when there's not a global contagion lurking in the air. Great people here, excellent service and they are all very knowledgeable and ready with advice for professional beer drinkers as well as the uninitiated. Asgard is a can't miss stop while in Columbia, its walking distance to the town square and a number of excellent restaurants that I hope will be allowed to reopen soon. My only peeve is that the beer menu isn't posted on their website. When that gets fixed I'll complete that row of stars up there. 4 Kegs

Yelp
Have been here a couple of times. Great staff who wants to educate you on the different beers. Very good selection to choose from. They have different food trucks come by to offer you some food options.

Kevin B.

Yelp
Asgard is a fun brewery overall and we really enjoyed our time here this past weekend. They had 4 house brews on tap and we got to try them all. They were pretty good overall and very affordable for a draft or growler. The guest brews were even better and they have an excellent selection of draft beers and bottles, particularly Belgian brews. They have lots of seating inside and outside and they often have food trucks, which is great since they don't have a kitchen. We were here for the Feathers and Fins food truck, which was excellent overall. It's a fun place to visit and we really liked it!

Yelp
I've dined with the gods! Well it was a chilly dog and beer with Mike the bartender.... but.. close enough! A great motorcycle ride to a charming place! Cool shop, great beer and fascinating folks to bend an elbow with at the bar. I sampled beer after well crafted beer and chatted with a great mix of patrons, not a bad way to spend a few hours in a nice little town by the Duck River. Go, enjoy, relax!

Yelp
I bounced back and forth on ratings on this one (between 3 and 5) and settled on the middle. In Columbia (don't get there often), I might see this as even higher, but I think I will leave it here. The place I went to is very small, although I understand they are moving across the street into a bit larger digs. There might be food, but if so it is from a local bakery (if they have pretzels available, and you like fluffy baked pretzels, definitely get one). I got here as I was down in Columbia playing a game called Ingress. This really adds nothing to the story, except I felt I wanted a cold craft beer and found Asgard (only microbrewery in town - beer currently brewed off premise). T.J. was bartending and I sat down with some locals and had a nice conversation. I definitely felt at home. I planned on one and stayed for two. Currently the taps are mostly other people's beer, but that is normal in start up mode (Tailgate was similar when they opened in west Nashville). I had a taste of all three options and settled first for the pale ale (Heimdahllr), which was a bit different than a US style pale, but very tasty. My second was the Huggin Porter, which is also unique. I took the three samples and mixed them together and they actually made a very nice mix (not sure you can order beer there this way, however). What I really like (the 5 side of the equation): Nice, friendly atmosphere. Outside seating. Having conversation with the bartender and regulars. Kind of felt like Cheers (TV show, not the high priced bar). What I think is more average (3 star)? The beer, but this may be the lack of my taste aligning with the Icelandic styles.

Yelp
This brewery is a great little place! I ordered the mango beer which was so crisp and delicious. This brewery supports local Tennessee brews and snacks! The only downfall is that the place is really small so if you want to sit inside then you must get there early. I sat outside under an umbrella table, which provided shade, so it wasn't too bad! Overall great atmosphere!

Lauren S.

Yelp
This is the place to go if you want a unique selection of beers, in a friendly laid back atmosphere. On chilly evening you can sit outside in front of a fire pit and almost every night you they have a different food truck where you can try Lobster rolls one night, coney dogs the next and BBQ another night! This is one of our favorite neighborhood places in town!

Bailey M.

Yelp
Always a great and fun experience. Love the slections list of beer. The atmosphere is amazing. And the food trucks are the icing on the cake!

Yelp
Great place, great beers, but gonna be a bit rough on them. First, their house brewed beers are really quite good. They had a pale ale, a wit, and a porter when I visited. All three were good beers for their types. The pale and the wit were exceptionally good beers. Highly recommend. The real draw, however, are the truly world class drafts on rotation. Fin du Monde and Einstok are two world renown beers neither of which I've observed on taps in all my travels. They had probably 20 taps of a wide range of noteworthy imports and US. Pretty impressive for a small place in Columbia, TN! Now, the rough. The folks I saw connected to the business were all friendly and seemed real beer enthusiasts, however the operations and customer attention were erratic. Problems with tabs, cashing out, focusing on bsing with friends while customers stood patiently in line to cash out, tables uncleaned, etc. They should organize the cash register further from the bar to focus on that or have one person concentrate on that only. Maybe someone to bus tables inside and out. Just some suggestions. They really wouldn't have to do that if the people working the bar...worked the bar. Small place but they have some outside seating. Cool place with interesting beer selections, nice folks, just needs some tightening up with bar service. Worth a trip.

Yelp
Great find of a local brewery in Columbia! One of the best Imperial stouts that I have been able to find in a US brewery and unique importes German pilsner as well. Plenty of seating around the bar or in the brewery itself. Friendly staff, close to downtown, highly recommended!

Amber A.

