I had a great experience at Ashling Kitchen & Bar in Crofton, MD! I started with their Brussels sprouts appetizer, crispy, flavorful, and a perfect way to kick off the meal. For the main course, I had the country-style fried chicken, which was delicious and paired with their unique chip-shaped French fries, such a fun and tasty twist. The restaurant has a cozy, rustic vibe with creative decor and a welcoming ambience that really adds to the overall experience. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of their menu!

Ashling is catering our wedding this year, and we could not be happier. Karla has been helping us through this process and has made everything so fun! She is transparent about cost, which I really appreciate. On top of that the food is amazing!! The chef really knows his stuff and the cocktails have yet to disappoint. I highly recommend this place for a date night, or small gathering

Google
Our waitress Kennedy was amazing, super thoughtful, thorough, and fast. She took time to make sure us and our 1 year old were settled in and even helped! This place definitely has a vibe and we are excited to return! Very clean, and the smells coming out of that kitchen are to die for to say the least. Super accommodating to young kids also!

I found this place using AI, which recommended somewhere in Crofton—and what a find it was! It was easy to get a reservation just a few hours in advance, and we were seated quickly. The server greeted us promptly and brought over the drink menu as well. The service was excellent, and the food was just as good! The atmosphere was a bit loud, but that wasn’t surprising, given the number of people in the restaurant.

Google
This was my first time visiting this restaurant. I truly enjoyed the atmosphere, food was delicious and the customer service was great. I plan to visit again. I feel that the price of food was okay (nice size portions of food) but so is everything else these days. You only live once. I still want to go back.

Went for brunch. Reservations made via Open Table. Nice little hidden gem in Crofton off 301, in a shopping stripe. Never would have noticed. The staff is friendly. The food is decent. The Taco Carne Asada with added Blacken Shrimp and Avocado was delicious. Highly recomend their brunch drinks, Peach Soda. My friend had the Bistro Steak with 3 Eggs. The atmosphere is nice astectically but unfortunately, I do have to agree that the music is loud. I had a hard time hearing my guest across the table. But I would go back to try other dishes.

Google
This place is surprisingly exceptional! The flavor of the dish I chose (shrimp and grits) was not what I was expecting, but the flavors were paired to perfection. The chefs and my waitress were amazing 💞 I will definitely be a returning customer 😌

Google
I enjoyed the pineapple mimosa. The salmon with risotto and broccoli was okay; I just needed to add sal and pepper. The food’s presentation was nice. Service was good.

Yelp
I have been to Ashling enough times that I should have written this review a long time ago. Situated on Route 3 in Crofton, it's a small-ish restaurant serving up some really good food. I have dined inside as well as ordered food to go and they have never missed for me. The chicken sandwich, wings, burgers and chicken and waffles are all amazing. They did not miss with any of those items. They also have different specials throughout the week so you can really pick your day to go. Every person that works there is extremely nice and the service is really fast. Your food is almost guaranteed to arrive before your appetizers are finished. One negative I recently experienced was trying to get a quote on a large catering pick up order. I went to the restaurant and the manager on duty let me know they would be closed for a week but would reopen the following Saturday. I asked if it would be ok if I wanted to pick up my order on Saturday and she said it shouldn't be a problem. She handed me 2 business cards of who to contact. I sent multiple emails requesting a quote and even asking if I was being too ambitious knowing the business would be closed the week prior. I received an email that said "sorry we are closed next week." I responded that I was aware but that my order request was when they were open. I never heard back from anyone. It's not enough to deduct stars because my other experiences have been great, but it's a little frustrating when you are trying to do business with someone and you cannot get a response. You should definitely check this place out. You will become a regular.

Yelp
My go to spot for really good authentic gumbo is Ashling and they didn't disappoint at all. It was beautifully presented, the seafood was fresh and I was a happy camper. For starters I had the cauliflower appt with buffalo sauce which was enjoyable. Unfortunately I didn't care for the calamari as it wasn't properly cooked and too soft/chewy for my tastebuds. I got a cheeseburger and blackened shrimp taco's to go for my family and they were happy. The house made potato chips served with the burger were excellent. Sorry Fam, I was hungry and didn't take pics of everything. Doug the bartender was excellent and the establishment is always clean so it was another positive experience.

