Asian Glories

"The Peking duck that you see hanging in the kitchen are one of the highlights on the attractive menu at this restaurant, while the pancakes that accompany the dish are prepared in front of you. The culinary traditions of Canton and Szechuan are to the fore here, served in elegant yet unfussy dishes which are full of generous flavours. A real feast!" - Michelin Inspector

The atmosphere in the new restaurant (our first time) is great and fresh Value for money (6 courses x 64 euros) is also quite great Some courses struck me with an unexpectedly annoying detail: they were SMOKING hot! Not spicy but temperature wise! Personnel, please warn your guests if they need to wait for half a minute before digging in... fresh off the wok or deep fried meals served without warning and I burnt my palette so bad.. You know how it goes: you bite a bitterbal at the beginning of a party and cannot taste anything for the rest of the evening and only suffer, suffer... Other than that, food was balanced, surprising, rich with seafood and other flavors. It did make a lasting impression. Especially Sichuan beef at the end and salmon at the beginning Desserts were on the contrary very pricey and unimaginative Ratio of mint to water in fresh mint tea also unacceptable - thanks, after burning my palette on the wok dish I am now drinking plain hot water 👍🏽 We will come back for food but not the desserts and drinks ;)

Wow. What an experience. The food was just amazing. Tuna fish was perfection, with its fresh wasabi and tiny crispy bits below. The duck pancake with the crispy duck skin was very good. Fried rice and beef was filling and very tasty. The chicken broth soup was also good, although quite small and a unique taste. Strong seaweed taste. Chocolate soufflé was just right, with a great combination of strawberries and not too sweet cream. Oolong tea was the perfect way to finish this meal. The place is a bit expensive, but I feel it’s very much justified. The service was great, service was quick, and the food presentation added to the meal experience.

In the heart of the city, nestled between the hustle and bustle, lies a hidden gem that transports you to the enchanting world of ancient China. The newly renovated Chinese restaurant, with its open and airy ambiance, is a sight to behold. The moment you step inside, you are greeted by the warm and inviting aura that radiates from every corner. The subtle touch of ancient Chinese culture, beautifully interwoven with modern design elements, creates a harmonious blend that is both visually appealing and culturally enriching. The restaurant offers a breathtaking view of the church, providing a serene backdrop to your dining experience. The panoramic view, coupled with the soft, ambient lighting, sets the stage for an unforgettable culinary journey. The owner/chef, a master of his craft, welcomed us with open arms and a heartfelt congratulation on our wedding anniversary. His passion for food and hospitality was evident in every interaction, making us feel truly special and valued. The culinary delights that followed were nothing short of extraordinary. Each dish was meticulously prepared, showcasing the chef's expertise and dedication to authentic Chinese cuisine. The flavors were rich and robust, yet perfectly balanced, offering a delightful symphony of tastes. The chef's innovative twists added a refreshing element to the traditional dishes, creating a unique dining experience that tantalized our taste buds. The service was impeccable, with the staff attending to our every need with utmost care and professionalism. They made us feel welcome and comfortable, ensuring that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. As a special gesture for our wedding anniversary, the owner graciously offered us complimentary drinks and a generous discount on our bill. This thoughtful gesture, coupled with the exceptional food and service, made our dining experience truly memorable. In conclusion, the Chinese restaurant is not just a place to dine, but a destination that offers a unique blend of authentic Chinese cuisine, exceptional service, and a captivating ambiance. It is a place where every visit feels like a celebration, making it an ideal choice for special occasions or simply an evening of indulgence. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a culinary journey that is as enriching as it is delicious.

The service was very good. Food wasn't a 5, but that is just my own personal taste so to each their own of course! Atmosphere was alright, not necessarily the best since the music was a little loud sometimes. Also the tables were a little close to each other which made our conversations easily mixed with the ones held at the table next to us. Unfortunately our table was so close to the staircase that everyone walking by us wasn't very nice. But I give them the benefit of the doubt and give a 4 all-round.

Revisiting the refined flavors of Asia at Asian Glories in Rotterdam, we were warmly greeted at their new venue on Westewagenstraat. This fresh setting, while taking some getting used to, reaffirms the restaurant's high caliber. Led by Chef Kevin Fan, Asian Glories offered us an unforgettable culinary journey. Despite the team still adjusting a little bit to their new home, the quality and warm hospitality Asian Glories is known for remained uncompromised. Kevin Fan's unmatched passion for Asian cuisine, alongside his dedicated staff, ensures each meal is a masterpiece. Their commitment to consistent quality, coupled with a warm welcome, makes every visit a sensory celebration. The evening was spectacular, filled with dishes that were both familiar and innovative. Kevin and his team's pursuit of excellence remains the key to Asian Glories' success. This dedication keeps guests coming back for more of their favorite Asian delicacies. I look forward to many more visits and wish Kevin Fan and his exceptional team all the best at their new location. This is quite a different restaurant now. Modern in its looks, with views on the beautiful St Laurens. However. The ventilation system did not work properly. Several guests started coughing when chilies were fried. The taste of the food was a shadow of what I remembered it to be (I was hoping for fire and depth). And I *love* dogs, but I don't think it's hygienic to let them sit on a chair at the table with their humans. We mentioned our complaints to the maitre d' and he was understanding and kind in how he handled them. I may return some day and try the dim sum and peking duck, for old times' sake.

Excellent fine-dining Chinese restaurant in the center of Rotterdam. I had the 7-course Tasting menu, which I can definitely recommend. Some of the dishes such as the oysters, sesame chicken, Peking duck & clams were simply superb! And the service is friendly and attentive.
