This was my first time eating here and I tried the lunch special. This will definitely be my last time eating here. There were black metal shavings in my rice. The shavings are sharp and corse. Save yourself the money and the hospital bill.

Google
Of the Chinese take out options in town, this is by far one of the most affordable in town. They also serve large quantities and (in my opinion) tastes better. We’ve come at least a dozen times and never had issues with the food The servers don’t speak English as their first language. Sometimes, you may need to repeat things or speak slower but I think they are nice!

I came in within the last 10 minutes of closing and they were out of items but made sure to make them fresh for me instead of turning me away . great prices , great food !

Google
Food was delicious! Lots of tasty options. The only thing my husband wasn’t too psyched about was the wonton soup. Everything else we tried was really yummy. Fellow customers were so sweet to talk to as well, another customer even got the door for us on the way out. Good portion for the price. We’ll be back! :)

Google
Crazy good value for what you get. Prices aren't insane and they don't skimp on portions. I'm a big fan of both the orange chicken and the bourbon chicken with the fried rice. Egg rolls have been pretty good whenever I've bought those too. Service is super quick and efficient - I don't think I've spent more than 5 minutes inside the restaurant ordering takeout. This has become my go-to spot for whenever I want a cheap filling meal and I don't feel like cooking!

Gregory Marsh

Google
The food is usually good. I'm partial to the mushroom chicken and bourbon chicken, as well as their vegetable lo mein as a side. I cannot, however, recommend the spicy shrimp. The flavor is good, but the ratio of batter to shrimp is terrible. Also, the batter is very dense and kind of like a bland hush puppy. Sauce flavor is good and so is the spice level. I'd probably go with the spicy chicken if you're looking for some heat.

Google
Left ne with the Sad feeling of still craving Chinese food after eating Chinese food. Rice, bland beyond bland, no flavor. Bourbon chicken tastes like grilled chicken. Orange chicken, flavor wise okay however VERY over cooked. Lo mein was the best part, yet still very UNDER seasoned, kind of like a plain wet noodle taste and texture with maybe a tiny hint of I think teriyaki, flavor so weak I cannot be sure. Spring rolls taste like soggy over cooked cabbage, but at least I tasted something, I guess. I was clear I had never been, so I was going off suggestions by the employee and customers. I was hoping for tea to be offered but if it was then I didn't see it, didn't see a sign and surly was not asked if I wanted a drink. This was over $12, plus tip, so about $15 total, kind of wish I had gone elsewhere, well I do wish I did. Best part about my experience was the other customers. One suggested spicy chicken, I was worried about too spicy, now I see flavor isn't their strongest thing I probably should have. Another customer suggested orange chicken. I do not eat much so my plan was dinner for my kids, however, I will be throwing this out and I'll take them to Wendy's for some dinosaur play dough I guess. Disappointed to have wasted money. As a single mom to three special needs kids, I try to treat myself once a month to a good meal that I eat in quiet while they are in school, it's sad this was it.

Google
This restaurant is unprofessional, the folks at the cashier are rude, they need to learn how to interact better with their customers. They look at you as if you are a fool to eat the product they're selling. The rice was good but the orange chicken is flavor and bread more than chicken. No wonder why it is so cheap. I felt sick after eating the fried rice with orange chicken, I wanted to vomit. It's better to pay more somewhere else and get quality food. Stay healthy

Joe S.

Yelp
What can I even say! Good lord, the food is perfect for the price during the lunch special. This hoe is only 7.39 plus tax for a ginormous portion of food. Ngl this food is better than gooning. If you're looking for cheap, quick, and yummy delight, bring yourself right over here. I don't know if there's fent in this food or something but it for sure ALWAYS keeps me coming (:p) back for more

Yelp
When Chinese take-out is on your mind, you know exactly where to go, "Asian Wok & Grill". I found this cute local eatery a few months ago and fell in love after my first visit and quick service. This restaurant has dine in, take out and delivery available. The menu pretty easy to read and famous for their $6-$7 lunch specials starting at 12pm i believe. This visit I purchased the 2 Entree 2 Side Meal with Bourbon Chicken, Orange Chicken, Vegetable Fried Rice and Lo Mein. It was delicious as always!! If you are on the Archer Rd side of town it is worth a try and if not, it is worth the drive!