Yelp
Visited here on a Saturday around 3pm and thankfully wasn't crowded at all and was able to make reservations 30 minutes before getting there. The space is cute gives me like chill lounge vibes but not a lounge, if that makes sense (I think it's the dark furnishings) Once we got seated we started off with the crab artichoke dip which had a side of bread, which was an 8/10 for me. We then tried two drinks, the Ashling and the Raspberry Bellini, both were delicious. For our main entrees we had the southern chicken sandwich, tempo tacos with grilled shrimp, short ribs, and the ashling cheeseburger. All were good and no complaints. The fries that came with the burger and chicken sandwich were fresh and so good, love how they do their fries. We finished our lunch off with the banana pudding and the beignets, which were delicious. The star of the visit was our waitress she was so sweet, quick, and just on top of it. A solid place to visit when you want a good bite to eat without dealing with crowds.

Yelp
We dined here on 3/5 for my daughter's birthday. It was a quiet weekday evening and the service was great. We ordered wings, calamari, steak frites, chicken and waffles, and Rasta pasta. Everyone enjoyed their meal. It was a decent night out.

Yelp
8'30'2021 This place is esthetically perfect!! It's nestled inside of a shopping center with plenty of parking. They could use a few more spaces! It is a shared parking lot w a few businesses. Before entering, we saw the board with today's specials. Tasty specials. Beautiful entryway, I loved the décor. It's light rustic, contemporary. The young lady who checked us in was so nice. She was sweet and made sure we were comfortable until our reservation table was ready. As soon as we sat down, we were greeted by our waitress Carmela. She was super sweet. She proceeded to bring us water and take our orders. We ordered the following. Chef's Favorite Roasted Brussel Sprouts: Very tasty. Ashling Naked Wings (Old Bay) Southern Chicken Sandwich: It was ok. Southern Sweet Tea Brined Fried Chicken and Pecan Waffles: Festive. Tasty. Bistro Steak Frites: Not a table Fav. Didn't present or taste well. Jamaican Jerk Chicken Rasta Pasta: A hit. Very good and well flavored. Overall, I enjoyed this place, I would return to get other items that I saw on the menu as well as drinks. The bar area was very lively. I would definitely return back sooner than later.

Yelp
Ashling is a funny restaurant, because it's so much cuter than what you think you're walking into from the parking lot lol. Once you enter, this spot is the cutest! A good location for girls night, date night, solo night just to be at the bar, etc. No matter where you sit, you are in thee seat! Their food is great too! My table of 2 had the calamari, wings, and French onion soup and let me tell you... for ME, the soup stole the show! Now that I know how it is on the inside lol, I wouldn't mind returning for a solo trip at the bar.

Yelp
I had a really awesome experience here at Ashling! I visited on a Friday evening just after Christmas - the place was decorated wonderfully. We really enjoyed the garland, lights, and bulbs that were strung in the space, shoutout to holiday cheer. There are two main dining room areas and a large bar that seats approx 10-15 guests. I was really impressed by how big the restaurant is, it's much deeper than what it looks like from the street. The service was wonderful throughout the night - two bartenders served us; they were both attentive, friendly, warm, and helpful. They provided a few recommendations for food orders and even told us a little bit about the history and ownership of the place. You can tell they've been around for a little while. The food was AWESOME - we all loved the dishes we tried. For appetizers, we got the blackened shrimp and old bay wings. The shrimp is the best dish I had all night - it's served in a delicious red sauce, seasoned to perfection, and has a butter garlic bread on the side. I'd pair those shrimp with some rice to make a full entree. The old bay wings were solid too - would definitely get those again. For entrees, we tried the rasta pasta, gumbo, and duck dishes. I really enjoyed the rasta pasta - it was flavorful but not too spicy. This is a nice date night spot that has an upscale yet casual feel. I'll definitely be back and can hopefully enjoy their happy hour offerings (3-6pm Mon-Fri). And best believe I'll be getting that blackened shrimp.

Yelp
I've heard good things about Ashling from a friend and have been trying to get there for a while. I finally made it and I was pleased. The service was great: very friendly and fast. I loved the interior decor and the layout of the restaurant. The food was pretty great too. The wings were delicious. We ordered the Old Bay and the Sweet Thai Chili. Both were tasty. The service Breakfast Burrito was a solid option as well. I requested Breakfast potatoes instead of French fries, which is what originally came with it. My friend ordered the Chesapeake southwest omelet and I sampled some of it. We both agreed that it was just ok. It wasn't bad but it lacked a bit of flavor. Overall, it's a good restaurant and I would be willing to go back and try more dishes.

