My experience with this place has been extremely frustrating. From the start, the application process was problematic. We applied and paid, but days passed with no response. Despite multiple attempts to get in touch, we received no information. We had to visit the office in person several times before we were informed that we didn’t qualify for the apartment we applied for, but did qualify for another one that was just a few dollars cheaper. However, after more waiting, we were then told we no longer qualified, citing insufficient income, even though we actually met the requirements. After almost a month of uncertainty, we were finally accepted into the Asheville apartment at the last minute. The entire process was unnecessarily stressful.
We received an offer for the first month’s rent free. However, on the 8th of the following month, the assistant manager arrived with an eviction notice, claiming that we hadn't paid the rent. After explaining that the free month was clearly stipulated in the contract, she left to review the situation, but the system was never updated. I had to go to the office in person to correct the mistake. Additionally, I was being charged for property insurance, even though the manager had already accepted the third-party insurance I sent days before moving in. To this day, we haven't received a single apology from the management.
As for the facilities, the laundry and dryer, which are included in the rent, are extremely old and have not worked properly since day one. Even though the maintenance team came out three times, we were without these services for a month due to the maintenance response time. Although the issue was addressed, the washer and dryer machines are so worn out that they take much longer than usual to dry, resulting in higher electricity consumption.
Recently, I reported a leak in the bathroom on Friday the 22nd, but almost two weeks later it still hasn’t been repaired. The walls are likely full of mold by now. Although I sent an email to management the following week, the assistant manager responded, but she showed no interest in resolving the issue.
To make matters worse, we have witnessed several thefts, including vehicles having their tires stolen.
The most frustrating part of all this is that every week seems to bring a new problem in the apartment, which is a direct result of the lack of proper maintenance. The issues keep piling up, with no concern from management to offer definitive solutions.
This community is extremely strict when it comes to collecting rent, but incredibly ineffective when it comes to providing good service or resolving problems. I’ve never had such a negative experience, and all of this in less than a month. My recommendation is to think twice before moving here. The lack of professionalism, terrible customer service, and overall conditions leave much to be desired.
Additionally, I have tried to contact Knightvest Residential several times through various ways, but have received no response. It seems their work and attention are as negligent as the Asheville management.