Yelp
$7.51 for a to go container FULL of food and a drink (lunch special)...enough said. Bourbon chicken is my go to but orange chicken is good too. Never been disappointed.

Yelp
My man's hooked me tf up here. I got all this gas gas food for only $10.08 I think he hit me w that free egg roll tho. ALSO the sign out front said it closed at 10 but I called homeboy at 10:03 and he still let me place an order for pickup. I got general so chicken fried rice and an egg roll and it was actually pretty solid. My go-to was wok-n-roll or China star and this outranks both of them in terms of taste, texture, and amount of food per dollar. The egg roll was juicy, rice not too greasy, and the sauce was saucing so hard. The bad reviews are just from NPCs so ignore, how are you gonna go to a $7.00 lunch combo establishment and expect quality food?? Go read a book bro. This was the perfect cheap greasy yummy shiddy Chinese food ever. Point blank I highly recommend.

Yelp
Sometimes you just crave Chinese food and on a particular night a friend and I ordered from Asian Wok and Grill on DoorDash. We opted to pick it up in person versus pay any delivery fee. I ordered the 3 combo meal with lo mein, bourbon chicken, and General Tso's chicken. My friend got the 2 combo meal with lo mein and orange chicken. Unlike the typical fare you would expect, the bourbon chicken was not anything I'd seen on any Chinese menu before. It had a smoky, savory taste, and it makes sense why so many reviews mention this dish. The portion sizes were good but about typical for takeout Chinese, leaving some leftover for lunch. I would recommend Asian Wok and Grill if you want some classic Chinese with an interesting twist.

Yelp
Serving sizes are HUGE! And food is great!! Very reasonable prices and very quick service

Yelp
I was in the area and was in the mood for Chinese food. This was my first time trying Asian Wok & Grill and I was quite satisfied with my impulsive decision to stop by. At this time it seems to be takeout only, I presume still due to Covid. I called my order in according to the sign and my food was ready within about 5-7 minutes. I think this has to be my favorite style of General Tso's chicken. The breading seemed like it was tempura style as opposed to flour breading that I am used to with other Chinese restaurants. It was thin and crispy and tasted so good! I got vegetable fried rice along with mixed vegetables as my sides, and the veggies tasted so fresh! I most definitely will be giving some of their other menu items a try in the near future!

Yelp
Even tho the prices are expensive they have great food and a great family with them if anyone here is rude ask yourself if u had a restaurant and a family and u guys were rude what would u do

Yelp
Well yes, you should sometimes judge a book by its cover. It is what it is: cheap eats! The food was ok, just ok. I have to admit that I lucked out ordering the string beans as a side dish and surprisingly they were the best part of the meal! Fresh and hot! All the other food was 'buffet' quality. There are tables but no table service. The dining room is very basic, and meant to accommodate takeout diners who don't want to leave their building. Overall, there are just too many eating options to just serve ok food. I tried but won't bother again. Based on who else I saw there, they very obviously have their loyal customers.

Alex A.

Yelp
I love this place, the prices are reasonable and it has that familiar Chinese-American cuisine. This time I tried the spicy chicken, which I wasn't a fan of. It didn't have much sauce and had a weird flavor. The orange chicken was really good, a little more on the sweet side. I really love the General Tso's chicken. I definitely recommend this place!

Arindam S.

Yelp
Amazing food! Bourbon chicken is what I keep going back for. I love the fact that they have a completely vegetarian bowl as well!