Yelp
Easy 5 stars! This hidden gem was amazing! The hostess smoke as you walk through the door and you're seated quickly- we had a reservation. The server was very nice and mended our entire order- and didn't miss anything.... Impressive! Especially on a very busy Father's Day event! The food was- soooooo delicious! I loved my dish and the portions are great. I was stuffed so I shared with babe! I also had some of Sharon's waffle- just a bite.. it was soft and scrumptious! My burrito was the highlight of the show! I had a few customizations chicken instead of whatever other meat because we you guys one I don't eat beef or pork! All in all... we will be back!! This was truly a gem!!

Yelp
I had the roasted Duck, which had to send back due to the Duck being overcooked. When it came back it was cooked perfect. The overall flavor of the dish was really good. The portion size was plentiful. The service was good and it was a really nice environment. I will return.

Yelp
I'm happy to have found this local restaurant for happy hour! My girlfriend and I had a great experience here. Their happy hour menu is very affordable, with plenty of appetizers and drinks to choose from - we recommend the brussel sprouts and the shrimp. Service was quick, and the ambiance was nice. No complaints here, we'll be back. 4/5 only due to us only trying appetizers - would love to come back for dinner time.

Yelp
We have been here multiple times and it never ceases to impress. This time we came on a Wednesday where it is Wings and Whiskey Wednesday at Ashling. There was no wait but just about every table was filled when we walked in. Wings were $.99 each and the signature whiskey was $6. It's a great deal. Food was fantastic. We also got a side of the broccoli, cream of crab soup and the scrumptious limited time Churro Doughnuts with cinnamon ice cream on top. Highly recommended. Parking can be a bit rough when things get very busy in the smaller shopping center especially during brunch and dinner times. We also recommend getting reservations if you're going to go during prime time. Service was excellent even for a relatively busy Wednesday night. Our server was never too far away and we were sat at our table immediately upon entering. All in all I have not had any complaints about this place. Always a pleasure.

Yelp
The food was excellent! I feel so bad for not getting here sooner. The salmon was smoky & crispy. The short ribs were fall off the bone tender. My favorite was the bread pudding. I could come by here and have that for lunch. Only gave 4 stars due to noise level.

Yelp
Took my girls out for brunch, and since we had not been to Ashling Kitchen in awhile we decided to check it out. To our surprise Brunch was only offered on Sunday. However, we decided to indulge anyway. We arrived a bit early, with noon reservations. We had to wait a few because they did not open until noon....when they opened the door, we were warmly greeted by the hostess who also waited our table, and were seated promptly. The ambiance was cozy, smd the waitress nothing less than superb. We were given menus and other items to get us settled. The orders placed with the food arriving promptly. Everything was hot off the grill and well plated. All I can say is we ran out of table space...enough for lunch the next day. I cannot single out any one item because everything was absolutely tasty...

Yelp
The staff were all very nice and welcoming. I truly appreciate that when I am dining out. The food was really good. I had the salmon dish and my company had the gumbo. Both were very good, however, if you don't like spicy food I wouldn't recommend the gumbo. The bread pudding was unique in that it had bananas in it. It wasn't overpowering though. Just a hint and it was great. The drink was a raspberry bellini and it wasn't good. I would try another drink, but I loved the card they put on it. I would definitely go back and would tell you to give them a try as well!!

Yelp
Visited back in June 2024, decent restaurant, food and drinks are good. The inside is cute but small, service was good.

Yelp
I left church on Sunday and was craving Chicken & waffles. I remembered that I have no yet tried Brunch at The Ashling so I stopped by to give it a try. Their food never disappoints. I went around 11 am; there was a good amount of seating available. It was just me so I sat at the bar. I started with a Raspberry Bellini cocktail. It was fruity & packed a punch. I ordered the Country fried chicken & waffles for my entree. The food came out really fast. I maybe only waited 10 mins after the order was placed. The chicken was nice, crispy, and hot. My waffle was kind of cold. I had to give it back to the bartender to warm up so it could be more enjoyable. Once it was warmed up, boyyyy was it good! It is paired with whipped pecan butter, hot honey, & syrup. I thoroughly enjoyed their chicken & waffles. I highly recommend.

