"Some days just call for a comforting bowl of pho. Island Pho is a family-owned restaurant serving Vietnamese fare, including bowls of chicken or beef flank pho, spring rolls, lemongrass chicken, and shaking beef. Order brown sugar bubble tea or refreshing strawberry fruit tea before heading back out into the sun." - Eater Staff

Found this place by accident (lucky for me) really good food I had the pork vermicelli. Pork was tasty and juicy my wife had the shrimp pho soup it comes in a generous bowl, I also ordered Vietnamese coffee ca Phe Sua Da it was simply delicious I plan on returning and completing my journey through their menu

Google
This one is tough. This is a new Thai restaurant that directly overlooks the most popular and long-established Thai restaurant on the island. It's the third Asian restaurant in that location with the previous two failing. It's difficult to start anew in a seemingly jinxed location. Today's meal was Green Curry. Visually. the sauce was a beige or tan color. In my opinion and just guessing they assume what makes it green is the amount of green vegetables in the dish. I have eaten Thai food across America and Europe never having curry prepared this way. Granted, every Chef puts their twist on their dishes. Never have I had Green Curry with about 3/4's of a can of green beans. Never have I had Green Curry that I can only guess included Poblano peppers. The food was not bad, yet, not particularly stellar either.

Think of their pho as the dollar menu pho. I mean technically I thinks it’s pho. There was broth, chicken, rice noodles, and a dash of celery and cilantro. A lime wedge was in there next to two jalapeños. The broth tastes like it was made in two minutes, the only flavor I got was from the hoisin and chili I added. The staff were super nice and the bubble tea while over priced was good. I will not be back. I make better at home and I’m the tall awkward Dutch kid.

I have the Vermicelli bowl with brisket, shrimp, and chicken also the chicken Skewers and Brown sugar Boba tea. Everything was delicious! First time ever eating here and the service was fast and friendly. Can’t wait to go back and try more of the menu, but I will say the Brown Sugar Milk Tea is definitely my favorite!

Google
Stood inside restaurant placed a to go order while 2 people were eating inside. Several other tables filled up and two more to go orders placed after me. Most all tables were served and to go orders filled before my order was filled. I waited 45 minutes just for soup which is pretty much already made to order. Never visiting again.

Google
Absolutely loved this place! The owners are sooo sweet! Definitely delicious as well. Was not disappointed by anything here. Hard working people making some delicious food and drinks! You need to try the boba tea!

Natalia Ramlogan

Google
The pho wasn't like others. The flavor was very light and refreshing. It's was more of a vegetable broth which is new and good. The tiger sugar milk tea was little on the sweet side, but nothing that ruin the drink. Overall, the food was great. I will be coming back!

Google
We love this place. We go to this place often! The pho here tastes better than any other pho place in Glynn county. They have a clean sit down area and good customer service! My favorite is Pho Combination (meatballs, brisket, eye round steak) They have boba tea now and that makes it even better!

Michael O.

Yelp
Would actually give 4 1/2 stars but not a selection. I had the Shrimp Pho and was very tasty. The broth was bold in flavor but would like more vegetables (bean sprouts, cilantro, jalapenos etc..) for the soup than what was provided. Good amount of noodles & shrimp. Service was quick and friendly. Would definitely recommend on a cool day to help warm the bones.

Adam C.

Yelp
I have to be honest, we have not eaten here... ever. But we get Boba from here once a week and every time it is amazing! They are fast and consistent with how the drinks taste! It's definitely a hidden gem! Maybe someday we will try the food but I know the boba is 5/5!

Yelp
The restaurant is in a plaza that shares parking with some other establishments. The restaurant has a small, intimate feel upon entering and is filled with a booths and tables that seats about 4 to a table. The entire restaurant could probably accommodate about 30-40 people comfortably. Coming on a Saturday evening around dinner time, I was surprised at how empty it was (I was the only one in there). The staff was one individual who was very gracious and helpful. I ordered the pho with brisket and eye round steak. It took about 7 minutes for my pho to be served. I was surprised that the usual sides of bean sprouts and other veggies were not served to me on a side plate. There was a lime, but it was dropped directly into the soup, which I hadn't seen before. There wasn't really an option to choose a large or a small, but I was pretty disappointed at the portions on this one. After the meal, I got a mango fruit tea with boba to go. That was fine, nothing special, but it was sufficient to satiate a craving for boba. I will give credit here though, the boba was chewy and had a good consistency. Overall, I am unlikely to be back for the pho. I may come back for a fruit tea (perhaps). Hoping they'll continue to evolve and improve in the future.