Yelp
I've come to this Asian Wok & Grill in the past. I haven't tried the made to order items, which from looking at other views could potentially bump the quality up to a solid 4.5 or 5 for some. Last night, I got the orange chicken, bourbon chicken, with lo mein as the side. It cost me about $9.50. I would agree with Matt L's review that this place has a "Mall Chinese Food" style. The food, and noodles are incredibly sweet. If you are someone who likes that style of chinese food, then you'll enjoy the food here. If you're someone looking for a more authentic or less "sweet twist", then you might look elsewhere or consider the "made to order" options and specifically ask to make the food less sweet. The bourbon chicken is incredibly flavorful, and the orange chicken was also decent. Surprisingly, I couldn't eat this entire meal in one sitting so I would say the portion size is pretty decent. There are 1 meat, 1 side, 2 meat, 1-2 side variants with their standard menu, and then a "made to order" menu on the side. I think they encourage the standard menu options since they precook these staple entrees and sides in bulk, and it is easier for them to pack these trays for customers having them in and out in a very timely manner. I thought the food tasted good overall, which is why I rated this place a solid 4. My main reservation is just how sweet everything tastes. I'm someone who likes "Americanized" and "Traditional Chinese" dishes so I didn't mind, but I wanted to mention this for someone who really cares about these nuances.

Yelp
Unassuming little restaurant in a strip mall. My mom was raving about it. Took me there for lunch. Bourbon chicken was divine. Large portions, very reasonable prices. Try it out.

Yelp
We were just passing through the area for the evening and all I can say is WOW!!! This was the best Chinese takeout my husband and I have ever had...best bourbon chicken hands down!!

Yelp
I was craving some Chinese food and this spot wasn't too far, so I thought, "Why not?" Ehh, I should have thought a littttttle harder. Not really into the location, but maybe into the food I ordered. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken special with Veggie Fried Rice, and I also ordered a side of Veggie Lo Mein. The Lo Mein was less than flavorful, sadly as I love Lo Mein and only got it due to me being greedy. I only had a bite and pushed it away. The Kung Pao smelled deliciousssss! But it wasn't my cup of tea and I think that's just my personal taste, as it was prepared well (albeit with too many diced veggies cluttering and crowding the dish). The staff was on the move and courteous, and there were about 4 other customers there so I *know* there had to be more potential. The next time I go back, (because I definitely am!) I think I'll go for something different and ask the staff their favorites!

Yelp
This place is a great lunch spot for those who are looking to save money and be satisfied! Their lunch special used to be 5.95 and it included one meat, one side, and a drink but now the lunch special has risen to 7 dollars. This is still super affordable for the amount of food that they give you. I would recommend people in Gainesville to give it a try!
google avatar

Yelp
Awesome Chicken Teriyaki LR Have order the same thing like 20+ times @la.real.productions

Yelp
Very reasonably priced--which is such a rarity in Gainesville. Flavorful food in solid portions. Would have to be my #1 favorite spot for a quick bite.

Yelp
Quality take-out chinese food. I loved being able to order online from Yelp! I ordered the 2 combo meal with General Tso chicken with double fried rice ($6.99). My boyfriend got the General Tso chicken with fried rice on the side ($4.99!!!! a steal!!) I also got the Wontons and they were just okay. I wish it came with a sauce or something. We both have leftovers and are SO full! Con - when my boyfriend picked up the order, the cashier was super rude to him - literally waved the receipt in his face when he was double checking that something was correct. Also, we got no fortune cookies so make sure you ask for some & soy sauce!

Yelp
In December I am working on 31 reviews for the last 31 days of 2019. This means I need to try places that I have never been before. Last night I was doing some holiday shopping and decided to try out Asian Wok and Grill. I went inside and got the Chinese from a mall feeling. But surprisingly it was really good. I noticed when I walked in the had a lot of different specials. I also noticed it was kinda like Panda express, but just not as fancy, but the food looked real. It said you could get free samples outside, but I did not ask for them as it was pretty busy inside. I got the Combo number 4 which was 2 sides and 2 meats. For my sides I got the rice and lo main. The rice was okay, it was a little salty but I liked it. The Lo Main was good as well. Both were not huge servings, but it was okay. For my 2 meats I went with general tso's chicken and bourbon chicken. Both were super flavorful and tasted great. The bourbon chicken was my favorite of the 2 meats. I wish I could make something like that at home. It was super good tasting. I also decided to order 2 egg rolls. I loved the egg rolls. They were crispy and tasted great. I believe they were pork egg rolls and had a wonderful flavor in them. Overall I really enjoyed my dinner here. For the dinner 2 sides and 2 meats and 2 egg rolls it came out to $10.80. It was great and a really good meal. I am super happy I stopped and tried this place as I will be returning again in the future!

