A few years ago, I used to play ping pong at the N. Lamar senior. I was an OK player. Then, I competed against members of the Asiannl American Resources Center, and they were much better. I asked if I could learn from them. They invited me here and that's how I discovered this wonderful center. Besides ping ping, they have a lot of activities for senior Asian but not only ping pong. They have multiple exercise classes, yoga, Tai chi, even dance classes, and sometimes shows and concerts. They also offer cards games and other table games. They offer a garden club where seniors grow their own plants and flowers. Bollywood dancing, cooking classes, technology classes if you want to improve your computer skills. Arts & crafts as well as calligraphy. Health classes and many more. See their website for more info. All of tho say that we are lucky to have such center for seniors in Austin. All of that thanks to the city of Austin.

This is an amazing community center that doubles as an art museum/gallery. There is a lot of help that is offered here for those who need and and they also host a variety of events. Some events they have had in the past are career fairs and cultural events related to various Asian cultures. There are also various exhibits in the large ball room area and in the hallway and foyer area, as well as some permanent artwork. Everything about this place is super nice, and it is definitely a must-see.

Eveyone seemed comfortable and friendly. Came down for a Lunar New Year themed craft fair. While I wish it was bigger, they made sure every artistian was of Asian descent.

Beautiful resource center with an incredible amount of information on Asian culture and origins in America. This center is buzzing with events, informational sessions, and artwork, including a peaceful Zen Garden.

I had a great time there. There were some protesters, but everything went smooth. Nothing says America like people shouting: "You say diversity, I say disgusting". The only disgusting thing there was the lack of tolerance.

Attended the Chan ( Chinese Zan ) Meditation Workshop, it is a nice, quiet, clean place.

Asian American Resource Center was a beautiful venue. Wish I had the time to check out all the art, artifacts, and sculptures. Thank you for hosting Andrew. Had to get back to South TX. long drive. Have to say Andrew Yang2020 was the best part of the evening though!!!

Yelp
Beautiful small little place where they held AAPI month for a food festival. Lots of food trucks and exhibits and a Zen garden. There was plenty of parking nearby as well. Awesome to really see AAPI representation in Austin!

Yelp
This was my first time visiting because of a small Christmas concert of a wind quintet from the Austin Symphony which was quite a treat. The facility looks new and spacious with a large ballroom where the concert was held with plenty of room for round tables and rows of chairs closer the stage. There's even a Zen garden courtyard at the facility that looks very nice, although it was locked when I was there. There are numerous classrooms, long hallways with photographs of Asian scenes framed for sale, and even a ping ping table. I'm sure there's a lot to explore that I missed, but especially nice is the splash pad outside that has beautiful tile artwork and large granite sculpted petals rising up from the ground.

Yelp
Austin's Asian Americans generally go about their business, raising valedictorians or whatever, while listening to other people talk about their personal first-world problems. It's not that Asian Americans are unsympathetic, it's simply more efficient sometimes to talk less and do more. Different strokes. But this spanky-new Asian American Resource Center is an interesting surprise. It's an official City of Austin Parks & Recreation facility, and I'm mildly curious what local behind-the-scenes politics ensued to complete this tax-based venture. I'm just more accustomed to seeing private business developments like MT Market spring out of nowhere. Having said that, it's a pretty cool place, and I hope it does well. I was here on a beautiful Saturday to support Frozen Rickshaw during the recent "RICE" celebration - I'm not sure that's an acronym or what. It was my first visit to the AARC's park-like complex, and I also attended a panel discussion featuring owners of Austin's Asian-fusion restaurants & trailers. The rest of the sparse assembly room audience was Anglo. It occurred to me this particular City of Austin entity may be less about hanging out, and more about being on display. I think that's somewhat educational. And mildly amusing. Different strokes.

Yelp
I took my daughter here for their CelebrAsia event. We parked next door at... TXDot? Plenty of parking. A bit of a walk but nothing like if it was downtown. :) This place is off of Cameron Rd near all the business parks. The center itself is really new and you can tell. So sparkly. Their outside area has plenty of shade so it was nice on a Spring day. My daughter greatly enjoyed everything. I hope that they will host more events here.

Yelp
I'm glad there is a place like this in Austin. I'm Filipino American and it's great the City of Austin helped create this resource center. I actually came here for an event called Celebrasian and it's basically a celebration of different Asian cultures with artwork and clothing on display. There were performances and food vendors there too. Austin History Center was there along with the Austin Public Library and a host of nonprofits. I took the time to check out the facilities which had classrooms, items from different cultures on display, a conference center and a kitchen. I will definitely try to come here more often for events.

Yelp
I will be glad when my friends and I can go back. As part of Parks and Rec, it's closed right now. There is, or was, something there for everyone -- kids' art classes, ping pong tables, an adult art gallery and displays of quality art work, a small vegetable garden space, and excellent programming. We went there for the Yoga class and Indian food on Wednesdays. The Yoga instructor is excellent and a very caring, special person. This virus has robbed us of many things.

Yelp
Very nice facility! Two thumbs up. I visited several meeting spaces, one had a smart board for presenting and also a larger room with a large screen. Seating was comfortable for both. Staff was very welcoming.