Yelp
Nice little restaurant tucked into shopping center. Waiter was very attentive and ambiance was a little dated. Orders spring roll with shrimp and chicken.... Chicken was boiled just a strange combo but peanut sauce made up for it. We both ordered vermicelli with shrimp.... Shrimp was yellow which mean curry or tumeric, odd flavoring but edible. It did not have all ingredients or fixing listed especially peanuts?? It came with peanut sauce. A little disappointed as it was early evening in a Friday!

Dalas R.

Yelp
I was afraid after leaving ATL that I wouldn't get good food or boba anymore. Island Pho didn't disappoint

Jessica P.

Yelp
I ordered the shrimp and chicken.... the protein was cooked to a pulp. We are right here near the water, and the shrimp were small previously frozen rubber tasting shrimp. The portion would not fill up my young child, and i will not go back. sorry, guys this is the 3 rd order! i tried.

Phil M.

Yelp
Celery in the pho!?! Come on! Gave it a really weird taste. Also not a fan of throwing all the accoutrements (lime wedge, cilantro, jalapeño) in the pho for me.

Joe S.

Yelp
I am glad Island Pho is back and wish them the best. We have been Patrons for many years here on Saint Simons. I understand a new family now has taken over the Management and I wish them well, but I was disappointed by the portions of some items. We ordered the Pot Stickers in addition to other items today and received 4, by there website they have at least 6. I have ordered Potstickers in many cities over many years and have never received only 4.  I only wish the best for Island Pho and their owners, but I believe they need to review their advertising versus what they are actually delivering! Best regards, Joe Schaitberger

Yelp
Very unique beef pho. It has celeries instead of basils. I didn't see onions, bean sprouts, and they already had some jalapeño and a lemon wedge swimming in this semi-sweet broth. The beef was cut too thick so it became a bit chewy. I was looking for traditional pho so this is not for me. I did appreciate the effort and service. If I am in town and have craving for some hot soup, I will still eat there.

Jim M.

Yelp
First time in since they shut down for a while. I have to say I miss the old Island Pho. They must have hit hard times because the portions were endemic and our Bonmi sandwitch was all roll. For the high end price the quality does not match. We paid $60 bucks for take out dinner and had to heat up a pizza after. Disappointing.

Christal K.

Yelp
Great boba but they gave some spoiled chicken egg roll. Also I thought spring rolls were a little crunchy they served me a jelly like rice paper .. very gross

Olivia D.

Yelp
We had the vermicelli pork bowl and shrimp pho. Both were GREAT! Flavors were impressive and truly a hidden gem.

BK H.

Yelp
The price and the quality is opposite! Sorry to say that but I never go back to eat there again.

Kirsten B.

Yelp
I got chicken pho and egg rolls and both were amazing!! A ton of food too! Literally have enough for at least 1 more meal! I did add more chopped onions and cilantro though but it was very yummy!! Highly recommend it!!

Lee D.

Yelp
Excellent Pho on St Simons. My wife and I enjoyed the Shrimp and Chicken Spring Rolls wrapped in rice paper. We each had the Shrimp Pho. Both excellent. Freshly made with fresh ingredients. Great food. Reasonably priced. Excellent service. Highly recommend you visiting.

Joel G.

Yelp
Enjoyed some delicious Pho on a rainy, cold day. Warmed our outsides and insides, but not half as much as the warm welcome and treatment by the management team. We also tried and enjoyed the Chicken Bahn Mi and a couple of Boba Teas. Only in town for a few days, but expect to return and we highly recommend.

Sandra S.

Yelp
Cannot say enough about the wonderful service and food today. We took our daughter to celebrate her birthday with friends. Our waiter was wonderful and the food was superb. Highly recommend. We will keep Coming back.