Yelp
The general Tso's chicken was tough. They also require you to call in your order via telephone and pick up your order through a window because of Covid-19.

Will L.

Yelp
The little boy in the corner doing his homework was soooooo cute I feel like he would be so dedicated to his chosen sport of wrestling and would never quit he is so good at piano it's so hot 10/10 would cum again

Yelp
Quite good food, family owned, fresh food for low prices. Wish they would open Resturant up.
google avatar

Jacobi B.

Yelp
In my opinion, this is the absolute best Asian food in Gainesville. Every bite is better than the last and everything is packed with flavor. I usually get the fire grilled bourbon chicken with shrimp fried rice. The fire grilled bourbon chicken is delicious. The sauce is succulent and the meat is grilled to perfection. The shrimp fried rice is the best I've ever had! The shrimp, onions and vegetables are plentiful and fulfilling. Overall, I would highly recommend Asian Wok & Grill. It's a great choice for lunch and dinner!
google avatar

Mari T.

Yelp
Not very good, edible and average at best. Had the sweet & sour chicken, honey chicken, bourbon chic, & general tso chicken, cream cheese puffs. s&s chiken was the worst- overcooked dried fried chicken in sauce & the best was the bourbon. All was nothing special & my advice to you is: go to the Thai restaurant next door. They were good!
google avatar

Kimberly P.

Yelp
The food is alright. I got the 2 meats and 1 side. Bourbon chicken, orange chicken, and fried rice. The portions are uneven. And the woman at the front was very rude. Uncomfortably rude. The people in front of me were polite and I was polite and smiling and she frowned and seemed like she didn't want to be doing her job. I didn't even think twice about not tipping her. I always tip but this woman's attitude was not worthy of an extra dollar. Good food, bad service. Update: i got an 8oz bourbon chicken and he container wasn't even half full. Why? Their food is already overpriced and they'll cheat you out of portions. I

Soroush E.

Yelp
Large portions and fast service, they get you in and out as fast as can be and the food tastes pretty good. Really good for the price and always tasting the same.

Marlyn R.

Yelp
Food is delicious, Bourbon chicken on point and so General Tso's Chicken, Fast service. I like this place !
google avatar

Sara T.

Yelp
Came here for lunch with coworkers around noon and place was dead. Food didn't look fresh and not much choices to pick from but chicken. I ordered two meals the one meat and one side. Orange chicken and fried rice. The orange chicken was okay tasted like it was sitting there for a while not fresh or good. The fried rice was bland. The bourbon chicken was okay but the chicken was a bit chewy and noodles were good.
google avatar

Rebecca B.

Yelp
This is one of my go-to places when wanting Chinese food. I admit there isn't anything special or unique about it but it's great food for a great price. located off Archer road this place is on the small side and the lunch choice on the bar simple but you can have things cooked to order. I have always gotten great service and food here. My food is always hot adn the portion generous forth price. My only reason for giving it a 4 star and not 5 was that the guy running the counter was on the phone talking loud which was kind of rude. Other than that a great place, good food, and awesome price. My personal favorite the one meat and one side lunch special with veggies and orange chicken.
google avatar

John T.

Yelp
My family has been eating here for years now. We are mostly vegan (4 out of 5 members are) and absolutely love the bourbon tofu, general Tsos tofu and the sesame tofu. You really won't go wrong with any of these options paired with the white rice or lo main. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it after writing this review. Seriously this is my favorite Asian style food in all of Gainesville.
google avatar

Kristen O.

