Ashtala Juice and Gelato

I was helped by one of the young ladies there, she was very kind and friendly. She allowed me to try the blue marshmallow icecream :) I really liked it and got it, I also got an açaí bowl, super tasty, for 13$ it’s a lot and fills you up so definitely worth it and I’m coming back for sure.

They've changed their name to Juice Barrel, but still operate largely the same as before. Smoothies are a bit pricier, but they've got some more unique and nicer ingredients to boot.

It says online that they're open till 10 and I went in at 9:10 and they told me they're closed for the night. Sucks, don't have my money then 🤷‍♀️

Amazing new place! on my way to work, I stop by for an early coffee fix, usually after lunch I stop by for fresh organic custom juice or gelato fix... love this place... healthy, fresh, organic and hours working with my schedule!

I love going here after training to get a smoothie. Clean place, nice outside sitting, and reasonable prices.

Delicious ice cream/gelato. The fruit flavors were quite sweet (too sweet), but the cream-based flavors were perfect.

First time here and was helped by Teresa she was very kind, friendly and helpful, her recommendations were great! She also prepared my juice and it tastes amazing! Very clean! Will be coming back for more!

Love heading to this little spot after working out next door. It's nice to have a local place with fresh and healthy options. My go to is the Greek Goddess (sub PB for almond butter for my PB sensitive peeps ) but you can't go wrong with any of their smoothies or juices. Their flu fighter wellness shot is a must for me when I'm sick. It is strong but I really do feel that it helps! It is a little on the pricier side but totally worth it to skip the artificial stuff. Compared to similar wellness spots it's right on par. Staff remembers their customers which is always a plus for me. Tip: You can call ahead to order if you're in a hurry and pay in person. Tip 2: You HAVE to try their gelato!

My bf and I were really craving some soft serve ice cream last night and just so happened to be out because we had to take our dog to a vet to get a rash checked. Turns out this spot came up in the same plaza as the vet so we decided to check it out after! We walked in and it is a lot taller than you would expect (the ceiling I mean). There were large photos and menus on the wall of a lot of different things they made. Another couple was ahead of us waiting for their order and a security guard also waiting for their order. We checked out their gelato since it was the next best thing to soft serve/ice cream. Tbh their gelato looked lacking. Not sure how often they make a new batch or if they were just that busy that day due to it being almost completely out (and super hot lately). We asked what the flavors were regardless and the one the young lady couldn't describe was one of the ones we ended up going for. The other young worker described the flavor as "Ferrero Rocher, the chocolate" so we immediately went for it. We love that chocolate and I love hazelnut flavored things! The other two flavors we got were pistachio and mint choco chip. They were out of small cups but the lady gave us a single scoop of each in larger cups which was completely fine. It's been a minute since we've had gelato and it was all very good! The pistachio has a very nutty/natural taste to it unlike most pistachio ice creams (which kind of have a fake taste to them). I really enjoyed the mint chocolate chip and my bf really liked the ferrero one. I love the fact that they have stamp cards! Keeps me wanting to go back and it's super close too! I also wanted to order a Frappuccino which was on their menu and the girl turned around and had no idea what I was talking about. She then said the menu is outdated and that they don't serve a lot of the items anymore. Kind of a red flag but luckily she was able to make me one anyway. I ended up asking for an iced hazelnut coffee instead which she said she could do (wasn't on their menu at all). It was just ok, nothing crazy. I definitely want to come back for their gelato tho! For 15.00 the bowl is pretty small for the what are price but it's freshly cut fruit.

The only thing that can make juice barrel even greater is organic options. I for one would pay extra for that.

This place is great.....however, Google and yelp says it's open Sunday. Yet I'm here and they are closed. Juice Barrel needs to update hours for Sundays if they have no intent on being open.

This shop is tucked in a shopping center so it doesn't seem like much but let me tell you it's a hidden Gem, there smoothie's are so yummy and fresh. They are little pricey but they're so worth it! The place is clean and staff is nice. Every time I'm in the area I always stop for a smoothie. Check this place out you won't be disappointed!

Randomly decided to check this place after my work out and man did it hit the spot. Clean and refreshing ambiance fresh drinks made on the spot. A bit pricey but worth the price for this mom and pop store. Service was fast but lady was a bit stand of fish. I said Happy holidays and got the silent treatment.

Only place in the area like this. Here on a Sunday but poor young lady just working by herself and slammed. This is typical. If the owner would someday take his business seriously this place could blow up. Again only place like this in the area. Only matter of time before competition moves in. Maybe then they will think about having two staff members on at the same time.