Sarah W.

Yelp
I went here based on reviews and was very disappointed. It was the worst Vietnamese food I had ever had. I ordered the grilled chicken plate, egg rolls, spring rolls, and boba milk tea. The chicken was extremely dry and the portion size for the chicken and side salad was very small. Had to be around 2 ounces of chicken. The spring rolls also had the dry chicken in it and just ruined the whole roll. The peanut sauce that came with it was also the worst peanut sauce I have ever tasted. The egg roll was okay, but the sauce that came with it had an overwhelming fish taste to it. The boba tea and quick service was the only decent thing about this meal.

Jane K.

Yelp
Excellent food and service! I am not a fan of Vietnamese Cuisine, but my husband loves it so we visited Island Pho. Was I pleasantly surprised! I ordered the egg rolls and chicken skewers while my husband ordered his favorite - Brisket Pho. The egg rolls were so freshly made and delicious, and the chicken was delicately seasoned and juicy. My husband's bowl of pho was so large and so full of noodles, brisket, and veggies, he couldn't finish it. Our server was courteous and helpful and explained the menu to me. He was attentive and took care of us beautifully. This restaurant is amazing, and we will definitely return!

David W.

Yelp
Doesn't look like much from the outside, but the food on the inside is amazing. We love coming here and are happy to have stumbled upon this little hidden gem! Good soup!

Javier A.

Yelp
First let me start off with how this restaurant is riding off older reviews from previous owners. The photos on yelp look great, the food looks good. Until you actually get to the restaurant. The menu is much smaller than what you think you're getting based on what's online. I started with shrimp skewers which weren't that great, and then ordered the mixed fried rice (chicken and shrimp) with a lemonade for the main course. The lemonade was hot which threw me off. The meal itself wasn't that bad but just wasn't what I was expecting. All in all, you can spend your money elsewhere for a better meal and experience.

Karl Z.

Yelp
Terrible. The old Island Pho had flavor we dreamed about. The new owners should have demanded or honored the recipes. We ordered tonight it it was the worst Pho we have had ever had if you can even call it Pho. The apps were cold and old and Pho was worse. It was so disappointing and a waste of money. We will scratch them off the list. I typically only give positive reviews but folks should be aware how bad this food is at this location.

Marie M.

Yelp
Quiet place in Longview Shopping Center. Near the airport. Great menu! Love the pho. Daughter had the Chicken with stir fried noodles. Delicious!

Amanda B.

Yelp
AMAZING! Wow, just wow. We started with a chicken cabbage salad and wontons. The cabbage salad I could eat every single day. Crispy fresh and perfectly dressed. All flavors are present and the crunch was awesome. Home made wontons with a delicious filling and sweet chili sauce with pickled daikon and carrot. The pho comes in two sizes which is perfect for us and the broth was spectacular. Perfection. Not too much of any flavor and the small beads of minimal indicate it was simmered to be just perfect. We had a white wine and a beer and these tiny guava candies at the end just made the day. The service was absolutely perfect and the staff and management were outstanding! Wish we lived closer so we could return!

Linton W.

Yelp
There has been a recent ownership change. The menu is completely different they've gotten rid of some of the favorites that we've had including the shrimp roll the chicken skewers and the island chicken. I ordered the chicken teriyaki and as you can see from the picture it was flavorless and the vegetables were completely raw. The rice was overcooked. It was almost like losing a family friend. I wish the new owners the best but it's going to be an uphill battle. I've also change the spring roll outer covering to a more traditional style instead of a flaky style.

Barbara W.

Yelp
Really yummy food! The Pho and the fried rice were wonderful and fresh.

Dana S.

Yelp
Sooo good! The flavors are rich and fresh! The service was attentive. Definitely a good choice for lunch.

Mike F.

Yelp
Island Pho is under new management and WOW, what a difference. The shrimp vermicelli and the chicken vermicelli is probably some of the best my family has ever had. The Boba tea was wonderful as well. Will definitely be frequenting Island Pho. Great experience.

Helena T.