Yelp
Service was nice and place is good with decent ambiance. We reserved the place for 6:30 about 2 hours before. We were seated almost as soon as we walked in at 6:30 although the place was crowded on the Friday evening. Food was decent. Calamari was really good. Broccoli grill was not that great. I ordered vegan burger with sweet potato fries and found it pretty good. My wife ordered fish and chips....and that was well, without much flavor! Overall, we liked it. Will visit again to try other things.

Yelp
Date night or drinks type of vibe. Would not recommend for families Ambiance: 10/10, decorated very cute for the holidays! Parking: 6.5/10, multiple businesses in this plaza so the parking lot fills up quickly but we were able to find a parking spot relatively quickly. Noise level: LOUD, would not recommend for kids/families Food: 7/10 (me) I had the 1/2 chicken with broccolini and Parmesan truffle fries. All the food seemed to be lukewarm but especially the broccolini, they were borderline cold. The fries were a bit salty. Everything had good flavor just needed to be hotter, or brought out while it was still hot. 6/10 (date) he had the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and broccolini. He said the meatloaf was a little dry but the mashed potatoes were good. His broccolini was also cold but flavorful. One interesting thing that was shared was every month they choose a region of the world and showcase their food. Overall not the greatest first impression (other than the ambiance) but I would be willing to give them another try because atleast the flavor was there.

Yelp
It is a very nicely decorated place, and the staff is very nice, however, I was not truly convinced about the food, even though they receive some high ratings. My hubby had fish and chips, however, it was not well seasoned to our liking. I come on the other hand, had the gravy burger, and it was actually very good. ...I need to come again to see if my review needs higher rating

Yelp
Located in a small shopping center. The aesthetics of the restaurant is amazing the decor puts you in a happy mood. Some of the booths have a long white pillow to support your lower back. The hostess was very informative of the specials and hours. The waitress was so pleasant and helpful. The food was hot and delicious I definitely will be going back. We were celebrating my coworkers birthday. The crab and artichoke dip with baguette bread was amazing. The calamari was crispy and the peppers were fried as well.

Yelp
Went to brunch here with my brother, his wife, there 2yr old son, and my husband. We had the most wonderful time with the staff and in the location. I forgot to take pics because of the 2yr old, but we had the chicken and waffles, breakfast burrito, and pancakes. Everything was savory and perfectly made! We were also so happy to see that they had signs for drag shows all over the place, making it a place with great food and accepting staff!!

Yelp
Walked into Ashlings Kitchen at 12pm with my husband and granddaughter. The restaurant had just opened so it was empty and we were seated immediately as we were ordering our drinks and appetizers other patrons started coming in. They have TVs at the bar so of course college football was playing. We were given food and drink menu's. I thought it was brunch but I was told they only serve brunch on Sunday's, I was a little dissappointed but I got over it quickly. I ordered a cranberry mimosa, crab and artichoke dip and fried cauliflower to start. The mimosa was really good the perfect blend of champagne and cranberry juice. The fried cauliflower was seasoned well and still had a nice crunch to it, they were fried a light golden brown and served with buffalo sauce and remoulade sauce. For my main dish I had the fish and chips and for my drink I ordered a raspberry bellini. The raspberry bellini was good very refreshing. When my plate came out I was like wow it reminded me of the fish and chips I had in London. It was a huge piece of haddock fried beautifully and seasoned to perfection. The chips were really good. It was also served with a side of coleslaw which was pretty good also. While looking at the menu I noticed they have taco Tuesday's and wing and whiskey Wednesday's. I will definately return for brunch and both specialty nights so lookout for my reviews. If you are in the crofton area any day or night check this place out you will not be dissappointed.

Yelp
This place is nice. This is the second time I have been here. It's tucked away off 301 in Crofton. The seafood gumbo was delicious. Only thing I wish they can expand the inside so it's a little bit more roomy. That parking lot gets filled up quick lol

Yelp
Never a bad dinner review when I stop into Ashling Kitchen. A warm welcome greeting, promptly seated, apps on point, whiskey salmon was tender and flavorful, mushroom risotto was creamy, SAY LESS!!! Ashling Kitchen is standing on their BUSINESS! One of my favorite local spots. Tip of the day: Doug at the bar is there on Tuesday and Thursday and knows how to make an old fashioned. Your welcome.