Delicious. They have great quality celery juice. Tastes great. I have a hard time drinking celery juice unless I juice it myself but from here, it tarred great and fresh.

I had their Protein Acai Bowl! Bomb! I loved it. Super tasty. Especially after working out and stopping by for breakfast!!

After hiking in the nearby hills, I was looking for a healthy smoothie made from good ingredients; most of the options were Jamba Juices, which was not what I was looking for. I ordered the Supergreen smoothie and the vegan brownies sweetened with dates. I thoroughly enjoyed what I ordered. I also w joyed the vibe of the owner, she was very nice and I enjoyed drinking my smoothie at the plaza instead of rushing off. They also have juices, gelato and other options as well. I'd definitely come back.

Wanted to grab a quick protein shake before my kids' basketball game and found this little gem. The service was great, and the shakes were delicious. I had the Rambo, and my friend got the Godzilla! If you're a peanut butter and chocolate kinda person, these are a must!. Drinks are also reasonably priced.

I discovered this during Covid, probably one of the few good things to come out of this pandemic cause now I'm hooked. The drinks are quality drinks, and the place is super cute. The owner is sweet heart. Highly recommend!

Been here multiple times and get the same juice every time and usually they're amazing however today I went and the girl took forever to make my one juice and one smoothie after receiving both I realized she gave me a 16oz instead of 20oz so I had to go back to get my correct order. After driving away and trying my juice I just about threw up, she must've added all lime juice to make up for the 4 missing ounces. Very upsetting because I cannot even drink this juice because of how disgustingly sour it is!!! *make sure to try your juice before leaving the store*

One of the best juice places I've ever been outside of my own kitchen. Fresh ingredients, almost none of this powdered yuck that many other places use. Their mix of juices, smoothies and cleanse shots were amazing. So glad we found this place, it's wonderful juices helped us survive the week in Northridge LA. Soooo worth a visit. Also, their gelato is wonderful!

I came here as it's the only other place I know, other than next-door Furnsaj (same owners) who sell Ashta. If you don't know Ashta, it's sort of like the Middle Eastern version of clotted cream and it's lovely! Everything here is fresh and although I ordered the Ashta tray with bananas, the owners son said he'd love to offer them but that the bananas were slightly under ripe and asked if I'd prefer another fruit. I really appreciated that!

Checking off another place from my wish list of placed to try. Always looking to support local and had to be in the area yesterday, so thought...why not try something different. After much wavering back and forth, I decided to get the Almond Joy. It was definitely good! Just shy of $7 for a 16oz, that's fair. It was filling and unique. For me slightly over powering with almond flavor. I know, I ordered Almond Joy, I get it. I didn't realize that alomd milk + almond butter + almonds would be over my limit. My bad. I was interested in 3 other items on the menu, so I will be back and hoping my next choice will be a little more my style and I can update my review. Easy parking, great customer service, good location.

2nd time here and the owner was there & made the smoothies with extra love! Very delicious. Haven't found a spot as good as juicy ladies which Is in Woodland Hills. Perfect toy blended with the perfect amount of ingredients. Definitely we will be back when we are on that side of the valley!

I went in for a juice today and while I was waiting the cashier (Sophia ) asked me if I wanted to sample their gelatos. It was heavenly !!! Vegan flavors !!! Coconut, pistachio, raspberry and much much more ! Sorry I didn't get a picture but I'll be back soon to buy some gelato! I love this juice bar!! Whenever I come to juice barrthe customer service is always outstanding !!

I order a Gelato here. worse ever the dairy tasted expired and it had a MOLD NEVER COMING HERE AGAIN and service 0/10.

Worst Açaí bowl I have ever had but had a chemical taste. I had to throw it out. Very disappointing.

I have passed by this place so many times telling myself I would come in one day. I'm so glad I finally made it in! It is so cute and they have so many smoothie and juice options. I got the almond joy which was delicious. I like that most of their smoothies are vegan and they use natural ingredients. I can't wait to try out some of their other smoothies and juices, as well as the gelato!

Walked in to a wonderful welcoming greeting. Talked to another customer about her favorite drinks from here. Very peaceful atmosphere. Ordered Forever Young, and chatted with the owner for a while. She was very kind and had a nice smile throughout my visit. The drink was delicious and I will definitely be coming back for other drink items.