Yelp
SOOOO GOOD. I only leave reviews for places that leave a great impression on me and this is definitely one of those places. Extremely kind staff and DELICIOUS food. Order the grilled pork banh mi and Vietnamese iced coffee, you will not be disappointed. I'm vietnamese and extremely picky about my coffee and banh mi's but this was top notch. I stopped here cause I was passing by while on a road trip but i'm sooo sad that I don't have one of these in my area! If i'm ever back in this area, it will absolutely be my first stop

Wallace I.

Yelp
The price we paid for the food we received was a borderline rip off. I mean, when I pay a high price for small portions, I feel ripped off. We won't be back.

Tori E.

Yelp
I was very impressed with my whole dining experience here. From the cleanliness of the restaurant, to the friendly and excellent service I recieved and the tastiness of the food served with fresh ingredients... which is very important in true Vietnamese cuisine. They label phô as "noodle soup" on their menu and unlike the many other Vietnamese restaurants I have been to in my lifetime, I can genuinely appreciate a menu like this one where they break down every ingredient for you and label their dishes in simple words that are easier to read and pronounce. My mother-in-law took me here today to eat a late lunch and I couldn't be more thankful because it truly hit the spot and fulfilled my curiosity about the place. Everything we ordered was delivered in a timely manner with a smile. As someone who has been eating Vietnamese food since I was a child growing up during my summers in NYC, I had high expectations and the meatball phô was superb and the spring roll appetizer was delicious! I definitely plan on coming back in the future and trying more on their menu.

Marty F.

Yelp
I'm not sure what's happened to Island Pho - new owners? New management? Definitely new workers and cooks. I do know that if I could give negative stars - I would. This was one of our favorite restaurants on SSI. Always fast and friendly with great Vietnamese food. Service was impeccable. What we had tonight was a step below a microwaved dinner. The service was horrible at best. A friend of ours waited 43 minutes for their order - and it was wrong! Their menu is bland - many dishes have been removed. The best thing I can say the canned Coke was cold. I know this because the iced tea we ordered tasted like...I have no idea. Sad sad day...hopefully the former owners/employees will return or this place will be out of business soon.

Melissa H.

Yelp
We had the chicken pho and the brisket pho. Both were very yummy! Warm and comforting like pho should be. The service was quick and super friendly. We will definitely be back!

Chelle A.

Yelp
A lot for the money and the broth is delicious. My family enjoys it and the price is right.

Nicole S.

Yelp
This used to be one of our favorites on the island, but new ownership has slaughtered the menu, provides terrible service and ruined everything that made this place so great in the past. Constructive advice for new owners: To start; bring back the basil rolls, invest in great peanut and teriyaki sauces, bring back fresh vegetables like mushrooms, eggplant and bok choy, use better quality meats and please provide a good portion size of protein and less rice. And for goodness sakes, close the front door and turn back on the A/C, it too hot and muggy this time of year. We all want you to be successful, please bring back the old island pho vibe we all know and love.

Jenn S.

Yelp
The owners sold this summer. The new owners just don't have the same great fresh menu items, the pho seems like basic chicken or beef stock, not the rich flavorful taste as before. Some of the best menu item are gone. We hear these people are looking to sell. Sadly, what was once a wonderful, delicious authentic Vietnamese restaurant has become more like a shopping mall experience. It's ok, but certainly not the 5 star rating of my last several years of dining here.

Hillary T.

Yelp
SSI is full of burgers and seafood places, but if you want something different and delicious, Island Pho is a must try. I've eaten here for years and it's consistently been wonderful. Husband and I liked it as a date spot for dine-in pre-pandemic, still love it for carry out now. It's a nice little hole in the wall that does a lot with the space. I've had every appetizer at one point or another and enjoyed them all. I particularly love the spring rolls and the wontons. I'm normally not the order-a-salad type when I'm eating out, but the cabbage chicken salad is awesome and my latest go-to. (If you're hungrier, the island chicken is basically that, over rice.) I also love the chicken curry, which is superb. Husband likes their shaking beef and their noodle dishes. Their pho isn't the best I've ever had, but I've had a lot of pho. That said, it's good and definitely worth ordering if you like pho. I tried the steak and flank. I highly recommend the chicken skewer (very flavorful) and ditto for the shrimp skewer, which also happens to be my 3-year-old daughter's favorite.

