A true and tried no frills neighborhood Chinese Takeout spot. Very reliable with above average Chinese food. Just wish they were open a little later :) I recommend the Beef and Broccoli with white rice and egg drop soup.

Dec '21 A very merry “Jewish” Christmas! May your egg rolls be crispy and your fortunes bright! No, this isn’t a Hanukkah post. Hanukkah isn’t the Jewish Christmas but you can scroll down my account to find a Hanukkah post to learn more. Instead, this is how many Jews “celebrate” Christmas - with Chinese food! I ordered General Tso’s chicken and white rice from Asian Taste. Why this? Well it’s become kind of a Jewish tradition to eat Chinese food and go to the movies on Christmas Eve. Again, why? Well because Jews and Chinese were the most populous non-Christian immigrant groups in the Lower East Side, NYC. Neither celebrates Christmas but still wanted to enjoy the festive season and Chinese restaurants were one of the few still open Christmas Eve. Chinese made a great meal for semi-kosher Jews since the meals are meat based and don’t mix with milk. So in the late 1800s/early 1900s Jews found themselves eating out at Chinese restaurants. And it’s a sort of tradition since.

Wow the Grand Marnier Shrimp is OUTSTANDING. I have ordered it several times over the last several months. It pulls me out of a slump and the portions are terrific. The shrimp is cooked perfectly and bountiful. The candied walnuts are pleasing and different. The sauce, I would eat with a straw if I could! Gets even better in the fridge overnight. Yummy!

I recently had the pleasure of ordering food from Asian Taste, and I must say that it was an absolutely delightful experience! From the moment I placed my order to the moment the delivery arrived at my doorstep, everything was flawless. I left my purse at work and he even waited for me to retrieve it! First and foremost, the menu at Asian Taste is incredibly diverse and offers a wide range of Asian cuisine options, they have it all. The variety is impressive, and I appreciate having so many choices. The delivery process was prompt and efficient. The food arrived at the promised time, and it was still piping hot and beautifully presented. It's evident that they take great care in packaging their dishes to ensure they arrive in perfect condition. Now, let's talk about the food itself. It was absolutely delicious! Each dish was bursting with flavor and made with fresh, high-quality ingredients. The chicken was crispy and moist at the same time! What sets Asian Taste apart, in my opinion, is not just the quality of their food but also their attention to detail and customer service. The delivery was friendly and flawless, which was a lovely touch and made me feel appreciated as a customer. Overall, my experience with Asian Taste's food delivery was outstanding. I highly recommend them to anyone craving delicious Asian cuisine delivered right to their door. I will definitely be ordering from them again in the future. Kudos to the entire team at Asian Taste for a job well done!

The food came out fast and was delicious. The place is very convenient and the decor is nice. They follow COVID guidelines. I especially like the chicken nuggets, crispy and juicy at the same time. Their chicken and broccoli is very yummy too especially with the saucy rice.

Got a large tofu and broccoli with garlic sauce alongside some brown rice for $15! Good value considering I had enough leftover for basically a second meal. Very tasty also!

Google
So glad they're closed. I had either glass or rocks in my fried rice. Also had questionable meat from here as well. yuck.. Good riddance!

Yelp
Oh yea, this is exactly the kind of Chinese takeout I love. Wonton soup absolutely slaps, and the chicken & broccoli is fire too but wish it came with more chicken. Great spot, affordable and quick

Yelp
Asian taste is the best. My roommates and I are their #1 fans. Order the lo mien (QUART SIZE) - it's truly never ending!!! You won't regret it

Yelp
I got the BBQ spare ribs combo plate which comes with an egg roll and a side of pork fried rice, totalling $12-13. The egg roll was crispy, the rice wasn't mushy or under seasoned, and the BBQ spare ribs tasted really good. The inside of the place itself doesn't have anywhere to eat inside so it's take out only, but I recommend going here if you want something good and affordable.

Yelp
This place is in my neighborhood and I've been looking forward to trying it and so decided to drop in for a simple order of chicken wings on my way home from work with the intention to return for a more substantial selection of their menu later. The chicken wings were $8 and change so that after the tip I was in for nearly $11.00. When I got home I was confronted with 4 very small chicken wings that could not weigh more than an eighth of a pound. Their cost versus my satisfaction is so that I will never return nor should you bother to begin. As a secondary note, 3 of the staff were arguing at the top of their lungs unabated the 5 minutes I waited for my order. Don't bother.

Yelp
Not worth it , tasteless, mediocre at best, fried rice with frozen veggies, and barely any , chicken and broccoli just bad and hot and sour soup just soy sauce a complete waste. Don't bother, they were busy , I don't know why.

Kaixuan C.

Yelp
I ordered Lo Mein for two days. Toooooo much MSG!!!!!! Makes me thirsty whole day and sleepy!!!!!

Milo C.

Yelp
Insert clap emoji here, because I have lived in East Village for 8 years and I haven't found a good cheap classic dinner combo, pork fried rice with boneless spare ribs and and egg roll combo since I've been here. I literally tried them all. I have to go to other neighborhoods to get it. This place does it. A lot of the other places in the neighborhood give you that yellow rice, or don't have a good entree. This place meets every aspect for good Chinese take out for me. They even give you free delivery! I got a large wonton soup too and it was filled with wontons and was piping hot. Excuse my photos. I normally don't like to dress them up a little but I dug in before I could do a plating. I'll update another time. Look at that soup!!! My only complaint, is that I like a bigger egg roll, but hey, no one is perfect. When you hit $15, they throw in a soda. Call and order like it's 1998, and stop supporting 3rd party apps that take money from the hands of restaurants. Definitely recommend!!