Yelp
Their fried rice is good with bourbon chicken juice on top. Better portions and cheaper than the Panda Express across the street. Love their bourbon chicken and orange chicken.
google avatar

Frank C.

Yelp
First, I love Chinese food. Now that we've gotten that out of the way... HOLY CRAP THAT WAS GOOD! I was completely stuffed, but didn't want to stop eating because it was so good. By far, bar none, the best egg drop soup I've ever had. Such a mild "eggy" flavor. General Tso's was solid. Spicy & Sweet. Lo mein was great too. I would have posted pictures, but the food disappeared. Thank you. Best Chinese food I've had in over 10 years! We WILL be back!

Allie P.

Yelp
It's one of those classic, panda-express style places where you pick from their big trays of entrees. Is it the best Asian food I've ever had? No. But it is PRETTY good, and they give you a LOT of food for cheap. I was STUFF just with the two entree platter, and the food was tasty (especially if you dress it up dafter with extra soy sauce). You want cheap food that hits the spot? This is where to go.
google avatar

Brenda L.

Yelp
I ordered their food for delivery and paid extra to tip the driver only to call Grub hub and find out that I have to go pick up the food. When I got there my food wasn't even ready and when I got home they had given me a double order of orange chicken although I had also asked for general tso's chicken as well.
google avatar

Mike W.

Yelp
In contrast to the other two reviews of this fast food Asian place, I was very displeased with my one experience here for lunch. Given its location in a new shopping plaza off Archer Road, I was hoping it might be pretty good but instead reminded me of the very worst mall food-court Chinese places I've dined at--and yet it wasn't even in a mall. Same concept as those mall places, too: a counter with a variety of cooked dishes, lo mein, and fried rice on offer. Bourbon chicken, kung bo chicken, that sort of thing. My kung bo chicken was without flavor and bland, and I was not impressed. Note also that I was there for lunch around one o'clock so it's not like I caught them at closing time and was dealing with old food. It's possible I caught them on an off day, but I highly doubt it. The whole concept of their food is very typical, bland, Americanized kinda-Chinese and neglects the vast and great tradition of REAL Chinese food. I cook Cantonese, Lao, and Viet food at home all the time and used to live in San Francisco's Chinatown, so I feel I know whereof I speak. Someone really needs to put a decent, authentic, Chinese restuarant into Gainesville instead of weak pan-asian efforts like this: Bento already has done pan-asian and done it right, and for now I highly recommend them (even though they are more expensive) over any place like Asian Wok N Grill.
google avatar

Bri T.

Yelp
Shrimp Lo Mein cooked to order. It tasted fantabulous and the portion is HUGE! Definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone.
google avatar

Amanda L.

Yelp
2 words: BOURBON CHICKEN. If you haven't done it, do it now. The lo mein is so good... But so is the fried rice so I always have a really hard time deciding. So much bang for your buck. It's a little weird with covid, you have to call your order in and then pay through a make shift takeout window but I really don't care. It's THAT GOOD.

Dhruv P.

Yelp
Actual gas fried tofu and rice. Also very cheap prices so no complaints in that department. Don't bother with food-ordering apps if you want to pickup, just call them directly.
google avatar

Christopher M.

Yelp
I knew it was a bad sign after ordering I asked when we could pick it up, and the reply was "Right away." 3.5 stars is way too high. All of the food is pre-made and on par with a Chinese restaurant you get inside a mall's food court. And no pork fried rice. Very disappointed, never again.
google avatar

Brad K.

Yelp
I agree with the other posts. Fast service Not to greasy food (bourbon chicken, plantains and other good choices) We needed a placed like this around this side of town. I like !
google avatar

Noheli G.