T T.

Yelp
This definitely isn't the old Island Pho. We ordered chicken and shrimp pho through Door Dash. The portion sizes were horrible. I can normally get two servings of pho from most places, but not here. I understand to go orders can sometimes be less food than dine in portions, but there was barely enough flavorless broth or noodles to enjoy the meal. The broth container was a little less than half full and there were maybe two slices of jalapeño, a quartered lime wedge, and a few pieces of cilantro. No bean sprouts, green onion, regular onion, etc. I had maybe 5 shrimp and the boyfriend's chicken portion was maybe 4 long pieces. That's it.

Robert D.

Yelp
Quality food, Qyality tea, and quick service. Would come again. It's also a very clean and nice area. Good for the family and solo.

An E.

Yelp
Delicious. Great value. Yummy sauces. Everything we ordered was good and fresh. Spring role had big shrimp and delicious sauce.

Mary B.

Yelp
Place is clean and food came out fast, boba was good. 3 stars because pho was plain and tasted like celery, it also only had three pieces of chicken in it. Would I would go back for the tea but I have definitely had better pho.

Dana C.

Yelp
So disappointed in Island Pho. Dishes and portion sizes have changed. Under the old ownership/management, portion sizes were substantial enough to get two meals from. And the flavor and food quality was wonderful. The portion sizes now are more like an appetizer. The value, flavor and tradition is gone. This used to be a favorite :(

Rebecca E.

Yelp
I was thrilled to see that among the endless (and good) seafood available on the Golden Isles that we were also able to enjoy some authentic Pho. My husband got the pan fried rice with chicken and shrimp, and I ordered Shrimp Pho to go. They did an amazing job filling our order quickly, efficiently and safely. For takeout, they placed the broth in a soup container, accompanied by two take out boxes with what southerners like to call "the fixings." And it was so delicious. We'll definitely be back!

Melinda D.

Yelp
My husband and I purchased the chicken pho. We were disappointed with the price and smaller portion. The pho tasted okay but did not have a lot of noodles & chicken. We also had no bean sprouts or cilantro. We aren't planning to go back.

Jorge M.

Yelp
Went to this little Vietnamese restaurant over the weekend in the Saint Simons area looking for a good spot to have dinner with a few friends we ended up coming here, the place was decent but expected a little bit more in the customer service area and the food was ok. I had the Vietnamese fried riceI and we also ordered a few shrimp pho soups. If you're into chai tea like I am they also serve that too. I recommend people go and try it for themselves and you be the judge.

PJ C.

Yelp
Was looking for a quick dinner and went off the other reviews for this restaurant. I had the fried tofu and chicken fried rice for dinner. The staff was pleasant and attentive. The restaurant was clean and spacious. The portion was very generous and I enjoyed my meal(and leftovers). I saw numerous people come in for take out and a catered meal. I would definitely return.

Robert L.

Yelp
Awesome service and amazing food! We ordered the pho tai, curry chicken and shaking beef. All were prepared to perfection. Very tasty! Definitely recommend.

Lynn B.

Yelp
Stumble upon this place when we were looking for a place to eat. Overall, if you ever had pho it should not taste like this. The broth was sweet and flavorless. I have to add whatever sauces that they have on the table to add some flavor. The worst pho I ever had been to. The only positive about this experience is the server. They were attentive.

Annie S.

Yelp
I went to this restaurant as it was recommended by Yelp for one of the best restaurants in SSI (based on the rating). I went with my husband and we ordered chicken skewers, shaking beef and cabbage chicken salad. This was our first time so we just read through all of the reviews about which is the best and go for it. Although there has been a new transition with the management (as some returning customers noticed the difference and said), the food was still amazing! The shaking beef was so good. Even I'm picky when it comes to salad but I have to say that their cabbage chicken salad was out of this world! Hope they will improve their service to be faster but it was definitely worth going back again for the food.

Michelle C.

Yelp
I stumbled upon this place while in the area. The servers were very attentive and the place was clean. I ordered the large steak and flank pho. It was fresh and very flavorful. I would recommend this place if looking for some pho!