Yelp
I met up with the bestie for a long overdue dinner at a place we've been eyeing since FOREVER, Ashling Kitchen and Bar. We made reservations, since it was graduation season and I'm glad we did since their were several groups celebrating. It's a much bigger restaurant on the inside than what I imagined in my mind. Very nice sleek and cute outlay. Good luck with parking though, on a busy Friday night, it can be tricky. Moving along, we were seated and dove right in and ordered the fried green tomatoes and crab artichoke dip for appetizers. Both were delish! I did think the dip had a tad bit too much salt for my liking and I can't say I saw more than a teaspoon of crab. For a bevie, I ordered the cucumber, extremely refreshing and wonderful. For an entrée we both ordered the Irish Whiskey Glazed Salmon. It came with a creamy risotto and asparagus. Very nicely prepared and also delicious, but I do think the sauce was a bit salty as well. We also ordered the special for dessert, which was the beignets. They were horrible. I'm made I wasted my calorie intake on them. They were literally donuts holes with chocolate sauce. We didn't even finish them. Our server, Jacob was attentive and gave great suggestions. We sat towards the back of the restaurant, which I appreciated because the front portion seemed to be a bit congested. A nice bar sat towards the left when we entered. We had an enjoyable time and I will absolutely be back in the very near future. A great option and it's close by!

Yelp
We were seated and then wait for 8 minutes . No one came to greet us or even acknowledged our presence. It was only 3 of us. Myself, my husband and our 6 year old son.

The decor was very homey. There was a good sized space. Hostesses and staff were super friendly and attentive.

Yelp
The ambiance is awesome! Food is fresh, menu is creative! I had the salmon Benedict & my friend had the pancakes banana foster-style. Hers was good but the turkey links came out cold for some reason. The Salmon Benedict came with a choice of home fries or Gouda grits - so I chose the later. They were good, but I'm more used to a more yellow cheese in my grits, if they have to be cheesy. Server was on point, food came out quickly, just down know why the links would be cold (my friend didn't want to complain). The bar looked nice, I'll be back to watch a game and/or just hit HH!________________________________________________________

Yelp
I have been coming to Ashling since they opened....We bring people who visit from out of town to Ashling. My previous dozen or so reviews have been 5 stars, but Im not sure whats going on and I will be calling tomorrow as well, since the manager was busy being the bartender tonight as well to discuss..... We had a reservation and were seated promptly, it was middle of the road busy...nothing crazy but not empty. Once we were seated it took about 13 minutes until i got up to go to the bar and get our table waters and cocktails. Once I got up to the bar a server came and asked me if I had a table and I said yeah, but im just getting drinks, we havent seen a server yet. She took my order and said someone would be over to get us waters. The bar was super backed up and when the drinks came out they were all the wrong drinks. Server informed me they were out of their special collab with Pherm and the cocktails were regular mojito/margarita and not the holiday version....ok cool, we will drink the regular ones for the first round, one sip in and the mojito was just seltzer water and lime....stir drink, sip again and the same!!! No sugar, not muddled mint, no rum to be detected. Server comes back by and we explain, she apologizes and we try again....Holiday mojito is good, holiday margarita was so-so. Apps: we got the brussel sprouts, french onion soup and crab dip....Crab dip was really good, fresh bread that came with it was also crisp outside and soft inside!! Brussel sprouts are terrible and I loved the old brussel sprouts!!!! The new once have no sauce, are burned to a crisp and topped with some feta. Im not sure where the balsamic glaze went, but it didnt make it in our sprouts. French Onion, we have had before and something was different...Almost like a cumin or chili powder in it!!? Not sure, but not good!! Mains: Order the Turkey leg special....They are out of it! Cool, meatloaf is old faithful and good as usual. At least no one tried to change this one! Two others got the chicken pot pie and said it was pretty good, they would have liked a pie crust topping as opposed to puff pastry topper, but still pretty good. During the meal, drinks took forever to get and we all switched to beers, hoping to help....Its coming from a can and you pour into the glass yourself! lol....It still took forever! Our server frequently checked on us throughout the meal and made sure we had waters, but said the bar situation just isnt good tonight and the manager is working the bar...... Bottom line, if this was my first visit, I would not go back!! Im not sure what the disconnect is and they will get one more try, but it was concerning and if I owned this place, I would want to know!! Main:

Yelp
Went to Ashling for a family birthday with 12 people. Contacted the restaurant and they responded within 24 hours to set the reservation. When we arrived we were sat immediately in the Star Room which served several parties and was spacious. Our waitress was very attentive and offered her favorite meals and knew the menu well. Everyone enjoyed their food and agreed each plate was well seasoned with large filling portions. The drinks were made special for each guest and hit the spot. Since it was a birthday we saved room for dessert. I highly recommend the warm banana bread pudding. It was the tables favorite.

