"For a buffet with mimosas and a side of fabulosity, show up at noon on Sundays for Asheville Beauty Academy’s beloved Life’s a Drag brunch." - Gina Smith

"This downtown late-night haunt’s Sunday drag brunch is fit for a queen — and kings — with a cast of bedazzled fabulistas strutting their stuff and belting torch songs. Noon is the fashionably-late start for the breakfast buffet of eggs, bacon, and biscuits, plus vegan mac and cheese, Swiss and ham rolls, broccoli salad, and seasonal muffins." - Kay West

Another splendid spectacular of drag at the Academy. Bruno Diaz one of the most dynamic kings in town sometimes performs there. Very clean. Awesome management. Also like one night a month old school 80s new wave type music. Great for parties of all types. Also on Sunday a yummy brunch can be purchased. Start your Sunday off right!

ABSOLUTELY A BLAST! We were on a bachelorette and happened upon ABA and loved it so much we went back two nights in a row. DJ Ganymede and all the dancers are amazing, they made our weekend and were so sweet to us. 10/10 must go in Asheville for Bachelorette Parties!!!

Went with friends one Friday and it was completely dead. We got there a little after 11p and there were several people just sitting around but no one was at the bar and no one dancing (shown in video). WE STILL HAD TO PAY A $5 COVER EACH! What a joke. Apparently they also didn’t have a lot of things stocked behind the bar, so some of the drinks we ordered couldn’t be made or provided to us. Was really disappointed because I had specifically been told to go there because “it’s a great place”.

There is nothing more satisfying than brunch and a show. If you've never been to a drag brunch you are missing out. Fabulous and fierce!!!

We went for Drag Brunch and had a great time! The show was excellent! Those queens work their butts off The food was OK. I would likely not go just for the food, but we went for the show and that was stellar.

5 stars for the staff and the drag performers. And the brunch buffet was actually pretty tasty! Unfortunately the layout of the space was super disappointing and caused us to miss a lot of the show. There are a mix of tall tables and short tables. We were sat at a short table, right in front of the stage. The stage wasn’t used much, as the performers mostly went up and down the aisle. So any time a performer was down the aisle past our table, they were blocked by the patrons in the tall tables and you couldn’t see anything at all. I genuinely probably could not see half or more of the show. It was so sad! Only the one or two people in our party sitting at the edge of the aisle could see it all. If I were to return I would definitely request a tall table. I hope they consider making some changes.

As a regular patron at this establishment this evening, I just watched a very, very inebriated bridal party get extremely upset because it was not the event that they had wished for at this venue tonight. The person checking IDs initially started off very accommodating to this drunk party of six people and made sure they were refunded. Their attitude was completely inappropriate and extremely juvenile. At that point, they became verbally abusive with the person checking IDs. Words were exchanged. He then let them know that they were trespassing and to be on their way. They continued to return one by one to yell more ridiculousness at the employees. I was actually impressed that he was able to deescalate the situation due to the fact that a drunk pack of entitled tourists pushed so hard to cause a problem. Hats off to the employees for being treated with such blatant disrespect and disgusting entitlement and still being able to keep their cool.

Yelp
What a fun little bar and dance club. Great idea to have djs battle it out between 80's & 90's music. But should read the room better-if no one is on the dance floor singing the songs, pick popular songs not just the ones you like.

Yelp
I was drawn in by the music so decided to check it out. There's a $5 cover but the upstairs bar doesn't have a cover. Loved the drinks and the DJ. The crowd was very diverse and everyone seemed to be having a great time. I also loved the seating and tables that were right across from the bar.

Yelp
I wanted to enter but it was late for me. Stood outside and eavesdropped on the MC- a trivia show inside? People entered while I hesitated... looked like a cool venue that I will try next time!

Yelp
Extremely nice staff and really good music. DJ Lil Meow Meow was amazing! All types and ages of people so we fit right in. May become a new haunt when we visit Asheville!

Yelp
Just ordered 2 scotches, lagavullin. Great stuff. Trusted the price would be reasonable, didn't ask. The bill was $64. $30 per plus tax. My fault for not asking, I suppose so. Beware.

Yelp
Recommended to us by a local as a good live music dance bar, it was a great experience. Couches and an expansive bar surround a dance floor and stage. Love music until 11 then a dj comes with dance music. Great place to come and dance to new and old songs or just relax on the sofas and drink. 5$ cover but they take credit cards!