Yelp
What a gem!! I'm actually not a fan of beer. So why do I love this brewery? They have ciders I can enjoy. The staff is friendly and fast! The atmosphere is the coolest. Such amazing branding! Nice patio entrance, there was fire going outside when we visited. People were gathered around, laughing and enjoying life. It's a tiny rustic tap room. Lots of really great tap options, cans, bottles. They even have a house made root beer if you are looking for an NA option. There is a door left of the bar that leads into an large open room with tables. Looks like they have live music in there sometimes. There are games available to play. When we were there a man had a table set up making crepes! They were amazing!!!!! If you're hungry for more there is a food truck parked across the street on the weekends! We had cousins Maine. Very yummy lobster tots and clam chowder! There were also people who had brought there own food in. Very fun chill vibe!

Eric C.

Yelp
VERY impressed with this company. Great beer for a low price. Met the owner and he's really friendly and insanely intelligent. Definitely recommend!

Jessee L.

Yelp
The beer is what you come for. The Voyager Pale Wheat beer is my personal favorite. I could drink that all day long. The place itself is cool, as they've added on and is much bigger now. They don't have food themselves, but they have food trucks show up to serve. So that can be hit or miss depending on the truck that comes and what you like. But this place is definitely worth a visit.

Yelp
I think this is a great little taproom, and it will only get better! My husband tried all three of their beers, currently being produced off-site while they get their brewhouses set up. (Yes, more than one, so they can do some sours in their smaller system and not contaminate their bigger brewhouse going in across the street.) Husband thought all of their beers were solid flagships, and he was impressed by their guest taps: Founders, Bell's, Jolly Pumpkin, lots of options for all tastes. Even if they only have three of their own beers currently, they're not leaving you without great choices. I had a flavorful cider. They also had wood-burning fire pits outside, a food truck, and plenty of people hanging out. It was clean, service was good, and people seemed to be enjoying themselves. It looks like they're working the kinks out on managing tabs and service. They also have a great theme going with the Norse stuff, not overly kitschy, pretty tasteful. My one gripe is probably the single bathroom. With beer, the more people drink, the more people have to go. So hopefully as they grow, they'll expand the bathroom situation, as even the smaller taprooms I've visited in the area have at least two. It's also not a handicap accessible restroom. I frequent a lot of breweries, and this one is a great addition to the Columbia scene. No complaints from me.

Yelp
My husband and I came here to celebrate our anniversary, and we loved it! They had a tent set up at Brew at the Zoo and we knew we had to try it. It's a smaller place, but the atmosphere is super relaxing and their beer is fantastic. They also had an amazing BBQ food truck, Hearty Hog, which was equally delicious. We will be coming back!

Billy B.

Yelp
Stopped in for a quick beer. I had the #11, some type of ipa. Very good beer and friendly staff.

Keri P.

Yelp
I don't ever drink beer. It's a rare rare occasion. I've been here twice and have had the best beers I've ever tried ever! I am thankful for the experience and will be back often.

Lacie H.

Yelp
Awesome place to stop and drink some beer and made other beer lovers. Haven't been there since they started the food but it is a cozy little spot to hang out, have a few beers, and a few laughs

Ben K.

Yelp
I was very excited to try Asgard. I think the idea of traditional Icelandic beer in a Nordic setting is awesome. A friend and I drove all the way from Nashville to check out the taproom and it was cool, very small but to be expected from a brewery just starting up. The beer, it was really good. I especially liked they're pale ale. Here's why I give it 2 stars. The staff was awful. They where more concerned about they're own party than the enjoyment of they're customers. I have been too many brewery's where the owners and brewers where passionate about they're beers and wanted to talk to you about it. They couldn't care less that we where there. They had very inappropriate conversation and used a lot of profanity (there where children in the taproom) they spent most of the time on they're phones and complaining about other patterns. Basically the staff behind the bar acted like giant children. It really saddens me to see such a good product and a cool idea in the hands of someone who clearly is more concerned about having fun and looking "cool" than building a business.

Yelp
Great spot with BEER PEOPLE - good selection of both their brews and some awesome choices from all over the world, very eclectic mix of brews. We went on a night they had a killer taco truck, super busy but had no trouble getting beverages .... no food without the truck but we'd still go back, definitely recommend this stop in Columbia

Candace D.

Yelp
I am in love with this sweet little spot. The eclectic mix of people all there to have a good time and conversation make it a place you want to come back to over and over again. The beer options are grand and the quality is superb! I have been disappointed. The staff is helpful and friendly and they work non stop. Busy is the game here. The food trucks are an awesome BONUS on the experience, always offering something you remember. This is my husband and my favorite date night pick :)

P. T. B.

Yelp
Lovely spot, good beers and nice folks. I like their theme and approach. I had and enjoyed the Heimdallr Pale Ale and the Huginn Belgian Porter. Recommended!

Danny C.

Yelp
I love this place. Bartenders are great - to regulars and to new comers. Knowledgeable about the beers. They make you feel welcome and are excited about beer. Columbia needed this place.

Sabrina J.

Yelp
Stopped by for the first time this evening. They were moderately busy. We took a seat at the bar and read the menu on the board as well as one from the bar. We waited several minutes before we were finally greeted by the bartender. I tried 2 before deciding on my beer a white devil maybe. It was very good. My husband has their IPA and he was pleased. Beer was great and great variety for someone who wants to try something different. We will go back.

Anthony C.

Yelp
Great Beer! And they've got a Groupon! I can't wait to come back and fill my Growler!