Yelp
Ashling Kitchen and Bar is located in a busy strip plaza in Crofton. Everyone raves about the spot so I had to check it out. A few weeks ago, I had Sunday brunch with a few friends. It's a lot bigger inside than it's outside. I would give it 5 stars for it being a spacious, modern looking space. It's very diverse and family oriented! However, the brunch options were limited and my chicken and waffles just seemed basic to me. My strawberry Bellini was tasty so I ordered two. Our server was very nice and understanding, especially since one of the guests was really tipsy lol I'll have to come back for dinner and update my review.

Yelp
Chicly attractive and cozy ambiance. Charming and gregarious server and manager. The level of hospitality that my party received was definitely a plus. I did not partake in any libations this go round so I do not have any insight to share regarding the cocktails. I chose the fish and chips entrée. The potatoes were certainly uniquely sliced, perhaps, a bit thin for my taste. The fish was satisfactory and the sauces served with it were definitely a saving grace. My friends each had the shrimp and grits and chicken and waffles. They were well pleased with their meals. I would return to try another dish and to sip a little. ;-)

Yelp
Ashling has been transformed into a "Christmas Wonderland"! The holiday decorations are absolutely gorgeous! I love the new holiday drinks. The fried calamari, cream of crab soup and seafood gumbo were amazing. And the icing on the cake was the pumpkin pie with the lemon custard topping, oh and the whipped cream of course. The greatness of Ashling is back in full effect! Plus Jess gave excellent service and gave me the perfect suggestion to try the seafood gumbo!

Yelp
Well, that chef is no longer there and I can taste the difference. The bbq shrimp is not the same, it was just not good.. i had to ask what happened and thats when i was told the chef had changed hands.. i had fish tacos that were pretty decent but im apprehensive about the menu now. Decent bar service.. one lady literally fills the glass which i loved lol

Yelp
I love it it here. I'm surprised it's taken me this long to write a review based on the amount of times that I eat at and order from this restaurant. I eat here a lot! This restaurant is located in a shopping station located right off of Route 3. Plenty of parking in the shopping center. The restaurant is not the biggest restaurant - but I wouldn't necessarily describe it as small either. Every time I've been, the staff has been friendly and attentive - I've never had an issue. Usually I order the Jerk Pasta with Chicken add Shrimp. Words cannot describe how good that pasta is. I have introduced MULTIPLE friends to that pasta and now they ask me all the time the next time we're going back. That Pasta really is a 10/10. My fiancé likes the Southern Chicken Sandwich fried! It gets it every time we come to the restaurant/door dash the restaurant. I haven't tried the sandwich myself but the way he describes it let's me know it's as amazing as everything else they have! I've also had multiple different appetizers and happy hour specials - but my favorite for those are probably the roasted Brussels sprouts and the crab & artichoke dip! I've also been for brunch, and their brunch food is just as good!! The portions are HUGE, and everyone I went to brunch with ended up talking some food home with them! Bottom line, Ashlings' food is just really good and service is also good too!

Yelp
First timer. Came here for one of my GNO birthday dinner celebrations. Yes I have multiple celebrations lol Food 5 out of 5. Started with the mussels. Delish they serve this with hand cut potato frites. The garlic sauce was superb! I ordered seafood risotto w/ scallops and shrimp. Well seasoned and cooked to perfection! The portion size was enough for lunch/dinner the next day. Service 5 out of 5. Friendly staff. Our server was attentive and very knowledgeable about the menu. She made great suggestions. Ambiance 5 out of 5. I must admit I wasn't expecting much with a shopping center restaurant, BUT what a PLEASANT SURPRISE to walk in to such a nicely decorated ambiance!!! Love it! Ashling is a nice elevated dining experience. It's local to me, which is a plus, not having to travel far. Check them out. I didn't get pics this time around - too busy talking and enjoying the moment.