Yelp
Asian Taste looks like just about any storefront Chinese restaurant in the East Village, but it's quietly blobdamn delicious. Everything I've had there (I'm a vegetarian) is well-spiced and not overpriced. The cashier/hostess is no nonsense, but not off-putting. Do I remember her working there when she was a child?

Ryan D.

Yelp
This place had good prices but the food was a bit of a letdown. Compared to other NY Chinese places there just wasn't as much flavor to their food. I would urge again delivery as well as it took much longer then it initially estimated. I will be looking for another Chinese place in my neighborhood next time I order Chinese.

Yelp
Main takeaway for this review is, if you want cheap, local chinese takeout/dine-in, this is your place! I've tried other similar locations and they taste pretty bad and they serve you outright old food that was cooked a previous day thats pretty hard to chew or eat! Ordered General Tso's chicken (of course) and It was quite good for $8 bucks. It is 8/10 for a neighborhood location and pretty fast.

Karen P.

Yelp
Very bad service. Food was cheap, but it was so mediocre, I'm not sure it was worth it. First time I tried was good, but last two times have been such a disappointment.

Ciara M.

Yelp
I am giving this 4-stars because this is conveniently located near my work and had helped me with my Chinese food cravings. I just ordered on the phone and within 10 minutes my order is ready for pick up. I like the convenience! I definitely like the pricing and portion of their lunch specials. There are plenty! I've only ordered two items on their lunch special. Always with fried rice. I tried the sweet and sour chicken which was good. I like that they separate the sweet and sour sauce on their take outs so I can enjoy the crispy "breading" of the chicken before putting the sweet and sour sauce. The other item on their lunch special that I really like is the chicken (or pork) egg foo young. It is such a flavorful omelette with meat and veggies. I also love the gravy that comes with it. Their lunch special comes with a spring roll that I am not crazy about. Do not confuse their lunch specials with the special combination plates! I will definitely order again.

Yelp
Food's below average. The lady on the phone was rude as well. However, when I got there she did not show the same energy which was pretty funny.

Nisarg G.

Yelp
I ordered the thai curry which is one of the best I have eaten and for those prices its a steal. I ordered the lo-mien which was not that good but manageable Definitely great to have a good Asian delivery joint close to home

Zachary M.

Yelp
Not bad but covered my Asian cuisine crave! Overall fair prices and good food overall!

Vidal B.

Yelp
Very good Chicken with Brocolli. I requested minced garlic pieces. They delivered and it was good temperature and delicious. The spring rolls are good too.

The Real Y.

Yelp
Have to give this a one star. I have a nut allergy and made it very clear that I had an allergy and they said no problem no nuts. Then there were nuts and I ended up in the hospital with a serious allergic reaction. When I called Asian Taste they would not acknowledge that they put any nuts in, no apology or anything, just hung up on me. They do not take allergies seriously at all and is not safe for anyone that has allergies

Gabriel R.

Yelp
This place has been great since it was China Wok!! Try the half chicken with any type sauce (Garlic Sauce is my favorite)

Will E.

Yelp
The portions were large and the food fresh. I enjoyed my Pad Thai and Egg Foo Young and will reorder again.

Christina H.

Yelp
Best Chinese food spot in the area! I've tried quite a few places around, but this one has to be my favorite. We went in for takeout, and the lady at the counter was very nice and efficient. On our way out, she told us to have a nice day and to stay safe which I feel isn't something I commonly hear in most other Chinese takeout spots. The food was excellent! We ordered General Tso's chicken-- one with brown rice and one with pork fried rice. Both the chicken and the rices were very well done and flavorful! Thank you, Asian Taste! Will definitely be back for more!

Justin A.

Yelp
I don't review places very often, but this spot def hits the need for quick chinese takeout

Sody G.

Yelp
Ordered delivery on a Wednesday night. Super quick and food was good! I got lo mein and friend rice combo that comes with an egg roll. I will be ordering delivery again soon.

Ashley M.

Yelp
Finally! A clean and decent chinese food in the neighborhood! I've had the egg rolls, ribs, chicken and broccoli, sesame chicken, fried rice, etc. Pretty good compare to the other places. I hope they last!

Teresa M.

Yelp
I ordered the Singapore chow mei fun. I couldn't believe how small my bowl was but it was packed in there tightly so I had to get a flat plate to eat in. It was surpassed to have more or a curry spice to it but it didn't and I asked for hot mustard and didn't get any so I made up for it with my spices here at home and then I enjoyed it. Delivery was on time but failed to carry enough dollars for change so his tip was shorter than usual.

Marsha I.

Yelp
Food was inedible Iced cold - went in trash contacted restaurant. They were very rude and hung up on me. Don't bother Go elsewhere if you want good food.

Alexandra S.

Yelp
Just moved to the neighborhood and this place is right down the street. It filled my craving for "Americanized Chinese food." The portions and pricing are great!

Matt M.

Yelp
Good cheap chinese food. $7 lunch specials. Takes credit cards. Clean space and friendly service.

Chaz A.

Yelp
Great local spot if you're in the area - really good food. General Tsos a personal favorite

Yelp
I finally found an affordable and delicious Chinese food place. The food was really good. I had boneless spare ribs with pork fried rice. The rice was delicious! Probably the best pork fried rice I've ever had. And the boneless spare ribs, I want to cry. Amazing! I asked for extra bbq sauce and it actually had sauce on it. Every where I've gone to comes dry. No sauce. And the ribs were soft not dry and hard. I was really happy with my food. Also, I ordered fried wontons and honey chicken wings. Those were really good as well. This is definitely going to be my new spot.