I'd give Juice Barrel 10 stars if I could. I have a 2-3 juice/ smoothie go to spots in the valley and this is my number one. Friendly staff, attentive, rarely make mistakes (nobody's perfect), Family owned and on more than a few occasions the owner has been behind the counter working, meeting and greeting customers on many occasions I've been there, and he's a really nice guy From my experience all ingredients are always fresh and available, the list of ingredients is high on my list for a juice/smoothie spot to rank high and Juice Barrel does this better than most other establishments. The menu is plentiful pleasing all my needs from shots, juices, smoothies açaí and other items! Hours of operation is from sun up to sun down and I believe 7 days a week!!! (Don't quote me) haha Seriously though they're always open when I need a fix, other than the rare 3-4 times they were unexpectedly closed during normal business hours... (I was so let down by my cravings expectations lol) Cons: I've had a few bad smoothies from here, but I believe that was due to new inexperienced staff member that had just been hired (turnover rate tends to be higher than avg at these types of establishments, from my experience) No biggie bc I've had 50-60 smoothies maybe a bit more from here in the 6 months or so since finding Juice Barell So in conclusion go! You won't be dissatisfied

Delicious quality and taste blended into a healthy protein smoothie. You get plenty of nutrients and supplements with your drink of choice. Customer service is great, quick and easy ordering, parking easily available! Recommend The Arnold or The Rambo for a rich, almond butter and cocoa taste.

One issue. You can't tip with a card. The staff and juices are great. I recommend this juice bar.

HORRIBLE PLACE-- horrible Açaí. The açaí was bitter, super watery, and had a foul smell to it. Definitely not like other places. Therefore save your money and go elsewhere.

We had a leaky tire so we had to swing into Pep Boys for a patch. Decided to give this spot a shot and was AMAZED!!!! The lady behind the counter was SO patient and helpful with our three kiddos, then answered all my questions and gave us the PERFECT two recommendations. I seriously can't wait to come back and wish I had gotten her name to give her a shoutout! But we just left, she was Caucasian with dark brown hair, and so nice! We ordered the South Beach and the leaf detox juice, and both were absolutely full of flavor. THANK YOU!!!!!

The fruit cocktail was good but the açaí was the worst I have ever had. It's got such a weird minty taste. Would not recommend it.

The fruit cocktails are amazing. Oh my gosh. The ashta. The fruit. The consistency. The flavor. So far I've tried: Beirut Exotic (4.5\5) Red Love (4.5\5) King Kong (5\5 from my bf) Greek Goddess (3\5, personally didn't like it, not much flavor and texture was too grainy; chunks large enough to feel unpleasant ti drink for me) and Aloha (4\5, too much pineapple for my taste but it was my first time ordering a fruit cocktail so I didn't know what I was getting into)

Amazing flavors! I want to go back and try something else from the menu, like right now! And I just left! Any ways, I tried their 4X4 and it was packed with a lot of fruit, and a lot of flavors! I loved their sweet white whipped cream it's soo yummy! And they top it off with pistachio and natural honey! I highly recommend you check them out!

Stopped by after our hike for some amazing, FRESH juice! Wonderful service and clean environment! We were served by a very kind woman named Theresa who gave us a stamp card! After 10 buys we can get one free! Such a cute place, we'll definitely be coming back. SUPPORT THIS SHOP!

I'm so disappointed I ordered Mediterranean cocktail and this is how it came out!! I had to throw the super sugary juice and was not able to eat the fruits, it looks disgusting!! Too bad!! I'll never recommend this place again! It was way better before!

I was looking for a good juice place in Granada Hills area and came across this on Google...read the reviews first and thought it worth a try. (Usually go to Kreation but none located in the area) Great selection of juices and smoothies. Staff not so hippie dippie as Kreation. Definitely will be my go to for juices However I did notice the negative review regarding female staff. My staff person (female) was ok. But that's all...just okay. And another staff person (male) could have been a little friendlier...but wasn't rude. I just think sometimes the younger generation service industry don't quite understand what real customer service is. (Ex.greet with a smile, eye contact, some energy in your voice, "have a great day"...etc. ) Especially located next to a Smoke Shop...customers might think the lack of energy has something to do with being a bit stoned... Lol! Just smile...

Great to have a fresh and speedy smoothie place in the area! Always in need of a refreshing drink to sip. They also have bowls and gelatos that are sooo pretty and delish!

Ordered the "Panna Ashta Maravillosa" it's was amazing. Freshly made right in front of us, highly recommend trying it.

The acai here is very unique and tastes so amazing. The blue majik pressed juice was a hit. Would be cool if the bowl had more acai in it.