Yelp
We ate at Ashling kitchen and Bar on Friday night. Our server was lovely - very attentive. The food was delicious! I had the braised short ribs with mashed potatoes and carrots and my husband had the rockfish imperial which he really enjoyed! The food was very well prepared- very fresh! For dessert we had a delicious apple cobbler! Amazing! What a way to finish off a meal. We have been to Ashling a handful of times and have never had a bad meal. They always do a fabulous job in the kitchen. One small complaint- though we know it is not on the fault of the restaurant. A family of six was sitting near us. One of the children had his tablet on and the volume was very loud. It was very disruptive to our meal The parents did nothing to turn the volume down. We asked our server if she could talk to the mom. Our server spoke to the server of that table and returned back to us and said that table was getting ready to leave. 20 minutes later that table was still there and very loud tablet was still going. in comparison there was another family of six next to us and the two girls were watching something on their phones. We did not hear their volume at all. Parents need to learn how to parent and/or restaurant managers or someone need to enforce a policy regarding electronics at the table. We will return to Ashling but if this situation occurs again..we will be upset if nothing is done to fix it

Yelp
My grandma had the kale salad and absolutely loved it she couldn't stop talking about how good it was. The calamari was delicious and the dip. The gumbo was ok. The service was good I can't complain. Nice calm ambiance.

Yelp
I recently visited Ashling Kitchen for its 5th Birthday. I was promptly greeted by the hostess. The restaurant was decorated for a birthday party, with #5 balloons all over the place. I took my seat at the bar and checked out the birthday specials. I ended up ordering old bay chicken wings and crab dip. The chicken was seasoned well and the ranch. Tasted like someone was back in the kitchen mixing up mayo, sour cream, dill and whatever else goes in homemade ranch. The dip came out nice, hot and bubbly. It wasn't overloaded with crap but it was enough. I would order each item again. Friendly staff and great food! Put Ashling Kitchen on your must visit list!

Yelp
Service was excellent as well as ambiance. We decided to come here for the first time (party of 2) on a Friday night. No reservation. Walked in and immediately seated, although majority of the restaurant was full. The food What we liked -- wings (ordered the old bay), Cobb salad (huge), calamari (loved it!), Jasmine cocktail (tasty and presented very well), apple cobbler/vanilla ice cream. What fell more on the dislike side -- Sangria (not sure what wine was used but it was more bitter than a sweet red), fish and chips (wanted to love this but it fell short due to too much batter and zero seasoning). We did not taste anything from the "Around the World" menu but very intrigued by it. Would like to try next time depending on the cuisine. I've been to Ledos in the same shopping center many times and honestly never noticed Ashling. Glad we "found it".

Yelp
I wanted to try Ashling Kitchen again. On our last visit, the food was really good but we left with a sour taste having to pay 75% of the price of a drink sent back because the bartender made it wrong. Anyhoo, let's talk about this visit. We visited on a Friday night at 730. Surprisingly it was a light crowd. Different bartender so no problem with our cocktails this time. The calamari and crab dip appetizers were plentiful and very good. Delivered hot. There's a reason I mention the food temperature....stay tuned. Our server was new and we could tell. We were forgiving in this area as he is learning, but he disappeared after we got our meals. We needed things so had to ask someone else. The real disappointment this go around was with the entrees. The presentation was beautiful - Meatloaf and Jamaican Jerk Chicken. BUT the food was lukewarm, and we're talking closer to the luke than the warm. And taste wise it was just ok. Not terrible but nothing special. We were disappointed in that. So still 3 stars for me. p.s. The manager was really good. Talked to us as we were getting up to leave and asked about our experience. We told him about our server but again we were understanding that he was new. We didn't mention the food temperature. He asked if there was anything he could do for us to make up for the lack of attentiveness, but we declined letting him know we could tell he was new and just offered feedback for improvement because everybody has a first day at some point. We appreciated his offer though. Very customer focused.