Yelp
Asian Wok is, in my humble opinion, the best quick Chinese food. This go around I ordered their Orange Chicken, Fire and Grilled Bourbon Chicken and their Shrimp Fried Rice. Truly delicious. The Orange chicken had an amazing flavor. It was a perfect balance of tang and taste while the bourbon chicken was glazed to perfection. Their chicken seems to be chicken breast so there isn't any of those chewy pieces you would get from drumsticks. It was definitely grilled as they had those lines on them and the glaze was perfect. I wish I could bottle up their sauce and use it daily. The shrimp fried rice was also 10/10. The rice had a good amount of shrimp. I was able to get at least one piece with each bite. The flavor of the rice itself was also great as it wasn't just drowned in soy sauce like some other unfortunate experiences I have had at other spots in town. Overall, I will definitely return. Delivery is an option and it's one I use often!
google avatar

Brandon F.

Yelp
It's not the best American Chinese food in town nor is it the worse. TBH this place shocked me at how tasty the food is. Do they load their food up with msg? Probably. Did it exceed my expectations for crappy Chinese food? Indeed it did. I come to this place fully knowing it is bad for my health and whatever they use is probably low grade ingredients. I tried 4 of their dishes in the span of two days, the bourbon chicken, lo mein, chicken and mushrooms, and orange chicken. Bourbon chicken: is a godsend and the best part of this place, they even do samples The lo mein exceeded my expectations in terms of tastiness, is it filled with high sodium lol, hell yeah it is. The orange chicken is breading, straight breading like 90% and 10% chicken. The chicken and mushrooms they used really low grade chicken compared to their bourbon chicken and the it was overly salty. Point is, for the price $5-7 for a meal that absolutely fills you up and is on a decent tastiness level. You pay for what you get. It is surprisingly good in terms of the bourbon chicken and the lo mein. Everything else like their fried egg rolls are frozen in case yah don't know. Otherwise happy eating. #poorcollegestudentlife
google avatar

Devin D.

Yelp
The food here is great. A great meal for what you pay for. What I don't like here is the service. For a little while I was a regular always getting the same thing everyday bourbon chicken, orange chicken and lo mein. But I'm the type of person to not pay attention to how much I'm spending just swipe my card so, I was very surprised when I saw my bank statements and almost every time I went there it was a different amount. They would charge me anywhere from 5-7$ instead of a base price like every restaurant should. On top of that one day I used a coupon that I found in the gator greenbacks there for a free size of bourbon chicken. When I handed it to her she seemed to roll her eyes then she proceeded to give me a half full cup when it was meant to be a full 8 oz cup. I'm not meaning to sound petty but I just feel some of the things they do at this establishment are very petty. Food: 5 stars Service: 1 star Overall: ehhhh

Yelp
My favorite Chinese place in town! Spicy shrimp Is a must try. Very quick with delivery
google avatar

Tiffany H.

Yelp
Well ''twas a cold night in Gainesville, and the place I wanted to eat at was closed so I decided to order Chinese. The food was good, nothing spectacular. I ordered the two meat (general tos, and bourbon chicken), two side (lo mein, and spring roll) combo, fried dumplings, and a coke. Everything was great, my only issue was the general tos chicken, it had a sweet flavor more like orange chicken, but other than that, I enjoyed my meal, I'm still stuffed!
google avatar

Gianna V.

Yelp
The food I received from this restaurant was substandard. Tons of cabbage is used in the vegetable side dish as filler, bc it's cheaper. I ordered the spicy tofu, it left much to be desired. The texture was rubbery and soggy, drowned in an oily sauce. Completely inedible, I took one bite and had to throw it out. The vegetable Lo Mein was nothing special at all. For VEGETABLE Lo Mein, there certainly weren't many veggies and the taste was strange. PROS: cheap, large portions, fast delivery
google avatar

Kegan W.

Yelp
Decent food for a decent price. Don't forget the soy sauce, there's not much flavor to the fried rice without it.
google avatar

Brandon T.

Yelp
The food was hard and cold and it tasted really eat it I said no I am a chef I don't recommend any stars for this restaurant but one star if I have to order from them again I'm going to throw up I want to recommend that store to none of my associates or boardmember where the CEO so.