Yelp
The pandemic has caused many of us to lower our expectations when it comes to dining out. Supply chain shortages lead to conspicuous modifications to many of the dishes we've come to know and love. Staffing shortages have led to overworked, grossly underpaid, in some cases under trained and in most cases completely frustrated front and back of the house staff... Who sometimes turn into rude and unpleasant customer facing staff. It seems like in many cases we are paying more to get less... And the less we get is often of a much lower quality than we are used to. In short it has become a chore to dine out. I can say definitively that I have not had what I consider a "good meal" since COVID. That all changed during my first visit to this restaurant. I experienced some challenges ordering online. After the third or fourth time I tried to place my order online, I ended up calling the restaurant. Even though they have a policy where they don't take orders over the phone, the hostess, Kaitlin, was nice enough to make an exception.... Especially since I was just about at the deadline to place to-go orders. I was right down the street and pulled into the curbside pickup space. I hadn't even had the opportunity to call and let them know that I arrived, when one of the staff members proactively walked out, confirmed my order, took my payment, and made sure to have my ice cream scooped and brought out to me just before I pulled off so that it would not melt (and I'm happy to report that it survived the 35 minute trip home intact). Now let's talk about this food. I really cannot tell you all the last time I've had anything that was this good. I mean, everything I ordered was fantastic! Here's what I tried: -Heirloom roasted beet and goat cheese salad -Steak poutine -Rasta pasta -White chocolate banana Bread pudding -Quebecer poutine -Jamaican jerk chicken -Side of smoked Gouda cheese grits Honestly, I would go back just for the salad. I hate grapefruit, but it blended so beautifully with the rest salad. And the orange vinaigrette dressing was out of this world! It was a generous portion and everything was so fresh. Absolutely delicious. Both poutines were really good. I would have preferred my steak cooked medium, and the gravy had just a pinch too much salt, but they were still fantastic! The jerk chicken was absolutely delicious. I would happily put it up against what I order at my favorite Jamaican restaurant. It might have deviated a little bit in terms of authenticity, but the flavor was undeniable... Right down to the rice and the sauce. The Rasta Pasta was easily large enough for two people to share comfortably. It was a little bit spicy, the chicken was flavorful, the pasta was cooked al dente... It could have used a pinch more salt in the sauce, but otherwise it was amazing! The smoked gouda and jalapeno cheese grits were out of this world. Easily the best grits I've ever had. And that white chocolate banana bread pudding.... Oh. My. Goodness. I was hooked the moment it touched my tongue. It wasn't mushy like some bread puddings are; it was nice and firm, but also had this chewy and delightful texture. The banana flavor was a pleasant surprise because when I initially tasted it, it tasted exactly like banana pudding... With the texture of bread pudding. Absolutely out of this world! I normally don't eat bread pudding unless it has raisins in it, but I would gladly make an exception here. I can easily say that this was the best bread pudding I've ever had. Five stars for everything; the food, the service, the wait time, everything.

Yelp
I've been meaning to try this place for awhile! I had a coworker recommend this place so we had to try it. It's a bit of noisy atmosphere but the service and food are good! I like decor because it gives the restaurant a cozy feel. I had the fried green tomatoes and crab cake sandwich. I really liked the fried green tomatoes but the crab cake sandwich was okay. I do appreciate the big portion sizes though! I would definitely come back to try the rest of the menu.

Yelp
We are here a couple of months ago, eight or ten of us. The decor is well appointed, trendy. The staff, the hostess and servers were professional and personable. The food, excellent! We had food from all parts of the menu, chicken, ribs, fish it was all so good. Forgive me for the brief review, it slipped my mind as I was visiting family. Recommended!

Yelp
This is one of those "hidden gems" that I've been meaning to write a review on for some time. This was my third visit to Ashling over the past year. Each time, the food and drink are consistently high quality, delicious, and flavorful. The calamari is a staple anytime I visit. Yesterday, I devoured two perfectly crafted raspberry Bellinis. I'll be going back for one (or three more) of those. My boyfriend and I said we plan to Lyft or Uber the next time we visit so we can truly enjoy the drink menu. At any rate, we both are excited to go back! New date night spot.

Yelp
Seriously forgot I was in a strip mall the moment I walked in. This place was a hidden gem for me. I'm suckered for ambiance & Ashling definitely passed the vibe check. I went for the first time for Brunch on a Sunday in a group of three. And we were all pleasantly surprised. The staff greeted us with the smile, and our server addressed us like we were life long friends. We all ordered entrees, split an appetizer & dessert, a mocktail, and a mimosa, and the bill came up to less than $100. The portions were good. I ordered the banana foster French toast which was delicious if you like sugar. The Buffalo Cauliflower was *chefs kiss*.... perfectly crisp, and the sauce comes on the side as to not soggy the "wings". We ended by sharing the Banana Bread Pudding, & it did not disappoint. I'll definitely be back to check out the happy hour, the bar looked top tier. Ashling is like the perfect mix between your local comfort spot, and your favorite posh spot.

Yelp
Oddest experience tonight, restaurant was maybe a quarter full. My wife and I got seats at a bar table and the waitress brought us waters and then did not come back for 15 minutes. We just stood up and left after multiple staff ignored us. Sad usually like their food and drinks but that level of service was inexcusable. To add a surreal note, the manger held the door for us as we left and hoped we had enjoyed the food!
